Abstract

すなわち、 予め、 アンテナの偏波角および電波周波数に対応して、 ァ ンテナの指向性(pointing angle)の変化に対するレドーム特性データ を測定しておき、 これから計算したレドーム補正用データ(offset settings)としてアンテナ制御回路 2 8のレドーム捕正テーブル 1 0 1 に保有していることである。 更に詳しくは、 ある周波数 ί及ぴ偏波角 Θ に対するアンテナの指向性 (向き) を種々に変化させて、 レドームのな い時に比べてレドームの影響による位相角のズレ及ぴ通過振幅の変動 を測定する。 通過振幅の変動も測定するのは、位相が変わるとそれにつ れて位相器の通過振幅も変わるからである。 この測定をもとに、 送信側 補正位相角 Δ Φ ί、 受信側補正位相角 Δ Φ Ι?、 送信側補正振幅値 A AL、 受信側補正振幅値 Δ ARを書き込んだレドーム補正テーブルを作成する c このレドーム捕正用データは別途コンピュータに保存しておく力、また 可搬記録媒体 22 (これはどのような媒体でも良い) に記憶しておき、 このレドー Λ捕正用データを前記コンピュータあるいは記憶媒体 2 2 から、アンテナ制御回路 28のレドーム補正テーブル 1 01にデータ伝 送あるいはダウンロードしておくものである。
第 5図は上記レドーム補正テーブル 1 0 1の一例を示す概念図であり、 周波数 ί 1、 f 2、 f 3 ■ ·及び種々の偏波角 Θに対応して送信側補正 位相角 A L、 受信側補正位相角 Δ ΦΙ?、 送信側補正振幅値 AAL、 受信 側補正振幅値 を書き込んだテーブルとした例である。 例えば図に おいて、 偏波角 0が仰角 (E L) 0° 、 方位角 (AZ) 0° のとき送信 側補正位相角 (オフセット) を 1 0° 、 受信側補正位相角を 20° 、 送 信側捕正振幅値 1 d B、受信側捕正振幅値 2 d Bというように記録され ている。 図から明らかなように、 従来から行っている通常の衛星追尾機 能回路 1 0 2の出力と上記レドーム補正テーブル 1 0 1の出力とを合 成回路 1 0 3で合成したものが制御ュニット 104に入る。
ところで、 上述した各系統における可変減衰器 1 9a、 1 9 bによる 送信電力の変更は、アンテナから放射される全電力 E I RPに無視でき ない影響を与える結果となる。送信アンテナから空間のすべての方向に 放射される電波の強さである等価等方放射電力 (E I RP) は、 次式で 表される。
E I RP=アンテナ利得 +送信機の出力電カーレドーム損失 すなわち、 アンテナ利得、 送信機の出力電力、 及ぴレドーム損失が E I RPを決定する重要なファクタになっている。
この発明の最良の実施形態では、送信信号 T Xの入力端に送信機全体の 振幅制御を行う可変減衰器 2 1を設け、アンテナ制御回路 28にこの可 変減衰器 2 1を制御する E I RP制御回路を設けている。 この E I RP 制御回路はレドーム損失テーブル 10 5、アンテナ利得テーブル 1 06、 合成回路 107、 108等により構成され、上述した可変減衰器 19a、 1 9 bによる E I R Pへの影響を、 レドーム損失及びアンテナ利得の形 で補正するものである。 すなわち、 レドーム損失テーブル 105及びァ ンテナ利得テーブル 106内に、 可変減衰器 1 9 a、 1 9 bによる E I RPへの影響を補正値として持ち、 合成回路 107、 108により、 こ れらを参照して共通の可変減衰器 21に E I RP指令を与え、送信機全 体の振幅制御を行うものである。
なお、 この場合の可変減衰器 21の振幅変化量 (ΔΑΤΤ) と上記レド ームの振幅補正値 Δ A L、 AARとの関係は次式で表される。
Δ ATT = - l o g {(10 (AAL/10) + 10 (AAR/10)) /2} 上記の式において、 ΔΑΤΤ、 AAL、 AARは、 いずれも d B値であ り、 例えば Λ AL=+ 2 d Β、 Δ AR=— 2 d Bである場合、 ΔΑΤΤ は一 0. 45 d Bとなる。
これにより、 上述したレドーム補正テーブルによるレドーム補正を、 そ のレドーム補正による E I RPへの影響が出ないようにしながら行う ことができるので、 より高性能なレドーム補正が実現できることとなる。 更にこの発明の最良の実施形態では、このアンテナ制御回路 28に増 幅器補正テーブル 109を備え、 上述した高出力増幅器 1 la、 l ib に有する高出力飽和特性のレドームへの影響を解消している。
すなわち、 高出力増幅器 1 la、 1 lb には、 第 6図に示すように高出 力領域でその出力特性が飽和する傾向がある。出力特性が飽和すると位 相器 9a、 9b からの通過位相 0も低下してしまい、 これが上述した全 体の送受制御系に振幅、位相の両面で影響を与えてしまう。 第 4図の増 幅器補正テーブル 109はこの飽和特性によって生ずる振幅、位相への 影響を補正するデータを持っている。 高出力増幅器 1 la、 1 lb の出 力はそれぞれモ-ターされ、 これを検波器及び A/D変換器からなる制 御回路 1 10を介して増幅器補正テーブル 109に取り込み、その時の 出力電力値に応じた補正テーブル上の値を参照して送信側補正位相角 Δ Φ L 、 送信側補正振幅値 Δ 、 受信側補正位相角 Δ ΦΙΤ、 受信 側振幅値 ΔΑ1Τを指令値として制御ュニット 104に出力するもので める。
制御ュニット 104としては、従来の衛星追尾機能回路 102による各 種制御指令 (Φレ AL、 ΦΙ?、 AR) に加えて、 上記レドーム補正テープ ル 10 1及び増幅器補正テーブル 109を参照しながら制御指令を出 力することとなり、制御ュニット 104からは最終的に送信側可変位相 器 9a、 9 bを制御する補正位相角 ΦΙ^、 送信側減衰器 1 9a、 1 9b を制御する捕正振幅値 AL,、 受信側可変位相器 10 a、 10bを制御す る補正位相角 ΦΙΤ、 受信側減衰器 20a、 2 Obを制御する補正振幅値 AR'を制御指令値として出力するものである。 従って、 これにより、 増幅器の飽和特性をも考慮した、 より高精度なレドーム補正が実現でき るものである。

Claims

請 求 の 範 囲
1 . 移動体に搭載され異方性レドームを有するアンテナ、 上記アンテナ に接続され少なくとも送受各 2系統の制御系を構成する 9 0 ° 位相合 成器、 上記各 2系統のそれぞれの制御系内に挿入された可変位相器、 上 記可変位相器にそれぞれ直列接続された第 1の可変減衰器、上記移動体 と衛星との相互位置関係に応じてアンテナの姿勢制御を行うアンテナ 制御回路を備えた移動体衛星通信装置において、上記アンテナ制御回路 内にアンテナの周波数、偏波角に対するレドーム補正データを記憶した 第 1の補正テーブルを備え、上記第 1の捕正テーブルを参照して上記可 変位相器と第 1の可変減衰器を制御するようにすると共に、上記送信側 9 0 ° 位相合成器の入力側に挿入された第 2の可変減衰器と、上記アン テナ制御回路内に上記第 1の可変減衰器の制御による E I R Pへの影 響を補正値として持つ第 2の補正テーブルとを備え、上記第 2の補正テ '一ブルを参照して上記第 2の可変減衰器を制御するようにしたことを 特徴とする移動体衛星通信装置。
2 . 上記第 1の補正テーブルのレドーム補正データは、 周波数 f 及び偏 波角 Θに対するアンテナの指向性 (向き) を種々に変化させて、 レドー ムの影響による位相角のズレ及ぴ通過振幅の変動を測定することによ つて得られることを特徴とする請求項 1記載の移動体衛星通信装置。
3 . 上記第 2の補正テーブルは、 アンテナ利得テーブルとレドーム損失 テーブルとからなり、上記各テーブル内に上記第 1の可変減衰器による E I R Pへの影響を補正値として持たせたことを特徴とする請求項 1 記載の移動体衛星通信装置。
4 .上記送信側に設けられた可変位相器にそれぞれ直列接続され上記可 変位相器の通過電力を増幅する高電力増幅器と、上記アンテナ制御回路 内に上記増幅器の飽和特性の影響に対する補正データを記憶した第 3 の捕正テ一プルとを備え、 これを参照して上記可変位相器と第 1の可変 減衰器を制御するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項 1記載の移動体
5 . 上記第 3の補正テーブルは、 上記増幅器の飽和特性によって生ずる 上記レドーム補正データへの影響を振幅、位相の補正値として有するこ とを特徴とする請求項 4記載の移動体衛星通信装置。
