- the control unit 10 is a control unit for controlling a drive unit of a motor vehicle. There, the position of a control element which can be actuated by the driver is detected, evaluated and a setpoint value for a torque of the drive unit is determined in a known manner. This is then taken into account, taking into account target values of other control systems received via the input circuit 14, such as a traction control system, a transmission control, etc. and internally generated setpoints (limits, etc.), a setpoint for the torque is determined. In the preferred exemplary embodiment of an internal combustion engine, this is then converted into a target value for the position of the throttle valve, which is set in the context of a position control loop.
