Abstract

 本発明の液晶表示装置に備えられたアクティブマトリクス基板(10)において、ソースバスライン(12)(信号配線)は、ゲートバスライン(11)(走査配線)の延伸方向に隣接して配置された2つの画素電極(14・14)の両方と部分的に重畳し、かつ、上記2つの画素電極(14・14)の境界から各画素電極の中央方向へ入り込むように配置されている。さらに、ソースバスライン(12)は、画素電極(14)との重畳部の少なくとも一部において、液晶層内の液晶分子の配向を制御するために対向基板に形成されたリブ(26)(配向変更部)と重なるように配置されている。これにより、信号配線を画素電極の中央方向へ寄せて配置した場合においても開口率を低下させることなく、画像の表示ムラを低減させることのできる液晶表示装置を実現する。
