Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Hartmetallkörpers, ein Pulver zur Herstellung des Hartmetalls sowie einen hergestellten Hartmetallkörper. Erfindungsgemäß besitzt der Hartmetallkörper eine Hartstoffphase aus 60 Massen% bis 100 Massen% WC und bis zu 40 Massen% eines Carbids, Nitrids, Carbonitrids oder Oxicarbonitrids mindestens eines der Metalls Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Ta, Cr, Mo sowie eine Binderphase aus Co oder einer Co-Legierung mit bis zu 50 Massen% Ni, Fe oder Cr, die 4 bis 20 Massen% am gesamten Hartmetall ausmacht. Erfindungsgemäß sind mindestens 10 Volumen% des WC durch Reaktion einer im Prinzip ternären W-Co-C-Phase mit Kohlenstoff entstanden, wobei diese ternäre W-Co-C-Phase vor der Sinterung zumindest zwei der Metalle Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, Fe, Ni, Sc, Y, La, Ce, Re, Ru, Rh, Pt in gelöster Form enthält.
