本発明は、 遠赤外光を透過する光学部品に関し、 可視光から近赤外光までの光 に対して遮光性がある遠赤外光学系部品に用いられる光学部品及びその製造方法 に関するものである。 背景技術
赤外光の持つ優れた機能を利用した新たな高機能装置の開発が進んでいる。 例 えば、 そのセンシング機能を活用した実用途には、 物体の表面温度を非接触で測 定する表面温度計、 地球上の資源分布を上空から検知する資源探査システム、 暗 視野中で物体を検知する装置、 人体検知用センサーとしてそれを利用したセキュ リティーシステム、 ガス分析装置等を挙げることができる。 また、 これらの収集 データーを画像処理する赤外画像処理装置、 赤外光の熱エネルギーを利用したハ ィパワーのレーザー加工装置等も知られている。
このように高機能な赤外光利用装置の実用化に伴い、 それらの装置に組み込ま れる光学的な機能を果たす部品、 例えば、 窓材、 レンズ材等の種々の光学部品に 対して高い実用機能と低コスト化が以前にも増して要求されるようになってきて いる。
このような光学部品材料のうち、 波長 8〜 1 2 μ m帯用の部品材料としては、 従来から G e、 Z n S eおよび Z n Sのような無機材料が主に用いられてきた。 しかしながら、 最近は安価かつ加工性に優れたポリエチレンのような樹脂も用い られるようになってきた。 前者の無機材料は、 例えば屋外で用いる機器や振動や 衝撃を受ける車両に搭載される機器のように、 過酷な使用環境に曝される用途で は、 使用する条件によっては、 これら単独では機械的な強度や表面硬度、 さらに は紫外線による表面酸化等の点で不十分な場合もあった。 そこでこのような場合 には、 その表面に耐環境性の膜を被覆する試みもなされてきた。 例えば特開昭 5 6-87002号公報には、 光学部品の表面を赤外線透過性のダイヤモンド様カ 一ボン (d i amo n d— l i k e c a r b o n) の膜で被覆したものが紹介 されているが、 この方法ではコスト高になる。
一方光学部品本体を樹脂製のものにすると、 無機材料に比べ耐熱性はもとより 特に光学部品全体としての機械的な強度の低下等の問題は避けられない。 例えば その透過率を上げるためには全体の厚みを薄くしなければならないが、 機械的な 強度の低下は避けられない。
また、 これらの光学部品材料は、 通常可視光から赤外光の広い波長域の光を透 過する。 このため例えば 8〜12 /imの波長域の人体表面から発する赤外線の選 択的な検知を目的とするような場合には、 波長域の異なる検知対象外の光、 特に 波長 0. :〜 3 /xmの可視光から近赤外光はノイズとなる。 その結果、 検知部以 降の信号処理部に誤動作が生じたり、 バッタグランドが上昇して検知精度が低下 するという問題がある。
'したがってこのようなノイズをカットするため、 従来は光学部品本体の表面に この機能を有するフィルタ一層を形成していた。 しかしながらこの層は、 スパッ タリング法、 真空蒸着法または CVD法のような気相蒸着法で形成されるため、 製造コストが嵩むという問題があった。 そこで所望の波長帯の赤外光の透過率の 低下を極力抑えるとともに、 確実に可視光〜近赤外光を遮蔽する機能を有し、 し かも安価に製造できる光学部品の開発が、 望まれてきた。 つまり、 0. 4〜3 μ mの波長域での透過率はできるだけ低く、 かつ 8〜 12 mの波長域での透過率 はできるだけ高い材料の開発が望まれてきた。
可視光から近赤外光を遮蔽するため、 光学部品本体に粒子を分散させ、 それに 可視光から近赤外光を選択的に吸収させる手段が、 主に樹脂を母材に使って研究 されてきた。 例えば特開昭 61 -39001号公報には、 高密度ポリエチレンの ような樹脂に、 酸化チタン (T i〇2) 、 硫酸バリウム (B a S〇4) 、 べんがら (F e2Os) 、 酸化マグネシウム (MgO) 、 亜鉛 (Zn) 等の無機顔料を分散 させたものが紹介されている。 しかしながらこの場合には、 ノイズとなる 1〜2 μ mの波長の光の遮蔽が不十分であり、 波長 3 μ m以上の赤外光を選択検知する センサーのレンズには向かない。 また特開昭 62-284303号公報には、 同 様の樹脂にジルコニウム (Z r) 化合物を分散させ 7〜14 μπιの波長の光を選 択的に透過させるものが提案されている。 しかしながらこの場合には、 Z r化合 物を 5〜15重量%分散させないと遮蔽できないため、 赤外光の透過率の低下が 大きくなる。
そこで特開平 9— 21701号公報に記載のように、 同様の.樹脂に Z n Sの微 粒子を 4重量%以下分散させたものが提案されている。 また特公平 7— 8656 6号公報には、 同様の樹脂中に四三酸ィ匕鉄 (F e3〇4) 、 カーボンブラック、 酸 化錫 (Sn〇2) で被覆された酸化チタン (T i〇2) 、 酸化ジノレコニゥム (Z r 02) 等の微細な顔料粒子を分散させたものが開示されている。 さらに特開平 8— 54478号公報は、 同様の樹脂製レンズにおいて、 近赤外光を選択的に遮蔽す るためには、 顔料としてセレン化亜鉛 (Zn S e) を用いることが望ましいこと を提案している。 しかしながら可視光〜近赤外光の遮蔽能と遠赤外光の透過率と は、 お互いに相反する関係にあるため、 これらの方法でも両者をバランス良く満 たす光学部品材料は、 未だに得られていない。 さらに、 緻密な Z n S焼結体は、 1〜 14 μ mの広い赤外領域での透過特¾£はよい。 そこで、 特開平 1 1一 295 501号公報には、 Z n S焼結体に含まれる気孔率を制御することにより、 可視 光〜近赤外光を遮蔽し遠赤外光の透過性を向上させた Z n S多結晶焼結体および その製造方.法が提案されている。 この気孔率を制御する方法は、 可視光を散乱さ せることにより見かけ上可視光を遮蔽している。 このため、 センサーなどの用途 で、 このような Z n S多結晶焼結体を窓あるいはレンズとして用いた場合、 窓あ - るいはレンズとセンサーとの距離が長いと可視光は遮蔽されるが、 距離が短い場 合には散乱光をノィズとして検出してしまうという問題があった。 発明の開示
本発明の目的は、 遠赤外光用光学部品に関し、 上記問題点を解消して、 遠赤外 光 (波長 8〜1 2 πι) の透過率を向上させるとともに、 ノイズとなる可視光か ら近赤外光 (波長 0. 4〜3 /zm) の遮光性を向上させた材料ならびにその製造 方法を提供することである。 本発明は、 可視光から近赤外光を遮蔽したセラミックス赤外光学部品に関し、 セラミックスであって、 波長域 8〜 1 2 μ mの領域で、 透過率が 5 0 %以上であ り、 波長 3 μ m以下の可視光および近赤外光の透過率が、 5 0 %以下であること を特徴とする。 また、 前記波長 3 μ πι以下の透過率が、 3 0 %以下であることを 特徴とする。 さらには、 前記波長 3 m以下の透過率が、 5 %以下であることを 特徴とする。 セラミックスは Z n Sを主成分とする。 また、 好ましくは、 Z n S である。 さらにセラミックスは Z n S eもしくは G eであってもよい。
また、 波長 3 μ ιη以下の光を遮蔽する.手段として、 波長 3 μ.πι以下の光を遮蔽 するような添加剤を前記セラミックスに含有させることを特徴とする。 前記添加 剤は、 鉄、 コノ ルト、 銀、 酸化鉄、 カーボンブラック、 黒鉛、 ダイヤモンド、 チ タンブラック、 銅、 ニッケル、 クロム、 金、 マンガン、 モリブデン、 タンダステ ン、 シリコン、 ゲルマニウムの中から選ばれる 1種類もしくは 2種類以上の元素 あるいはその化合物である。 図面の簡単な説明

図 6は、 本発明の実施例 7の光学特性を実線で示す。 比較として従来の G eの 光学特性を破線で示す。 発明を実施するための最良の形態 本発明のセラミックス材料は、 8〜 12 μ mの波長域の遠赤外光での直線透過 率が高いセラミックス、 例えばセレン化亜鉛 (Zn S e) 、 硫化亜鉛 (Zn S) 、 弗化バリヴム (B a F2) およびガリウム砒素 (GaAs) を主成分とする セラミックスならびに珪素 (S i) およびゲルマニウム (Ge) の多結晶体が用 いられる。 これらの中では安価で透過率の波長特性に優れた Z n Sを主成分とし たものや Z n S eもしくは Geが望ましい。 また遠赤外光の透過率レベルを上げ るため、 セラミックスの結晶粒子の平均粒径は、 その光の波長よりも小さい方が 望ましい。 本発明の遠赤外光の波長域では、 結晶粒子の平均粒径は、 8 μπι以 下、 さらには 5 μπι以下であるのが望ましい。 同じ理由でその粒界相の幅も小さ い方が望ましい。 したがって結晶の粒界相を形成する焼結助剤さらには主成分以 外の添加剤や不純物の量は、 できるだけ少ない方が望ましい。 また、 反射防止コ 一ティングを施すと赤外光の透過レベルをさらに上げることができる。 特に G e を用いる場合は、 反射防止コーティングを施さないと本発明の赤外光透過率を得 ることはできない。
0. 4~ 3 μπιの波長の可視光から近赤外光を遮蔽する添加剤としては、 鉄、 コバノレト、 銀、 カーボンブラック、 酸化鉄 (F e Οまたは F e203または F e3〇 4) 、 黒鉛、 ダイヤモンド、 チタンブラック、 銅、 ニッケル、 クロム、 金、 マンガ ン、 モリプデン、 タングステン、 シリコン、 ゲルマニウムのような元素やその化 合物がある。 これらの添加剤は、 可視光から近赤外光を直接吸収して遮蔽する。 使用する添加剤の平均粒径は、 遠赤外光の透過率を維持するために、 その波長以 下、 すなわち 8 μιη以下にするのが望ましい。 また添加剤粒子は、 光学部品の可 視〜近赤外光の遮蔽性能と遠赤外光の透過性能双方のレベルをバランス良く制御 するため、 母材中で可能な限り微細かつ均一に分散させるのが望ましい。 したが つて添加剤の平均粒径は、 小さいほど望ましい。 しかしながら小さくなり過ぎる と個々の粒子が凝集し易くなるので、 その平均粒径の下限は、 0. 01 /im (1 O nm) とするのが望ましい。 さらに好ましい範囲は、 0. 01〜2μπιであ る。
添加剤の添加量も、 光学部品の可視〜近赤外光の遮蔽性能と遠赤外光の透過性 能をバランス良く制御するための重要な因子である。 セラミックスに添加される 1種類の添加剤の添加量は、 通常は 0 . 0 0 1〜5 w t %の範囲とするのが望ま しい。 なおこの場合、 ノイズとなる可視〜近赤外光の遮蔽性能を重視する用途に 対しては、 遠赤外光の透過率は低下しても確実に可視〜近赤外光を遮蔽できる添 カロ剤を、 少量添加するのが望ましい。 このような場合には、 黒化度の高い、 例え ばカーボンブラックや黒 i&のような添加剤を用いるのが望ましい。 またその際の 添加量は、 0 . 0 0 1〜0 . 0 5 w t %の範囲とするのが望ましい。 一方どちら カ と言えば遠赤外光の透光性を高めたい用途に対しては、 それらよりも黒化度が 低く可視〜近赤外光の遮蔽性能には劣るが、 遠赤外光の透過率を余り低下させな い添加剤を、 多めに添加するのが望ましい。 このような添加剤には、 例えば F e 3 〇4や A gのようなものが挙げられる。 その際の添加量は、 0 . 0 1〜5 w t %の 範囲とするのが望ましい。 遠赤外光の透過率を余り落とさないで、 可視〜近赤外 光の遮蔽を行うためには、 このように添加剤の黒化度に応じて添加剤の適正な添 加量を選ぶのが望ましい。 さらに、'可視〜近赤外光の特定の波長を吸収して遮断 したい用途に対しては、 F eや C.oのようなものが挙げられる。 これらの添加剤 は、 可視〜近赤外光の特定の波長域の光を遮蔽するが、 遠赤外光はほとんど吸収 しないので、 前記特定波長の遮蔽効果を高めるために、 添加量は、 0 . 0 1〜5 w t °/0の範囲とするのが望ましい。
さらに、 可視〜近赤外光のより広い範囲の光を遮蔽するためには、 前記添加剤 を 2種類以上添加することが望ましい。' .各添加剤には、 前述のようにそれぞれに 特有の波長の光を遮蔽するあるいは、 可視光から近赤外光全体の透過率を低下さ せる効果がある。 したがって、 添加剤の種類と組合せと添加暈を適時選択するこ とによって、 セラミックス光学部品の光学特性をその用途や目的に応じて制御す ることができる。 この場合の添加量総量は、 0 . 0 1〜1 O w t %の範囲とする のが望ましい。
以下本発明の光学部品材料の製造方法について述べる。 光学部品材料のセラミ ックスは、 前述のような各種の主成分からなるものを用いる。 このセラミックス は、 まず主成分原料粉末に前述のような添加剤粉末を混合し、 所定の形状に成形 した後、 焼結して焼結体とし、 さらに所定の形状に仕上げ加工する手順によって 得られる。 なお添加剤の種類、 平均粒径およびその添加量は、 前述の通りであ る。
本発明のセラミックス光学部品材料の主原料であるセラミックス原料粉末の純 度は、 9 9 . 9 %以上であるのが望ましい。 また、 添加される添加剤粉末も可能 な限り純度が高いものであることが望ましい。 セラミックスには、 その緻密化を 促進させるために、 少量の焼結助剤を含んでもよいが、 その添加量が多くなる と、 粒界相の幅が大きくなり透過率低下の一因となるため好ましくない。 したが つてその添加量は、 少ない方がよい。 無添加が望ましいが、 必要な場合、 その添 加量は、 せいぜい全体の l w t °/0以下とするのが望ましい。 本 明のセラミック ス光学部品は、 従来のものに比べ添加剤粒子が極めて微細かつ均一に分散されて いる。
このような分散状態を得るためには、 主成分粉末と添加剤粉末との混合物の調 製過程において、 微細な添加剤粉末の粒子が可能な限り凝集せず、 主成分のセラ ミックス粉末中に均一に分散させるようにする。 例えば (1 ) 予め主成分と添カロ 剤成分の有機金属化合物等の前駆体を共沈させてから焼成して、 所望の組成の混 合物とする、 (2 ) 予め主成分粒子に添加剤成分粒子またはその前駆体を複合化 した粉末を調製する、 (3 ) 混合に先立ち粒子の凝集を防ぐために、 少量の解膠 剤を添加する、 (4 ) 混合時に添加剤の平均粒径に見合った波長の超音波振動を 加える、 (5 ) 溶媒を用いた混合系での乾燥時の凝集を防ぐため、 粉砕■混合効 果の大きい乾式ポールミル混合を行う、 等々の種タの手段またはそれらを併用す る手段が考えられる。
本発明のセラミックス光学部品の場合、 可視光から近赤外光の広い範囲の光を 遮蔽するためには、 前述のように添加剤を 2種類以上添加することが望ましい。 この時、 添加剤の種類と組合せならびに添加量を選択することにより、 可視光か ら近赤外光の遮光特性と遠赤外光の透過特性の双方を制御して、 使用目的に最適 な光学特性を有するセラミックス光学部品を得ることができる。 尚、 2種類以上 を添加する場合でも、 前述したいずれの混合方法を採ることができる。
以上のように調製されたセラミックス混合粉末を成形した後、 それぞれのセラ ミックス主成分に見合った適正な条件で焼結する。 ただしその過程では、 セラミ ックス母材の透過率を低下させる添加剤以外の不純物の混入を可能な限り避ける のが望ましい。 例えば混合された粉末の充填性を高めるために行う造粒や成形体 の作製は、 乾式で有機質のバインダーの要らない方法とするのが望ましい。 した がって例えば成形は、 静水圧成形によって行うのが望ましい。 さらに焼結時のコ ンテナーや加熱の雰囲気にも、 セラミックスを変質させないように配慮するのが 望ましい。 さらにまた透過率を低下させないために、 焼結助剤の量も少なくす る。 このため常圧下での焼結による緻密化が困難であれば、 型内でのホットプレ スゃ熱間静水圧成形 (H I P ) のような加圧焼結法も有効な手段である。 以上の ように不純物の混入を抑えることによって、 焼結されたセラミックスは、 可視光 から近赤外光を遮蔽し、 遠赤外光の透過性に優れ、 微細な添加剤が均一に分散し た焼結体となる。
以上のようにして得られた焼結体を、 目的とする光学部品の形状に加工する。 例えば、 赤外光センサーに用いられるフィルターの場合には、 焼結時の型を所定 の直径の円形として円板状の焼結体を得た後、 上下面を研磨することにより、 フ ィルターを得ることができる。 また、 レンズの場合には、 同様の円板状の焼結体 を得た後、 球面研磨加工機や超精密旋盤などを用いて所定のレンズ形状を得るこ とができる。 さらに、 必要に応じてそれら光学部品に、 反射防止コーティングを 施せば、 赤外光の透過レベルを上げることができる。 光学部品の透過特性を高め るためには、 該光学部品の両面に反射防止コーティングを施すことが望ましい 力 経済的には少なくとも片面に施す方がよい。 反射防止:?一ティングは、 G e を主成分とする場合には必須である。 実施例 1
セラミックス素材として、 Z n Sを主成分としたセラミックスからなる素材を 調製した。 主成分の原料となる粉末として Z n Sからなり、 その平均粒径が 1 μ m、 純度が 9 9 . 9 9 %以上のものを用意した。 これら主成分粉末に次に記載の 各種添加剤の粉末を添加し、 以下に述べる混合法によって添加剤と主成分とを混 合した。 平均粒径 2 μ m、 純度 9 8 . 2 %以上の鉄粉末と平均粒径 1 μ m, 純度 9 9 . 9 %以上のコバルト粉末ならぴに平均粒径 0 . 5 m、 純度 9 9 . 7 %以 上の F e 3 0 4粉末を用意した。 前記 Z n S粉末に、 鉄粉末を 0 . 2 w t %、 コ バルト粉末を 0. 2 w t %、 F e 3 04粉末を 0. 0 1 w t %配合し、 乾式で 2 0時間ポールミル混合した。
その後混合した粉末をゴム型に振動を加えながら充填し、 さらにゴム蓋をして 真空脱気しつつ封入した。 その後静水圧成形装置内に入れて、 圧力 9 8MP aに て円扳形状に静水圧成形した。
次いでこの成形体を黑鉛製であり上下パンチ付きの一軸加圧方式の型内に配置 し、 0. 1 5 P aの真空雰囲気中にて昇温した。 その後同じ雰囲気中で 1 0 0 0°Cにて保持後、 上パンチによって 4 OMP aの圧力を 1時間加えつつホットプ レス焼結した。 得られた焼結体はほぼ相対密度 1 0 0% (混合組成から算定した 理論密度に対する水中法で実測した焼結体の密度の割合) に緻密化していた。 得られた焼結体の試料の上下面を鏡面仕上げし、 最終的に直径 5 5mm、 厚み 0. 5 mmの円板形状とした。 その後試料の厚み方向の可視光から赤外光領域の 直線透過率をダブルビーム式分光光度計により測定した。 この時、 試料と検出器 との距離は 7 5 mmであった。 結果を図 1に実線で示す。 図 1には、 比較のため に特開平 1 1— 2 9 5 5 0 1号公^に記載されている Z n S (以降従来型 Z n S と呼ぶ) の同じ測定結果を破線で示す。 図 1から判るように、 従来型 Z n Sは波 長 0. 4~ 3 mの範囲の光が大きく透過している。 これに対して、 本発明の Z n Sでは、 波長 0. 4〜 3 / mの範囲の光は、 ほぼ完全に遮断し、 かつ 8〜 1 2 μπιの範囲の光の透過率は、 6 5%以上と良く透過している。 尚、 本実施例で は、 2 μπι付近の光の透過率が約 2. 2%であったが、 本実施例の添加剤の組合 せで、 2 //m付近の光の透過率をさらに低減し、 波長 0. 4〜3 μιηのすベての 範囲の光を効率的に遮蔽するには、 F e 3 O4粉末の添加量を増加させればよ い。 例えば、 F e 3 O 4粉末の添加量を 0. 0 2 w t %にすると、 2 μ m付近の 光の透過率は 0. 5%以下に低減することができた。 し力 し、 この場合 8〜 1 2 μ mの光の透過率も約 5 %低下した。
さらに、 散乱光の評価を 8 30 nm、 1. 5 μ mならびに 1 0 μ mの各波長の レーザーを用いて行った。 この時、 試料と検出器との距離は、 5mmとした。 そ の結果を図 1に併せてプロットした。 ▲が本発明、 暴が従来型 Z n Sを示す。 波 長 1 0 xmでは、 従来型も本発明品も分光光度計による測定結果とほとんど同じ 透過率であるが、 波長が 1. 5 μπι、 830 nmと短くなると、 レーザーを用い て評価した透過率が高くなつていることが判る。 特に従来型 Zn Sは、 その上が り方が顕著であり、 830 nmでは 40%以上の透過率となっている。 このこと は、 従来型の Zn Sを、 例えば赤外線センサーの窓材として使用した場合、 窓と センサーの距離が近いと可視光がノイズとして検出されてセ サーの性能の低下 をまねくことを示している。 これに対して、 本発明品は、 15%以下の透過率で あり、 上記のような性能低下の恐れのないことが判る。 また、 添加剤を含有させ ることにより、 可視光を直接吸収して遮蔽したことが判る。 実施例 2
実施例 1と同じ ZnS粉末を主成分として用意した。 さらに、 平均粒径 1 μ m、 純度 99. 9 %以上のコバルト粉末と平均粒径 2 μιη, 純度 98. 2 %以上 の鉄粉末ならびに平均粒径 0. 01 i m、 純度 99. 8 %以上のカーボンブラッ クを用意した。 前記 Zn S粉末に、 コバルト粉末を 0. 5w t%、 鉄粉末を 0. 5 w t %, カーボンブラックを 0. O O lw t %配合し、 乾式で 20時間ボール ミル混合した。 さらに、 実施例 1と同様に成形、 焼結を行い、 上下面を鏡面加工 し、 最終的に直径 55mm、 厚さ 0. 5 mmの焼結体を得た。 得られた焼結体は ほぼ相対密度 100 %に緻密化していた。
得られた焼結体の試料の直線透過率を実施例 1と同様の方法で分光光度計と.レ 一ザ一により測定した。 結果を図 2に実線で示す。 実線と酾が本発明であり、 破 線と霧が従来型 Z n Sである。 図 2から判るように、 本発明の Z n Sでは、 波長 0. 4〜3 mの範囲の光の透過率は、 20%以下に遮断し、 かづ 8〜1 2 zm の範囲の光の透過率は、 65%以上と良く透過している。 尚、 本実施例の添加剤 'の組合せで、 波長 0. 4〜 3 μ mのすベての範囲の光を効率的に遮蔽するには、 コバルトと鉄は、 それぞれ 0. 01 w t%以上、 カーボンブラックは 0. 001 w t %以上添 ¾1することが必要であった。
図 1と比較すると、 実施例 2の添加剤の糸且合せでは、 波長 2 /zm付近の光の透 過率が約 19 %と実施例 1の添加剤の糸且合せに比べて高いが、 レーザーによる測 定では、 特に 830 nmでの透過率が 10%以下と大きく低下したことが判る。 実施例 3
実施例 1と同じ ZnS粉末を主成分として用意した。 さらに、 平均粒径 0. 5 μπι、 純度 99. 7%以上の F e304粉末と平均粒径 2 μπι, 純度 99. 9 %以 上の銀粉末を用意した。 前記 ZnS粉末に、 F e3O4粉末を0. 05 w t %、 銀 粉末を 0. 05 w t °/0配合し、 乾式で 20時間ポーノレミル混合した。 さらに、 実 施例 1と同様に成形、 焼結を行い、 上下面を鏡面加工し、 最終的に直径 55 m m、 厚さ 0. 5 mmの焼結体を得た。 得られた焼結体の密度は、 4. 09とほぼ 理論密度と同じであり緻密に焼結していることが確認できた。 実施例 1と同様の 方法で、 透過率を分光光度計ならびにレーザーを用いて測定した。 その結果を図 3に示す。 実線と▲が本発明、 破線と書が従来の Zn Sを示す。 分光光度計によ る測定では、 本実施例のものは、 波長◦. 4〜3 μπιの光を 10%以下の透過率 に抑えており、 この波長域がノイズとなつて性能の低下を引き起こす赤外線セン サ一のフィルターなどに好ましいことが判る。 また、 図 1と比較すると、 波長 8 μΐη以下の透過率が抑えられ、 波長 8〜12 //mの領域での透過率が高くなつて いることが判る。 つまり、 添加剤の種類及ぴ組合せを選択することによって遮光 特性と透過特性を制御することができる。 また、 レーザーによる評価でも、 短波 長で、 従来の Zn Sよりもよく光を遮蔽していることが判る。 尚、 本実施例の添 加剤の,組合せでは、 銀と F e 304をそれぞれ 0. 01 w t %以上添加しないと効 果はなかった。 実施例 4
実施例 1と同じ ZnS粉末を主成分として用意した。 さらに、 表 1に示す各添 加剤を用意した。 ZnS粉末に、 表 1に示す各添加剤を 1種類づっ配合し、 乾式 で 20時間ボールミル混合し 4種類の混合粉末を得た。 それぞれの粉末を、 実施 例 1と同様に成形、 焼結を行い、 上下面を鏡面加工し、 最終的に直径 55mm、 厚さ 0. 5 mmの焼結体を 4種類得た。 得られた焼結体の密度は、 いずれも相対 密度がほぼ 100%に緻密化していた。 実施例 1と同様の方法で、 透過率を分光 光度計を用いて測定した。 また、 レーザーによる評価も実施例 1と同様に行つ た。 その結果を図 4に示す。 a ~dが本発明であり、 破線が従来の Z n Sであ る。 レーザーによる評価の結果は、 F eならびに F e304添加のものは記載せ ず、 C o添加のものは、 △で、 A g添加のものは、 で、 従来の Z n Sは秦で示 す。 尚、 波長 1 0 ιιηのプロットは重なっている。

本実施例のように添加剤が 1種類の場合は、 その添加剤によって、 可視光から 近赤外光で、 それぞれ特有の透過特性を示す。 F eを単独で添加すると、 波長 2 〜4 imの範囲の光を選択的に吸収できる。 C oの場合は、 波長 1〜2 μπιの範 囲の光を選択的に吸収する。 A gの場合は、 可視光〜近赤外光の透過率を全体的 に低下させることができ、 波長 0. 4〜 3 μπιの範囲の光の透過率を 5 0%以下 にすることができる。 さらに、 F e3〇4の場合も、 可視光から近赤外光の透過率 を全体的に低下させることができ、 波長 0. 4~3 μιηの範囲の光の透過率を 2 0%以下にすることができる。 そのため、 特に 0. 4〜 3 μπιの範囲の光がノィ ズとして作用するので、 できるだけ遮蔽したい場合には好ましい。 このような用 途としては、 赤タト線センサー用フィルターが挙げられる。 また、 同図に示すよう に前記レーザーによる評価でも、 C o, Agを添加したものは、 可視光の散乱光 が少ないことが判る。 以上のように、 特定の添加剤を 1種類だけ添加すれば、 添 加剤の種類に応じてある特定の波長域の光を遮蔽することができる。 実施例 5 セラミックス素材として、 Zn Sを主成分としたセラミックスからなる素材を 調製した。 主成分の原料となる粉末として Z n Sからなり、 その平均粒径が 1 μ m、 純度が 99. 99 %以上のものを用意した。 添加剤として平均粒径 2 m、 純度 98. 2%の F e粉末と平均粒径 0. 01 μ m、 純度 99. 8%のカーボン ブラックを用意した。 これらの粉末を予め予備粉碎した。 この F e粉末を 0. 5 w t %とカーポンプラックを 0. 001 w t %とを前記 Z n S粉末に配合し、 乾 式でボールミル混合した。 その後、 実施例 1と同様に、 成形、 焼結、 鏡面加工を 行い、 直径 30mm、 厚み 0. 5 mmの焼結体を得た。 この焼結体の透過特性を 実施例 1と同様の分光光度計で測定したところ、 0. 4~1. .4/ mならびに 2. l //m〜4. 1 /imの透過率が 15%以下であり、 8〜12 imでの透過率 力 55 %以上という光学特性であつた。 実施例 6
セラミックス素材として、 Zn S eを主成分としたセラミックスからなる素材 を調製した。 主成分の原料となる粉末として Z n S eからなり、 その平均粒径が 1 μ m、 純度が 99. 99 %以上のものを用意した。 添加剤として平均粒径 2 μ m、 純度 98. 2%の F e粉末と平均粒径 0. 01 ^ m、 純度 99. 8%のカー ボンブラックを用意した。 前記 ZnS e粉末に、 F e粉末を 0.. 5 w t %、 カー ボンブラックを 0. 001 w t %配合し、 実施例 1と同様に、 混合、 成形した。 次いでこの成形体を黒鉛製であり上下パンチ付きの一軸加圧方式の型内に配置 し、 0. 1 5 P aの真空雰囲気中にて昇温した。 その後同じ雰囲気中で 950°C にて保持後、 上パンチによって 4 OMP aの圧力を 1時間加えつつホットプレス 焼結した。 得られた焼結体の密度は、 5. 41と相対密度 100%に緻密化して いた。 さらに、 鏡面加工を行い、 最終的に直径 55mm、 厚さ 0. 5mmの焼結 体を得た。 実施例 1と同様の方法で、 透過率を分光光度計を用いて測定した。 ま た、 前記レーザーによる評価も実施例 1と同様に行った。 その結果を図 5に示 す。 実線と釅が本発明、 破線と口が無添加の Z n S eを示す。 .
図 5に示すように、 何も添加しない ZnS eは、 0. 4μιη以上の波長すなわ ち可視光から赤外光までの広い範囲の光を良く透過するが、 本実施例にように添 加剤を添加すると、 波長 0. 4〜 3 μπιの範囲の光の透過率を 25%以下にで き、 かつ波長 8〜12 μπιの範囲の光の透過率を 60%以上とすることができ る。 また、 レーザーによる評価では、 本実施例の場合は分光光度計による透過率 との差はほとんど見られなかった。 すなわち、 Z n S eを主成分とすれば、 散乱 の影響は受け難いと言える。 実施例 7
セラミックス素材として、 G eを主成分としたセラミックスからなる素材を調 製した。 主成分の原料となる粉末として Geからなり、 その平均粒径が 2 μΐη、 純度が 99. 99 %以上のものを用意した。 添加剤として平均粒径 2 μ m、 純度 98. 2%の F e粉末を用意した。 前記 G e粉末に、 6粉末を0. 5 w t %配 合し、 実施例 1と同様に、 混合、 成形した。 次いでこの成形体を黒鉛製であり上 下パンチ付きの一軸加圧方式の型内に配置し、 0. 15 P aの真空雰囲気中にて 昇温した。 その後同じ雰囲気中で S 50°Cにて保持後、 上パンチによって 4 OM P aの圧力を 1時間加えつつホットプレス焼結した。 得られた焼結体の密度は、 5. 34と相対密度 100%に緻密化していた。 さらに、 鏡面力卩ェを行い、 最終 的に直径 55 mm, 厚さ 0. 5 mmの焼結体を得た。 実施例 1と同様の方法で、 透過率を分光光度計を用いて測定した。 その結果を図 6に示す。 実線と▲が本発 明、 破線と△が Geを示す。 尚、 波長 830 nmと 1. 5 μπιのプロットは、 重 なっている。
図 6に示すように、 何も添カ卩しない Geは、 2 μπι以上の波長すなわち近赤外 光から遠赤外光までの広い範囲の光を良く透過するが、 本実施例にように添加剤 を添加すると、 波長 2〜4 mの範囲の光を選択的に遮蔽することができる。 ま た、 G eは反射係数が高いので、 図 6に示すように波長 8〜 12 μ mの範囲の光 の透過率は 40%程度である。 したがって、 G eを主成分とする場合は、 本発明 の 50%以上の透過率を得るために、 少なくとも片面に反射防止コーティングを 施すことが必須である。 反射防止コーティングは、 既知のいずれの方法でもよ 産業上の利用可能性
本発明のセラミックス光学部品は、 その素材となるセラミックスに可視光から 近赤外光を遮蔽する添加剤を 1種類もしくは 2種類以上従来に無く均一カゝっ微細 に分散添加することにより、 可視光から近赤外光の光を部分的あるいは全体的に 遮蔽し、 遠赤外光の光を良く透過するという独特の光学特性を持った材料であ る。 このため、 高機能な赤外光利用装置に用いられる窓材ゃレンズ材等の光学部 品として、 その目的や用途に最適な材料を提供することができる。

Claims

請求の範囲
1. セラミックスを主成分として用い、 0. 4〜3 μπιの波長域での透過率が 50。/。以下であり、 かつ 8〜 12 μ mの波長域での透過率が 50 %以上であるセ ラミックス光学部品。
2. セラミックスを主成分として用い、 0. 4〜3 /zmの波長域での透過率が 30 %以下であり、 かつ 8〜 12 μ mの波長域での透過率が 50 %以上であるセ ラミックス光学部品。
3. セラミックスを主成分として用い、 0. 4〜3 xmの波長域での透過率が 5 %以下であり、 かつ 8〜 12 mの波長域での透過率が 50 %以上であるセラ ミックス光学部品。
4. 前記セラミックスが、 硫化亜鉛 (Zn S) である請求項 1乃至 3に記載の セラミックス光学部品。
5. 前記セラミックスが、 セレン化亜鉛 (Zn S e)' もしくはゲルマニウム (Ge) である請求項 1乃至 3に記載のセラミックス光学部品。
6. 0. 4〜 3 / mの波長域を遮蔽する添加剤を含有させたことを特徴とする 請求項 1乃至 3に記載のセラミツタス光学部品。
7. 前記添加剤が鉄、 コバノレト、 銀、 カーボンブラック、 酸化鉄、 黒鉛、 ダイ ャモンド、 チタンブラック、 銅、 ニッケノレ、 クロム、 金、 マンガン、 モリブデ ン、 タングステン、 シリコン、 ゲルマニウムの中から選ばれる 1種類もしくは 2 種類以上の元素あるいはその化合物であることを特徴とする請求項 6に記載のセ ラミックス光学部品。
8. 硫化亜鉛 (Zn S) 粉末、 セレン化亜鉛 (ZnS e) 粉末もしくはゲルマ ニゥム (Ge) 粉末に、 添加剤として鉄、 コバルト、 銀、 カーボンブラック、 酸 化鉄、 黒鉛、 ダイヤモンド、 チタンブラック、 銅、 ニッケル、 クロム、 金、 マン ガン、 モリブデン、 タングステン、 シリコン、 ゲルマニウムの中から選ばれる 1 種類もしくは 2種類以上の元素粉末あるいはその化合物粉末を添加し、 混合、 成 形、 焼結することを特徴とするセラミックス光学部品の製造方法。
