Abstract

主体金具（５０）の先端側に設けられた筒状部（６０）の先端面（５７）には、軸線（Ｏ）方向前方へ延びる突出部（６１～６５）が突出形成されている。突出部（６１～６５）は発火部（７０）の中央Ｓを中心に周方向に等間隔に配置されており、エンジンヘッドへのスパークプラグ（１００）の取り付け状態（取付ねじの締め具合の違いによって生ずる周方向におけるずれの状態）がどのような状態であっても、いずれかの突出部の側面や端面が燃焼室内の気流に流される燃料（可燃混合気層）の流通方向上流側を向くので、その突出部に衝突した可燃混合気層の反射方向に発火部側へ向かう方向成分をもたせ、発火部（７０）の周囲に漂わせられる。
