Definitions
- the present invention relates to an X-ray tube and a nondestructive inspection apparatus for extracting X-rays from an X-ray exit window.
- X-rays are electromagnetic waves with good transparency to an object, and are often used for non-destructive and non-contact observation of the internal structure of an object.
- An X-ray tube usually generates X-rays by making electrons emitted from an electron gun enter a target.
- the X-ray tube has an electron gun attached to a tubular member that accommodates a target serving as an anode. Electrons emitted from the electron gun enter the target and X-rays are generated from the target.
- X-rays pass through an X-ray exit window provided on the tube axis of the tubular member that accommodates the target, and are irradiated to an external sample. X-rays that have passed through the sample are captured by various X-ray image capturing devices as enlarged perspective images.
