従来、 耐摩耗性や耐食性を有する自動車エンジンバルブフュース面用肉盛材料 として、 C 0— C r一 W合金に代表されるステライ ト合金、 N i— C r— B— S i合金に代表されるコルモノィ合金が広く用いられている。 また、 特開平 5— 2 7 1 8 4 1号公報には、 高靱性ゃ高耐食性の肉盛材料として、 C r一 N i— W合 金が開示されている。
近年、 これらの肉盛材料の使用環境は厳しくなる傾向がみられ、 特に自動車ェ ンジンバルブフェースにおいては、 高出力化 '高排気温化に伴い、 靱性、 耐摩耗 性、 耐熱衝 ¾性や、 さらには耐鉛腐食性など種々の面からの対応が必要になって きている。
一方、 ガソ リ ンは無鉛のものばかりでなく、 有鉛のものが用いられることもあ る。 有鉛ガソ リ ンを使用してエンジンを運転すると、 バルブフヱースの肉盛合金 部の表層が腐食されて表面粗さが大きくなり、 バルブシー トへの相手攻 «性が增 大する。 このため、 無鉛ガソ リ ンを使用した場合と比較して、 バルブシー トの摩 耗量が増大する。
本発明者等は、 高温での耐食性に優れている N i 一高 C r系合金に着目して研 究を進めた。 その結果、 従来の N i 一高 C r系合金は高温での耐食性に優れてい るものの、 硬度が低く耐摩耗性が十分に満足できるものではなかった。
また、 従来の肉盛材料の材料設計においては、 炭化物ゃ硼化物等の硬質粒子を 析出、 分散させることにより耐摩耗性を向上させることが行われてきた。 しかし 、 これら炭化物ゃ硼化物等の硬質粒子は粗大化する傾向がある。 粗大化した硬質 粒子が分散していると、 使用環境が高温の場合に強度低下した相手材を摩耗させ たり、 有鉛ガソ リ ン使用時の腐食により強度低下した相手材を摩耗させたりする おそれがあり、 相手攻擎性を抑えることが困難であった。 発明の開示
本発明は、 耐摩耗性を十分に満足でき、 しかも相手攻撃性を抑えることができ る耐摩耗性及び耐鉛腐食性に優れた N i一高 C r系合金を提供することを目的と する。
本発明の耐摩耗性及び耐鉛腐食性に優れた N i—高 C r系合金は、 C : 0. 0 1〜 0. 5w t %、 S i : 0. 0 1〜; I. 0w t %、 Mn : 0. 0 1〜: 1 0. 0 w t %、 C r : 35. 0〜60. 0w t %、 F e : 5. 0〜25. 0 w t N b : 8. 0~ 1 5. 0 w t %及び残部 N iと不可避不純物からなることを特徴と するものである。
本発明の耐摩耗性及び耐鉛腐食性に優れた N i一高 C r系合金は、 C r及び N i成分が耐酸化性、 耐鉛腐食性に寄与する。
そして、 本発明合金中には N bが 8. 0〜 1 5. 0 w t %添加されており、 こ の N b添加により N i— N b金 R間化合物や F e— N b金属間化合物が分散析出 している。 これらの N i一 N b金属間化合物や F e一 N b金属間化合物よりなる 硬質粒子は極めて微細化されて、 かつ、 網目状に複雑に絡み合って分散析出して いる。
このように N i一 N b及び F e— N b金属間化合物が微細、 かつ網目状に分散 析出することにより硬度が向上し、 耐摩耗性及び耐熱衝擊性が向上する。
また、 耐摩耗性等の向上に寄与する上記 N i— N b及び F e— N b金属間化合 物よりなる硬質粒子は極めて微細化されて分散析出しているため、 相手材を摩耗 させるおそれが少なく、 相手攻撃性を抑えることができる。
さらに上記 N i— N b及び F e— N b金属間化合物は熱的に安定なため、 熱履 歴に左右されない安定した溶接金属組織を形成する。 このため、 本発明合金を肉 盛溶接する場合、 微細分散した硬質粒子を安定して得ることができ、 広い温度範 囲で自身の耐摩耗性が良く、 相手攻擊性の少ないフユース面が得られる。
次に、 本発明の N i—高 C r系合金の各元素の作用及び成分限定理由は以下の とおりである。
Cは溶湯の粘性を低下させる。 このため、 本発明合金を肉盛溶接する場合、 溶 接作業性向上に寄与し、 ビード形状を良好にする。 また、 Cは脫酸作用があるの でスラグ形成を抑制し、 スラグ卷込み等の欠陥を防止する。 これらの特性は 0.
0 1 w t %以上の C量で得られる。 一方、 Cの配合量が多過ぎると、 C r炭化物 や N b炭化物等の炭化物を形成し易くなる。 この炭化物の析出は溶接金属のじん 性を低下させ、 割れの発生や耐熱衝撃性の劣化につながる。 このため、 Cの E合 量は 0. 0 1〜 0. 5 w t %とした。 なお、 Cの配合惫の好ましい範囲は 0. 0
3~ 0. 4 7 w t %であり、 さらに好ましい範囲は 0. 0 5〜 30 1 %で ある。
S iは溶湯の粘性を低下させる。 このため、 本発明合金を肉盛溶接する場合、 溶接作業性向上に寄与し、 ビード形状を良好にする。 また、 S i は流動性の良い スラグをビード表面に均一に形成し、 スラグ卷込み等の欠陥を防止する。 0. 0 1 w t %以上の S i量でこれらの特性が得られる。 一方、 S iの配合量が多過ぎ ると、 C rケィ化物や N iケィ化物等のケィ化物を形成し易くなる。 このケィ化 物の析出も炭化物同様、 溶接金厲のじん性を低下させ、 割れの発生や耐熱衝擊性 の劣化につながる。 このため、 S iの配合量は 0. 0 1〜 1. 0w t %とした。 なお、 S iの E合量の好ましい範囲は 0. 04〜 0. 9 4w t %であり、 さらに 好ましい範囲は 0. 1 0〜 0. 6 0w t %である。
Mnは溶湯の粘性を低下させる。 このため、 本発明合金を肉盛溶接する場合、 溶接作業性向上に寄与し、 ビード形状を良好にする。 また Μπは流動性の良いス ラグをビード表面に均一に形成し、 スラグ卷込み等の欠陥を防止する。 0. 0 1 w t %以上の Mn量でこれらの特性が得られる。 一方、 Mnの配合量が多過ぎる と、 溶接金厲のじん性が低下し、 割れの発生や耐熱衝擊性の劣化につながる。 ま たポーラスな腐食生成層を形成し、 硫黄が侵入しやすくなるため、 耐食性が劣化 する。 このため、 M nの E合量は 0. 0 1〜: 1 0. 0 w t %とした。 なお、 M n の配合量の好ましい範囲は 0. 04〜 9. 9 0 w t %であり、 さらに好ましい範 囲は 0. 1 5〜: I. Ow t %、 1. 5〜 5. 5w t %である。
Mnの配合量の好ましい範囲は、 靱性を重要視するならば、 0. 0 1〜 1. 0 w t である。 この範囲で特に靱性が高く、 肉盛溶接を行った時のクラック発生 による不良が少ないからである。 なお、 M nの配合饞を 0. 0 1〜 1. Ow t % とした場合、 本発明範囲内の M n量であって 1. 0w t %より多い範囲の合金に 比べれば、 実際のェンジン燃焼ガスのように還元性雰囲気での耐鉛腐食性が若干 劣る。 但し、 Mnの E合量を 0. 0 1〜し 0 w t %とした場合であっても、 従 来のステライ ト合金と比べれば、 還元性雰囲気での耐鉛腐食性は良好である。 し たがって、 M n配合量を 0. 0 1〜し 0 w t %とした合金は、 無鉛ガソ リ ンを 用いるエンジンのバルブフ ース用肉盛材料に適している。
M nの配合量の好ましい範囲は、 耐鉛腐食性を重要視するならば、 1. 0超〜 1 0. 0 w t %である。 有鉛ガソ リ ン使用時、 燃焼生成物としての硫化鉛による 硫化腐食が生じるが、 N i基合金は硫化物が生成すると融点が下がる (N i—N i a S 2 共晶の融点: 6 4 5で) 。 このため、 エンジン運転条件により、 バルブ フ ースの肉盛合金部の温度がこの融点を上回ると、 溶融した部分の硫化や酸化 が促進され、 バルブシー トへの相手攻擊性が増大する。 しかしながら、 Mnの配 合量を 1. 0w t %を超えて 1 0. 0w t 96までにすると、 実際のエンジン燃焼 ガスのような還元性雰囲気での耐鉛腐食性が更に向上することが判明した。 なお 、 Mnの配合躉を 1. 0超〜 1 0. 0 w t %とした場合、 本発明範囲内の Mn量 であって 1. 0 w t %以下の範囲の合金に比べれば、 靱性が若干劣る。 但し、 M nの配合量を 1. 0超〜 1 0. 0 w t %とした場合であっても、 従来のステライ ト合金と比べれば、 靱性は良好である。 したがって、 M n配合量を 1. 0超〜 1 0. Ow t %とした合金は、 有鉛ガソ リ ンを用いるエンジンのバルブフ ース用 肉盛材料に特に適している。
C rはマ ト リ ツクスを構成する固溶体として、 耐酸化性ゃ耐鉛腐食性向上に寄 与する。 これらの効果は 3 5 w t %以上の C r量で得られる。 一方、 C rの配合 量が多過ぎると、 融点が上がり、 合金溶湯の粘性を増大させる。 このため、 本発 明合金を肉盛溶接する場合、 ビード形状を不安定にする。 また、 肉盛材料として 粉末を製造する際の粉末の生産性も低下する。 このため、 C rの配合量は 35. 0- 6 0. 0 w t %とした。 なお、 C rの配合量の好ましい範囲は 3 5. 5〜 5 9. 0 w t %であり、 さらに好ましい範囲は 36. 0〜 5 0. 0^ 1 %である。
F eは N bと結合して金厲 ffl化合物の微細な硬 K粒子を網目状に形成し、 耐摩 耗性及び耐熱衝撃性を向上させる。 また、 形成された金属間化合物は熱的に安定 なため、 熱履歴に左右されない安定した溶接金厲組織を形成する。 一方、 F eの 配合量が特許請求範囲より外れると硬質粒子が網目状に形成されず耐摩耗性が劣 化する。 このため、 F eの配合量は 5. 0〜 2 5. 0 w t %とした。 なお、 F e の E合量の好ましい範囲は 5. 7〜24. 3w t %であり、 さらに好ましい範囲 は 7. 5〜 2 2. 5 w t %である。
N bは F eや N i と結合して金属間化合物の微細な硬質粒子を網目状に形成し 、 耐摩耗性及び耐熱衝撃性を向上させる。 また、 形成された金厲間化合物は熱的 に安定なため、 熱履歴に左右されない安定した溶接金厲組織を形成する。 8. 0 w t %以上の N b量でこれらの効果が得られる。 一方、 N bの配合量が多過ぎる と、 金属間化合物の析出 Sが多くなり過ぎて溶接金属のじん性が低下し、 熱衝撃 性が劣化する。 このため、 N bの配合量は 8. 0〜 1 5. 0 1 %とした。 なお 、 N bの配合量の好ましい範囲は 8. 3- 1 4. 6 w t %であり、 さらに好まし い範囲は 8. 5- 1 4. 0^^ %である。 したがって、 本発明の耐摩耗性及び耐鉛腐食性に優れた N i 一高 C r系合金は 、 N bの添加により N b— N i金属間化合物や N b— F e金属間化合物よりなる 硬質粒子が微細、 かつ網目状に分散析出しているので、 耐摩耗性を十分に満足で き、 しかも相手攻擊性を抑えることができる。 したがって、 本発明合金を用いて バルブフ ース部に肉盛溶接することにより、 上記特性を備えた自動車用バルブ を提供することが可能となる。
また、 Mn配合量を 0. 0 1~ 1. 0 w t %とした場合は、 上記特性を有する 他、 特に靱性が高くなり、 肉盛溶接時の割れが起こりにく くなるという効果があ る。 また ΜηΕ合簠を 1. 0超〜 1 0. 0 w t %とした場合は、 上記特性を有す る他、 特に耐鉛腐食性が高くなり、 有鉛ガソ リ ン使用時のように還元性雰囲気で P b O-P b S O, が生成するような環境で特に優れた効果を発揮する。 図面の簡単な説明

(実施例 1 )
表 1及び表 2に配合組成を示す合金を溶解し、 不活性ガスを用いてガスァ トマ ィズし、 粉末を製造した。 これを 6 3〜 2 5 0 mの範囲に分級し、 肉盛溶接用 粉末を製造した。 なお、 表 1に配合組成を示す試料 N 0. 1〜 1 2が本発明の合 金組成範囲内にある実施例合金である。 また、 表 2に配合組成を示す試料 N 0. 1 3〜 2 3が本発明の合金と同一の構成元素よりなるが、 いずれか一つの元素の 配合量が本発明の合金組成範囲から外れた比較例合金であり、 また表 3に配合組 成を示す試料 N 0. 2 4は従来使用されているステライ ト合金よりなる比皎例合 金である。

(評価)
上記試料 N o . 1〜 2 4の粉末について、 溶接作業性、 耐摩耗性、 耐酸化性、 耐鉛腐食性及び耐熱衝擊性を評価した。 結果を表 4及び表 5に示す。 評価方法は 以下のとおりである。
(溶接作業性)
自動車ェンジンバルブフ ース面に、 出力 1 2 5 A、 処理速度 8 mmZ s e c の条件でプラズマ盛金を行い、 ビード形状、 特にビードの幅方向及び厚さ方向の 揃いを目視確認により観察し、 評価結果を 5段階で示した。 これは、 試料 N o. 2 4の比較例合金 (従来使用されているステライ ト合金) を基準として 3点とし 、 点数が大きくなるほど溶接作業性が良好であることを示す。
(耐摩耗性) 図 1に示すように耐熱ステンレス鋤丸棒 (長さ 2 5 mms 外径 <ft 5 Omm) 1 の端面 1 aにリ ング状に上記と同様に肉盛溶接して肉盛部 2を形成した後、 図 2 に示すように斓面全体に肉盛部 2が形成された円筒状試験片 (長さ 1 5mm、 外 径 0 2 5. 6 mm、 内径 ø 2 0 mm) 3を切り出し、 これを図 3に示すように耐 熱ステンレス鋼板 ( 5 0mmX 5 0mmX l 0inin) 4上で 2 0 0 k g f の荷重 をかけたまま、 8 0 0でで 1 0 0 0回転回転させ、 試験片の表面状態の荒れ具合 を目視確認し耐摩耗性を評価し、 評価結果を 5段階で示した。 これは、 試料 N o . 2 4の比較例合金 (従来使用されているステライ ト合金) を基準として 3点と し、 点数が大きくなるほど耐摩耗性が良好であることを示す。
(耐酸化性)
軟綱上に上記と同様に肉盛溶接した後、 この肉盛部から試験片 (長さ 1 O mm 、 幅 1 0 mm、 厚さ 2 mm) を切り出し、 これを 8 0 0 :、 大気中で 1 0 0時間 熱処理し、 重量変化量で評価した。
(耐鉛腐食性)
耐酸化性の評価と同様に試験片を切り出し、 これを 9 0 O'C X 1 0時間、 大気 中で P b〇と P b S O « の合成腐食灰中に浸漬し、 滅肉量で評価した。
(耐熱衝撃性)
自動車エンジンバブルシー ト面に、 上記と同様に肉盛溶接して、 9 0 CTCから 1 0 0°Cまで水冷することを 1 0 0回繰り返し、 割れの発生の有無を調べ、 割れ が発生した場合は、 割れが発生した時の繰り返し回数を示した。

【表 5】 表 4に示す本実施例の合金試料 N 0. 1〜 1 2は、 いずれも評価した全ての特 性において滴足できる結果が得られた。
一方、 表 5に示す比較例の合金試料 N 0 · 1 3は、 Cの配合量が多すぎるため 、 耐熱衝擊性が劣っていた。 また、 Cの配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0. 1 8は、 溶接金 Rの粘性が高いため、 ¾流れが悪く、 平滑で均一なビード形状が得られな かった。
N bの配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0 . 1 4は、 N b— N i金属間化合物や N b 一 F e金厲間化合物よりなる硬質粒子が形成されないため、 耐摩耗性が劣ってい た。 また、 N bの配合量が多過ぎる試料 N 0 . 2 3は、 上記金属間化合物の析出 量が多くなり過ぎるため、 耐熱衝擎性が劣っていた。
C rの配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0 . 1 5は、 耐鉛腐食性が劣っていた。 また 、 C rの配合量が多過ぎる試料 N 0 . 2 0は、 溶接金属の粘性が高く、 溶接作業 性が劣っていた。
S iの配合量が多過ぎる試料 N 0 . 1 6は、 ケィ化物が形成され易くなるため 、 耐熱衝撃性が劣っていた。 また、 S i の配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0 . 1 7は 、 溶接金属の粘性が高いため、 湯流れが悪く、 平滑で均一なビード形状が得られ なかった。
M nの E合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0 . 1 9は、 溶接金属の粘性が高いため、 湯 流れが悪く、 平滑で均一なビード形状が得られなかった。
F eの 合量が本発明範囲より外れた N 0 . 2 1、 N o . 2 2は金属間化合物 が網目状に析出せず耐摩耗性が劣っていた。
従来使用されているステライ ト合金よりなる試料 N 0 . 2 4は、 溶接作業性、 耐摩耗性、 耐熱衝擎性などの特性には優れているが、 耐鉛腐食性、 耐酸化性の特 性が劣っていた。
(実施例 2 )
図 4に示すようなェンジンバルブ 5のフユース部 6に、 上記実施例 1の合金試 料 N 0 . 2の粉末を、 出力 1 2 5 A、 処理速度 8 m m Z s e cの条件でプラズマ 肉盛溶接した。
なお、 比較のため、 従来のステライ ト合金 (試料 N 0 . 2 4の合金) について も同様に肉盛溶接した。
これらのバルブを使用して、 2 7 0 0 c cのガソ リ ンェンジンを用いて 3 0 0 時間の実機耐久試験を行った。 これは、 無鉛ガソ リ ンを用い、 9 5 0 °Cの排気温 度で実施した。 試験後のエンジンバルブについて、 バルブ突き出し S及びバルブ シー ト幅增加量を測定した。 なお、 バルブ突き出し量は、 バルブフェースの摩耗 (耐摩耗性) とバルブシー トの摩耗 (相手攻擊性) とのトータル量を示す量であ る。 また、 バルブシート幅增加量は、 バルブシー トの摩耗を表す量である。 得られた結果を図 5及び図 6に示すように、 本実施例の試料 N o . 2は、 ステ ライ ト 6を用いた比較材と比べて、 バルブシートの摩耗量 (バルブシート幅增加 量) が少なく (結果としてバルブ突き出し量が少なくなる) 、 相手攻擊性を抑え ることができることが確認された。
また、 本実施例合金は耐酸化性に優れているため、 高負荷のエンジンを無鉛ガ ソ リ ンで作動させるような場合に特に適している。
また、 図 7に本実施例の試料 N 0 . 2を用いた肉盛部の金属組織を示す顕微鏡 写真を、 図 8にこの肉盛部の金属組織の模式図を示すように、 本実施例のものは 硬質粒子相が微細化していることがわかる。
(実施例 3 )
表 6及び表 7に配合組成を示す合金を溶解し、 不活性ガスを用いてガスァ トマ ィズし、 粉末を製造した。 これを 6 3〜 2 5 0 mの範囲に分級し、 肉盛溶接用 粉末を製造した。 なお、 表 6に E合組成を示す試料 N 0 . 2 5〜 3 8が本発明の 合金組成範囲内にある実施例合金である。 また、 表 7に配合組成を示す試料 N 0 . 3 9 ~ 4 9が本発明の合金と同一の構成元素よりなるが、 いずれか一つの元素 の配合量が本発明の合金組成範囲から外れた比較例合金である。

(評価)
上記試料 N o . 2 5〜 4 9の粉末、 及び前記表 3に示した試料 N 0 . 2 4の比 較例合金 (従来使用されているステライ ト合金) について、 溶接作業性、 耐摩耗 性、 耐鉛腐食性及び耐熱衝撃性を評価した。 結果を表 8及び表 9に示す。 評価方 法は以下のとおりである。
(溶接作業性)
評価方法は前記実施例 1と同様である。
(耐摩耗性)
評価方法は前記実施例 1と同様である。
(耐 腐食性)
軟鋼上に出力 1 2 5 A、 処理速度 8mmZs e cの条件でプラズマ盛金を行い 、 この肉盛部から試験片 (長さ 1 0mm、 幅 1 Omm、 厚さ 2mm) を切り出し た。 この試験片を P b 0- P b S 0 よりなる合成腐食灰中に浸濱し、 燃焼ガス 組成に近い還元性の N 2 — 1 0%C O- 9%C O2 雰囲気で 9 0 0で X 1 0時間 保持した後の滅肉量で評価した。 前記実施例 1では大気中で評価したが、 実際の ェンジン燃焼状態により近い還元性雰囲気で評価したものである。
(耐熱衝撃性)
評価方法は前記実施例 1と同様である。

【表 9】 表 8に示す本実施例の合金試料 N 0. 2 5〜 36は、 いずれも評価した全ての 特性において満足できる結果が得られた。 なお、 M nの配合量が他の実施例の合 金試料より少なめの試料 N 0. 37及び N o. 38は耐鉛酸化性が他の実施例の 合金試料より若干劣っていた。
—方、 表 9に示す比較例の合金試料 N 0. 3 9は、 Cの E合量が多すぎるため 、 耐熱衝擊性が劣っていた。 また、 Cの配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0. 44は、 溶接金属の粘性が高いため、 瀵流れが悪く、 平滑で均一なビード形状が得られな かった。
N bの配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0 · 4 0は、 N b— N i金属間化合物や N b ― F e金 «間化合物よりなる硬 K粒子が形成されないため、 耐摩耗性が劣ってい た。 また、 N bの Ε合量が多過ぎる試料 Ν 0 . 4 9は、 上記金属間化合物の析出 量が多くなり過ぎるため、 耐熱衝擊性が劣っていた。
C rの配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0 . 4 1は、 耐鉛腐食性が劣っていた。 また 、 C rの配合量が多過ぎる試料 N 0 . 4 5は、 溶接金属の粘性が高く、 溶接作業 性が劣っていた。
S i の配合量が多過ぎる試料 N 0 . 4 2は、 ケィ化物が形成され易くなるため 、 耐熱衝撃性が劣っていた。 また、 S iの配合量が少な過ぎる試料 N 0 . 4 3は 、 溶接金属の粘性が高いため、 湯流れが悪く、 平滑で均一なビー ド形状が得られ なかった。
M nの配合量が多過ぎる試料 N 0 . 4 8は、 ポーラスな腐食生成物が形成され るため、 かえって耐鉛腐食性が劣っていた。
F eの配合量が本発明範囲より外れた試料 N 0 . 4 6及び N o . 4 7は、 金属 間化合物が網目状に析出せず耐摩耗性が劣っていた。
従来使用されているステライ ト合金よりなる試料 N 0 . 2 4は、 溶接作業性、 耐摩耗性、 耐熱衝擊性は優れているが、 耐鉛腐食性が劣っていた。
(実施例 4 )
図 4に示すようなエンジンバルブ 5のフユース部 6に、 上記実施例 3の合金試 料 N 0 . 2 7の粉末を、 出力 1 2 5 A、 処理速度 S m m Z s e cの条件でプラズ マ肉盛溶接した。
また同様に、 エンジンバルブ 5のフェース部 6に上記実施例 3の合金試料 N 0 . 3 8の粉末をプラズマ肉盛溶接した。
なお、 比較のため、 従来のステライ ト合金 (試料 N 0 . 2 4の合金) について も同様に肉盛溶接した。
これらのバルブを使用して、 2 7 0 0 c cのガソ リ ンエンジンを用いて 3 0 0 時間の実機耐久試験を行った。 この試験は、 有鉛ガソ リ ンを用い、 従来のステラ ィ ト合金 (試料 N 0 . 2 4の合金) については 8 0 0 °Cの排気温度で、 試料 N o . 3 8の合金については 8 0 0 °C及び 8 5 0 °Cの排気温度で、 試料 N 0 . 2 Ίの 合金については 8 5 0での排気温度でそれぞれ実施した。 試験後のエンジンパル ブについて、 バルブ突き出し量及びバルブシー ト幅增加量を測定した。
得られた結果を図 9及び図 1 0に示すように、 M n配合量が 0. 4 3w 1 %と 比較的少ない本実施例の試料 N 0. 3 8は、 排気温度が 8 0 0での場合、 従来の ステライ ト合金を用いた比較材と比べて、 バルブシー トの摩耗量が少なかったが 、 排気温度が 8 5 0 ^と高温になり摩耗条件が厳しくなると、 耐摩耗性の良い試 料 N o . 3 8であってもバルブシー トの摩耗量が増大した。 これに対し、 Mn配 合量が 7. 9 9 w t %と比較的多い本実施例の試料 N 0. 2 7は、 排気温度が 8 5 0でと高温になり摩耗条件が厳しくなっても、 本実施例の試料 N 0. 3 8が排 気温度 8 0 0で時に示すバルブシー トの摩耗量と同程度に少なくすることができ た。
(実施例 5)
Mn配合量と肉盛性 (肉盛部の割れ発生率) との関係を調べるため、 上記実施 例 3の合金試料 N o. 3 6の粉末及び合金試料 N 0. 3 8の粉末を、 下記表 1 0 に示す重量比で混合し、 Mn配合量を変えた肉盛用粉末を準備し、 図 4に示すよ うなエンジンバルブ 5のフユース部 6に出力 1 2 5 A、 処理速度 8 mm/ s e c の条件でプラズマ肉盛した。 その後、 バルブフヱース部 6を製品形状に加工し、 素のときの肉盛部の割れ発生率を目視により調査した。 その結果を表 1 0に併せ て示す。

表 1 0から明らかなように、 M n配合置が 0. 0 1〜 1 0. 0 w t %と本発明 範囲内にあれば、 いずれも割れ発生率が小さいが、 その中でも Mn配合量が少な い方がより割れ発生率が小さくなる傾向にある。 従って、 靱性を重要視するなら ば、 M n配合量は上記本発明範囲内でも低い方が好ましいことがわかる。 本発明の合金を肉盛材料として使用する場合、 合金の形態は粉末、 ソ リ ッ ドヮ ィャ (ロッ ド) 等のいずれでもよく、 溶接方法はアーク溶接、 プラズマ溶接、 レ 一ザ一、 電子ビーム等のいずれかの方法を用いてもよい。
