Abstract

　電動パワーステアリング装置(1) が、トルクセンサ(20)を収容する筒状のセンサハウジング(34)と、減速機構(24)を収容するギヤハウジング(32)と、減速機構(24)の両側でステアリングシャフト(3) を回転可能に支持する上軸受(40)および下軸受(41)とを備える。ギヤハウジング(32)は、下軸受(41)を保持する筒状の下ハウジング(37)と、上ハウジング(36)とを含む。上ハウジング(36)は、内筒(67)と、外筒(68)と、内筒(67)および外筒(68)間を連結する環状の連結壁(69)とを有する。外筒(68)が、下ハウジング(37)に圧入されている。内筒(67)が、センサハウジング(34)の下部(71)の内周(72)に圧入されることにより、内筒(67)が縮径され、その結果、上軸受(40)の外輪(44)が内筒(67)によってタイトフィットで保持される。
