Abstract

La présente invention concerne notamment un procédé de préparation d'un copolymère à deux blocs utilisable dans une composition de caoutchouc réticulable au soufre et d'hystérèse réduite à l'état réticulé, un tel copolymère à blocs dans lequel l'un des blocs est constitué d'un polyisoprène et l'autre d'un élastomère diénique autre qu'un polyisoprène, et cette composition de caoutchouc pour bande de roulement de pneumatique. Un procédé de préparation de ce copolymère consiste à copolymériser un ou plusieurs monomères comprenant un diène conjugué autre que l'isoprène à l'aide d'un système catalytique comprenant au moins un solvant hydrocarboné, un composé A d'un métal du groupe IIIA, un composé B d'un métal alcalino-terreux et un initiateur polymérique C comportant une liaison C-Li qui est constitué d'un polyisoprène monolithié destiné à former ledit bloc polyisoprène, la masse moléculaire moyenne en nombre Mn1 dudit bloc polyisoprène étant comprise entre 2 500 et 20 000 g/mol, pour obtenir ledit copolymère dans lequel l'autre bloc constitué dudit élastomère diénique présente une masse moléculaire moyenne en nombre Mn2 comprise entre 65 000 et 350 000 g/mol et une teneur en enchaînements 1,4-trans égale ou supérieure à 70 %.
