Description

ガラスフィルム積層体
 本発明は、液晶ディスプレイや有機ELディスプレイ等のフラットパネルディスプレイ、太陽電池、リチウムイオン電池、デジタルサイネージ、タッチパネル、電子ペーパー等のデバイスのガラス基板、及び有機EL照明等のデバイスのカバーガラスや医薬品パッケージ等に使用されるガラスフィルムを、支持ガラスによって支持したガラスフィルム積層体に関する。
 省スペース化の観点から、従来普及していたCRT型ディスプレイに替わり、近年は液晶ディスプレイ、プラズマディスプレイ、有機ELディスプレイ、フィールドエミッションディスプレイ等のフラットパネルディスプレイが普及している。これらのフラットパネルディスプレイにおいては、さらなる薄型化が要請される。特に有機ELディスプレイには、折りたたみや巻き取ることによって持ち運びを容易にすると共に、平面だけでなく曲面にも使用可能とすることが求められている。また、平面だけでなく曲面にも使用可能とすることが求められているのはディスプレイには限られず、例えば、自動車の車体表面や建築物の屋根、柱や外壁等、曲面を有する物体の表面に太陽電池を形成したり、有機EL照明を形成したりすることができれば、その用途が広がることとなる。従って、これらデバイスに使用される基板やカバーガラスには、更なる薄板化と高い可撓性が要求される。
 有機ELディスプレイに使用される発光体は、酸素や水蒸気等の気体が接触することにより劣化する。従って有機ELディスプレイに使用される基板には高いガスバリア性が求められるため、ガラス基板を使用することが期待されている。しかしながら、基板に使用されるガラスは、樹脂フィルムと異なり引っ張り応力に弱いため可撓性が低く、ガラス基板を曲げることによりガラス基板表面に引っ張り応力がかけられると破損に至る。ガラス基板に可撓性を付与するためには超薄板化を行う必要があり、下記特許文献1に記載されているような厚み200μm以下のガラスフィルムが提案されている。
 フラットパネルディスプレイや太陽電池等の電子デバイスに使用されるガラス基板には、透明導電膜等の膜付け処理や、洗浄処理等、様々な電子デバイス製造関連の処理がなされる。ところが、これら電子デバイスに使用されるガラス基板のフィルム化を行うと、ガラスは脆性材料であるため多少の応力変化により破損に至り、上述した各種電子デバイス製造関連処理を行う際に、取り扱いが大変困難であるという問題がある。加えて、厚み200μm以下のガラスフィルムは可撓性に富むため、製造関連処理を行う際に位置決めを行い難く、パターンニング時にずれ等が生じるという問題もある。
 そこで、ガラスフィルムの取り扱い性を向上させるために、樹脂フィルムに粘着性物質を塗布した後、ガラスフィルムを積層した積層体が提案されている。かかる積層体にあっては、ガラスフィルムが靭性材料である樹脂フィルムによって支持されているため、上述した種々の製造関連処理を行う際に、ガラスフィルム積層体の取り扱いが、ガラスフィルム単独の場合と比較して容易となる。
 しかしながら、最終的に積層体から樹脂フィルムを剥離して、ガラスフィルムのみとする場合、脆性材料であるガラスフィルムが破損し易く、さらには、樹脂フィルムを剥離した後に粘着性物質がガラスフィルムに残存し、汚れの原因となるという問題がある。また、樹脂フィルムとガラスフィルムとは、各々の熱膨張率に差があるため、製造関連処理として200℃前後の比較的低温で熱処理を行った場合であっても、熱反りや樹脂の剥離等を引き起こす可能性がある。加えて、樹脂フィルムも可撓性に富むため、製造関連処理の際の位置決めやパターンニングの際にずれ等を生じ易いという問題もある。
 上述した問題を解決するために、下記特許文献2に記載されている積層体が提案されている。下記特許文献2では、支持ガラス基板とガラスシートとが繰返しの使用によってもほぼ一定に維持される粘着剤層を介して積層された積層体が提案されている。これによれば、単体では強度や剛性のないガラスシートを用いても、従来のガラス用液晶表示素子製造ラインを共用して、液晶表示素子を製造することが可能となり、工程終了後は、ガラス基板を破損することなくすみやかに剥離することが可能となっている。また、支持体にガラスを使用しているため、熱反り等をある程度防止することが可能となっている。加えて、支持体の剛性が高いため、製造関連処理の際の位置決め時やパターンニング時のずれ等の問題も生じ難い。
 しかしながら、上述した積層体にあっても、支持ガラスの剥離後に薄板ガラスシートに粘着剤が残存するという問題については、依然として全く解決されていない。

 本発明は、上述したような従来技術の問題点を解決するためになされたものであって、ガラスフィルムに対して製造関連処理を行う際の取り扱い性を向上させ、位置決め時やパターニング時のずれ等の問題も生じず、製造関連処理後にガラスフィルムを各種デバイスに組み込む際には、支持ガラスからガラスフィルムを容易に剥離させることを可能にしつつ、且つ剥離後において粘着剤がガラスフィルムに残存することを確実に防止することを可能とするガラスフィルム積層体を提供することを目的とする。
 請求項1に係る発明は、ガラスフィルムに支持ガラスを積層したガラスフィルム積層体であって、前記ガラスフィルム及び前記支持ガラスの相互に接触する側の表面の表面粗さRaが夫々2.0nm以下であることを特徴とするガラスフィルム積層体に関する。
 請求項2に係る発明は、前記ガラスフィルム及び前記支持ガラスの相互に接触する側の表面のGI値が夫々1000pcs/m2以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のガラスフィルム積層体に関する。

 請求項8に係る発明は、前記ガラスフィルムと前記支持ガラスとの接触部分の一部領域に剥離用のシート部材が介装されていると共に、該シート部材の一部が前記接触部分から食み出していることを特徴とする請求項1~7のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体に関する。
 請求項9に係る発明は、前記支持ガラスには、前記ガラスフィルムの有効面外に対応する位置に、少なくとも1つの貫通孔が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1~8のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体に関する。
 請求項10に係る発明は、前記支持ガラスの前記ガラスフィルム側には、前記ガラスフィルムを位置決めするためのガイド部材が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1~9のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体に関する。
 請求項11に係る発明は、前記ガイド部材は、前記ガラスフィルムの厚みよりも薄いことを特徴とする請求項10に記載のガラスフィルム積層体に関する。
 請求項1に係る発明によれば、ガラスフィルムに支持ガラスを積層したガラスフィルム積層体とすることから、ガラスフィルムに対して製造関連処理を行う際の取り扱い性を向上させ、位置決めミスやパターニングの時のずれ等の問題が生じるのを防止することができる。ガラスフィルム及び支持ガラスの相互に接触する側の表面の表面粗さRaが夫々2.0nm以下であり、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとが滑らかな表面同士で接触するため密着性が良く、接着剤を使用しなくてもガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとを強固に安定して積層させることが可能となる。接着剤を使用していないことから、製造関連処理後にガラスフィルムを各種デバイスに組み込む際に、支持ガラスからガラスフィルムを1箇所でも剥離させることができれば、その後連続してガラスフィルム全体を容易に支持ガラスから剥離させることが可能となり、かつ、接着剤が全く残存しないガラスフィルムとすることができる。
 一方、表面粗さRaが2.0nmを超えると、密着性が低下し、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとを接着剤無しで強固に積層することができない。
 請求項2に係る発明によれば、ガラスフィルム及び支持ガラスの相互に接触する側の表面のGI値が夫々1000pcs/m2以下であることから、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとの接触面が清浄であるため表面の活性が損なわれておらず、接着剤を使用しなくてもガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとをより強固に安定して積層させることが可能となる。
 請求項3に係る発明によれば、ガラスフィルムの厚みが300μm以下であることから、よりハンドリングが困難であり、かつ、位置決めミスやパターニング時のずれ等の問題が生じ易い超薄肉のガラスフィルムにおいても、製造関連処理を容易に行うことができる。
 請求項4に係る発明によれば、支持ガラスの厚みが400μm以上であることから、ガラスフィルムを確実に支持することが可能となる。
 請求項5に係る発明によれば、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとの30~380℃における熱膨張係数の差が、5×10-7/℃以内であることから、製造関連処理の際に熱処理を行ったとしても、熱反り等が生じにくいガラスフィルム積層体とすることが可能となる。
 請求項6に係る発明によれば、ガラスフィルム、及び支持ガラスは、オーバーフローダウンドロー法によって成形されていることから、研磨工程を必要とすることなく極めて表面精度の高いガラスを得ることが可能となる。これにより、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとをより強固に積層させることが可能となる。
 請求項7に係る発明によれば、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとは、縁部の少なくとも一部において段差を設けて積層されていることから、支持ガラスからガラスフィルムが食み出している場合は、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとをより容易かつ確実に剥離することが可能となる。一方、ガラスフィルムから支持ガラスが食み出している場合は、ガラスフィルムの端部を打突等から適切に保護することが可能となる。
 請求項8に係る発明によれば、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとの接触部分の一部領域に剥離用のシート部材が介装されており、かつ、該シート部材の一部が上記接触部分から食み出しているので、シート部材の食み出した部分を把持してガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとをより容易且つ確実に剥離することが可能となる。
 請求項9に係る発明によれば、支持ガラスには、ガラスフィルムの有効面外に対応する位置に、少なくとも1つの貫通孔が設けられていることから、支持ガラスからガラスフィルムを剥離する際に、貫通孔を通じての圧縮空気の注入や、ピン等の挿入により、ガラスフィルムのみを持ち上げることができ、容易にガラスフィルムの剥離を開始することができる。
 請求項10に係る発明によれば、支持ガラスのガラスフィルム側には、ガラスフィルムを位置決めするためのガイド部材が設けられていることから、支持ガラスに対してガラスフィルムを積層する際に、ガラスフィルムの支持ガラスに対する位置決めを容易にすることができる。
 請求項11に係る発明によれば、ガイド部材は、ガラスフィルムの厚みよりも薄いことから、ガラスフィルム積層体に対して製造関連処理として洗浄処理を行った場合に、ガラスフィルム表面に液体が残留することを防止することができる。

 以下、本発明に係るガラスフィルム積層体の好適な実施形態について、図面を参照しつつ説明する。
 本発明に係るガラスフィルム積層体(1)は、図1に示す通り、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とからなっており、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とは、接着剤等を使用することなく積層されている。
 ガラスフィルム(2)は、ケイ酸塩ガラスが用いられ、好ましくはシリカガラス、ホウ珪酸ガラスが用いられ、最も好ましくは無アルカリガラスが用いられる。ガラスフィルム(2)にアルカリ成分が含有されていると、表面において陽イオンが脱落し、いわゆるソーダ吹きの現象が生じ、構造的に粗となる。この場合、ガラスフィルム(2)を湾曲させて使用していると、経年劣化により粗となった部分から破損する可能性がある。尚、ここで無アルカリガラスとは、アルカリ成分(アルカリ金属酸化物)が実質的に含まれていないガラスのことであって、具体的には、アルカリ成分の重量比が1000ppm以下のガラスのことである。本発明でのアルカリ成分の含有量は、好ましくは500ppm以下であり、より好ましくは300ppm以下である。
 ガラスフィルム(2)の厚みは、好ましくは300μm以下、より好ましくは5μm~200μm、最も好ましくは5μm~100μmである。これによりガラスフィルム(2)の厚みをより薄くして、適切な可撓性を付与することができるとともに、ハンドリング性が困難で、かつ、位置決めミスやパターニング時のずれ等の問題が生じやすいガラスフィルム(2)に対して、製造関連処理を容易に行うことができる。5μm未満であると、ガラスフィルム(2)の強度が不足がちになり、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)からガラスフィルム(2)を剥離して、デバイスに組み込む際に破損を招き易くなる。
 支持ガラス(3)は、ガラスフィルム(2)と同様、ケイ酸塩ガラス、シリカガラス、ホウ珪酸ガラス、無アルカリガラス等が用いられる。支持ガラス(3)については、ガラスフィルム(2)との30~380℃における熱膨張係数の差が、5×10-7/℃以内のガラスを使用することが好ましい。これにより製造関連処理の際に熱処理を行ったとしても、膨張率の差による熱反り等が生じ難く、安定した積層状態を維持できるガラスフィルム積層体(1)とすることが可能となる。
 支持ガラス(3)の厚みは、400μm以上であることが好ましい。支持ガラス(3)の厚みが400μm未満であると、支持ガラス単体で取り扱う場合に、強度の面で問題が生じる可能性があるからである。支持ガラス(3)の厚みは、400μm~700μmであることが好ましく、500μm~700μmであることが最も好ましい。これによりガラスフィルム(2)を確実に支持することが可能となるとともに、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とを剥離する際に生じ得る破損を効果的に抑制することが可能となる。
 ガラスフィルム(2)及び支持ガラス(3)の相互に接触する側の表面の表面粗さRaは夫々2.0nm以下である。表面粗さRaが2.0nmを超えると、密着性が低下し、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とを接着剤無しでは強固に積層することができない。ガラスフィルム(2)及び支持ガラス(3)の上記表面の表面粗さRaは、夫々1.0nm以下であることが好ましく、0.5nm以下であることがより好ましく、0.2nm以下であることが最も好ましい。
 ガラスフィルム(2)及び支持ガラス(3)の相互に接触する側の表面のGI値は、夫々1000pcs/m2以下であることが好ましい。これにより、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)との接触面が清浄であるため表面の活性が損なわれておらず、接着剤を使用しなくてもガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とをより強固に安定して積層させることが可能となる。本明細書においてGI値とは、1m2の領域内に存在する長径1μm以上の不純粒子の個数(pcs)のことである。ガラスフィルム(2)及び支持ガラス(3)の上記表面のGI値は、夫々500pcs/m2以下であることがより好ましく、100pcs/m2以下であることが最も好ましい。
 本発明に使用されるガラスフィルム(2)及び支持ガラス(3)は、ダウンドロー法によって成形されていることが好ましい。ガラスフィルム(2)の表面をより滑らかに成形することができるからである。特に、図2に示すオーバーフローダウンドロー法は、成形時にガラス板の両面が、成形部材と接触しない成形法であり、得られたガラス板の両面(透光面)には傷が生じ難く、研磨しなくても高い表面品位を得ることができるからである。これにより、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とをより強固に積層させることが可能となる。
 断面が楔型の成形体(7)の下端部(71)から流下した直後のガラスリボン(G)は、冷却ローラ(8)によって幅方向の収縮が規制されながら下方へ引き伸ばされて所定の厚みまで薄くなる。次に、前記所定厚みに達したガラスリボン(G)を徐冷炉(アニーラ)で徐々に冷却し、ガラスリボン(G)の熱歪を除き、ガラスリボン(G)を所定寸法に切断する。これにより、ガラスフィルム(2)又は支持ガラス(3)となるガラスシートが成形される。
 図3は、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスとを縁部において段差を設けて積層したガラスフィルム積層体の図であって、(a)は支持ガラスがガラスフィルムから食み出している形態の図、(b)はガラスフィルムが支持ガラスから食み出している形態の図、(c)は支持ガラスに切り欠き部を設けた形態の図である。
 本発明に係るガラスフィルム積層体(1)は、図3に示す通り、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とが、段差(4)を設けて積層されていることが好ましい。図3(a)では、ガラスフィルム(2)よりも支持ガラス(3)が食み出すように段差(41)が設けられている。これにより、ガラスフィルム(2)の端部をより適切に保護することができる。一方、図3(b)では、支持ガラス(3)よりもガラスフィルム(2)が食み出した状態で段差(42)が設けられている。これにより、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)の剥離開始時において、ガラスフィルム(2)のみを容易に把持することが可能なり、両者をより容易かつ確実に剥離することが可能となる。
 段差(4)は、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)の周辺部の少なくとも一部に設けられていればよく、例えば、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)が平面視矩形状の場合は、4辺のうち少なくとも1辺に設けられていればよい。また、支持ガラス(3)又はガラスフィルム(2)の4隅の一部に切り欠き(オリフラ)を設けることによって、段差を設けてもよい。
 図3(b)の形態において、ガラスフィルム(2)の食み出し量は、0.5mm~20mmであることが好ましい。0.5mm未満であると、剥離開始時においてガラスフィルム(2)の縁部を把持し難くなる可能性があり、20mmを超えるとガラスフィルム積層体(1)の側縁に打突等の外力が加わった場合にガラスフィルム(2)が破損する可能性がある。
 さらに、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)の端部において、ガラスフィルム(2)の縁部から支持ガラス(3)の縁部を食み出させて形成された段差と、支持ガラス(3)の縁部からガラスフィルム(2)の縁部を食み出させて形成された段差(4)の両方の段差が形成されたガラスフィルム積層体(1)とすることにより、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とを夫々同時に把持することが可能となり、さらに容易にガラスフィルム(2)を剥離させることが可能となる。夫々の段差は、夫々近傍に形成されることが最も好ましい。
 加えて、図3(c)に記載されている通り、支持ガラス(3)よりもガラスフィルム(2)が小さい場合において、支持ガラス(3)の端部に、切り欠き部(31)が設けられていることが好ましい。ガラスフィルム(2)の端部を適切に保護しつつ、ガラスフィルム(2)の剥離の際には、支持ガラス(3)の切り欠き部(31)で露出しているガラスフィルム(2)を容易に把持することができ、ガラスフィルム(2)を容易に剥離することができる。切り欠き部(31)は、砥石等により支持ガラス(3)端部の一部を研削することや、コアドリル等により端部の一部を切り抜くことにより、形成することができる。
 ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)との接触部分の一部領域には、剥離用のシート部材がガラスフィルム積層体(1)から食み出した状態で介装されていることが好ましい。シート部材の食み出した部分を単独で把持することによって、容易にガラスフィルム(2)を剥離することが可能となるからである。シート部材としては、公知の樹脂シート等を使用することができる。厚みは、ガラスフィルム(2)を剥離させる際にシート部材を単独で引っ張った時に、シート部材が破断しない程度に薄いことが好ましい。シート部材は、ガラスフィルム(2)を剥離できればよいため、介装量、食み出し量ともに特に限定はされないが、縦横1~2cm程度でよい。
 ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とを剥離させる際には、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)を水中に浸漬し、超音波を当てながら引き剥がしを行うことが好ましい。これにより、ガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)の剥離に要する力が軽減され、更にガラスフィルム(2)と支持ガラス(3)とを剥離させ易くすることができる。
 図4は、支持ガラスに貫通孔を設けた図であって、(a)は平面図、(b)はA-A線断面図である。
 支持ガラス(3)には、少なくとも1つの貫通孔(32)が設けられていることが好ましい。この貫通孔(32)は、少なくともその一部分がガラスフィルム(2)によって覆われる位置に設けられる。支持ガラス(3)からガラスフィルム(2)を剥離する際に、貫通孔(32)を通じて圧縮空気を注入したり、又はピン等を挿入することによって、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)のガラスフィルム(2)のみを支持ガラス(3)から持ち上げることができ、容易にガラスフィルム(2)の剥離を開始することができるからである。
 貫通孔(32)付近のガラスフィルム(2)には、剥離開始時の曲げ応力やピン等が打突することによる外力がかかる可能性があり、又、貫通孔(32)付近では支持ガラス(3)の有無による熱伝達の差から、貫通孔(32)付近のガラスフィルム(2)には、加熱工程を経た場合に歪みが生じ易いため、ガラスフィルム(2)の有効面外に対応する位置に貫通孔(32)が設けられることが好ましい。なお、ここでいうガラスフィルム(2)の有効面外とは、例えば、ガラスフィルム(2)がデバイスに組み込まれる際に切断除去される不要部分や、ガラスフィルム(2)表面に成膜を行った場合に、成膜される範囲外の非有効部分等である。
 貫通孔(32)の形状は、円形状、三角形、四角形等の多角形状等特に限定はされないが、貫通孔(32)の加工性や、クラックの発生防止のため、円形状が好ましい。貫通孔(32)の大きさは特に限定されないが、1mm~50mmの開口部を有する貫通孔(32)が挙げられる。貫通孔(32)が設けられる箇所は、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)が平面視矩形状の場合は、4隅の角部近傍に設けられることが好ましい。
 図5は、支持ガラスにガイド部材を設けた図であって、(a)は平面図、(b)はB-B線断面図である。
 支持ガラス(3)のガラスフィルム(2)側には、支持ガラス(3)の外周部に、ガイド部材(5)が設けられていることが好ましい。これにより、支持ガラス(3)に対してガラスフィルム(2)を積層する際に、位置決めを容易にすることができる。
 図5に示す通り、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)が平面視矩形状の場合は、支持ガラス(3)の隣り合う2辺に平行にガイド部材(5)が設けられる。これにより、ガラスフィルム(2)の支持ガラス(3)上において2辺の位置が決定するため、ガラスフィルム(2)の位置決めをさらに確実に行うことができる。また、ガイド部材(5)は、図5(b)に示す通り、その高さをガラスフィルム(2)よりも低くすることにより、ガラスフィルム積層体(1)が洗浄工程を経た場合に、ガラスフィルム(2)上に液体が残存することを防止し、排水を良好にすることができる。さらにガイド部材(5)上に、溝(6)を設けることにより、排水性をさらに高めることが可能となる。溝(6)は、ガイド部材(5)上に複数設けられることが好ましい。
 ガイド部材(5)は、ガラスで作製されていることが好ましい。ガラスフィルム積層体(1)が加熱工程を経た場合に、ガイド部材(5)の劣化や損耗を防止することができるからである。ガイド部材(5)は、ガラスフリットの融着や樹脂による接着等によって、形成される。
 ガイド部材(5)とガラスフィルム(2)との間に隙間が形成される場合には、樹脂を充填することによって、隙間を埋めることができる。使用する樹脂としては、紫外線硬化樹脂が好ましい。ガラスフィルム(2)を支持ガラス(3)から剥離させる際に、紫外線を照射することによって樹脂を硬化させることができるので、粘着力を低下させることができ、容易に剥離させることが可能となる。
 以下、本発明のガラスフィルム積層体を実施例に基づいて詳細に説明するが、本発明はこれらの実施例に限定されるものではない。
 縦250mm、横250mm、厚み700μmの矩形状の透明なガラス板を支持ガラスとして使用した。支持ガラスの上に積層するガラスフィルムとして、縦230mm、横230mm、厚み100μmのガラスフィルムを使用した。支持ガラスとガラスフィルムは、日本電気硝子株式会社製の無アルカリガラス(製品名:OA-10G、30~380℃における熱膨張係数:38×10-7/℃)を使用した。オーバーフローダウンドロー法によって成形されたガラスを、未研磨の状態でそのまま使用するか、研磨及びケミカルエッチングの量を適宜制御することによって、表面粗さRaの制御を行った。支持ガラス、及びガラスフィルムの接触面側の表面粗さRaをVeeco社製AFM(Nanoscope III a)を用い、スキャンサイズ10μm、スキャンレイト1Hz、サンプルライン512の条件で測定した。表面粗さRaは、測定範囲10μm四方の測定値から算出した。測定後、表1で示した試験区に支持ガラス及びガラスフィルムの夫々について区分けを行った。
 区分けを行った支持ガラス及びガラスフィルムについて、洗浄、及び室内の空調を制御することによって水中、及び空気中に含まれる塵埃の量の調節を行い、支持ガラス及びガラスフィルムの接触面側の表面に付着する塵埃の量の調節を行うことによって、GI値の制御を行った。GI値については、日立ハイテク電子エンジニアリング株式会社製のGI7000で測定を行った。
 その後、それぞれ表1に示された区分けに従って、支持ガラスの上にガラスフィルムを積層させて、実施例1~8、比較例1~3のガラスフィルム積層体を得た。
 得られたガラスフィルム積層体について、夫々洗浄工程を行うことによって接着強度の良否を判定した。洗浄工程によって接着面に水が浸入し剥離するものについて×を、剥離することなく洗浄が可能であったものについては○を、さらにブラシで擦り洗いをしても剥離しなかったものを◎とすることによって密着性の判定を行った。結果を表1に示す。

 表1に示される通り、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスの表面粗さRaがいずれも2.0nm以下の実施例1~8については、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスは十分な密着性を有しており、剥離することなく洗浄可能であることがわかる。それに対して、ガラスフィルムと支持ガラスのいずれかの表面粗さRaが2.5nm以上の比較例1~3については、接触面が粗いことからガラスフィルムと支持ガラスの密着性が低く、洗浄の際に両ガラスの接触面に水が浸入し剥離したことがわかる。
 本発明は、液晶ディスプレイや有機ELディスプレイ等のフラットパネルディスプレイや太陽電池等のデバイスに使用されるガラス基板、及び有機EL照明のカバーガラスに好適に使用することができる。

Claims (11)

  1.  ガラスフィルムに支持ガラスを積層したガラスフィルム積層体であって、
     前記ガラスフィルム及び前記支持ガラスの相互に接触する側の表面の表面粗さRaが夫々2.0nm以下であることを特徴とするガラスフィルム積層体。
  2.  前記ガラスフィルム及び前記支持ガラスの前記表面のGI値が夫々1000pcs/m2以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  3.  前記ガラスフィルムの厚みは、300μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  4.  前記支持ガラスの厚みは、400μm以上であることを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  5.  前記ガラスフィルムと前記支持ガラスとの30~380℃における熱膨張係数の差が、5×10-7/℃以内であることを特徴とする請求項1~4のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  6.  前記ガラスフィルム、及び前記支持ガラスは、オーバーフローダウンドロー法によって成形されていることを特徴とする請求項1~5のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  7.  前記ガラスフィルムと前記支持ガラスとは、縁部の少なくとも一部において段差を設けて積層されていることを特徴とする請求項1~6のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  8.  前記ガラスフィルムと前記支持ガラスとの接触部分の一部領域に剥離用のシート部材が介装されていると共に、該シート部材の一部が前記接触部分から食み出していることを特徴とする請求項1~7のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  9.  前記支持ガラスには、前記ガラスフィルムの有効面外に対応する位置に、少なくとも1つの貫通孔が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1~8のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  10.  前記支持ガラスの前記ガラスフィルム側には、前記ガラスフィルムを位置決めするためのガイド部材が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1~9のいずれかに記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
  11.  前記ガイド部材は、前記ガラスフィルムの厚みよりも薄いことを特徴とする請求項10に記載のガラスフィルム積層体。
