Abstract

To provide a drum type washing machine which can prevent the entanglement of closing and overflow depending on none of a blade body structure and further eliminates a water proofing mechanism for lowering the cost while enabling the drying of washing without the use of a drying unit. The washing machine is provided with a water tub 10 resiliently supported inside a cabinet body 2 forming an outer hull, a drum 16 which is so arranged inside the water tub as to be rotatable about the horizontal axis, a loading hole 7 provided on the front of the cabinet body facing the water tub and the drum and a door 8 rotatably installed to open or close the loading hole. An air suction port 19 for sucking the outside air is provided at a position higher than the water level height for washing in the water tub and an exhaust port 21 for the outside air that is sucked into the drum from the air suction port to be exhausted is formed above the water level height.
