Abstract

A power consumption reduction method for a multi-band mobile radio station in a digital mobile radio system is proposed. During initial cell selection or during a PLMN search, measurements of different frequency bands are interleaved, and a maximum number of measurements is squeezed in a single frame. Herewith, the total measurement phase is considerably reduced.
