Abstract
捲回型電極電池は、それぞれ電極活物質層が形成された帯状の正極板および負極板を、帯状のセパレータを介して捲回して偏平形状に形成された捲回型の電極体14と、正極端子20および負極端子22が設けられ、電極体および電解液を内部に収納したケース10と、を備えている。正極板および負極板は、セパレータに当接する電極活物質層が形成された帯状の電極部と、電極体の軸方向に一方側にセパレータから突出しているとともに電極活物質層が形成されていない側縁部と、を有している。側縁部は、正極板および負極板の長手方向に沿って間隔を置いて並んだ複数の凸部を形成し、正極板および負極板を重ねて捲回することにより、正極板の複数の凸部が互いに積層され正極タブ16を形成し、負極板の複数の凸部が互いに積層されて負極タブ18を形成している。
