Abstract

Ein schwer kopierbares Sicherheitselement (2) umfasst einen Schichtverbund (1), der zwischen zwei Schichten (5, 6) des Schichtverbunds (1) eingebettete, mikroskopisch feine optisch wirksame Strukturen (9) eines Flächenmusters aufweist. In einer von Koordinatenachsen x und y aufgespannten Ebene des Flächenmusters sind in eine Grenzfläche (8) zwischen den Schichten (5; 6) in Flächenteilen eines holographisch nicht kopierbaren Sicherheitsmerkmals die optisch wirksamen Strukturen (9) abgeformt. In wenigstens einem Flächenteil ist die optisch wirksame Struktur (9) eine durch additive Überlagerung einer makroskopischen Überlagerungsfunktion (M) mit einem mikroskopisch feinen Reliefprofil (R) gebildete Beugungsstruktur (S, S*, S**). Sowohl das Reliefprofil (R), die Überlagerungsfunktion (M) als auch die Beugungsstruktur (S, S*, S**) sind Funktionen der Koordinaten x und y. Das Reliefprofil (R) ist eine lichtbeugende oder lichtstreuende optisch wirksame Struktur (9) und behält, der Überlagerungsfunktion (M) folgend, die vorbestimmte Profilhöhe bei. Die Überlagerungsfunktion (M) ist wenigstens stückweise stetig und keine periodische Dreieck-oder Rechteckfunktion. Im Vergleich zum Reliefprofil (R) ändert sich die Überlagerungsfunktion (M) langsam. Bei Kippen und Drehen des Schichtverbunds (1) erblickt der Beobachter auf den beleuchteten Flächenteilen helle, von der Betrachtungsrichtung abhängige, kontinuierlich wandernde Streifen.
