Abstract

 本発明は、高強度であり且つ外側継手部材のトラック溝の開口端部での焼入れによる変形を抑制可能な等速自在継手を提供する。本発明では、外側継手部材のカップ部1aにおけるトラック溝1dが高周波焼入れによる硬化層8aを有するアンダーカットフリー型の等速自在継手において、逃げ面1fにおけるトラック溝1dの溝底cを起点として開口端面1eを軸方向に突出量tで突出させた。ここで前記突出量tは、トルク伝達用ボールの直径をdとした場合に、t=0.037d~0.185dの関係を満たす。突出部1iにおける開口端面1e及び開口端面1eに連続するカップ部1aの外周面1jが、焼入れ硬化されていない非硬化層を有する。
