Abstract

 通信装置が伝送路に直列に接続された場合でも、各通信装置に接続された機器が同期し、通信周期を短くすることができる通信装置・方法を提供する。  第2通信装置(2)に記憶装置を経由しない中継路(260)および折り返し経路(261)と、それらの経路切り替えスイッチ(250)を備え、第1通信装置(1)が伝送路(5)から折り返し経路(261)の切り替えを指示して伝送路遅延時間を計測して第2通信装置(2)に通知し、通信周期毎に第1通信装置の基準タイムを送信し、第2通信装置は、該伝送路遅延時間と該基準タイムで、自己の基準タイムを補正する。  また、第1通信装置(1)は同期通信中に新たな第2通信装置(2)を発見したときも、通信周期の残り時間を用いて伝送路遅延計測を行う。  さらに、第1通信装置、第2通信装置は、フレーム開始信号を検出して転送遅延を短くする手段を備える。
