Definitions
- the present invention relates to an organic electroluminescence lighting device provided with an organic light emitting film, and a manufacturing method thereof.
- An organic electroluminescent lighting device is generally a light emitting diode because it has a structure in which an organic light emitting film is sandwiched between a flat anode film and a flat cathode film and mounted on a transparent substrate such as a glass substrate. At the same time, it is a capacitor. Therefore, when energization is started in a state that has not been used for a long time (a state in which no electric charge is accumulated), a problem of short-circuiting due to an inrush current may occur. In addition, when a high electric field is generated between the anode film and the cathode film due to static electricity, there may be a problem that dielectric breakdown occurs. Accordingly, a display device for solving these problems has been proposed, and is disclosed in Patent Document 1 (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2006-286393).
- an anode lead-out wiring for electrically connecting a power source and an anode installed outside the device.
- the anode lead-out wiring is formed with a resistance region whose line width is narrower than other regions. Since the inrush current can be limited by this resistance region, a short circuit hardly occurs. In addition, since a voltage drop occurs in this resistance region, it is difficult to apply a high electric field between the anode and the cathode. Therefore, dielectric breakdown due to static electricity is less likely to occur.
- the adhesion between the organic light-emitting film and the cathode film is weaker than the adhesion between the anode and the organic light-emitting film, and the cathode is formed on the amorphous and microscopic organic light-emitting film.
- the above phenomenon is also promoted by the fact that the material of the cathode film enters the organic light-emitting film non-uniformly near the surface of the organic light-emitting film.
- an object of the present invention is to provide an organic electroluminescence lighting device that can reduce the occurrence of a short circuit due to an inrush current, and a method for manufacturing the same.
- an organic electroluminescent lighting device includes a transparent substrate, a film formed on the surface of the transparent substrate, a terminal portion provided at one end or both ends, and an electrode portion continuous to the terminal portion.
- An anode film provided on the surface of the transparent substrate; a cathode terminal film formed on the surface of the transparent substrate apart from the anode film; and provided with a first resistance region; and a surface of the electrode portion in the anode film.
- another organic electroluminescent lighting device includes a transparent substrate, a film formed on the surface of the transparent substrate, terminal portions provided at one end or both ends, and continuous with the terminal portions.
- a light emitting film, and a cathode film formed continuously from the surface of the organic light emitting film to the surface of the cathode terminal film, and the resistivity of the material of the cathode terminal film is a material of the cathode film Greater than the resistivity.
- the method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescent lighting device includes a terminal portion provided on one or both ends of a transparent electrode, and an electrode portion provided continuously to the terminal portion. And a cathode terminal film provided with a first resistance region apart from the anode film, and organic light emission on the surface of the electrode portion in the anode film.
- the first resistance region was viewed at the first cut surface parallel to the boundary between the cathode film and the outer periphery of the cathode film and along the thickness direction of the cathode terminal film.
- the cross-sectional area of the conductor portion in the first resistance region is Wherein the parts forming the cathode terminal layer to be less than the cross-sectional area of the first cut surface of the cath
- a terminal portion is provided at one or both ends on the surface of a transparent electrode, and an electrode portion is provided continuously to the terminal portion.
- the cathode terminal film is formed of a material having a resistivity higher than that of the cathode film material.
- the cathode terminal film is added as a resistance component on the cathode side, and it is difficult for a large current to flow through the cathode film. As a result, even if an inrush current flows, the cathode film is less likely to be damaged, so that it is possible to reduce the occurrence of a short circuit due to the inrush current.

- It is a top view which shows other embodiment of the organic electroluminescent illuminating device of this invention.
- FIG. 1 is a plan view showing an embodiment of the organic electroluminescence lighting device of the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along a cutting line AA shown in FIG.
- FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along the cutting line BB shown in FIG.
- FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view along the section line CC shown in FIG.
- FIG. 5 is a sectional view taken along the cutting line DD shown in FIG.
- the organic light emitting layer 4 and the cathode film 5 are not shown for easy understanding.
- the anode film 2 and the cathode terminal film 3 are formed on the surface of the transparent substrate 1 apart from each other (first film forming step).
- the anode film 2 includes a terminal portion 2a and an electrode portion 2b, and an organic light emitting film 4 is formed on the surface of the electrode portion 2b (second film forming step).
- a cathode film 5 continuous from the surface of the organic light emitting film 4 to the surface of the cathode terminal film 3 is formed (third film forming step).
- the transparent substrate 1 is a glass substrate or a plastic substrate.
- the anode film 2 is mainly composed of indium tin oxide (ITO).
- the terminal part 2a is provided at both ends of the anode film 2, and the electrode part 2b is provided continuously to the terminal part 2a.
- the terminal portion 2a may be provided at one end of the anode film 2.
- the resistance region 7 (first resistance region) is provided in the cathode terminal film 3.
- the resistance region 7 is formed by a plurality of openings 6 (first openings) (see FIG. 1).
- the plurality of openings 6 are arranged perpendicular to the traveling direction of the forward current I.
- Each of the plurality of openings 6 is surrounded by the cathode terminal film 3 and the surface of the transparent substrate 1 is exposed.
- the cross-sectional area of the conductor 12 in the resistance region 7 (see FIG. 4) is the cross-sectional area of the cathode terminal film 3 in the boundary portion 11 a with the outer periphery of the cathode film 5 (FIG. It is smaller than reference). Therefore, the cathode terminal film 3 is a resistance component.
- the resistance region 8 (second resistance region) is provided in the terminal portion 2a of the anode film 2.
- the resistance region 8 is formed by a plurality of openings 8 (second openings) in the same manner as the resistance region 7 (see FIG. 1).
- the cross-sectional area of the conductor portion in the resistance region 8 is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the terminal portion 2a in 11b at the boundary with the electrode portion 2b. Therefore, the terminal part 2a is a resistance component.
- a resistance component is added to the cathode side, and a large current hardly flows through the cathode film 5. As a result, even if an inrush current flows, the cathode film 5 is less likely to be damaged. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of a short circuit due to the inrush current.
- a resistance component is also added to the anode side.
- the resistance component is formed in both the anode side and the cathode side.
- the openings 8 can also be formed collectively (with a single mask) in the step of forming the anode film 2. Therefore, it is possible to easily form the resistance region 9 without increasing the number of steps. Further, when the anode film 2 and the cathode terminal film 3 are made of the same material, they can be formed all together. Therefore, the resistance regions 7 and 9 can be easily formed without increasing the number of steps.
- the cathode terminal film 3 and the cathode film 5 may be different materials.
- the cathode terminal film 3 is used as a resistance component on the cathode side without forming the opening 6. It becomes possible.
- the terminal portion 2a and the electrode portion 2b may be made of different materials.
- the resistivity of the material of the terminal portion 2a larger than the resistivity of the material of the electrode portion 2b, it is possible to make the terminal portion 2a a resistance component on the anode side without forming the opening 6. Become.
- FIG. 6 to 8 are plan views showing other embodiments of the organic electroluminescence lighting device of the present invention.
- the description of the organic light emitting film 4 and the cathode film 5 is omitted for easy understanding.
- the openings 6 and 8 are formed as means for forming the resistance regions 7 and 9.
- the means for forming the resistance regions 7 and 9 is not limited to the openings 6 and 8.
- a constricted portion may be formed in each of the terminal portion 2 a and the cathode terminal film 3, and the constricted portion may be used as the resistance regions 7 and 9.
- one end of each of the terminal portion 2 a and the cathode terminal film 3 may be processed into a comb shape, and the one end may be used as the resistance regions 7 and 9.
