Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for reporting the power headroom of a mobile station that switches and transmits a plurality of mobile station transmission modes having different maximum transmittable power values, and bases an uplink signal by switching the plurality of mobile station transmission modes.
- the present invention relates to a mobile station apparatus that transmits to a station.
- LTE-Advanced an expanded version of 3GPP LTE (3rd Generation Partnership Project Long Long Term Evolution), switches between SC-FDMA (Single Carrier-Frequency Division Multiple Access) and OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) on the uplink. Transmission has been studied (for example, see Non-Patent Document 1).
- the advantage of OFDMA is that frequency scheduling gain can be obtained because frequency resource allocation can be performed more flexibly than SC-FDMA. Accordingly, OFDMA can improve throughput performance.
- SC-FDMA is that, compared with OFDMA, PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) and CM (Cubic Metric) indicating the ratio between the peak and average power of the transmission signal are small. Therefore, when power amplifiers having the same maximum transmission power standard are used for SC-FDMA and OFDMA, the power amplifier back-off required for transmitting a transmission signal without distortion should be smaller in SC-FDMA. Can do. Therefore, SC-FDMA can increase the maximum power that can be actually transmitted, so that the coverage performance can be improved.
- Hybrid transmission can obtain respective advantages by adaptively switching between SC-FDMA and OFDMA according to the communication environment of the mobile station.
- PHR power headroom
- OFDMA is applied to a mobile station having a sufficient PHR because transmission power is low
- SC-FDMA is applied to a mobile station having a large PHR because transmission power is large.
- Non-Patent Document 2 describes the definition of PHR and the transmission condition of PHR according to Equation (1).
- PHR is power headroom [dB]
- P MAX maximum transmission power [mW]
- M is the number of allocated frequency resource blocks
- P 0 is an offset (parameter signaled from the base station) [dB]
- PL is path loss.
- ⁇ is a weighting factor for path loss
- ⁇ MCS is an MCS-dependent offset
- f ( ⁇ i ) is a transmission power control value that is closed-loop controlled.
- Non-Patent Document 2 discloses that when the PHR is Y [dB] or less, or when the path loss changes by X [dB], the mobile station notifies the base station of the PHR. It also describes that PHR is notified at intervals of N frames (Y, X, and N are parameters). *
- the maximum transmittable powers of SC-FDMA and OFDMA are not only different from each other, but are also different for each mobile station. Therefore, in order to switch the transmission mode of the mobile station between SC-FDMA and OFDMA with high accuracy, the base station needs to know both SC-FDMA PHR and OFDMA PHR.
- the base station knowing the SC-FDMA and OFDMA PHR is realized by the mobile station reporting both the SC-FDMA and OFDMA PHR to the base station.
- the base station can obtain only one of SC-FDMA and OFDMA PHR by one report. Therefore, in this case, the base station cannot perform switching between SC-FDMA and OFDMA based on PHR at an appropriate timing.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a control signal transmission method and a mobile station apparatus capable of accurately switching a plurality of mobile station communication modes having different maximum transmission power values while suppressing an increase in signaling overhead. It is.
- the power headroom reporting method of the present invention is a power headroom reporting method of a mobile station that switches and transmits a plurality of mobile station transmission modes having different maximum power values that can be transmitted. Transmitting the power headroom information of any of the mobile station transmission modes to the base station, and transmitting the difference information regarding the maximum value between the mobile station transmission modes to the base station before the reporting period begins. And the step of performing.
- the mobile station apparatus is a mobile station apparatus that switches a plurality of mobile station transmission modes having different maximum transmittable power values and transmits an uplink signal to a base station, and in the reporting period, the plurality of mobile stations Report means for reporting any power headroom information in the transmission mode to the base station, and notification for notifying the base station of difference information regarding the maximum value between mobile station transmission modes before the reporting period starts Means.
- the present invention it is possible to provide a power headroom reporting method and a mobile station apparatus capable of accurately switching a plurality of mobile station communication modes having different maximum transmission power values while suppressing an increase in signaling overhead. be able to.

- Diagram for explaining communication procedure between mobile station and base station The figure which shows a maximum transmission power information table and a difference information table Table used for reporting maximum transmission power information and difference information according to Embodiment 2
- the present inventor found that the difference in power headroom between a plurality of mobile station transmission modes is caused only by the maximum value of power that can be transmitted in each transmission mode, and is different for each mobile station device. It has been found that the value is constant regardless of the value. And if the base station is notified of the difference information in advance, the base station reports only the power headroom information of one mobile station transmission mode from the mobile station device, so that the base station can The present inventors have found that information can be calculated and have arrived at the present invention.

- the present invention is not limited to this.
- the multicarrier transmission mode even in the non-OFDM mode, for example, a mode in which a plurality of SC-FDMA signals are transmitted at different frequencies, or one SC-FDMA.
- a mode for example, clustered SC-FDMA or clustered DFT-S-OFDM
- the number of mobile stations 100 is one.
- the difference information between the maximum transmission power of 2 and the maximum transmission power of 4 is reported to the base station 200.
- the MIMO transmission mode may be used as one of a plurality of mobile station transmission modes having different maximum transmission powers. Since a plurality of data streams multiplied by different weights are multiplexed and transmitted by each antenna, PAPR or CM increases as in multicarrier transmission. Therefore, the MIMO transmission mode can be handled in the same manner as the OFDM mode.
- the increase in PAPR or CM differs for each weight matrix, that is, for each precoding matrix (PrecodingPreMatrix). Therefore, the mobile station 100 may report the difference information of the maximum transmission power in the MIMO transmission mode with respect to the maximum transmission power in the SC-FDMA (1-antenna transmission) mode for each precoding matrix to the base station 200.
- the second embodiment relates to variations of Capability (mobile station capability) reports. Note that the configurations of the mobile station and the base station in the second embodiment are not different from those in the first embodiment.
- FIG. 7 is a table used for reporting maximum transmission power information and difference information according to the second embodiment.
- the performance of mobile stations is classified into classes according to combinations of maximum power and backoff. That is, when a report using this table is performed, mobile station (UE) performance information reported from the mobile station to the base station is defined by a combination of maximum power and backoff. Specifically, the maximum transmission power information setting unit 101 of the mobile station 100 uses a class number that matches the performance of the own station for reporting.
- the larger power class is combined with the larger back-off class. This is because a larger back-off is generally required as the maximum power is larger.
- each functional block used in the description of the above embodiment is typically realized as an LSI which is an integrated circuit. These may be individually made into one chip, or may be made into one chip so as to include a part or all of them.
- the name used here is LSI, but it may also be called IC, system LSI, super LSI, or ultra LSI depending on the degree of integration.
- the method of circuit integration is not limited to LSI, and implementation with a dedicated circuit or a general-purpose processor is also possible.
- An FPGA Field Programmable Gate Array
- a reconfigurable processor that can reconfigure the connection and setting of circuit cells inside the LSI may be used.
- the power headroom reporting method and mobile station apparatus of the present invention are useful as those capable of accurately switching a plurality of mobile station communication modes having different maximum values of transmittable power while suppressing an increase in signaling overhead. is there.
