Abstract

画素回路(10)内のスイッチ用TFT(12,13)をオン、スイッチ用TFT(14)をオフさせて、駆動用TFT(11)の閾値電圧に応じた電圧(VDD+Vx)をデータ線(Sj)に出力し、ソースドライバ回路のスイッチ(21,22)をオンさせて、コンデンサ(26)に、電圧(Vx)を保持する。次にスイッチ用TFT(13)をオフし、スイッチ(21~24)の状態を切り替えて、データ線(Sj)に電圧(Vdata+Vx)を印加する。さらにスイッチ用TFT(12)をオフ、スイッチ用TFT(14)をオンさせ、有機EL素子(15)に駆動用TFT(11)のゲート端子電圧(Vdata+Vx)によって定まる電流を供給する。これにより、画素回路(10)の規模を増大させずに、データ電圧の振幅を効率よく利用し、駆動用TFT(11)の閾値電圧のばらつきを高い精度で補償する。
