発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0022] 次に、この発明の空気調和機の具体的な実施の形態について、図面を参照しつつ 詳細に説明する。図 1は空気調和機の全体の分解斜視図、図 2は同じくその縦断面 図である。空気調和機は、本体ユニット 10と、フィルタユニット 20と、外装ケース 50と 、清掃ユニット 70とを有している。
[0023] 上記本体ユニット 10は、底フレーム 11を有し、この底フレーム 11に室内熱交換器 1 2、送風ファン(クロスフローファン) 13、電装品箱 14等が装着されたもので、室内空 気を吸い込んで冷房、暖房、除湿等の空調運転を行うようになっており、底フレーム 1 1の下面には吸い込んだ調節後の空気を、室内へと返流させるための空気吹出口 1 5が形成されている。
[0024] 上記フィルタユニット 20は、エアフィノレタ 21、 21と、エアフィノレタ 21、 21を移動させ る移動部 30 · ·と、エアフィルタ 21、 21を移動経路に沿って案内するガイド部 40とを 一体的に備えることによって構成されている。
[0025] まず、上記ガイド部 40について説明すると、このガイド部 40は、エアフィルタ 21、 2 1の移動経路を構成する左右一対のガイドフレーム 22a、 22bを有し、各ガイドフレー ム 22 (以下、左右を特に区別しない場合には、ガイドフレームを符号 22で示す)にそ れぞれエアフィルタ 21が移動可能に支持されている。
[0026] 上記ガイドフレーム 22は、図 3に示すように、下部に位置する本体部 23と、本体部 23から斜め上方に延びるアーム部 24とを有している。本体部 23には、後述するフィ ルタ 21の移動部 30、 30が装着され、また、上記アーム部 24は、その内側に溝状ガ イド 25 (図 2参照)が形成されたものであって、通常の使用時には所定位置にフィノレ タ 21を保持し、フィルタ 21が移動する際にはその両側部をガイドする機能を有してい
[0027] そして、各本体部 23における移動部 30、 30の前面側は、可動ガイド 41となってい る。この可動ガイド 41は、その上端部がラッチ機構を介して横軸 42周りに回転自在 に支持されて、その下端部が前方へ向けて開放可能となっている。すなわち、可動 ガイド 41は、移動経路を構成する閉状態(図 3及び図 5参照)と、移動経路を開放し てエアフィルタ 21の着脱を可能とする開状態(図 4及び図 6参照)との間で切換可能 とされている。
[0028] 上記エアフィルタ 21は、図 8に示すように、格子状の枠体 21aにメッシュ 21bを張り 合わせてなり、全体的に可撓性を有している。枠体 21aの縦方向に沿った両端部に は、その裏面側において複数の突起 35 · ·が縦方向に同一ピッチで突設されている。 [0029] 上記移動部 30は、図 5及び図 9に示しているように、エアフィルタ 21の移動方向に 間隔をあけて配置された上下一対の歯付ベルト用プーリ 31、 32と、下側プーリ 31を 回転駆動するための駆動モータ 26 (図 3参照)と、両プーリ 31、 32間に巻設された環 状の歯付ベルト 33とを有している。そして、下側プーリ 31がモータ 26によって回転駆 動されることで、上側プーリ 32が従動回転し、環状ベルト 33が回転するようになって いる。このような移動部 30は、各フレーム 22において、左右一対のものとして、 2個ず つ配置されている。
[0030] 上記環状ベルト 33には、図 9に示しているように、その全周にわたって、所定の間 隔(等ピッチ)で、嵌合孔 34 · ·が形成されている。そして、エアフィルタ 21の突起 35 · 'を環状ベルト 33の嵌合孔 34 · ·に嵌入させることで、エアフィルタ 21が環状ベルト 3 3に係合され、エアフィルタ 21の突起 35 · ·を環状ベルト 33の嵌合孔 34 · ·から抜き出 すことで、エアフィルタ 21の環状ベルト 33への係合が解除されるようになっている。
[0031] この場合、初期位置(通常の使用位置)として、フィルタ 21の下端部が下側プーリ 3 1の近傍に位置するように取り付けるものとする。そして、この状態では、図 5に示すよ うに、フィルタ 21の上側は、その両側から、フレーム 22のアーム部 24にガイドされ、 支持されている。また、フィルタ 21の下側は、その前面側から可動ガイド 41の裏面に よってガイドされ、支持されている。そして、フィルタ 21は、従来の空気調和機と同様 に、室内熱交換器 12の風上側のほぼ全域を覆って、空気中に浮遊する塵埃によつ て室内熱交換器 12が汚染されるのを防止している。
[0032] このようにして構成されているフィルタユニット 20は、図 2に示すように、ガイドフレー ム 22a、 22bのアーム部 24、 24の上端部に横方向に適宜間隔をあけて設けた係合 爪 28. .を、本体ユニット 10の底フレーム 11の上端部に係止するとともに、本体部 23 、 23の下端部に突設された取付片 29、 29を、本体ユニット 10の底フレーム 11の吹 出口 15の近傍にビス 16 · ·によって固定することで、本体ユニット 10の室内熱交換器 12の前面側及び上面側を覆うようにして、本体ユニット 10の底フレーム 11に着脱可 能に取り付けられている。このため、フィルタユニット 20を本体ユニット 10から取り外し て、代わりに例えばフィルタのみ或いはフィルタと消臭機能を備え付けた他のフィルタ ユニットを取り付けることで、自動清掃機能を持たなレ、空気調和機への機種変更が可 能となり、本体ユニット 10を共有化しながら、低コストで複数機種への対応が可能とな
[0033] 上記外装ケース 50は、本体ユニット 10及びフィルタユニット 20を外側から覆うように して、フィルタユニット 20に着脱可能に取り付けられている。この外装ケース 50は、そ の前面側に開閉可能な前面パネル 60を備えており、この前面パネル 60の裏面側に 、フィルタユニット 20の可動ガイド 41、 41が配置されている。従って、外装ケース 50 全体を取り外さなくても、前面パネル 60のみを開放若しくは取り外すことで、可動ガイ ド 41、 41が露出して開閉操作が可能となり、エアフィルタ 21、 21の着脱を行うことが できるようになつている。
[0034] 上記清掃ユニット 70は、図 10に示すように、エアフィルタ 21から除去した塵埃を収 容するダストボックス 71と、エアフィルタ 21に付着した塵埃を搔き取る一対の回転ブ ラシ 72、 72とを一体的に備え付けることによって構成されている。なお、回転ブラシ 7 2、 72は、図示しない駆動モータ等の駆動部によって回転駆動されるようになってい
[0035] 上記ダストボックス 71は、図 11に示すように、塵埃収納部を有する本体ケース 74と 、この本体ケース 74に回転自在に支持された蓋ケース 75とを組み合わせることで、 横長の箱形に形成されている。蓋ケース 75には、横長の塵埃取入口 76が形成され ている。
[0036] このダストボックス 71は、図 2に示すように、その塵埃取入口 76を移動部 30 · ·の下 方において開放させ、且つ、前面パネル 60と空気吹出口 15との間において空気調 和機の外表面に露出した状態で、外装ケース 50の下部に着脱可能に取り付けられ ている。そして、このダストボックス 71は、前面パネル 60が閉じた状態 (通常の状態)の ままで外装ケース 50に対して着脱可能とされており、従って前面パネル 60を開放し たり、取り外したりするといつた面倒な作業を伴うことなく着脱ができるようになつてい
[0037] 上記回転ブラシ 72は、ダストボックス 71の蓋ケース 75に回転自在に支持された回 転軸 77と、この回転軸 77の外周面に植設されたブラシ毛 78とからなり、そのブラシ 毛 78を塵埃取入口 76から外側に臨ませるようにして、ダストボックス 71内にその長手 方向に沿って収容されている。
[0038] そして、上記のようにして構成された清掃ユニット 70のダストボックス 71を、本体側と しての外装ケース 50から取り外すための取り外し部 80 (図 13、 14 (a)、(b)及び(c) を参照)を備えている。この取り外し部 80は、図 12乃至図 14 (a)、(b)及び (c)に示 すように、操作部材としての押しボタン 81と、この押しボタン 81の押し込み操作により ダストボックス 71を本体外方向すなわち外部へ押し出す押し出し部材 82と、この押し 出し部材 82によるダストボックス 71の押し出しに際して、ダストボックス 71の外装ケー ス 50からの抜け落ちを規制する抜け落ち規制部材 83と、ダストボックス 71の外装ケ ース 50への装着時において、ダストボックス 71を外装ケース 50に保持する保持部材 84とを備えている。
[0039] 上記押しボタン 81は、図 15 (a)及び (b)に示すように、ダストボックス 71の側方に隣 接するようにして、空気調和機の外表面に露出した状態で、外装ケース 50の下部に 設けられている。
なお、取り外し部 80の操作部材としては、このような押しボタン 81だけに限定されるも のではなぐ例えば空気調和機の外表面に露出した状態で配されたレバー等であつ ても良い。
[0040] 上記押し出し部材 82は、図 14 (a)、(b)及び (c)に示すように、外装ケース 50の下 部に突設された支持軸 85と、この支持軸 85周りに回転自在に支持された回転体 86 と力、らなる。回転体 86は、ダストボックス 71の一端部後面に当接するアーム部 87と、 押しボタン 81に突設されたピン 88が揷入された長孔 89を有する連結部 90とを備え ている。従って、押しボタン 81を本体内方向すなわち内部へ押し込むことで、そのピ ン 88及び長孔 89を介して連結された回転体 86が回転し、これに伴ってアーム部 87 がダストボックス 71の一端部後面を外部へ押し出すので、この押し出されたダストボ ックス 71を使用者が手で保持しながら抜き出すことで、ダストボックス 71を取り外すこ とができるようになつている。この場合、押しボタン 81をより内部へ押し込むほど、回 転体 86が大きく回転して、ダストボックス 71をより外方へ押し出すようになつている。 すなわち、押しボタン 81の移動量すなわち押し込み量に応じて、押し出し部材 82に よるダストボックス 71の押し出し量が漸増するようになっている。 [0041] また、上記回転体 86には、係止片 91が延設されており、この係止片 91がダクトボッ タス 71の一端部側面に形成された係止突起 92に係合することで、図 14 (a)に示すよ うに、ダクトボックス 71の外装ケース 50への装着時において、ダストボックス 71が外 装ケース 50から脱落しないように保持される。すなわち、これら係止片 91と係止突起 92とによって、保持部材 84が構成されている。
[0042] 上記抜け落ち規制部材 83は、ダクトボックス 71の一端部側面に内外方向へ沿って 設けられた抵抗板 95と、外装ケース 50の下部に設けられて、抵抗板 95に押圧接触 する板バネ 96とからなる。上記抵抗板 95は、図 12及び 13に示すように、本体内方 向すなわち内部に向力、うにつれて側方への張り出しが徐々大きくなり、その内部側端 部において側方へ大きく張り出した形状となっている。板バネ 96は、全体的に略 U字 状に屈曲形成され、ダストボックスの一端部側面に対向する端部力 S、抵抗板 95をそ の張り出し方向とは反対方向に付勢している。従って、押し出し部材 82によるダスト ボックス 71の押し出しに際して、ダストボックス 71の押し出し量が増えるにつれて、抵 抗板 95が板パネ 96の端部をより大きく側方へ押し込むことになり、これによつて板バ ネ 96の付勢力が大きくなつてダストボックス 71の押し出し抵抗が増し、ダストボックス 71の外部への抜け落ちを規制することができるようになつている。特に、抵抗板 95の 内部側端部が側方へ大きく張り出しているので、ダストボックス 71を取り外す直前に おいて、押し出し抵抗がより強くなり、この場合、押しボタン 81による押し込みだけで は、ダストボックス 71を完全に取り外すことができず、使用者が手でダストボックス 71 を掴みながら外部へ引っ張ることで完全に取り外すことができるようになつており、こ れによってダストボックス 71の不用意な抜け落ちを確実に防止している。
[0043] 上記空気調和機においては、フィルタ 21を図 2及び図 5に示す通常位置に位置さ せて空調運転を行う。そして、運転終了時あるいは所定時間運転を行った後の運転 終了時等に、フィルタ 21の自動清掃作業を行う。以下、この手順について、図 5及び 図 7を参照しながら説明する。なお、説明の便宜上、図 5の状態 (通常運転時の状態 )においてフィルタ 21の下側部分を巻取り始端部と呼び、フィルタ 21の上側先端部 分を巻取り終端部と呼ぶ。まず、図 5の状態から、各モータ 26を駆動し、環状ベルト 3 3を移動させると共に、清掃ユニット 70の回転ブラシ 72を回転駆動する。そうすると、 ベノレト 33と共に、フィルタ 21は下降し、巻取り始端部は下側プーリ 31の周囲を通つ て裏面側(空気流通方向の後側)を上昇していく。この際、回転ブラシ 72は、下側プ ーリ 31とは逆方向に回転し、フィルタ 21表面の塵埃を搔き落とす。またこのとき、フィ ルタ 21の中途部分では、突起 35 · ·が順次、ベルト 33の嵌合孔 34 · ·に嵌合していく 。そして、図 7のように、巻取り終端部が回転ブラシ 72に接触し、この部分の清掃が完 了すると、環状ベルト 33の移動、及び回転ブラシ 72の回転駆動を停止し、往路の清 掃作業を終了する。
[0044] 次に、復路の清掃作業を行うが、この際には、環状ベルト 33の移動方向、及び回 転ブラシ 72の回転方向を上記往路とは逆にする。この場合、環状ベルト 33の移動に よって、フィルタ 21の巻取り終端部が上昇して、環状ベルト 33から離脱する。これは、 環状ベルト 33は、上側プーリ 32によって、裏面側へと湾曲していくが、フィルタ 21は 、それ自体の剛性によって、直立状態を維持しょうとするので、両者の間隔が次第に 広がり、そして、フィルタ 21が、図 5に示す通常使用位置にまで復帰したときに復路 の清掃作業を完了する。
[0045] このような自動清掃作業によって搔き落とされた塵埃は、塵埃取入口 76からダスト ボックス 71内に落下して、ダストボックス 71内に収容される。ダストボックス 71内の塵 埃が溜まってくると、本体側すなわち外装ケース 50からダストボックス 71を取り外して 、ダストボックス 71内の塵埃を捨てるようにしている。
[0046] このダストボックス 71の取り外しに際しては、図 15に示すように、ダストボックス 71に 隣接し、前面パネル 60と空気吹出口 15との間において外表面に露出している押し ボタン 81を押し込むようにする。このとき、上述したように、押しボタン 81の押し込み 量に比例して、ダストボックス 71が外方向へ徐々に押し出されるとともに、ダストボック ス 71の抜け落ちが防止されるので、ダストボックス 71をスムーズに安定して取り外す こと力 Sできる。これにより、ダストボックス 71内の塵埃が飛び散って、空調機周辺や室 内を汚してしまうといった不具合を防止することができる。取り外したダストボックス 71 内の塵埃を処分した後は、再びダストボックス 71を外装ケース 50に取り付ける力 こ の外装ケース 50への装着時には、ダストボックス 71の一端部後面によってアーム部 87が内部へ押し込まれ、これに伴って回転体 86が回転して元に位置に復帰すると、 ダストボックス 71の係止突起 92と回転体 86の係止片 91とが係合して、ダストボックス
71の外装ケース 50からの脱落を防止する。
[0047] 以上にこの発明の具体的な実施の形態について説明したが、この発明は上記形態 に限定されるものではなぐこの発明の範囲内で種々変更して実施することができる。
[0048] 例えば、この発明は、室内空気を吸い込んで、冷房、暖房、除湿を行う空気調和機 だけに限らず、室内空気中に含まれる塵埃を捕捉する空気清浄機能のみを有する 空気調和機に対しても適用可能である。
[0049] さらに、フィルタを移動させて自動清掃作業を行う空気調和機だけに限らず、清掃 ブラシが移動してエアフィルタに付着した塵埃を除去する構造の空気調和機に対し ても適用可能である。
[0050] また、フィルタを移動させる移動部としては、上述した上下のプーリと環状ベルトを 使用したものだけに限らず、例えばフィルタに形成したラックをピニオンに嚙み合わ せて、このピニオンの回転駆動によってフィルタをフィルタユニットの前面側から後面 側へ反転させるように移送する構造のものであっても良ぐまた従来のような巻き取り 方式やループ方式のものであっても良い。
[0051] さらに、ダストボックス及び操作部材は、必ずしも空気調和機の外表面に露出して いたり、前面パネルと空気吹出口との間に配置されていなくても良ぐ例えば前面パ ネノレによって覆われて!/、ても良!/、。
[0052] さらにまた、ダストボックスを本体側から取り外す取り外し部としては、操作部材の操 作によって保持部材の係止片と係止突起との係合を解除することで、押し出しパネの 付勢力によってダストボックスが本体外方向へ向けて飛び出すように構成しても良い 。なお、この場合においても、ダストボックス内の塵埃の飛散を防ぐために、抜け落ち 規制部材は必要となる。なお、操作部材と押し出しパネの両者の機能を兼用するも のとして、例えば家具の扉の開閉機構等に使用されるマグネットキャッチャーを用い るようにしても良い。

[1] エアフィルタ(21、 21)に付着した塵埃を除去するフィルタ自動清掃機能を備えた 空気調和機であって、
上記エアフィルタ(21、 21)から除去した塵埃を収容するダストボックス(71)と、 このダストボックス(71)を本体側から取り外すための取り外し部(80)と を備え、
この取り外し部(80)は、
上記本体側に設けられた操作部材( 81 )と、
上記操作部材(81)の操作により上記ダストボックス(71)を本体外方向へ押し出す 押し出し部材(82)と
を備えたことを特徴とする空気調和機。
[2] 上記押し出し部材(82)は、上記本体側に設けられて、その押し出し部材(82)の押 し出し量が上記操作部材(81)の移動量に応じて漸増するように構成されている請求 項 1に記載の空気調和機。
[3] 上記取り外し部(80)は、上記押し出し部材(82)による上記ダストボックス(71)の押 し出しに際して、上記ダストボックス(71)の上記本体側からの抜け落ちを規制する抜 け落ち規制部材(83)を備えて!/、る請求項 1に記載の空気調和機。
[4] 上記取り外し部(80)は、上記ダストボックス(71)の上記本体側への装着時におい て、上記ダストボックス(71)を上記本体側に保持する保持部材(84)を備えて!/、る請 求項 1に記載の空気調和機。
[5] 上記ダストボックス(71)及び操作部材(81)が、外表面に露出した状態で設けられ てレ、る請求項 1に記載の空気調和機。
