To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES R. MARTIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Benton, in the county of King and State of Washington, have invented anew and useful Cooky-(Jarton Display Cover, of which the following is a specification,

My invention relates to devices for keeping and displaying cookies, or the like, in a sanitary way, and itsobjects are, to provide a rigid, bottomless body portion adapted to envelop and support a cocky carton; to provide a transparent cover hingedly connected with said body to supplantthe original top of the carton and display the contents thereof;- to provide means whereby said contents are kept in sanitary condition when the cover is closed, and, to provide means for maintaining the cover in anupright position when raisedto its extreme limit.

In the accompanying drawing Fig. 1 is a perspective of thedevice complete, with cover inra-ised position.

The device is designed tobe made in sizes adapted to slidably engage and envelop cartons of standard dimensions, and in utilizing same the top portion of a carton containing goods to be displayed is first removed, and the device placed thereover. It affords substantial'support to the carton, and should the carton be soiled or injured-through shipa sanitary condition, and if desired,ailarge ping such defects are covered up, the goods display 'can'be made with arsmall amount of v goods, by having a number of these covers conspicuously placed, and with but a .few layers of the goods-located ad acent the top 1 of each.

I claim::

A; device of the class described, comprising a rectangular body open at the bottom, an opening at the ,top located inwardly from the upper edges of the body and provided with an upstanding rim, the edges, rim and peripheral portions of the top adjacent the edges defining a shoulder forming section extending around the top,-a cover hingedly connected with the rim, havinga frame, a lip extending alongeach lower side ofthe frame for approximately its length,a glass V disposed betweentheouter periphery ofthe' frame and the lips, means for securing-the glass tor-the frame, a lift, and a pair of transversely extending spring members .slidably engaged between the lips and the glass adapted to exert tension on the glass;
