Definitions
- the present invention relates to an elongated element receiving chute, its mounting method on a support, and an assembly comprising a support and such a chute.
- the invention applies more particularly to a chute intended to be mounted on a support, constituted by a motor vehicle engine frame.
- a support constituted by a motor vehicle engine frame.
- many electrical harnesses are positioned in the vicinity of the engine. It is therefore conceivable that it is necessary to preserve their integrity, so as to avoid in particular any short circuit.
- a chute which generally comprises an elongated body defining a receiving space of these bundles.
- This chute is also provided with means, ensuring its attachment to the engine.
- EP-A-1 367 308 a device for fixing elongate objects on a flat support, which firstly comprises two support pieces on this support. These two pieces, which are mutually linked in a sliding manner, also support two half-cradles for receiving elongated objects.
- the movable locking element is not locked, while its guiding is not ensured. Indeed, only the final positioning of this element is assured when it is at the end of the race.
- the maintenance provided by such a support is also not positive type, so it is not sustainable, especially in case of significant stress on the support or chute.
- DE 2008 005 734 discloses a chute comprising a body provided with a first fixed element, for locking the chute relative to the support on which it must be mounted. There is also provided an insert, slidably mounted relative to the body, which is equipped with a second locking element, which is therefore movable relative to the body. Mutual locking of the body and the insert is achieved through the use of notches.
- a chute can be mounted on supports having different dimensions.
- the invention aims to remedy the various disadvantages of the prior art mentioned above. It aims in particular to provide a chute which is likely to be secured in a reliable and durable manner on a support, even when the latter is implanted in an environment subject to strong vibrations, such as a motor vehicle engine. The invention also aims to provide such a chute, which can be mounted simply and quickly on the aforementioned support.
- the invention relates to a chute intended to be mounted on a support, in particular a motor vehicle engine frame, this chute comprising a body defining a reception zone for elongate elements, in particular of cable type, a first locking member on the support, fixed with respect to the body, and a second locking member on the support, movable relative to the body between a retracted positioning position of the support, and an advanced support locking position, in which this movable member defines a locking space with the body, characterized in that the movable locking member is adapted to adopt a position intermediate, wherein it defines with the body a space previously holding the support, the chute having locking means adapted to move the movable locking member from its intermediate position to its locking position.
- the locking member can be moved from its retracted position to its intermediate position by a single axial action, including manual.
- the locking means comprise threaded means.
- the threaded locking means comprise at least one threaded element integral with, or adapted to be secured to, one of the movable member and the body, and at least one threaded element integral with, or adapted to be secured to to the other of the movable member and the body, this threaded element being adapted to cooperate with a corresponding threaded element in order to move the movable member relative to the body.
- the stop means comprise a lug, which is equipped with the movable member, adapted to cooperate with a first and a second notches provided on the body, which correspond to the respectively backward and intermediate positions.
- the lug is carried by a lever of the movable member, the lever having an actuating end, adapted to release the lug from the first notch, so as to allow the movement of the movable member to the intermediate position .
- the movable locking member is able to move in a longitudinal direction of displacement, and this movable member has a bearing end against the support, forming with said direction a clearance angle of between 0 and 45 ° while being strictly positive, preferably between 5 and 10 °.
- transverse positioning means of the movable blocking member relative to the support there is provided transverse positioning means of the movable blocking member relative to the support.
- the transverse positioning means comprise a positioning channel formed on the movable member adapted to cooperate with a rib formed on the support.
- the invention also relates to a method of mounting, on a support, the chute above, in which the chute is placed against the support, substantially in the final position that it must adopt, while maintaining the organ mobile in its retracted position, the movable member is pushed back into its intermediate position, so as to mutually maintain the chute and the support, and the locking means is actuated so as to move the movable member in its blocking position, and thus to block the chute relative to the support.
- the invention finally relates to an assembly comprising a support and a chute as above, this chute being mounted on this support.
- the support comprises complementary transverse positioning means cooperating with the transverse positioning means of the movable locking member.
- Figure 1 is a perspective view, illustrating a chute according to the invention
- Figures 2 and 3 are perspective views, illustrating from two different angles a base for holding a latch, belonging to this chute;
- Figures 4 and 5 are perspective views, illustrating from two different angles a latch belonging to this chute;
- Figure 6 is a side view, illustrating the latch of Figures 4 and 5;
- Figures 7 to 8 are views in longitudinal section, illustrating the latch mounted on its base, respectively first in a retracted position, then in an intermediate position, and finally in a locking position on a support;
- Figure 9 is a side view, illustrating the locked position of the chute.
- FIG. 9 The various figures illustrate a chute according to the invention, designated as a whole by the reference 1, which is intended to be mounted on a support 101.
- the latter more particularly visible in FIG. 9, is a motor vehicle frame in the example illustrated.
- the invention finds its application to other types of supports, such as for example metal profiles, in particular having a shape of T or H.
- the support 101 is provided with two lugs 102 and 1 03, which define two support planes P102 and P103 to ensure the attachment of the chute, as will be seen in what follows.
- one of these ears 102 is provided with a rib 104, allowing the mutual positioning of the chute and the support, as will also be explained later.
- the chute 1 is essentially made by molding thermoplastic materials on injection molding machines. It has an elongated body 2, of which Y is the main direction. This body, generally U-shaped, defines a receiving zone 3 of elongated elements, in particular cable-type, opening outwards through two openings 4 and 5, forming input and output, or vice versa. In the usual way, the function of this chute is to protect these elongated elements against aggression, such as clashes between son, or even liquid dripping.
- the reception zone 3 is covered by a hood
- the latter is optional, in which case it is replaced by any means allowing the joining of the beams relative to the chute, in particular of the adhesive type.
- the chute is provided with a front face 10, said fixing, at which is carried out the mounting on the support 101.
- This fixing face 10, which extends in the direction Y, is bordered by two locking members 20 and 30, which will now be described in more detail.
- the first member or heel 20 is called fixed, insofar as it is permanently and immovably connected to the body 2, in particular being molded.
- This heel has a projection 21, defining with the face 10 opposite a first space 22, ensuring the blocking of the support in the direction Y, in a first direction.
- the second member or latch 30 is called mobile, insofar as it is mounted relative to the body with a possibility of axial displacement, in the direction Y.
- this latch is supported by a base 50, integral with the body of the chute, which is more particularly described with reference to Figures 2 and 3, and 7 to 9.
- This base 50 forming latch holding member 30, has a roughly parallelepiped shape. It is perforated so as to define an axial chamber 51 open to the opposite of the heel 20, a first wall 52, facing the body, defines therewith an intermediate space 53 (see Figure 7).
- This wall 52 is hollowed with a notch 54, adjacent to the outlet of the chamber, which forms a first notch, while having a shoulder 55 forming a second notch. It will be seen in what follows, that the presence of the intermediate space 53 allows further advance of the lock.
- the wall 57 opposite that 52, is indented so as to allow the passage of amounts provided on the latch 30, as will be seen later.
- the other two walls 58 and 59 of the chamber are provided with internal ribs 60 and 61, in order to guide the movement of this lock.
- the chamber 51 has a bottom 62, from which extends axially a shaft 63, whose walls define a central space 64, allowing the insertion of a screw carried by the lock.
- these walls are advantageously made of a soft plastic material, so that the screw can itself create its own tapping during its introduction, in a manner known per se.
- the lock 30 comprises a housing 31, whose external profile corresponds substantially to the internal profile of the chamber 51.
- This housing has a bottom 32 hollowed out of a hole 33 for the passage of a screw 34 (see FIG. 7), the orifice whose periphery is provided with bosses 35. These latter make it possible to hold the screw relative to the housing when the latch is not yet firmly attached to its base 50.
- the housing is open so as to define a housing 36 for receiving the drum 63. Furthermore, on two of its walls, this housing is provided with guide rails 37, adapted to cooperate with the ribs. 60 and 61 above.
- a lever 38 extends from a third wall of this housing, via a hinge 39 made for example by thinning material. At one of its ends, this lever is provided with a tab 40 for actuation, while its other end defines a lug 41 adapted to cooperate with one or other of the notches 54 and 55.
- This lug 41 has a rounded edge, facilitating the passage of the lever between the two notches.
- the housing supports a heel 42, the face F adjacent to the housing extends in the direction Y, as shown in Figure 6.
- This face is completed by zone 43 in the form of a flange, forming with the direction Y an angle ⁇ , between 0 and 45 ° while being strictly positive, preferably between 5 and 10 °.
- Two ribs or uprights 44 carried by the face F of the heel 42, define a channel 45.
- the latter is adapted to receive the rib 104 provided on the support, for the proper positioning of the latter relative to the chute.
- the free end of these uprights 44 is also inclined, so as to be parallel to the undercut area 43.
- the chute is in the arrangement illustrated in FIG. 7.
- the latch 30 assigns a retracted position, namely that it leaves a zone Z free, bordered by the end face 10 and the base 50.
- This zone Z corresponds to the location in which the support must be blocked.
- the lug 41 is inserted into the notch 54, which ensures a maintenance of the lock in this configuration.
- the operator first inserts the ear 103 of the support 101 into the gripping space 22, defined by the fixed heel 20. Then, he slams the second ear 102 against the edge of the the front face 10, adjacent to the base 50, namely at the zone Z. During this operation, it is a question of placing the rib 104 opposite the positioning channel 45.
- the latch 30 is then in an intermediate position, illustrated in Figure 8. It is now placed partly opposite the face 10 of the body 2, so as to create with the latter a space E ', called prior maintenance. Under these conditions, it is no longer necessary for the operator to manually support the chute, so that the latter can seize without risk of a tool not shown, type portable screwdriver.
- the screw does not cooperate with soft walls of a drum.
- the bottom 62 of the chamber 51 supports a threaded element, which passes through the bottom 32 of the housing 31.
- a complementary threaded element, attached to the end of the threaded element above, can then be maneuvered by the operator, to induce the movement of the lock relative to its base.
- locking means do not involve threaded means.
- the invention achieves the previously mentioned objectives.
- the assembler can easily arrange the chute on the support with both hands, and then move the movable member in an axial force of low intensity. Then, thanks to the pre-assembly thus made, it is easy for the fitter to be provided with a tool for actuating the locking means.
- the invention allows a satisfactory blocking of the chute on the support, which ensures a durable connection of these two elements, even in an environment where there are strong vibrations.
- the locking means in particular of the thread type, induce a positive force of the chute on the support, which then avoids any inadvertent movement of the chute, in use.
- transverse positioning means of the chute is also advantageous. This makes it possible to dispose mutually precisely these two elements in a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the movable member.
- the invention is also applicable to a chute having such transverse positioning means, while being equipped with a conventional movable locking member, as presented in the preamble of the present description.
- a movable member can be moved from its retracted position to its advanced position by means of simple notches, without presenting an intermediate position as described above, and without being provided with locking means.
- the invention thus relates to a chute intended to be mounted on a support, in particular a motor vehicle engine frame, this chute comprising a body defining a receiving zone for elongate elements, in particular of the cable type, a first locking member on the support, fixed relative to the body, and a second locking member on the support, movable relative to the body between a retracted position of positioning of the support, and an advanced position of blocking the support, wherein said movable member defines a blocking space with the body, said chute further comprising transverse positioning means of the movable blocking member relative to the support.
- the chute as defined immediately above may then include all the features described herein, to the extent that they are technically compatible.
