Definitions
- the present invention relates to a packaging box of the type comprising:
- a band elongated in a longitudinal direction, connected to the two side portions so as to ensure tamper resistance of the box before first opening, and having a large outer surface for supporting a decor;
- Such a box is for example intended to store packaged portions of processed cheese.
- processed cheese will be understood to mean both traditional processed cheeses obtained by melting cheese in the presence or absence of cast iron salts, and melted specialties obtained by melting any raw material. dairy origin or not in the presence or absence of emulsifying salts or any other additive used in the technology for obtaining these products.
- the processed cheeses are presented for consumption in different forms, but one of the oldest and most used consists of triangular, parallelepiped and cylindrical portions. These portions are usually packaged separately in aluminum and grouped in cylindrical or parallelepiped boxes. Traditionally, these boxes consist of a lid and a bottom of hot-stamped flat cardboard. Maintaining the lid on the bottom is provided by an inner collar made of a closed flat cardboard strip and secured to the bottom by gluing.
- the collar is glued to the bottom.
- the styling zone must be sufficiently large and may represent at least half the distance between the flat walls of the bottom and the lid.
- the inviolability is provided by a strip of paper glued to the cylindrical portion of the box, this strip advantageously providing the decor.
- the opening is advantageously but not necessarily provided by a wire deposited under the strip at the junction of the cover and the bottom.
- the opening system is not without its disadvantages. Indeed, the industrial rates of wire laying often result in a nonlinear positioning of this and, consequently, many difficulties at the time of the opening operation: difficulties in locating the end of wire serving as a gripping member, tearing or shredding of the strip at the time of opening and subsequent partial disappearance of the decor of the latter.
- a tear strip consisting of a self-adhesive tape bearing the decor, glued to the skirt; at the time of opening, just take off the tape to ensure the opening of the box with the great disadvantage that it eliminates completely the side decor of the box.
- FR 2 677 336 proposes a packaging box comprising a lower part and an upper part forming the cover, said lower and upper parts each comprising a lateral part serving to support a decoration part of the box, and an opening member of the box.
- the opening member is formed of a peelable plastic strip, provided with a gripping tab, adhering detachably to the two parts of the decoration of the box.
- Such a box generates a larger amount of waste at the opening (peelable strip).
- This waste is plastic, that is to say in a non-biodegradable material.
- An object of the invention is therefore to obtain a packaging box whose appearance is better than that of wire opening boxes, and which is more environmentally friendly than the box described in FR 2 677 336.
- the subject of the invention is a packaging box of the aforementioned type, characterized in that the strip comprises a single line of weakness extending substantially in the longitudinal direction, adapted to be broken by a biasing of the wire towards the end. outside the box so that the decor on the outside of the strip remains intact.
- the packaging box according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following characteristics, taken in isolation or according to any combination (s) technically possible (s):
- the line of weakness comprises alternating attachment points and perforations; the perforations are through;
- each perforation has a width of between 0.05 and 0.5 mm, advantageously between 0.05 and 0.15 mm, each perforation has a length of between 0.2 and 1 mm, advantageously between 0.5 and 0.8 mm, and two consecutive perforations are spaced apart by an interval of between 0.1 and 1 mm, advantageously between 0.2 and 0.5 mm;
- the line of weakness is located substantially along the lower edge of the upper part of the box
- the thread is placed substantially along the line of weakness
- the strip has an inner face in contact with the lateral parts which is coated with adhesive;
- the inner face of the strip is coated with a non-stick repellent varnish at the precut, on an area located on either side of the line of weakness and including the line of weakness;
- the tape is made of paper
- the paper of the strip consists mainly of fibers of length less than
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a packaging box according to the invention, before opening;
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the packaging box according to the invention, being opened;
- FIG. 3 is a view of the outer face of the strip
- FIG. 5 is a sectional view of the strip along the line of weakness.
- FIGS. 1-10 A packaging box 10 according to the invention is shown in FIGS.
- This packaging box 10 is particularly intended to store packaged portions of processed cheese. It could also be intended for individual portions of other types of cheese, or food products other than cheese. It could also be used to package whole cheese, not divided into portions.
- the packaging box 10 comprises a lower part 12, an upper cover part 14, a strip 16 and a wire 18.
- the lower and upper portions each comprise a bottom, respectively 20a and 20b, and a side portion, respectively 22a and 22b, integral with the bottom 20a or 20b and formed by a section of cardboard tube.
- the lower portion further comprises a second tube section, not shown, of diameter slightly smaller than that forming the lateral part 22a, and of substantially greater height, glued against the latter, so as to allow the interlocking of the upper part. 14 on the lower part 12.
- the lateral portion 22b has a lower edge 25. This lower edge 25 constitutes the lower edge of the cover 14.
- the lower edge 25 may be in contact with the side portion 22a.
- the side portions 22a and 22b will be spaced from 3 to 30mm depending on the height of the box.
- FIGS 3 to 5 show the band 16 of the conditioning box according to the invention.
- the band 16 ensures the inviolability of the box 10 before first opening.
- the strip 16 is advantageously made of paper. It does not have a layer of plastic material. This paper advantageously comprises a majority of short fibers less than 2 mm long, preferably less than 1.3 mm. Its grammage is advantageously between 60 and 85g. It is preferably coated paper having a layer of fine pigments and adhesives on at least one side. This paper is for example of the Sinarlux CCP type produced by Asia Pulp Paper.
- the strip 16 is elongate in a longitudinal direction. It comprises a large inner face 30, a large outer face 32, a lower longitudinal edge 34 and an upper longitudinal edge 36. It also has a single line of weakness 38 which extends substantially longitudinally and defines a lower portion 39a and a upper part 39b of the strip 16.
- the band 16 is of transverse height substantially less than or equal to the total height of the side portions 22a and 22b plus, where appropriate, the height of the gap between the parts 22a and 22b.
- the line of weakness 38 is placed on the strip 16 at a height such that, when the inner face 30 and the edges 34 and 36 of the strip 16 are in contact with the lateral parts 22a and 22b, the line of weakness 38 is in coincidence with the gap between the lateral parts 22a and 22b or, if they are contiguous, the line of weakness 38 is in coincidence with the lower edge 25 of the lid 14.
- the line of weakness 38 is preferably slightly shifted downwards relative to the lower edge 25, or extends along the lower edge 25. It may otherwise be slightly shifted upwardly with respect to the lower edge 25, although this is not a preferred embodiment of the invention.
- the line of weakness 38 typically comprises an alternation of attachment points 40 and perforations 42.
- These perforations 42 are preferably through and open into the inner face 30 and into the outer face 32, as illustrated in FIG. 5.
- Each has a transverse width of between 0.05 mm and 0.5 mm, advantageously between 0.05 mm and 0. , 15mm, and a longitudinal length of between 0.2mm and 1mm, advantageously between 0.5mm and 0.8mm, advantageously still between 0.6mm and 0.7mm.
- Two consecutive perforations 42 are spaced apart by a longitudinal gap of between 0.1 mm and 1 mm, advantageously between 0.2 mm and 0.5 mm, advantageously still between 0.3 and 0.4 mm.
- Each attachment point 40 consists of a bridge of material between two consecutive perforations 42 and connecting the lower portions 39a and 39b of the upper band 16.
- the outer face 32 advantageously supports a portion of the decoration of the box 45. It is for example printed and carries a layer of ink.
- the inner face 30 is coated with a non-stick repellent varnish 50 at the level of the line of weakness 38, on an area 52 extending on either side of the latter and including the line of weakness 38. 52 extends transversely over a width of between 4 and 10 mm, on each side of the line of weakness.
- An adhesive 55 coats the entire inner face 30. This adhesive 55 is advantageously an adhesive.
- the adhesive 55 is deposited over the varnish 50.
- the repellent varnish 50 thus prevents the adhesive 55 from clogging the perforations 42.
- the adhesive 55 can coat only the remainder of the inner face 30 which is not coated with repellent varnish 50. It can also be applied on the outside of the lateral parts 22a. and 22b.
- the strip 16 is glued against the side portions 22a and 22b so that the edges 34 and 36 are flush or are close to the bottoms 20a and 20b.
- the yarn 18 is made of polyester and cotton, preferably with a majority of polyester. It is placed in coincidence with the line of weakness 38, along the inner face 30 of the strip 16. It may be slightly shifted transversely upwards or downwards. It preferably extends either along the lower edge 25 of the cover 14, or in the gap between the parts 22a and 22b when they are not contiguous. It is sandwiched between the band 16 on the one hand and at least one of the lower 12 and upper 14 parts of the box on the other hand.
- the strip 16 is at least 100% and preferably 1 10% of the circumference of the box, possibly with a zone where its two longitudinal ends overlap each other.
- the yarn 18 also makes at least 100% of the round of the box and may be longer than the strip 16, so that one end 60 of the yarn protrudes outside in accordance with FIG.
- the strip 16 provided with the wire 18 is applied by gluing, for example by means of an industrial machine, to the external face of the lateral parts 22a and 22b so that the edges 34 and 36 are contiguous or slightly offset from the funds 20a and 20b and that the end 60 of the wire 18 is easily accessible.
- the line of weakness 38 has sufficient strength to allow, before first opening, the handling of the box 10 without the risk of separation of the lower portion 12 and upper 14.
- the user pulls on the end 60 of the wire towards the outside of the box - the user pulls on the wire 18 for example in a direction perpendicular to the strip 16, or slightly inclined relative to the perpendicular direction -
- the wire 18 is shearing the attachment points 40 of the line of weakness 38.
- the attachment points 40 being of short length and the fibers of the paper constituting the strip 16 being short, there is very little delamination, of so that the decor present on the outer face 32 remains intact.
- the force exerted on the wire 18 to allow the shearing of the attachment points 40 thus remains less than the adhesion strength of the wire 18 to the band 16, which makes it possible to avoid an impromptu detachment of the wire 18.
- the conditioning box according to the invention will thus have an inviolability ensured by the band before opening, but remain attractive after successive openings and closures, one of the great advantages being the maintenance of the entire decoration throughout the opening cycles. closing the box.
- Its strip 16 will also have a print rendering superior to a conventional paper tape thanks for example to the use of high quality coated paper of the Sinarlux CCP type produced by Asia Pulp Paper.
- the quality of the print rendering will be similar to that obtained with the plastic material strip of FR 2 677 336.
- the packaging box according to the invention has the advantage of being able to be produced on the same machines as those producing the standard wire packaging boxes.
- the packaging box shown here is circular in section, but the invention can not be reduced to this type of box only and is also possible on other types of box, for example rectangular section or any shape.
- the line of weakness 38 may be composed of non-through perforations instead of through perforations, or consist of a continuous groove. It is not necessarily straight and may have portions at a different height, form a wavy frieze or take any form that may seem appropriate.
- the end 60 of the wire 18 may also be secured to a gripping tab. This gripping tongue may partially adhere to the outer face 32 of the strip 16.
