Abstract
入口セルが出口セルに比べ開口率が高いハニカムにおいて、クラックの発生を効果的に抑制する。 端面の面積が異なる2種類の貫通孔4(4a,4b)、5(5a,5b)が隔壁6を隔てて複数併設されて柱状のハニカムセグメント3が構成され、該ハニカムセグメント3は、一方の端面においては、端面の面積の小さい貫通孔5bが目封止されて開口率が高い入口側が形成され、他の端面においては、端面の面積が大きい貫通孔4bが目封止されて開口率が低い出口側が形成されており、複数の前記ハニカムセグメント3が接合材2を介して、長手方向の向きを揃えて固着されて構成されるハニカム構造体1であって、前記接合材2を焼結した際のヤング率が前記ハニカムセグメント3を焼結した際のヤング率よりも低く、出口側の端面の接合材2の接合幅が入口側の端面の接合材2の接合幅よりも大きいハニカム構造体1である。
