Abstract

The patent refers to the duplex windscreen which contains a solar cells chain, 2 or 3 inches, that are injecting the electrical current to different car electrical consummers as air conditioning, refrigerator, ventilator, radio-telephone station, printer for cellular radio. The system gives maximum performances as voltage at peak power 17.5V and current at peak power between 0.8-1.6A as function of insolation, temperature, altitude etc. The solar cells chain internal resistor is used as a radio car antenna or a burglar alarm antenna using two inductances (L1 and L2) and a condenser (C) which allow the high frequency and DC component separation.

Description

Solar car battery
The patent covers a solar battery used in cars to recharge electric batteries.
There are in common use solar batteries as flat panels for powering up varies electric energy consumers as car radios, meteorologic stations, water pumps.
Flat solar panels have the following disadvantages:
- can be used only on flat surfaces
- have dimensional limits due to technology
In the independent electric vehicles powering systems, are mounted on top of the car, reducing the aerodynamic coeficient of the vehicle and encreasing the total weight.
Car antennas are built through precision mecanical operations, and wlmn installed ask for drilling the frame of the car, creating a stain developping nucleus.
The car solar battery, as this patent describes removes the stated disadvantages being made of photovoltaic cells, connected in series, assembled between two polyvinyl butyral foils and two car glasses. This assembly charges one or two storage batteries. The internal resistance of the photovoltaic cells permits the use of this assembly as a car antenna for radio or burglar alsrm system, the high frequency component separation being realised through one condenser and two inductances.
Following, is an example of patent, related to fig. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 which represents:
- fig. 1 - front wiew of front windscreen equiped with solar cells - fig.2 - front wiew of the rear windscreen equiped with solar cells
- fig.3 - top wiew of the oberlicht (overlight) equiped with solar cells
- fig.4 - the arangement of the solar battery in a car
- fig.5 - the solar battery conection to a storage battery and to the antenna plug of the car radio
The solar battery is made of photovoltaic cellas CF ( 2 or 3 inches in diameter) mounted between two polyvinyl butyral foils and two car glasses of 2 - 3mm (0.08" - 0.12") as shown in fig.1, 2, 3 using the duplex technology.
The solar battery is placed upwards in the windscreen P, bottomwards in the rear windscreen L and on all sourface in the oberlicht (overlight) 0, giving a voltage at peak power of 17.5V at a total current at peak power of 0.8 - 1.6A (in function of solar cells diameter) to a storage battery BT ( 12V/70Ah), measured at 1 sun.
The current sink in the storage battery BT depends of the time of the exposure, altitude, latitude, temperature an and the direction in space.
The solar battery converts the light energy in to electric energy, no mater if the car is moving or stoped.
A protection voltage regulator assambly ensures that the storage battery be partialy, but permanenttey charged even in cloudy or smogy days.
The solar battery, as mentioned in the patent, is used as a car radio antenna AR or as a burglar alarm antenna AA, using the internal resistance of the photovoltaic cells chain CF.
The liniar positioning and spacing of the photovoltaic cells CF forms an electric dipol, the electromagnetic field inducing in it radiofrequncy current (radio wawes reception in wire antennas). Because through the photovoltaic cells CF is flowing a high level DC current, which aperar through the photovoltaic effect, and low level radiofrequency current, these low level currents must be separated to be used independently.
The high frequency component separation is performed using two L1, L2 inductors and a condenser C.
This system gived a solution to power up the electric energy consumers in cars as: air conditioning instalation, freezers, radio station, printer for car used in cellular radio, night projector, ventilator.
The advantages of using this patent are:
- high energetic independence for all electric car consummers
- encreasing the life of the car battery through constant recharging even in hard winter
- radio antenna and burglar alarm antennas at no extra cost
- the solar windscreen must not be flat and may be used in spacecraft industry (planes, motoplanes, space shutles etc.)
