Abstract
The idea behind the possibilities of this arm-chair is to reach the direct and spontaneous wish for exercise of those who are handicapped or are in the position that they are otherwise prevented by TV, video or other physical reasons. This threshold is to be eliminated by mounting a pulling device with a rope of about 2,5 m in the arm-rest (3) and is given different exercise possibilities by placing the rope in the pulleys attached to the upper part of the back-rest of the chair (9), to the frame of the chair (7), to the support of the chair (8) and by the forward position of the pulling machine contained in the cushion of the arm-rest.
Description
Exercise arm-chair
Description of the drawings:
Fig 1 shows an arm-chair in a normal seating position in a side view with mounted pulling device with adjustable pulling resistance.
Fig 2 shows an arm-chair in a horizontal position with mounted pulling device with adjustable pulling resistance.
Description of a preferred embodiment:
In fig. 1 1 denotes a handle, 2 the cushion of the arm-rest, 3 a pulling device with an adjustable pulling resistance in one direction. In the other direction the rope is rewound into the pullinq device by a spring. 4 denotes pulleys for the rope, 5 a butt for the forward adjustment of the arm-rest cushion, 6 a button for adjusting the pulling resistance of the pulling device. 7, 8 and 9 denote pulleys, 10 denotes the movement of the rope outwards from the back-rest, 11 the movement of the rope upwards with the cushion of the arm-rest in the innermost position, 12 the movement of the rope outwards and upwards from the side of the chair, 13 the use of the rope with the feet and 14 the use of the rope as a kneebending device.
Background of the invention:
Based on the increase of heart and voscular diseases which according to medical seience is due to the structure of the industrial society with TV, video, computer technology and passive work which does not give the body a satisfactory physical activity, an arm-chair intended to stimulate chest- and lung functions has been developed wherein the arm-rest of the arm-chair is an exercising device.
The object and the most important characteristics of the invention:
In the arm-rest of the chair is a pulling device with a rope of about 3 m length attached to a selfrewinding cassette. The rope is placed in the pulleys attached to the frame of the chair in different places in order to give different ways of
exercise. By placing the rope in the pulleys attached to the upper part of the backrest, the frame and the support of the chair the pulling machine makes a wide range of exercises for the muscles in chest and arms possible. The exercises can be carried out either in a horizontal or a sitting position.
Claims
Claim
An exercise arm-chair with a range of use for a pulling device of a arm-rest mounted on the chair, in a normal sitting position and a horizontal position. The range of exercises of the arm-chair (Fig.1a, 1b) where the arm-rest contains a selfrewinding cassette (3) with a rope of about 3 m length (15). The rope is placed in the pulleys attached to the frame (7) and support (8) of the chair. The arm-rest has a forward position and a normal position (16, Fig.1a).
