Abstract

 上位レイヤの符号化対象画像領域と被参照画像領域との間の明るさの変化を示す比例係数とオフセット係数からなる重み係数を算出して、その重み係数を探索対象となる被参照画像領域の画像信号に演算して動きの推定を行うことで動きベクトルを算出し、その動きベクトルの指す被参照画像領域の復号信号にその重み係数を演算して動き補償を行うことで予測信号を生成する動画像スケーラブル符号化方法。直下レイヤにおいて符号化対象画像領域と空間的同位置に存在する直下画像領域の符号化情報に基づいて、前記重み係数のデータ構造を決定し、直下画像領域が直下レイヤにおいて画面間予測を行っていた場合に、直下画像領域が動き予測の予測参照先とした直下レイヤ被参照画像領域を同定し、その直下レイヤ被参照画像領域と空間的同位置に存在する上位レイヤの画像領域の直流成分に対して、直下画像領域が重み付き動き予測の際に利用した重み係数を演算したものを直下画像領域の直流成分とみなして、前記重み係数を算出する。
