オイル Lは、 例えば容器本体 1 0 3 aの底面に設けられた注入孔 1 1 0から 充填される。 オイル Lを注入する際には、 容器本体 1 0 3の底面を上向きとし、 オイル Lを予め脱泡されて注入される。 そして、 例えば図示しないシールリン グ (Oリング) を注入孔 1 1 0に付設して、 凸状ネジをもつ封止蓋 1 1 1 aに よって容器本体 1 0 3を密閉する。

(従来技術の問題点)
しかしながら、 上記した構成の従来の短軸揺動探触子では、 例えば日本国特 開 2 0 0 5— 3 3 4 1 0 7で指摘するように、 密閉容器 1 0 3内に充填された オイル Lが温度変化等によつ'て膨張 ·収縮し、 密閉容器 1 0 3からのオイル漏 れゃ気泡を発生する問題点があった。 これにより、 超音波の減衰を大きくして 超音波特性を著しく低下させる。
この問題点を回避するため、 例えばオイル Lの注入孔 1 1 0に対して、 これ とは別個に密閉容器 1 0 3に連通し膨張収縮部として機能するダイアフラム 1 1 2を設け、 さらにはこれに泡溜りを付加することが特開 2 0 0 5 - 3 3 4 1 0 7に示されている。 なお、 この公知文献での泡溜りには開閉部を設けるとし ているが、 この開閉部についての具体的な記載がないので、 本発明ではダイァ フラム 1 1 2を設けた場合を基本的に従来例とする。
しかし、 このような従来例では、 注入孔 1 1 0に対して排気孔がなくダイァ フラム 1 1 2を設けるのみなので次の問題を生じる。 すなわち、 注入孔 1 1 0 が排気孔を兼用し、 注入孔 1 1 0と排気口が同一であって、 しかもその口径が 小さレ、。 このため、 予め脱泡されたオイル Lの充填時には、 密閉容器 1 0 3内 の空気が混入して排出しきれず、 空気が気泡としてオイル L中に残存する問題 点を生ずる。
例えば密閉容器 1 0 3へのオイル Lの充填後に、 真空とした脱泡装置によつ て気泡を除去し、 さらにオイル Lを注ぎ足せばよいが、 この場合でも同様に気 泡を生ずる。 また、 通常、 ダイアフラム 1 1 2の先端が注入孔 1 1 0よりも髙 い位置にあるので、 オイル Lの注入時にダイアフラム 1 1 2内に生じた気泡の 除去が困難になる。
これらのことから、 注入孔 1 1 0に加えてダイアフラム 1 1 2を密閉容器 1 0 3に設けただけでは、 オイル Lの充填時に生ずる気泡を除去して、 オイルの みを充満させることが困難となる問題点があった。 これらの問題点は、 圧電素 子群 (配列型) を対象とした短軸揺動探触子に限らず、 例えば圧電素子を円形 状として単板とし、 これをメカニカル ·スキャンとする超音波探触子でも同様 である。 要は、 密閉容器内に超音波媒質としての液体を充填する場合に問題と なる。
(発明の目的)
本発明は超音波媒質としての液体中の気泡の発生を防止し、 超音波特性を良 好にした超音波探触子を提供することを目的とする。

本発明は、 圧電素子を密閉容器内に収容して前記圧電素子の板面をその短軸 方向に二等分する中心線に対して左右に回転 ·揺動するともに、 前記密閉容器 には音響媒質としての液体 (オイル) が充填された超音波探触子において、 前 記密閉容器には前記液体の注入孔とともに排気孔を設け、 かつ、 前記注入孔に はダイァフラムとして機能する柔軟性チューブを接続し、 前記柔軟性チューブ 及ぴ前記排気孔に封止蓋がそれぞれ設けられた構成とする。
このような構成によれば、 注入孔に加えて排気孔を設けたので、 液体の注入 時に密閉容器内の例えば空気が排気孔から排出されやすくなる。 したがって、 液体の注入時における気泡の発生 (混入) を従来例に比較して少なくできる。 さらに、 液体の充填後の例えば脱泡装置 (真空引き) による気泡の除去を容易 にする。
また、 注入孔または排気孔に接続した柔軟性チューブを、 例えばスポィト代 わりとして、 充満させた液体中の気泡を吸引して排出できる。 したがって、 密 閉容器内に気泡の発生を抑制した液体を充満させやすくなる。
さらに、 柔軟性チューブはダイァフラムとして機能するので、 液体の膨張 · 収縮に応じてその内容積が自在に変化する。 これにより、 液体を充填して排気 孔に封止蓋が装着された後は、 液体の膨張 ·収縮があっても気泡の発生を抑制 することができるようになる。 したがって、 超音波特性を良好にする。
また、 本発明では、 前記排気孔にはダイァフラムとして機能する柔軟性チュ ーブが 2個接続され、 その先端に封止蓋が設けられる。 これにより、 特に液体 の充満後には、 2個の柔軟性チューブがダイァフラムとして機能するので、 1 個の場合よりも例えばオイルの膨張 ·収縮量に対する融通性が利く。
さらに、 本発明では、 前記圧電素子は複数個が長軸方向に並べられて圧電素 子群を形成し、 前記中心線は前記圧電素子群の短軸方向を二等分する。 これに より、 短軸摇動探触子として、 三次元データを得ることができて、 その超音波 特性をさらに良好にする。
発明を実施するための最良の形態
F I G . 1 Aは、 本発明の短軸揺動探触子の一実施形態を説明する長軸方向 の断面図である。
本発明の短軸揺動探触子は、 長軸方向に並べられた圧電素子群 2を断面コ字 状とした回転保持台 1の水平部上に設け、 いずれも断面凹状とした容器本体 3 aとカバー 3 bとからなる密閉容器 3内に収容される。 回転保持台 1の両端側 の脚部 1 a, l bにはそれぞれ軸受 7 aを設け、 容器本体 3 aの側壁に長軸方 向に設けられた一対の回転中心軸 7と滑合する。
回転保持台 1の一方の脚部' 1 bに設けられた短軸方向に回転 ·揺動する第 1 かさ歯車 4 aは、 密閉容器 3の底壁を密閉貫通した回転シャフト 8に固着され た 2かさ歯車 4 bと嚙合する。 これにより、 回転保持台 1 (圧電素子群 2 ) は、 圧電素子群 2の短軸方向を二等分する中心線に対して左右に回転 ·揺動する。 ここで、 密閉容器 3内には超音響媒質としての液体例えばオイル Lが充填され る。
そして、 この本発明の実施形態では、 容器本体 3 aの底面に注入孔 1 0とと もに排気孔 1 3を配設する。 注入孔 1 0には、 貫通孔を有する十字状のガイド ネジ 1 4が設けられ、 ネジの設けられたその一端側 (図の上方部) が注入孔 1 0の内周に形成されたネジと螺合する。 注入孔 1 0とガイドネジ 1 4との間に は例えば接着剤を介在させてそれらの間の密閉度をより確実にする。
ガイドネジ 1 4の他端側 (図の下方部) には、 両端が開放した耐薬品性及び 耐油性の強いフッ素ゴムからなる柔軟性チューブ 1 5を接続する。 例えば、 ガ ィドネジ 1 4の他端側に接着剤を介在させて柔軟性チューブ 1 5の一端側が圧 入される。 あるいは圧入後に、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5上から別途バンド等により 密閉する。
そして、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5の他端側が、 例えば接着剤を用いた凸状の封止 蓋 1 1 bによって閉塞 (密閉) される。 排気孔 1 3には、 例えばシールリング (Oリング) を設けて、 雄ネジをもつ封止蓋 1 1 aによって密閉する。
さらに、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5の一端側をガイドネジ 1 4に装着した後、 排気 孔 1 3の封止蓋 1 1 bを開栓した状態で、 先ず、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5の他端側 から超音波媒質としてのオイル Lを例えば 7分目程度、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5内 に注入する。 この場合、 オイル Lは予め脱泡されて注入される。 次に、 オイル Lの注入後、 例えば真空雰囲気とした脱泡装置内で注入時に生じた気泡を除去 する。
次に、 脱泡されたオイル Lを柔軟性チューブ 1 5の他端から注ぎ足して、 排 気孔 1 3から溢れさせる。 この状態で、 シールリングを敷設して封止蓋 1 1 a をネジ止めする。 次に、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5を押圧解放して、 残存した気泡を 吸い込むとともに排出し、 オイル Lをさらに注ぎ足す。 そして、 オイル Lが満 タンになるまで、 これを繰り返す。 最後に、 これを放置して冷却した後、 冷却 による縮小分を追加してオイル L充満させ、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5の他端側を封 止蓋 1 1 bにより密閉する。
このような構成によれば、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5の他端側からのオイル Lの注 入時には、 排気孔 1 3から空気が流出するので、 排気孔 1 3がない従来の場合 に比較して、 注入されたオイル L中に気泡が生じにくい。 したがって、 オイル Lの分量にもよるが、 脱泡装置による気泡の除去を相対的に容易とする。
また、 ダイァフラムとして機能する柔軟性チューブ 1 5を注入孔 1 0に接続 するので、 密閉容器 3内にオイル Lを充満させたとき、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5を スポィト代わりとして、 注入孔 1 0から気泡を取り出しやすい。 したがって、 気泡のないオイル Lのみを密閉容器 3内に充満させやすくなる。
さらに、 柔軟性チューブ 1 5は、 ダイァフラムとして機能するので、 液体の 膨張'収縮に応じてその内容積が自在に変化する。 これにより、 オイル Lを充 填して注入孔 1 0及ぴ排気孔 1 3に封止蓋 1 1 a, l i bが装着された後は、 密閉容器 3内に充填したオイル Lの膨張 ·収縮があっても、 気泡の発生を抑制 する。 これらのことから、 本実施形態では、 短軸摇動探触子の超音波特性をさ らに良好にできる。
上記実施形態では注入孔 1 0のみに柔軟性チューブ 1 5を設けたが、 F I G . 2に示したように、 さらに別の排気孔 1 3に設けてもよい。 この場合、 例えば 排気孔 1 3の柔軟性チューブ 1 5を他の柔軟性チューブ 1 5より短くして、 注 入孔 1 0からの充填時にオイル Lを溢れさせやすくした方がよい。 これらによ り、 特に密閉容器 3にオイル Lを充満して封止蓋 1 1 a, 1 1 bを装着した後 は、 2個の柔軟性チューブ 1 5がダイアブラムとして機能するので、 例えば密 閉容器 3内のオイル Lの膨張 ·収縮量に対する融通性が利くようになる。
また、 本発明を短軸揺動探触子として説明したが、 圧電素子群 2を単板とし た例えば円形状として、 板面を二等分する中心線に対して左右に回転 ·揺動す る一般のメカ-カル ·スキャンの場合でも同様に適用できる。
産業上の利用可能个生
本発明の短軸揺動探触子は、 生体等の被検体の立体画像の形成に広く利用で きる。

圧電素子を密閉容器内に収容して前記圧電素子の板面を二等分する中心線に 対して左右に回転 ·揺動するとともに、 前記密閉容器に音響媒質としての液体 が充填された超音波探触子において、 前記密閉容器に前記液体の注入孔ととも に別途排気孔を設け、 前記注入孔にダイアフラムとして機能する柔軟性チュー ブを接続し、 前記柔軟性チューブ及び前記排気孔には封止蓋がそれぞれ装着さ れることを特徴とする超音波探触子。
