  • the present invention relates to a magneto-optical disk suitable for a magneto-optical reproducing system based on a domain wall displacement type super-resolution reproducing system, so-called DWDD (Domain Wall Displacement Detection). (Detrack)
  • DWDD Domain Wall Displacement Detection
  • This application relates to a magneto-optical disk with improved characteristics.
  • This application is based on Japanese Patent Application No. 2000-12929311 filed on April 30, 2002 in Japan. This application is incorporated herein by reference. 2. Description of the Related Art
  • a magneto-optical disk is known as a rewritable disk-shaped recording medium.
  • Various technologies for increasing the recording density of the magneto-optical disk have been developed. For example, there is one disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 6-290496 (hereinafter referred to as Reference 1).
  • the reproduction method disclosed in Reference 1 uses a magneto-optical disk having at least three layers, a moving layer, a switching layer, and a memory layer, as a magnetic layer, and measures the size of the magnetic domain recorded in the memory layer.
  • DWDD irradiates a laser beam for reproduction at the time of reproducing an information signal, and the magnetic coupling between the memory layer and the moving layer corresponding to the region where the Curie temperature is higher than the switching layer is broken.
  • a magneto-optical disk to which the DWDD reproducing method is applied is composed of three magnetic layers of a moving layer 101, a switching layer 102, and a memory layer 103, as shown in FIG. 21A. .
  • the magneto-optical disc 1 0 0, the memory layer 1 0 3, have different magnetization directions by forward and reverse spin (arrow M 2 direction in FIG.
  • a de Isseki length of the magnetic domain length One night is recorded.
  • the boundary between the magnetic domains 104 having different magnetization directions is a domain wall 105.
  • the direction of arrow R in FIG. 21A indicates the direction of rotation of the magneto-optical disk 1 °.
  • the magneto-optical disk 100 is locally heated when irradiated with the reproducing laser beam BM, so that a temperature distribution as shown in FIG. 21B occurs.
  • the temperature Ts is the Curie temperature of the switching layer 102, and the magnetism disappears in the region Dp in the switching layer 102 having a temperature higher than the temperature Ts.
  • the magnetism disappears in the switching layer 102, so that the exchange coupling force between the region DP in the switching layer 102 where the magnetism has disappeared and the memory layer 103 is increased. Be cut off.
  • the domain wall in the movable layer 101 having a small domain wall coercive force which is the area of the movable layer 101 corresponding to the area DP, is alone. It moves to the high temperature side indicated by the arrow S direction in A.
  • Such movement of the domain wall is caused by the fact that the domain wall of the moving layer 101 existing as an interval corresponding to the recording mark of the memory layer 103 is positioned on the isotherm of the temperature T s as the magneto-optical disk 100 is scanned. It occurs every time the domain wall arrives.
  • the magneto-optical disk 100 reproduces the recorded data recorded in the memory layer 103 in a substantially enlarged manner. Note that the domain wall moves to the high temperature side as described above up to the vicinity of the highest temperature portion, but the highest temperature portion occurs, for example, at a rear position in the beam spot.
  • This DWDD reproduction method can reproduce a very large signal from a minute recording magnetic domain having a period less than the optical limit resolution of the reproduction laser beam, and the wavelength of the reproduction laser beam and the objective lens are considered.
  • This is one of the leading playback methods that can achieve high density without changing the numerical aperture (NA). That is, DWDD According to the raw method, it is possible to greatly improve the recording density in the beam spot scanning direction.
  • the magnetic field modulation recording method allows recording with a small recording mark and reduces the data capacity to be recorded. Can be bigger.
  • a recording laser beam having an output level higher than that at the time of reproduction is applied to the above-described magneto-optical disk 100, and a modulation magnetic field according to a recording signal is applied to obtain a desired recording as a recording mark.
  • Fig. 22 shows the shape of the beam spot SP formed by the recording laser beam formed on the recording track 100a and the recording marks 110 recorded on the memory layer 103 of the magneto-optical disk 100. This shows the relationship with the shape.
  • the magnetic field modulation recording method As shown in FIG. 22, by irradiating a recording laser beam, a high-temperature generated at a substantially central position of the beam spot SP corresponding to the shape of the beam spot SP is obtained.
  • the recording with the modulating magnetic field is sequentially performed on the unit 111, and as a result, the recording mark 110 is recorded. • the shape of the edge portion 110a forming the outer shape of the recording mark 110 is a shape depending on the curvature of the rear end portion of the beam spot SP.
  • the high-temperature portion 111 has a temperature higher than the Curie temperature of the memory layer 103, and is different from the temperature of the high-temperature portion generated by irradiating a reproduction laser beam during reproduction.
  • the movement of the page portion 110a generated by irradiating the laser beam for reproduction and heating is performed.
  • the signal is reproduced by detecting it.
  • the linear density of the disk can be increased by such a DWDD reproduction method.
  • the track width is determined in consideration of crosstalk and cross-write from adjacent tracks.
  • crosstalk and crosstalk We found that light is not necessarily the factor that determines the track width, but the detrack characteristic is the main factor.

Description

AD I P (Address in Pre groove)
誤り訂正方式としては、 AC I R C (Ad vanced Cross Interleave Reed— Solomon Code) を用レヽてレ、る。
次世代 MD 2 でも同様に 4 2 ビッ トの A D I P信号が各 A D I Pセクタのヘッダ部に記録され ている。
I E EE (The Institute of E lectrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. : ァメ リカ電気 · 電子技術者協会) の定める規格に準拠した、 いわゆる I E E E 1 394イン夕フェースのほか、 汎 用の接続ィンタフエースが適用できる。
A C I R Cデコーダ 2 8で処理される。
