熱交換器及びその製造方法
技術分野
[0001] 本発明は、第 1流体と第 2流体間で熱交換を行わせる熱交換器とその製造方法に 関するものである。
背景技術
[0002] この種熱交換器、例えば、オフセット型のフィンを備えた熱交換器は、複数の扁平 容器と、この扁平容器内の長手方向一端部に形成された流入口と他端部に形成さ れた流出口との間に設けられたオフセット型のフィンから構成されている。当該扁平 容器内には一端部の流入口から入り、上記フィン間を経て他端部に向力、い、流出口 力、ら出る流体の流路が形成されている。
[0003] 上記フィンは、断面台形の凸条の両側壁にその肩部から底板部にかけて一対の切 り込みを一定の間隔で入れ、同部分を内側に折り曲げることにより形成されて、係る オフセット形状を呈している。そして、通常上記扁平容器を複数積層し、各扁平容器 内に形成された流路内に交互に第 1流体と第 2流体として流して、両流体間で熱交 換可能な構成とされていた (例えば、特許文献 1参照)。

発明の開示
発明が解決しょうとする課題
[0004] ところで、上記フィンは、当該流路を流れる各流体の流れに対して、フィンが直交、 若しくは、平行の何れか一方の向きとなるように偏平容器内に配置されている力 フィ ンを流体の流れに対して直交するよう配置した場合、流体と当該フィンとが衝突する 面積が多いため、流体がフィンにより流路全体に分散され易ぐ流路全体に均一に 流体を流すことが可能となる力 S、圧力損失が著しく増大するという問題が生じていた。
[0005] 一方、フィンを流体の流れに対して平行となるよう配置した場合、流体とフィンとの 衝突する面積が少ないため、圧力損失は小さいが、流体が流路全体に分散され難 いため、流体を流路全体に均一に流すことができず、熱交換器としての性能が著しく 低下してしまう。
[0006] 本発明は、係る従来の課題を解決するためになされたものであり、流体の不均一な 速度分布を改善しながら、圧力損失の増大を抑制できる熱交換器を提供することを 目白勺とする。
課題を解決するための手段
[0007] 本発明の熱交換器は、第 1流体の流路と第 2流体の流路を有して両流体間で熱交 換を行わせるものであって、流路が、一端部に流体の流入口と他端部に流体の流出 口を有する扁平容器と、この扁平容器内に設けられたフィンから構成されるもので、 流入ロカ、ら流出口に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対してフィンが直交するフィン直交領 域と、流入ロカ 流出口に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対してフィンが平行となるフィン 平行領域とを備えたことを特徴とする。
[0008] 請求項 2の発明の熱交換器は、請求項 1に記載の発明においてフィン直交領域が 流入口と流出口側に設けられ、各フィン直交領域間にフィン平行領域が設けられて いることを特徴とする。

発明の効果 [0013] 本発明によれば、第 1流体の流路と第 2流体の流路を有して両流体間で熱交換を 行わせるものであって、流路が、一端部に流体の流入口と他端部に流体の流出口を 有する扁平容器と、この扁平容器内に設けられたフィンから構成される熱交換器にお いて、流入口から流出口に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対してフィンが直交するフィン直 交領域と、流入口から流出口に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対してフィンが平行となるフ イン平行領域とを備えたので、フィン直交領域により流体を流路全体に分散させると 共に、フィン平行領域にて流体を円滑に流すことができる。
[0014] これにより、フィン直交領域により不均一な速度分布を改善しながら、フィン平行領 域により圧力損失が増大する不都合を改善することができるようになる。
[0015] 特に、請求項 2の如くフィン直交領域を流入口と流出口側に設け、各フィン直交領 域間にフィン平行領域を設けることで、流入口及び流出口付近における偏流を効果 的に改善し、流路全体を有効に活用することが可能となるので、熱交換性能の向上 を図ることができるようになる。
[0016] 更に、請求項 3の如くフィンを、矩形波状を呈するオフセット型のフィンとすれば、フ インと扁平容器とが面接触するので、当該熱交換器の耐圧性を向上することができる 。これにより、請求項 4の如く少なくとも第 1流体或いは第 2流体の何れか一方に二酸 化炭素のような高圧流体を用いることも可能となる。
[0017] 請求項 5の発明の熱交換器の製造方法によれば、請求項 1乃至請求項 4の何れか に記載の発明の熱交換器において流体の流れ方向に直交する面における当該流 体の最大流速と最小流速との差を、当該流体の流れ方向に対して積算し、全体に対 するフィン直交領域の比率を増加させていったときに、積算値の傾きが緩慢となる変 曲点を最大値として、フィン直交領域の比率を零より大きく最大値以下の範囲内で設 定することで、不均一な速度分布を改善できて、且つ、圧力損失の少ない高性能の 熱交換器を製造することが可能となる。
[0018] また、請求項 6の如く扁平容器とフィンとを別々に形成し、形成された当該フィンを 扁平容器に収容することにより熱交換器を製造するものとすれば、大幅な金型の変 更をせずにアプリケーションや使用条件等に応じて、フィン直交領域とフィン平行領 域の割合を自在に設定することが可能な熱交換器を製造することが可能となる。 発明を実施するための最良の形態
[0019] 本発明は、流体間で熱交換を行わせる熱交換器に関して、フィンを流体の流れに 対して直交するよう配置した場合に生じる圧力損失の増大する不都合と、フィンを流 体の流れに対して平行となるよう配置した場合に生じる流体の偏流を改善するため に成されたものである。流体の不均一な速度分布を改善しながら、圧力損失を抑制 するとレ、う目的を、流入口から流出口に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対してフィンが直交 するフィン直交領域と、流入ロカ 流出口に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対してフィンが 平行となるフィン平行領域とを備えることにより実現した。以下、図面に基づき本発明 の実施の形態を詳述する。
[0020] 図 1は、本発明の一実施例の熱交換器の構成を模式的に示した斜視図である。熱 交換器 τは、冷凍サイクル装置の放熱器や蒸発器等として使用されるもので、例えば 、冷媒 (第 1流体)と水 (第 2流体)間で熱交換を行わせるものである。当該熱交換器 T は、ユニット U1とユニット U2を交互に積層して接合し、一端のユニット U1にカバープ レート(図示せず)を取り付け、両端のユニット Ul、 U2に継手を取り付けて成るもので ある。
[0021] ユニット Ul、 U2は、一面(上面)が開口し、底面の周縁力も鉛直方向に起立した周 壁部 3を有する偏平容器 1及び偏平容器 2と、両偏平容器 1、 2内に収容される複数 枚のフィン 5等から構成される。本実施例の偏平容器 1、 2及びフィン 5はステンレスを 素材とし、ステンレスの板材を加工することにより形成されたものである。
[0022] 上記偏平容器 1、 2には長手方向の一端部に鉛直方向に貫通する 2つの穴 6、 7が 形成され、他端部にも同様に穴 8、 9が形成されている。一端部に形成された穴 6、 7 と他端部に形成された穴 8、 9とは偏平容器 1、 2の長手方向の中心部から対称となる 位置に形成されている。また、偏平容器 1の両端部にはガイドプレート 10が配設され ている。このガイドプレート 10には丸穴 12と U字状の切込穴 13が形成されている。当 該ガイドプレート 10の丸穴 12は、偏平容器 1の穴 6、或いは、穴 8と略対応する位置 に形成され、切込穴 13は、偏平容器 1の穴 7、或いは、穴 9と略対応する位置に形成 されている。
[0023] 同様に、偏平容器 2の両端部にはガイドプレート 11が配設され、このガイドプレート 11にも丸穴 12と U字状の切込穴 13が形成されている。当該ガイドプレート 11の丸穴 12は、偏平容器 2の穴 7、或いは、穴 9と略対応する位置に形成され、切込穴 13は、 偏平容器 2の穴 6、或いは、穴 8と略対応する位置に形成されている。即ち、ガイドプ レート 10とガイドプレート 11では、丸穴 12と切込穴 13が反対側に形成されている。
[0024] 両ガイドプレート 10、 11は各容器1、 2内に流体を誘導するためのガイド部材であり 、後述するフィン 5と略同一の厚みを有する。
[0025] そして、ガイドプレート 10の丸穴 12は、偏平容器 1に形成された穴 6、或いは、穴 8 に連通し、互いに連通している穴 6と丸穴 12、及び、穴 8と丸穴 12は、後述するュニ ット Ul、 U2の積層状態において、両ユニット Ul、 U2を接続する通路と通路を接続 する流体の通過路を形成するためのものである。

[0029] 一方、前記フィン 5は、対向する一組の辺が偏平容器 1、 2の周壁部 3の高さ寸法と 略同一で、且つ、対向する他の一組の辺が偏平容器 1、 2内の幅(内幅)と略同一の 寸法にて構成されて、偏平容器 1内に収容された状態で、フィン 5の上記一組の辺の 一方が偏平容器 1、 2の底部に当接し、他方が上面に位置して、上記他の一組の辺 が周壁部 3に当接するよう偏平容器 1、 2内の両端部に配設されたガイドプレート 10、 11間に順次収容されている。即ち、一つの偏平容器 1、 2内には、一端部のガイドプ レート 10、 11から他端部のガイドプレート 10、 11間に複数個のフィン 5が順次収容さ れて、周壁部 3と当接する辺が当該周壁部 3とロウ材にて接合されている。
[0030] 各フィン 5は、図 2乃至図 3に示すように図断面台形の凸条 5Tの両側壁 5aに、その 肩部から底板部 5bにかけて一対の切り込みを所定間隔で入れ、同部分を内側に屈 曲した形状であり、この凸条 5Tは、オフセット形状を呈している。即ち、当該フィン 5 は、略矩形波状を呈するオフセット型のフィンである。このように、フィン 5を矩形波状 に形成することで、前述の如くユニット U1とユニット U2を交互に積層して接合した際 、各フィン 5 · ·と扁平容器 1、 2とが面接触することとなる。このようにフィン 5を矩形波 状に形成してフィン 5と扁平容器 1、 2とが面接触するよう構成することで当該熱交換 器 Tの耐圧性を向上させることができる。係る耐圧性の向上により、当該熱交換器 T 内に二酸化炭素のような高圧流体を流すことも可能となる。尚、図 3において、 4は流 体の流路である。
[0031] そして、上述したユニット U1とユニット U2は図示しない枠体内に交互に積層され、 隣接する各ユニット U1とユニット U2の当接面をロウ材にて接合することにより熱交換 器 Tが構成される。また、図 1に示すように、各ユニット U1はユニット U2を挟んで、流 入口 15と流出口 16が反対側となるように積層される。同様に、各ユニット U2もュニッ ト U1を挟んで、流入口 15と流出口 16が反対側となるように積層される。これにより、 図 4に示すように熱交換器 T内を、第 1流体が各ユニット U1を蛇行状に流れ、第 2流 体が各ユニット U2を蛇行状に流れるようになる(例えば、図 4の白抜き矢印が第 1流 体の流れで、図 4の黒塗り矢印が第 2流体の流れとなる)。また、ユニット U1とユニット U2とを交互に積層することで、図 4に示すように隣接する各ユニット Ul、 U2内を第 1 流体と第 2流体とが交互に対向して流れるようになり、両流体間で効果的に熱交換が 行わせることが可能となる。
[0032] ところで、各ユニット Ul、 U2の偏平容器 1、 2内に収容される複数のフィン 5は、従 来、図 5に示すように流入口 15から流出口 16に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対して平行 となるよう配置される力、 (以降、 Vタイプのユニットと称す)か、或いは、図 6に示すよう にフィン 5が流入口 15から流出口 16に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対して直交するよう 配置されたもの(以降、 Hタイプのユニットと称す)か何れか一方から構成され、これを 上述したように積層することで熱交換器を構成して!/、た。
[0033] ここで、ユニット Ul、 U2を Vタイプのユニットにて構成した場合の各ユニット Ul、 U 2を流れる各流体の速度分布を図 7及び図 8に示す。尚、熱交換器に流れる流体の 流量を 2L/minとした。図 8において、縦軸は流体の流速、横軸は各ユニット Ul、 U 2の幅方向距離(即ち、図 8に示す各ユニット Ul、 U2の一端 1から他端 2までの長さ 寸法である)を示している。各ュニまた、ット Ul、 U2の Defはユニット Ul、 U2を流体 の流れ方向に直交する面における流体の最大流速 Umaxと最小流速 Uminとの差 であり、これを流体の流れ方向に対して積算すると、流体の流速偏差量が算出できる 。即ち、当該速度偏差量が大きいほど、流路 4における流体の流れが不均一で偏流 力 S生じていることとなる。両図 7、 8から流路 4を流れる流体の流速は、流入口 15及び 流出口 16付近が最も速ぐ当該流入口 15と流出口 16を略直線で結んだ流路 4に流 体の流れが集中して、その周囲では流体の流速が低下することが明らかである。特 に、ユニット Ul、 U2の流入口 15と反対側となる位置、及び、流出口 16と反対側とな る位置、即ち、図 7において、下端の左側付近と上端の右側付近では流体が殆ど流 動しな!/、死水域が発生して!/、ることがわかった。

[0043] 図 16、或いは、図 17に示すように、第 3のユニット、若しくは、第 4のユニットから構 成した場合においても、 Vタイプのユニットより、流体を流路 4全体に流すことが可能と なる。また、第 3のユニットを用いた場合、熱交換器の入口側と出口側の流体の圧力 差は 7945Paとなり、第 4のユニットを用いた場合には、 9398Paとなり、上記同様に Hタイプのユニットから構成された熱交換器より圧力損失を抑えることができることが わかった。しかしながら、第 1のユニット Ul、 U2にて構成された熱交換器を用いた場 合より圧力損失は著しく増大してレ、ることがわかった。
[0044] 次に、フィン直交領域 Hを流入口 15側に配置し、フィン平行領域 Vを流出口 16側 に配置した場合について検討する。先ず、全てのフィン 5に対する流入口 15側に配 置されたフィン直交領域 Hの比率を 6. 9%、流出口 16側に配置されたフィン平行領 域 Vの比率を 93. 1 %としたユニット(以降、第 5のユニットと称する)とから熱交換器を 構成して、流れ場を調べた。この場合、当該第 5のユニット Ul、 U2を流れる流体の 速度分布を図 18の(A)及び図 19に示す。尚、図 18において、(B)は、第 5のュニッ トと略同比率のフィン直交領域 Hとフィン平行領域により構成された第 1のユニット U1 、 U2の速度分布の結果(図 12の(A)と同様)であり、図 18の(A)との比較のために 同図上に記載した。この場合、第 5のユニット Ul、 U2から成る熱交換器に流れる流 体の流量は上記と同様に 2L/minとした。

[0047] 次に、第 5のユニット Ul、 U2からフィン直交領域 Hとフィン平行領域 Vの比率を変 更して各ユニット Ul、 U2を構成し、当該ユニット Ul、 U2により構成された熱交換器 に流体を流して、流れ場を調べた。この場合、全てのフィン 5に対する流入口 15側に 配置されたフィン直交領域 Hの比率を 13. 8%、流出口 16側に配置されたフィン平 行領域 Vの比率を 86. 2%とした(以降、第 6のユニットと称する)。この場合、当該第 6のユニットを流れる流体の速度分布を図 20の(A)及び図 21に示す。尚、図 20にお いて、(B)は、第 6のユニットと略同比率のフィン直交領域 Hとフィン平行領域により構 成された第 2のユニット Ul、 U2の速度分布の結果(図 14の(A)と同様)であり、図 1 8の(A)との比較のために同図上に記載した。この場合、第 6のユニット Ul、 U2から 成る熱交換器に流れる流体の流量は上記と同様に 2L/minとした。

[0049] 以上より、流入口 15側にフィン直交領域 Hを配置し、流出口 16側にフィン平行領 域 Vを配置した場合、 Vタイプのユニットから成る熱交換器より、流体の不均一な速度 分布を改善でき、且つ、 Hタイプのユニットから成る熱交換器より、圧力損失を抑える こと力 Sできること力 Sわ力、つた。し力もながら、流出口 16側の偏流は殆ど改善されず、フ イン直交領域 Hの比率を増減した場合であっても、流入口 15側の偏流を改善するこ とができないことが明ら力、となった。
[0050] 次に、フィン平行領域 Vを流入口 15側に配置し、フィン直交領域 Hを流出口 16側 に配置した場合について検討する。先ず、全てのフィン 5に対する流入口 15側に配 置されたフィン平行領域 Vの比率を 91. 3%、流出口 16側に配置されたフィン直交 領域 Hの比率を 6. 9%としたユニット(以降、第 7のユニットと称する)とから熱交換器 を構成して、流れ場を調べた。この場合、当該第 7のユニット Ul、 U2を流れる流体の 速度分布を図 22の(A)及び図 23に示す。尚、図 22において、(B)は、第 7のュニッ トと略同比率のフィン直交領域 Hとフィン平行領域により構成された第 1のユニット Ul 、 U2の速度分布の結果(図 12の(A)と同様)であり、図 22の(A)との比較のために 同図上に記載した。この場合、第 7のユニット Ul、 U2から成る熱交換器に流れる流 体の流量は上記と同様に 2L/minとした。

[0053] 次に、第 7のユニット Ul、 U2からフィン直交領域 Hとフィン平行領域 Vの比率を変 更して各ユニット Ul、 U2を構成し、当該ユニット Ul、 U2により構成された熱交換器 に流体を流して、流れ場を調べた。この場合、全てのフィン 5に対する流入口 15側に 配置されたフィン平行領域 Vの比率を 86. 2%、流出口 16側に配置されたフィン直 交領域 Hの比率を 13. 8%とした(以降、第 8のユニットと称する)。この場合、当該第 8のユニットを流れる流体の速度分布を図 24の(A)及び図 25に示す。尚、図 24にお いて、(B)は、第 8のユニットと略同比率のフィン直交領域 Hとフィン平行領域により構 成された第 2のユニット Ul、 U2の速度分布の結果(図 14の(A)と同様)であり、図 2 4の(A)との比較のために同図上に記載した。この場合、第 8のユニット Ul、 U2から 成る熱交換器に流れる流体の流量は上記と同様に 2L/minとした。
[0054] 図 24及び図 25に示すように、第 8のユニットから構成した場合、上記第 7のユニット から構成した場合と同様に、流出口 16側では流体の偏流が少なぐ流体が流路 4の 幅方向(図 24の横方向)に分散されて、均一に流れることがわかった。また、流入口 1 5側では、上記第 7のユニットから構成した場合と同様に、流入口 15付近に流体の流 れが集中して、その周囲に行くほど流体の流速が低下していることがわかった。従つ て、流入口 15側では、速度が流体の流速は均一と成らず、偏流が発生することがわ 力、つた。また、当該流入口 15付近の偏流は、上記第 7のユニットの場合と殆ど変わら なかった。尚、第 8のユニットで構成された熱交換器における入口側と出口側の流体 の圧力差は 6166Paとなった。

[0059] 図 26から、各熱交換器の圧力損失はフィン直交領域 Hの増加に伴い増大して、そ の変化の割合は略比例的であることがわかった。一方、各熱交換器における流体の 流速偏差量(上記流体の流れ方向に直交する面における当該流体の最大流速と最 小流速との差を、当該流体の流れ方向に対して積算した積算値)は、フィン直交領域 Hの増加に伴い低下する力 その値は傾きが緩慢となる変曲点を有することがわかつ た。具体的に、フィン直交領域 Hを流入口と流出口側に配置し、各フィン直交領域 H 間にフィン平行領域 Vを配置したユニットにより構成された熱交換器の結果 (D1)を 用いて説明すると、フィン直交領域 Hの比率がゼロとなる値 100%からフィン直交領 域 Hの比率を増加していくと、流速偏差量は急激に減少し、フィン直交領域 Hの比率 が 10 %を超えた付近 (約 15%)から傾きが緩慢となり、比率が 30 %を超えると、流速 偏差量は約 10%でほぼ一定となった。
[0060] 即ち、フィン直交領域 Hの比率を 30%より高くしても流体の速度偏差量の変化は殆 ど見られないことが明らかである。また、フィン直交領域 Hを流入口 15に配置し、フィ ン平行領域 Vを流出口 16に配したユニットより構成された熱交換器を用いた場合も 同様にフィン直交領域 Hの比率を増加させていくと、傾きが緩慢となる変曲点(図 26 に示すようにフィン直交領域 Hの比率が 28%付近)を有することがわかった。従って 、熱交換器 Tのフィン直交領域 Hの比率が零より大きぐ変曲点となる 28%以下とす ることが、圧力損失を抑えながら、不均一な速度分布を改善することができる最適範 囲となる。このような最適な範囲となるようにフィン 5全体に対するフィン直交領域 Hの 比率を設定し、熱交換器 Tを製造することで、高性能の熱交換器が製造可能である。

[1] 第 1流体の流路と第 2流体の流路を有して両流体間で熱交換を行わせるものであ つて、前記流路が、一端部に流体の流入口と他端部に流体の流出口を有する扁平 容器と、該扁平容器内に設けられたフィンから構成される熱交換器において、 前記流入口から流出口に向力、う流体の流れ方向に対して前記フィンが直交するフ イン直交領域と、前記流入口から流出口に向かう流体の流れ方向に対して前記フィ ンが平行となるフィン平行領域とを備えたことを特徴とする熱交換器。
[2] 前記フィン直交領域が前記流入口と流出口側に設けられ、各フィン直交領域間に 前記フィン平行領域が設けられて!/、ることを特徴とする請求項 1に記載の熱交換器。
[3] 前記フィンは、矩形波状を呈するオフセット型のフィンであることを特徴とする請求 項 1又は請求項 2に記載の熱交換器。
[4] 前記第 1流体、若しくは、第 2流体は、二酸化炭素であることを特徴とする請求項 1 乃至請求項 3の何れかに記載の熱交換器。
[5] 前記流体の流れ方向に直交する面における当該流体の最大流速と最小流速との 差を、当該流体の流れ方向に対して積算し、全体に対する前記フィン直交領域の比 率を増加させていったときに、前記積算値の傾きが緩慢となる変曲点を最大値として 、前記フィン直交領域の比率を零より大きく前記最大値以下の範囲内で設定すること を特徴とする請求項 1乃至請求項 4の何れかに記載の熱交換器の製造方法。
[6] 前記扁平容器と前記フィンとを別々に形成し、形成された当該フィンを前記扁平容 器内に収容することを特徴とする請求項 1乃至請求項 5の何れかに記載の熱交換器 の製造方法。
