- the piezoelectric element 22 is plate-shaped and has a first main surface 22a and a second main surface 22b. As shown in FIG. 3, the piezoelectric element 22 is formed in a rectangular shape in plan view. However, the planar view shape of the piezoelectric element 22 is not particularly limited.
- the piezoelectric element 22 includes a plate-like piezoelectric body 23 and electrodes 24a and 24b. In FIG. 1 and the like, illustration of the electrodes 24a and 24b is omitted.
- the piezoelectric body 23 may be made of, for example, piezoelectric ceramics. Specific examples of piezoelectric ceramics include, for example, lead zirconate titanate ceramics.
- the piezoelectric body 23 is polarized in the thickness direction.
- the piezoelectric body 23 has a first main surface 23a and a second main surface 23b that face each other.
- An electrode 24 a is provided on the first main surface 23 a of the piezoelectric body 23.
- an electrode 24 b is provided on the second main surface 23 b of the piezoelectric body 23.
- the electrodes 24a and 24b are made of a conductive material such as a metal or an alloy.
- the formation method of the electrodes 24a and 24b is not particularly limited.
- the electrode 24 can be formed by, for example, baking a conductive paste, or a thin film forming method such as vapor deposition, sputtering, or plating.
- the metal plate 21 is bonded to the second main surface 22 b of the piezoelectric element 22. Specifically, the metal plate 21 is joined to the electrode 24b.
- the metal plate 21 and the electrode 24b may be insulated from each other or may not be insulated from each other.
- the thicknesses of the piezoelectric element 22 and the metal plate 21 are not particularly limited.
- the thickness of each of the piezoelectric element 22 and the metal plate 21 is preferably such that the piezoelectric power generation apparatus 1 vibrates with the rotation of the rotating body.
- a weight 25 is attached to one end 20b of the piezoelectric element 22.
- the weight 25 is for promoting vibration of the power generation element 20.
- the weight 25 is not necessarily provided.
- the power generating element 20 is supported by the package member 10 in a cantilever manner.
- the package member 10 is made of an insulating material. Examples of the material of the package member 10 include insulating ceramics.
- the package member 10 includes a bottom wall portion 11 as a restriction portion, a side wall portion 12 as a support portion, and a ceiling portion 13 that faces the bottom wall portion 11.
- the bottom wall portion 11, the side wall portion 12, and the ceiling portion 13 form a space 14 in which the power generating element 20 is disposed.
- the bottom wall portion 11 and the side wall portion 12 are integrally formed.
- the ceiling part 13 is formed separately from the side wall part 12 and the bottom wall part 11.
- the side wall part 12 as a support part supports one end part 20a in the length direction of the power generation element 20 in a cantilever manner. Thereby, in a state where the piezoelectric power generation device 1 is stationary, the power generation element 20 is installed substantially in parallel with the bottom wall portion 11 and the ceiling portion 13.
- the distance L2 between the power generation element 20 and the bottom wall portion 11 is set to be shorter than the distance L1 between the power generation element 20 and the ceiling portion 13.
- the distance L2 may be 0.
- the piezoelectric element 22 is weak against tensile stress as compared with compressive stress. Specifically, the piezoelectric element 22 exhibits brittleness when a tensile stress is applied. For this reason, for example, as shown in FIG. 6A, even if the power generating element 20 is displaced so as to be convex toward the metal plate 21, and the compressive stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 22, the piezoelectric element 22 is not easily damaged. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 6B, when the power generating element 20 is displaced so as to be convex toward the piezoelectric element 22 and tensile stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 22, the piezoelectric element 22 is easily damaged. . This tendency is particularly remarkable when the piezoelectric body 23 is substantially made of piezoelectric ceramics.
- the distance between the piezoelectric element 211a and the package and the distance between the metal plate 211b and the package are substantially the same.
- the piezoelectric element 211a and the metal plate 211b can be largely displaced in both a direction in which a tensile stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 211a and a direction in which a compressive stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 211a.
- the piezoelectric element 211a and the metal plate 211b may be greatly displaced in a direction in which a tensile stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 211a, and a large tensile stress may be applied to the piezoelectric element 211a.
- the distance L2 between the power generation element 20 and the bottom wall portion 11 is set to be shorter than the distance L1 between the power generation element 20 and the ceiling portion 13.
- the bottom wall part 11 functions as a restricting part, and the power generating element 20 is restricted from being greatly displaced toward the metal plate 21 side where tensile stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 22. Therefore, a large tensile stress is suppressed from being applied to the piezoelectric element 22. Therefore, the mechanical durability of the piezoelectric generator 1 can be enhanced.
- the piezoelectric element 22 is particularly brittle when a tensile stress is applied. Therefore, the technique of this embodiment is particularly effective when the piezoelectric body 23 is substantially made of piezoelectric ceramics.
- the distance L ⁇ b> 2 between the power generation element 20 and the bottom wall portion 11 A method of reducing both the distance L1 between the ceiling portion 13 and the ceiling portion 13 can also be considered. However, when both the distances L1 and L2 are reduced, the amount of displacement of the power generating element 20 is reduced. For this reason, the power generation amount tends to be small.
- the distance L2 between the power generation element 20 and the bottom wall portion 11 is set small, but the distance L1 between the power generation element 20 and the ceiling portion 13 is set large.
- the power generation element 20 can be largely displaced toward the piezoelectric element 22 side. Therefore, compared with the case where both distance L1, L2 is made small, the electric power generation amount in the electric power generation element 20 can be made comparatively large. That is, according to the present embodiment, it is possible to obtain a relatively large power generation amount while enhancing the mechanical durability of the piezoelectric power generation device 1.
- the direction of the electric field generated in the piezoelectric body 23 when the power generating element 20 is displaced to the side where the tensile stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 22 and when the power generating element 20 is displaced to the side where the compressive stress is applied to the piezoelectric element 22. Is reversed. For this reason, generation
- the distance L2 between the power generation element 20 and the bottom wall portion 11 is small. Further, from the viewpoint of suppressing the power generating element 20 from being displaced to the side where the tensile stress is applied to the piezoelectric body 23, the distance L2 is preferably small. However, when the distance L2 decreases, the displacement of the power generation element 20 is suppressed, and the power generation efficiency tends to decrease. For this reason, from the viewpoint of obtaining high power generation efficiency, the distance L2 is preferably longer to some extent.
- FIG. 7 is a cross-sectional view of the piezoelectric power generation device 2 according to the second embodiment.
- the package member 10 includes the ceiling portion 13 in addition to the bottom wall portion 11 and the side wall portion 12 has been described.
- the package member 10 does not necessarily have the ceiling portion 13.
- the power generation element 20 may be disposed so as to contact the bottom wall portion 11. Specifically, as shown in FIG. 7, the power generating element 20 may be disposed such that the metal plate 21 contacts the surface 11 a of the bottom wall portion 11.
- the piezoelectric power generation device 2 of the present embodiment has a simple configuration as compared with the piezoelectric power generation device 3 shown in the following third embodiment, and can be manufactured easily and inexpensively.
- FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view of the piezoelectric power generation device 3 according to the third embodiment.
- the power generating element 20 may be in contact with the bottom wall portion 11 in part.
- the power generation element 20 may be in contact with the bottom wall portion 11 at the end 20b on the free end side.
- the power generation element 20 is disposed above the surface 11 a of the bottom wall portion 11.
- An air layer is interposed between the power generation element 20 and the surface 11a.
- a convex contact portion 11 b is formed on the bottom wall portion 11. The contact portion 11b is in contact with the end portion 20b on the free end side of the power generation element 20.
- the contact part when providing the contact part which contact
- the power generation element 20 may be in contact with the ceiling portion 13 like the piezoelectric power generation element 4 shown in FIG. That is, the bottom wall 11 may be attached to the inner peripheral surface of the tire, or the ceiling 13 may be attached to the inner peripheral surface of the tire.
- the surface of the package member 10 that contacts the power generation element 20 may not be flat.
- the surface 13a of the ceiling portion 13 is formed in a shape that curves toward the power generation element 20 as the distance from the portion of the side wall 12 where the power generation element 20 is attached. For this reason, the power generation element 20 is urged toward the piezoelectric element 22 by the ceiling portion 13 as the contact portion. Therefore, a compressive stress is always applied to the piezoelectric element 22. Therefore, it is possible to more reliably inhibit the tensile stress from being applied to the piezoelectric element 22, and the mechanical durability of the piezoelectric generator 4 can be further enhanced.
- FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view of the piezoelectric power generation device 5 according to the fifth embodiment.
- buffer members 40 a and 40 b may be disposed between the power generation element 20 and the package member 10.
- the buffer member 40 a is disposed between the ceiling portion 13 as the restricting portion and the metal plate 21.
- the buffer member 40 b is disposed on the inner surface of the bottom wall portion 11.
- the buffer members 40a and 40b By arranging the buffer members 40a and 40b, a direct collision between the power generation element 20 and the package member 10 can be suppressed. Therefore, the force applied to the power generation element 20 can be more effectively reduced. Therefore, the mechanical durability of the piezoelectric generator 5 can be further enhanced.
- buffer member 40 for example, silicon rubber or the like can be used.
- a conductive layer 41 bonded to the surface of the piezoelectric element 22 opposite to the metal plate 21 may be further provided. That is, the conductive layer 41 may be bonded to the surface of the electrode 24a. By doing so, for example, even when a crack or the like occurs in the piezoelectric element 22, it is possible to ensure electrical connection more reliably.
- the material of the conductive layer 41 is not particularly limited.
- the conductive layer 41 may be made of, for example, a metal or an alloy.
- the conductive layer 41 is preferably a relatively thick metal foil or alloy foil. This is because the electrical connection can be particularly ensured.
- the planar shape of the piezoelectric element 22 is not particularly limited. As shown in FIG. 11, the planar shape of the piezoelectric element 22 may be, for example, a circle.
