Abstract
本発明は、NOx触媒に吸蔵されたNOxをより好適に還元することを目的とする。本発明では、NOx還元制御の実行条件が成立したときのNOx吸蔵量が所定吸蔵量より多いときにはO2濃度低下手段によって排気のO2濃度を低下させると共に還元剤供給手段によってNOx触媒に還元剤を供給することでNOx還元制御を実行する(S105、S106)。また、NOx還元制御の実行条件が成立したときのNOx吸蔵量が所定吸蔵量以下のときはO2濃度低下手段によって排気のO2濃度を低下させることなく還元剤供給手段によってNOx触媒に還元剤を供給することでNOx還元制御を実行する(S106)。
