Abstract
L'invention concerne un appareil comprenant un outil (2) qui permet de former une surface asphérique sur un matériau (14) et un support destiné à supporter ledit matériau (12) et à le faire pivoter autour d'un axe, cet agencement se présentant de sorte que le déplacement de l'outil (2) est limité par rapport au matériau (14) selon deux axes sensiblement linéaires s'étendant transversalement l'un par rapport à l'autre. Ledit appareil peut être une machine haute performance comprenant un agencement de mesure (18) monté afin de s'étendre sensiblement sur la surface du matériau (14) et servant à mesurer la distance entre cet outil (2) et une région de référence (32) de l'agencement de mesure (18) qui peut se présenter sous forme d'un dispositif métrologique (18) symétrique, ce dispositif étant structurellement non chargé. Cet appareil est sensiblement symétrique dans deux plans sensiblement verticaux et perpendiculaires l'un à l'autre et se coupant.
