Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel line with a barrier layer for preventing fuel permeation and a carrier layer surrounding the barrier layer.
- Such fuel lines and ventilation lines are known from the prior art.
- the fuel is conveyed from the fuel tank to the engine via the line and the fuel is ventilated.
- the fuels are generally gasoline or diesel.
- the fuel line can either be flexible or rigid.
- the barrier layer is made from polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) or else ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH).
- the material of the carrier layer is generally polyamide (PA), such as. B. PA11 / 12.
- PA polyamide
- a disadvantage of these known fuel lines is that the material of the carrier layer causes high costs.
- the fuel lines must also be attached to the fuel tank via complicated line connections. However, other materials are not suitable for the carrier layer, since there are problems when connecting to the barrier layer.
- a fuel line of the type mentioned at the outset in which the backing layer has polyethylene and an adhesion promoter layer with polyamide materials is provided between the barrier layer and the backing layer.
- the carrier layer can consist entirely of polyethylene materials.
- the carrier layer consists of high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-HD).
- PE-HD high molecular weight polyethylene
- Such a material has sufficient strength at low cost. This material is also particularly suitable for welding
- adhesion promoter layer consists entirely of polyamide materials. This enables the necessary strength of the adhesion promoter layer to be achieved
- adhesion promoter layer consists of PE1 1/12. This material can be particularly suitable as an adhesion promoter layer
- the barrier layer can have polyvinylidemfluoride (PVDF). This material has already been used as a barrier layer
- the barrier layer can also have ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH). This material is also very suitable as a barrier layer
- FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the invention in a schematic illustration
- Figure 2 shows a second embodiment of the invention in a schematic representation
- the fuel line 1 according to the invention is shown schematically in FIG. 1 in accordance with a first embodiment.
- the inner wall of the fuel line 1 is formed by a barrier layer 2 made of polyvinylidemfluoride (PVDF) there is a carrier material 4 made of high molecular weight polyethylene (PE-HD)
- PVDF polyvinylidemfluoride
- PE-HD high molecular weight polyethylene
- the barrier layer prevents permeation of the fuel that is required through the line. It therefore consists of a correspondingly resistant material.
- the adhesion promoter made of polyamide material, in particular PA1 1/12, ensures a firm connection of the barrier layer 2 and the carrier layer 4.
- the carrier layer is made of polyethylene material is produced, there is the possibility of welding the support layer to the material of a tank, since the tanks are usually made of polyethylene materials.
- the adhesion promoter 3 is required to ensure a firm connection between the barrier layer 2 and the support layer
- the novel fuel line can thus be realized with a relatively inexpensive carrier material.
- the use of polyethylene materials enables welding to the wall of the tank
- the carrier material is a polyamide
- the manufacturing costs for producing the fuel line itself and on the other hand the costs for attaching the fuel line to a tank can be reduced.
- the novel fuel line can either be rigid as a tube or else flexible
- FIG. 2 shows a second embodiment of the fuel line according to the invention.
- an inner layer 5 is additionally provided.
- This inner layer also consists of polyamide materials, namely PA1 1/12.
- the barrier layer can be protected from contact with fuel by means of the inner layer. Otherwise, the mode of operation of the second embodiment of the invention is the same as that of the first embodiment of the invention
