To all whom it 'may concern Be it known that I, Tnnononn KEND1-1R- DINE, of Lisbon, in the county of Linn and State of Iowa, have invent-ed certain new and useful Improvements in Shank-Lasters; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description ot' the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to Vwhich it pertains to make and use it, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form part of this specification, in

M y invention relates to boot-shank lasters; and consists of an adjustable hinge -jointed arm, provided with a claw or clamp, in combination With a handle and base provided with a slot and fulcrum.
A represents the handle and base of the laster, having slot b and 'nlcrum o. B represents an arm, provided with claw d, hinged joint e, shoulders c', shank f, and screw h. The arm is secured to the base by the nut k on the screw h, as shown in the drawings. B' repre- Y sents an arm, constructed and attached to the handle the same as 'arm B, provided with a clamp, C, on the end instead of l a claw, to be used on ne thin leather. The clamp is con structed by hinging a plate, d', to fthe arm,
and is operated by a thumb-nut, e', onscrew` h', which passes through the arm, and is atv taohed to the plate. The inner surfaces of the clamp are corrugated.
By means of the hinged joint e in the arm, and slot b in the handle, the arm is adjustable in any required position.
