Abstract

Flüssige und gasförmige Substanzen, die halogenierte Kohlenwasserstoffverbindungen und/oder Gemische davon enthalten, werden dadurch entsorgt, dass sie vor oder in die Flamme eines unter Wasserdampfbildung verbrennenden gasförmigen oder vergasten Brennstoffs eingeleitet werden, wobei der Brennstoff so ausgewählt und die zugeführten Massenströme des Brennstoffs, von Sauerstoff und der zu entsorgenden Substanzen so aufeinander abgestimmt werden, dass im Abgas freier Wasserstoff vorhanden ist und eine Temperatur von mindestens 850 °C erreicht wird. In den heißen Abgasstrom wird Wasser eingesprüht, bevor sich der Abgasstrom auf eine Temperatur von weniger als 800 °C abgekühlt hat. Durch das Einsprühen von Wasser wird der Abgasstrom auf eine unterhalb von 350 °C liegende Temperatur abgeschreckt. Anschließend werden die wasserlöslichen, halogenhaltigen Reaktionsprodukte zusammen mit dem Wasserdampf auskondensiert.
