Abstract

Eine Einrichtung (20) zur Strommessung auf Basis eines faseroptischen In-Line-Sagnac-Interferometers, das einen Doppelbrechungs-Phasenmodulator (24) zur nichtreziproken Phasenmodulation zweier orthogonaler Polarisationsmoden eines das Interferometer durchsetzenden Lichtstrahls aufweist, zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass der Phasenmodulator ein digitaler Phasenmodulator (24) ist. Von Vorteil ist hierbei, dass der Phasenmodulator (24) direkt digital ansteuerbar ist, was eine Vereinfachung einer entsprechenden Signalverarbeitungs- bzw. Ansteuerelektronik (32) erlaubt.
