Abstract

El refuerzo está concebido para pallets en los que tanto su plataforma de carga (3) como sus patines inferiores (2) son de cartón. El refuerzo consiste en un perfil acanalado (1), de sección en "U", cuya rama media presenta una amplitud acorde con la anchura de los patines (2), cuya longitud es coincidente con la del propio pallet y cuyas ramas laterales presentan una altura considerablemente menor que la de los patines (2). El refuerzo, de cartón laminado, se extiende a todo lo largo del cuerpo del pallet tanto cuando lo hacen también los patines de este último como cuando los patines son discontinuos.

OBJETO DE LA INVENCIÓN
La presente invención se refiere a un refuerzo que ha sido especialmente concebido para los patines de apoyo que incorporan los pallets con la finalidad de distanciar convenientemente con respecto al plano de apoyo la plataforma de carga, para permitir la introducción de la horquilla de una transpaleta o de una carretilla elevadora.
La invención está concebida específicamente para pallets de cartón y tiene como finalidad rigidizar los patines de los mismos incrementando su resistencia a la flexión.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓN
Tanto por motivos económicos como por motivos de conservación medioambiental, la utilización de pallets de cartón es cada vez más generalizada, entendiéndose como cartón un material hecho con fibras recicladas o no recicladas, pero siempre reciclables.
Los pallets de cartón ofrecen, frente a los pallets originales de madera, ventajas que se centran fundamentalmente en términos de peso y reciclabilidad, y en su utilización creciente intervienen además otros condicionantes, como los requisitos impuestos por varios países que exigen una fumigación contra insectos de cualquier pallet de madera, antes de entrar en los mismos, lo que sucede por ejemplo en Australia y en EE.UU.
Como es sabido, en cada pallet de cartón el componente más crítico son los patines que van situados debajo de la superficie o plataforma de carga del pallet y que, como ya se ha apuntado con anterioridad tienen como finalidad permitir el acceso con una transpaleta o una carretilla elevadora, desde dos lados o cuatro lados del pallet.
Para la obtención de estos patines una de las soluciones más habituales consiste en confeccionar cilindros de cartón, a base de arrollamientos espirales de este material, cilindros que en alineación se alojan en el interior de una envolvente prismático-rectangular, pudiendo estas alienaciones de cilindros de cartón ser continua o discontinua, en función de que entre ellas deban establecerse o no accesos para la transpaleta o la carretilla elevadora.
En cualquier caso esta solución, que ofrece una alta resistencia a la compresión, presentan una limitación importante en términos de resistencia a la flexión, problema que se agudiza en los patines de los pallets que ofrecen acceso desde los cuatro lados de los mismos, y sobre todo cuando el pallet ha sido colocado en una estantería con tan solo dos puntos de apoyo.
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓN
El refuerzo que la invención, propone, aplicable a patines como los anteriormente citados o con cualquier otro tipo de estructuración, como por ejemplo cilindros tubulares u otros, incrementa de forma muy considerable la resistencia a la flexión del pallet, manteniendo este último intactas sus prestaciones desde el punto de vista de ligereza y reciclabilidad.
Para ello y de forma más concreta dicho refuerzo consiste en un perfil de configuración en "U", a base de cartón laminado, en el que las múltiples láminas de cartón están unidas mediante cola adhesiva o mediante fusión térmica gracias a la capa de polímeros de plástico que puede llevar cada lámina de cartón.
El grosor o espesor del citado perfil puede estar comprendido entre 2 y 10 mm, en función de las características del pallet desde el punto de vista de utilización del mismo, su anchura será acorde con la anchura del patín del pallet a que se destina, y su altura oscilará entre 10 y 20 mm, de manera que esta reducida altura posibilita la entrada por el lateral del patín de los brazos de una transpaleta o de una carretilla elevadora, cuando dicho patín sea discontinuo al efecto.
El refuerzo se fija al patín preferentemente mediante adhesivo, tanto a través de su rama media como de sus ramas laterales o verticales, aplicando además presión entre patín y refuerzo, tanto en sentido vertical como en sentido transversal.
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LOS DIBUJOS.
Para complementar la descripción que se está realizando y con objeto de ayudar a una mejor comprensión de las características del invento, de acuerdo con un ejemplo de realización práctica del mismo, se acompaña como parte integrante de dicha descripción, un juego de dibujos en donde con carácter ilustrativo y no limitativo, se ha representado lo siguiente:
La figura 1.- Muestra, según una vista en perspectiva, un refuerzo para patines de pallets realizado de acuerdo con el objeto de la presente invención.
La figura 2.- Muestra un detalle esquemático, parcial y en sección de la estructura laminar del refuerzo de la figura anterior.

REALIZACIÓN PREFERENTE DE LA INVENCIÓN
A la vista de las figuras reseñadas, y más concretamente de la figura 1 , puede observarse como el refuerzo que la invención propone consiste en un perfil (1) de sección en "U", cuya rama media, correspondiente la propia referencia (1), es de anchura longitud coincidente con las de los patines (2) del pallet (3) a que se destina, mientras que sus ramas laterales (4) presentan una altura comprendida entre 10 y 20 mm, es decir considerablemente menor que la altura de los patines (2) del pallet (3), lo que permite que, cuando se trate de un pallet (3') con patines (2') discontinuos, en los que la accesibilidad en principio queda definida a través de los cuatros bordes o lados del pallet, por encima del perfil (1), entre éste y la plataforma de carga (3'), se establezcan ventanas (5) de amplitud sobradamente suficiente como para permitir el acceso de los brazos de una transpaleta o una carretilla elevadora.
El citado perfil (1), con un espesor de pared comprendido entre 2 y 10 mm, está obtenido a base de cartón laminado, como se observa especialmente en el detalle de la figura 2, a base de una pluralidad de láminas de cartón (6) que pueden estar unidas entre sí mediante cola adhesiva, o bien mediante fusión térmica gracias a una capa de polímeros de plástico que puede llevar cada lámina de cartón (6).
Mediante esta estructuración laminar para el perfil (1) se consigue una elevada resistencia mecánica del mismo a la flexión, que se transmite a los patines del pallet y consecuentemente a este último en su conjunto, y que resulta especialmente idónea en el caso de patines discontinuos, como el mostrado en la figura 4, en el que el refuerzo actúa como puente de unión para los diferentes segmentos (2') del patín a nivel inferior de los mismos, constituyendo una fijación paralela a la de la propia plataforma de carga (3'), pero sin repercutir negativamente en la posibilidad de acceso para los brazos de la carretilla o transpaleta a través de los propios patines discontinuos, merced a la reducida altura del refuerzo, que deja libres las aberturas (5) para paso de dichos brazos.
Como se desprende de lo anteriormente expuesto el refuerzo que la invención propone es aplicable a pallets (3) provistos de cualquier tipo de estructuración y configuración para sus patines (2-2').

I a.- Refuerzo para patines de pallets, que estando especialmente concebido para pallets en los que tanto la plataforma de carga de los mismos como sus patines inferiores son de cartón, entendiéndose como tal cualquier material hecho con fibras recicladas o no recicladas pero siempre reciclables, y en los que dichos patines, con cualquier estructuración, pueden ser continuos o discontinuos, en función de que se haya previsto el acceso para los brazos de una transpaleta o carretilla elevadora desde dos o los cuatro lados del pallet, se caracteriza por estar constituido a partir de un perfil de configuración en "U", a base de cartón laminado, en el que la amplitud de su rama media es acorde con la anchura de los patines del pallet a que se destina, mientras que la altura de sus ramas laterales es considerablemente menor que la altura de dichos patines, siendo su longitud coincidente con la del propio pallet.
2a.- Refuerzo para patines de pallets, según reivindicación I a, caracterizado porque la altura de las ramas laterales del perfil en "U" está comprendida entre 10 y 20 mm, de manera que en el caso de pallets con patines discontinuos, entre el perfil en "U" y la plataforma de carga del pallet se definen, en correspondencia con las zonas de interrupción de los patines, aberturas dimensionahnente suficientes para paso de los brazos de la transpaleta o la carretilla elevadora.
3a .- Refuerzo para patines de pallets, según reivindicaciones anteriores, caracterizado porque el espesor de pared del perfil en "U" está comprendido entre 2 y 10 mm y las láminas de cartón constitutivas de dicha pared están unidas entre sí mediante cola adhesiva o mediante fusión térmica merced a una capa de polímeros de plástico que puede llevar cada lárrúna de cartón.
