- Drawing 1 is an explanatory view for explaining an outline of communications system 1 concerning one embodiment.
- the communication system 1 includes a terminal device 100, a communication control device 200a, a communication control device 200b, and a communication control device 300.
- the terminal device 100 is a wireless communication terminal that can use a plurality of primary communication services. Each primary communication service used by the terminal device 100 identifies individual subscribers using SIM information transmitted from the terminal device 100.
- the terminal device 100 may typically be a so-called dual SIM terminal that is a form of a multi-SIM terminal.
- the terminal device 100 uses the first SIM information to connect to the first primary communication service.
- the terminal device 100 uses the second SIM information different from the first SIM information to use the second primary communication service. Connect to.
- Such switching of SIM information in the terminal device 100 may be performed by various methods as will be described later.
- the terminal device 100 may be a wireless communication terminal such as a smartphone, a PC (Personal Computer), a tablet computer, a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), or a PND (Portable Navigation Device).
- the communication control device 200a is a device that provides a first primary communication service to one or more terminal devices including the terminal device 100.
- the first primary communication service is provided according to any type of wireless communication system such as GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), W-CDMA (Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access), WiMAX, LTE, or LTE-A. Communication service.
- GSM Global System for Mobile Communications
- W-CDMA Wideband-Code Division Multiple Access
- WiMAX Fifth Generation
- LTE Long Term Evolution
- LTE-A Long Term Evolution-A
- the communication control device 200b is a device that provides a second primary communication service different from the first primary communication service to one or more terminal devices including the terminal device 100.
- the second primary communication service may also be a communication service provided according to any type of wireless communication scheme such as GSM, W-CDMA, WiMAX, LTE, or LTE-A.
- the frequency channel F2 is assigned to the second primary communication service.
- FIG. 1 shows an example in which the communication control devices 200a and 200b are base stations of a cellular communication system.
- the communication control devices 200a and 200b described in the present embodiment are not limited to such examples, and are control nodes configured separately from the base station (for example, server devices connected to the core network). May be.
- the primary communication service refers to a wireless communication service that is explicitly permitted to use frequency resources (for example, based on the regulations of each country).
- the allocation of frequency resources to the primary communication service is not necessarily optimally performed from the viewpoint of increasing communication opportunities. For example, there is a possibility that frequency resources are allocated to the primary communication service in an area where a user of a certain primary communication service does not actually exist (little or no). In this case, if the other radio communication service cannot use the frequency resource allocated to the primary communication service at all, the communication opportunity of the user is lost, which is not desirable. Thus, it is allowed under the given conditions that other radio communication services secondarily use the frequency resources allocated to the primary communication service.
- the given condition includes, for example, a condition that no substantial interference is given to the receiving station of the primary communication service.
- the secondary communication service referred to in this specification refers to a wireless communication service provided by secondarily using the frequency resource allocated to the primary communication service.
- the primary communication service uses a plurality of frequency channels in an integrated manner by using a carrier aggregation technology, for example, in the LTE-A method, the secondary communication service is only a part of the plurality of frequency channels. May be used secondarily.
- the communication control device 300 is a device that provides the secondary communication service to one or more terminal devices including the terminal device 304 at least in the vicinity of the area where the first primary communication service is provided.
- the secondary communication service may be a communication service provided according to an arbitrary type of wireless communication method such as a wireless LAN (Local Area Network) or UWB (Ultra Wide Band).
- the secondary communication service provided by the communication control device 300 secondarily uses the frequency channel F1 allocated to the first primary communication service. Therefore, when providing the secondary communication service, the communication control device 300 causes the radio signal transmitted for the secondary communication service to substantially interfere with the receiving station (for example, the terminal device 100) of the first primary communication service. The transmission power of the radio signal is controlled so as not to occur.
- the communication control device 300 is a master node (for example, a wireless access point or a femtocell base station) for a secondary communication service.
- the present invention is not limited to this example, and the communication control device 300 may be a server device provided for controlling such a master node.
- the terminal device 304 is a wireless communication terminal that uses a secondary communication service provided by the communication control device 300.
- the terminal device 306 is a wireless communication terminal that desires to use a secondary communication service provided by the communication control device 300.
- the frequency channel of the radio signal transmitted from the communication control apparatus 300 overlaps the frequency channel assigned to the first primary communication service. Therefore, when the communication control apparatus 300 increases the transmission power of the radio signal to the extent that the radio signal transmitted from the communication control apparatus 300 is satisfactorily received by the terminal apparatus 306, the radio signal is excessive in the terminal apparatus 100. May cause interference. Therefore, as a result of the transmission power being suppressed by the communication control device 300, the terminal device 306 cannot use the secondary communication service.
- suppression of the transmission power of the secondary communication service also means that the bit rate of the secondary communication service enjoyed by the terminal device 304 can be lowered.
- Such a situation is not preferable from the viewpoint of increasing communication opportunities. Therefore, in the communication system 1 according to the present embodiment, such a preferable situation is improved and a more efficient use of frequency resources is realized by a mechanism described in detail in the following sections.
- the communication control devices 200a and 200b when it is not necessary to distinguish the communication control devices 200a and 200b from each other, they are collectively referred to as the communication control device 200 by omitting the alphabet at the end of the reference numerals. The same applies to other components.
- FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating an example of the configuration of the terminal device 100 according to the present embodiment.
- the terminal device 100 includes a communication unit 110, a quality measurement unit 120, a control unit 130, a SIM switching unit 140, a user interface unit 160, and a storage unit 170.
- the communication unit 110 is a communication interface that performs wireless communication using any SIM information that is switched between a plurality of SIM information corresponding to a plurality of primary communication services.
- the communication unit 110 connects to the first primary communication service provided by the communication control device 200a.
- the communication unit 110 connects to the second primary communication service provided by the communication control device 200b.
- the communication unit 110 is currently connected to the first primary communication service provided by the communication control device 200a.
- the quality measurement unit 120 measures the quality of wireless communication performed by the communication unit 110. For example, the quality measurement unit 120 measures the reception power level of a pilot signal, a reference signal, or other signal received in a predetermined time slot in each primary communication service. The received power level may be averaged over a predetermined period. In addition, the quality measurement unit 120 calculates, for example, a signal to noise and interference power ratio (SINR) from the measured received power level. In addition or alternatively, the quality measurement unit 120 may calculate a parameter such as a bit error rate (BER) or a frame error rate (FER), for example. Then, the quality measuring unit 120 outputs the value of one or more parameters among these parameters representing the quality of wireless communication to the control unit 130.
- SINR signal to noise and interference power ratio
- BER bit error rate
- FER frame error rate
- the quality measuring unit 120 periodically measures the communication quality for the connected primary communication service (that is, the first primary communication service).
- the measurement result of the communication quality by the quality measuring unit 120 is reported to the base station (for example, the communication control device 200a) of the primary communication service being connected.
- the base station for example, the communication control device 200a
- a general terminal device that performs wireless communication in accordance with the W-CDMA, LTE, or LTE-A method after the HSDPA compatible version periodically measures the channel quality according to the standard specifications and sends the measurement result to the base station. Report.
- the measurement result reported here is called a channel quality indicator (CQI: Channel Quality Indicator).
- the quality measurement unit 120 may use the parameter included in the CQI as a communication quality measurement result.
- the measurement of the communication quality for the primary communication service being disconnected (that is, the second primary communication service) by the quality measurement unit 120 is performed when the communication quality measured for the primary communication service being connected is lower than a given threshold value. Can be done. If the communication quality of the primary communication service being disconnected is higher than the communication quality of the primary communication service being connected, the SIM switching unit 140 can switch the SIM information. That is, the measurement of the communication quality of the primary communication service that is not connected can be performed only when the communication quality of the primary communication service that is being connected has deteriorated due to the determination of switching of the SIM information. According to such a configuration, the frequency of switching SIM information and switching of communication settings (for example, operating frequency) in the communication unit 110 is reduced, and the hardware resources of the terminal device 100 are efficiently used for data communication. Can do.
- the given threshold value to be compared with the communication quality of the primary communication service being connected may be different for each cell type of the primary communication service.
- the cell type can be specified based on information received on the control channel (for example, a cell ID associated with the cell type, or the cell type itself).
- the cell type of the primary communication service may be, for example, a type that distinguishes macro cells, pico cells, femto cells, and the like from each other, or may be a type that distinguishes cells expanded by a relay station or a repeater. For example, by setting a lower threshold for a cell whose communication quality is more likely to fluctuate, an appropriate balance is achieved between the selection of the optimum primary communication service by the terminal device 100 and the reduction of operation overhead. Can do.
- the mapping between the cell type and the threshold may be provided from the communication control apparatus 200 to the terminal apparatus 100, or may be provided from the communication control apparatus 300 to the terminal apparatus 100.
- Control Unit 130 controls the overall operation of the terminal device 100 using a processor such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit) or a DSP (Digital Signal Processor). For example, the control unit 130 generates a data packet to be transmitted to another terminal device via the base station of the primary communication service, and processes a data packet received from the other terminal device.
- a processor such as a CPU (Central Processing Unit) or a DSP (Digital Signal Processor).
- the control unit 130 generates a data packet to be transmitted to another terminal device via the base station of the primary communication service, and processes a data packet received from the other terminal device.

- control unit 130 compares the communication quality measured by the quality measurement unit 120 for the connected primary communication service with the given threshold value. Then, when the measured communication quality falls below the given threshold, the control unit 130 can cause the quality measurement unit 120 to measure the communication quality for the primary communication service that is not connected. When the communication quality of the primary communication service being disconnected is higher than the communication quality of the primary communication service being connected, the control unit 130 can output a SIM switching instruction signal SIG SIM to the SIM switching unit 140.

Therefore, the power control unit 340 controls the transmission power of the secondary communication service so that the interference level with the first primary communication service caused by the radio signal of the secondary communication service does not exceed a predetermined allowable interference level. .
- the power control unit 340 acquires the position of the terminal device 100 that is the primary receiving station and the allowable interference level from the communication control device 200a. Then, the power control unit 340 sets the upper limit value of the transmission power so that the radio signal of the secondary communication service does not give the interference exceeding the allowable interference level to the terminal device 100, the allowable interference level value and the secondary transmission station. Calculation is performed using the distance to the terminal device 100. The power control unit 340 notifies each secondary transmission station of the upper limit value of the transmission power calculated in this way. As a result of transmission power control, the power control unit 340 uses the secondary communication service when it is determined that service provision is interrupted, for example, because sufficient transmission power cannot be obtained. A handover to another communication service may be recommended to the terminal device.
- the other communication service may be any primary communication service or other secondary communication service using a different frequency channel. Thereby, unexpected interruption of communication in the terminal device using the secondary communication service can be avoided.
- the power control unit 340 may calculate the allowable interference level using the distance between the primary transmission station and the terminal device 100 instead of acquiring the allowable interference level from the communication control device 200a.
- the power control unit 340 when the terminal device 100 is switched from SIM information corresponding to the first primary communication service to SIM information corresponding to the second primary communication service, Increase the transmission power of the secondary communication service. For example, when switching of SIM information in the terminal device 100 is notified from the communication control device 200a or reported from the terminal device 100, the power control unit 340 changes the frequency channel used by the terminal device 100 from the channel F1 to the channel F2. Recognize that has changed. And the power control part 340 recalculates the upper limit of the transmission power of a secondary communication service using the allowable interference level which can be newly acquired from the communication control apparatus 200a in conjunction with the switching of the SIM information.
- the upper limit value of the transmission power of the secondary communication service using the frequency channel F1 can be increased.
- the increase in the transmission power of the secondary communication service is not only that the value of the transmission power during service provision can be further increased, but also the stopped secondary communication service together with some transmission power value. It also means that it can be started.
- the storage unit 370 stores a program and data for the operation of the communication control device 300 using a storage medium such as a hard disk or a semiconductor memory.
- FIG. 8 is a sequence diagram showing an example of the flow of communication control processing according to the present embodiment. Referring to FIG. 8, a flow of processing among the terminal device 100, the communication control device 200a, the communication control device 200b, the communication control device 300, and the terminal device 304 illustrated in FIG. 1 is illustrated.
- the terminal device 304 transmits and receives a radio signal using the secondary communication service provided by the communication control device 300 (step S1).
- the terminal device 100 transmits a connection request to the communication control device 200a and is connected to the first primary communication service (step S2).
- a radio signal of the first primary communication service is transmitted and received between the terminal device 100 and the communication control device 200a (step S3).
- the communication control device 300 When the communication control device 300 detects that the terminal device 100 that is a primary receiving station appears in the vicinity (step S4), the communication control device 300 suppresses the transmission power of the secondary communication service in order not to give excessive interference to the terminal device 100. (Step S5). At this time, for example, when there is a secondary terminal that is determined to be unable to maintain the desired service quality as a result of suppressing the transmission power, the power control unit 340 of the communication control device 300 transmits another communication to the secondary terminal. A handover to the service may be recommended. In the example of FIG. 8, after that, the terminal device 304 continues the secondary communication with the suppressed transmission power (step S6). However, since the transmission power is suppressed, the bit rate experienced by the terminal device 304 in step S6 is lower than the bit rate experienced in step S1.
- the necessity of switching the SIM information used in the terminal device 100 is determined by the terminal device 100 or the communication control device 200a according to the communication quality of the first primary communication service (step S7).
- the switching instruction unit 250 of the communication control device 200a instructs the terminal device 100 to switch the SIM information (step S8a). Instead, switching of SIM information may be reported from the terminal device 100 to the communication control device 200a (step S8b).
- the secondary control unit 260 of the communication control device 200a notifies the communication control device 300 of the switching (step S9).
- the secondary control unit 260 of the communication control device 200a calculates the transmission power of the secondary communication service, and the calculated transmission power value is notified from the secondary control unit 260 to the communication control device 300. Also good.
- the SIM switching unit 140 of the terminal device 100 switches the SIM information used by the communication unit 110 (step S10).
- the SIM information corresponding to the first primary communication service is switched to the SIM information corresponding to the second primary communication service.
- the communication unit 110 transmits a connection request to the communication control device 200b using the switched SIM information and connects to the second primary communication service (step S11).
- the power control unit 340 of the communication control device 300 recognizes that the SIM information has been switched in the terminal device 100, it recalculates the transmission power and increases the transmission power of the secondary communication service (step S12). As a result, the terminal device 304 can use the secondary communication service at a higher bit rate by using the increased transmission power (step S13). It is also possible to provide a secondary communication service to a secondary terminal located in a wider area.
- FIG. 9 and FIG. 10 show a situation in which opportunities for using the secondary communication service are expanded as a result of the communication control process illustrated in FIG.
- the communication control apparatus 200a provides the first primary communication service on the frequency channel F1.
- the terminal device 100a is connected to the first primary communication service using the first SIM information.
- the communication control device 300a is located relatively close to the terminal device 100a, and provides the secondary communication service SecA using the frequency channel F1 secondarily.
- the communication control device 300a maintains the service area of the secondary communication service SecA in a narrow range so as not to give excessive interference to the terminal device 100a. Since the terminal device 306a is located outside the service area of the secondary communication service SecA, the secondary communication service SecA cannot be used.
- the communication control device 200b provides the second primary communication service on the frequency channel F2.
- the terminal device 100b is connected to the second primary communication service using the second SIM information.
- the communication control device 300b is located relatively close to the terminal device 100b, and provides the secondary communication service SecB using the frequency channel F2 secondarily.
- the communication control device 300b maintains the service area of the secondary communication service SecB in a narrow range so as not to give excessive interference to the terminal device 100b. Since the terminal device 306b is located outside the service area of the secondary communication service SecB, the secondary communication service SecB cannot be used.
- FIG. 10 shows a state after the communication control process illustrated in FIG. 8 is executed in the situation of FIG.
- the terminal device 100a switches the SIM information from the first SIM information to the second SIM information, and newly connects to the second primary communication service.
- the service area of the secondary communication service SecA that uses a frequency channel different from that of the second primary communication service is expanding.
- the terminal device 306a since the terminal device 306a is located inside the service area of the secondary communication service SecA, the secondary communication service SecA can be used.
- the terminal device 100b switches the SIM information from the second SIM information to the first SIM information, and newly connects to the first primary communication service.
- the service area of the secondary communication service SecB that uses a frequency channel different from that of the first primary communication service is expanding.
- the secondary communication service SecB can be used.
- the base station BS1 provides a first primary communication service to one or more terminal devices on the frequency channel F1.
- the base station BS1 is connected to the core network N1.
- the base station BS2 provides a second primary communication service to one or more terminal devices on the frequency channel F2.
- Base station BS2 is connected to core network N2.
- the core networks N1 and N2 may be connected to each other via the Internet N3, for example.
- the wireless access point AP1 uses the frequency channel F1 secondarily to provide a secondary communication service.
- the communication control device 400 is a control node connected to the core network N1.
- the communication control device 400 has both functions of the communication control devices 200 and 300 described above. That is, the communication control device 400 controls the provision of the first primary communication service by the base station BS1 and also the provision of the secondary communication service by the wireless access point AP1. For example, the communication control device 400 instructs the terminal device 100 to switch the SIM information according to the communication quality of the terminal device 100 connected to the first primary communication service using the first SIM information. Then, the terminal device 100 switches the SIM information and newly connects to the second primary communication service. Then, the communication control device 400 increases the transmission power of the secondary communication service provided by the wireless access point AP1. As a result, the use opportunity of the secondary communication service provided by the wireless access point AP1 can be expanded.
- the configuration according to this modification it is possible to control the transmission power of the secondary communication service more promptly and finely according to the state of the primary communication service. For example, signaling between the communication control device 200a and the communication control device 300 illustrated in FIG. 8 is not necessary, and the communication control device 400 uses the various parameters reported from the terminal device 100 to transmit power of the secondary communication service. Can be determined.
- SIM information corresponding to a frequency channel that is secondarily used by a secondary communication service is changed to other SIM information.
- the transmission power of the secondary communication service is increased.
- the bit rate of the secondary communication service is increased, or the service area is expanded. Therefore, it is possible to positively create an opportunity to use the secondary communication service without using excessive interference to the primary receiving station, and to efficiently use limited resources.
- the control of the transmission power of the secondary communication service described above may be performed in accordance with, for example, an instruction for switching SIM information from a node that instructs the terminal device to switch SIM information to the terminal device.
- an instruction for switching SIM information from a node that instructs the terminal device to switch SIM information to the terminal device.
- the necessity of switching SIM information can be determined on the wireless communication network side, and the use opportunities of the secondary communication service can be expanded according to the determination result.
- the switching of the SIM information may be performed spontaneously in the terminal device and reported to the node that controls the transmission power of the secondary communication service. According to this configuration, it is possible to expand the usage opportunities of the secondary communication service without increasing the processing load of the node that provides the primary communication service.
- a signaling mechanism is provided from a node that provides the primary communication service to a node that controls the transmission power of the secondary communication service. Therefore, even when the secondary communication service and the primary communication service are provided by different operators, it is possible to realize control of the transmission power of the secondary communication service according to the status of the primary communication service.
- the secondary communication service and the primary communication service are provided by the same operator, by integrally configuring a node that provides the primary communication service and a node that controls the transmission power of the secondary communication service, The transmission power of the secondary communication service can be controlled more promptly and finely according to the status of the primary communication service.
- the communication quality measured for the primary communication service being connected by the terminal device when the communication quality measured for the primary communication service being connected by the terminal device is below a given threshold, the communication quality for the other primary communication service can be measured.
- the communication quality for the other primary communication service is higher, the SIM information can be switched. According to such a configuration, it is possible to avoid the communication quality enjoyed by the multi-SIM terminal from being impaired by the switching of the SIM information. Further, it is possible to reduce the processing overhead by reducing the number of times of determining the necessity of switching SIM information.
- the embodiment described above can also be applied to a scene in which a multi-SIM terminal that is already widely used and includes a plurality of SIM cards is used. Further, the above-described embodiment can be applied to a scene where a terminal that stores a plurality of SIM information or can rewrite SIM information is used.
- a series of control processing by each device described in this specification may be realized using any of software, hardware, and a combination of software and hardware.
- a program constituting the software is stored in advance in a storage medium provided inside or outside each device.
- Each program is read into the RAM at the time of execution and executed by the processor, for example.
- the example in which the terminal device has two pieces of SIM information has been mainly described, but the above-described embodiment can be equally applied to a case where the terminal device has three or more pieces of SIM information.

(SINR:Signal to Interference and Noise power Ratio)を計算する。
制御部130は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)又はDSP(Digital Signal Processor)などのプロセッサを用いて、端末装置100の動作全般を制御する。

プライマリ通信サービスに接続し得る複数の端末装置は、CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)方式、OFDMA(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access)方式又はTDMA(Time Division Multiple Access)方式などの任意の多重アクセス方式を用いて多重化されてよい。
