Description

車両用サイドドア構造及び乗員保護システム
 本発明は、車両用サイドドア構造及び乗員保護システムに関する。
 特許文献1(特開平07-232554号公報)には、サイドドアのインナパネルとアウタパネルとの間における車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部と対応する位置にドアパッド(アウタパッド)を設けると共に、ドアトリムにトリムパッド(インナパッド)を設け、更にインナパネルの作業開口をドアパッドの外形よりも大きく設定した構造が開示されている。
 また、特許文献2(特開2005-138838号公報)には、アウタパネルの内面に設けたインパクトバーに支持された第1衝撃吸収パッドと、第1衝撃吸収パッドの車両内側の位置でインナパネルに取り付けられた第2衝撃吸収パッドと、第2衝撃吸収パッドの車両内側の位置でドアトリムに固定された第3衝撃吸収パッドとを設けた構造が開示されている。この構造では、第1衝撃吸収パッドと第2衝撃吸収パッドと第3衝撃吸収パッドとはインナパネルの開口穴に対応する高さに設定されている。

 上記特許文献1による場合、側面衝突時にドアパッドがインナパネルに当たることなくトリムパッドを押すことで、エネルギー吸収量を増加させることが可能である。しかし、車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部に対応する位置に大きな作業開口を形成できない車両にあっては、側面衝突時にドアパッドとトリムパッドにより乗員の腰部を広いエリア(面積)で早期に押すことが困難である。また、側面衝突時にドアパッドをインパクトバーとの取付部から切り離す構成のため、乗員の腰部を安定して一様に押すことが難しい。
 また、上記特許文献2による場合、第2衝撃吸収パッドがインナパネルの開口穴に貫通して保持部材を介してインナパネルに取り付けられており、車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部に対応する位置に大きな開口穴を形成できない車両にあっては、側面衝突時に各衝撃吸収パッドにより乗員の腰部を広い面積で早期に押すことが難しい。
 本発明は上記事実を考慮し、側面衝突時に乗員の腰部を広い面積で早期に押すことができる車両用サイドドア構造及び乗員保護システムを得ることが目的である。
 本発明に係る第1の態様の車両用サイドドア構造は、車両幅方向外側に配置されるドアアウタパネルと、車両幅方向内側に配置され、前記ドアアウタパネルとで袋状に形成されると共に、車両前後方向の中間部にサービスホールが形成されたドアインナパネルと、前記ドアインナパネルの車両幅方向内側に取り付けられるドアトリムと、前記ドアインナパネルと前記ドアトリムとの間に配置されると共に、車両側面視にて前記サービスホールの外周縁に車両前後方向に跨るように設けられ、車両側面からの衝撃を吸収するインナパッドと、前記ドアアウタパネルと前記ドアインナパネルとの間に配置されると共に、車両側面視にて前記インナパッドの車両幅方向外側に重なるように設けられ、かつ、側面衝突時に前記ドアアウタパネルに押されて前記サービスホールを通って前記インナパッドを前記ドアトリム側へ押す第1の部位と、側面衝突時に前記第1の部位と分かれて前記ドアインナパネルを介して前記インナパッドを前記ドアトリム側へ押す第2の部位と、を備えたアウタパッドと、を有する。
 本発明に係る第2の態様の車両用サイドドア構造は、第1の態様に記載の車両用サイドドア構造において、前記アウタパッドには、前記サービスホールの外周縁に沿って側面衝突時に前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位との破断の起点となるように脆弱部が設けられている。
 本発明に係る第3の態様の車両用サイドドア構造は、第1の態様又は第2の態様に記載の車両用サイドドア構造において、前記ドアアウタパネルと前記ドアインナパネルとの間に車両前後方向に沿ってインパクトビームが延在されており、前記アウタパッドにおける前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位とは、別個のブラケットにより前記インパクトビームに取り付けられている。
 本発明に係る第4の態様の車両用サイドドア構造は、第1の態様から第3の態様のいずれか1つの態様に記載の車両用サイドドア構造において、前記アウタパッドは、前記第2の部位が前記第1の部位よりも硬く又は高剛性に構成されている。
 本発明に係る第5の態様の車両用サイドドア構造は、第1の態様に記載の車両用サイドドア構造において、前記アウタパッドは、前記サービスホールの外周縁に沿って前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位に予め分割されている。
 本発明に係る第6の態様の車両用サイドドア構造は、第5の態様に記載の車両用サイドドア構造において、前記ドアアウタパネルと前記ドアインナパネルとの間に車両前後方向に沿ってインパクトビームが延在されており、前記アウタパッドにおける前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位とは、別個のブラケットにより前記インパクトビームに取り付けられている。
 本発明に係る第7の態様の車両用サイドドア構造は、第5の態様又は第6の態様に記載の車両用サイドドア構造において、前記アウタパッドは、前記第2の部位が前記第1の部位よりも硬く又は高剛性に構成されている。
 本発明に係る第8の態様の乗員保護システムは、第2の態様から第4の態様までのいずれか1つの態様に記載の車両用サイドドア構造を備え、側面衝突時に車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部と前記ドアトリムとの間に袋体が膨張展開するサイドエアバック装置が前記車両用シートの一部を構成するシートバックの側部、又は前記ドアトリムの内部に設けられている。
 本発明に係る第1の態様の車両用サイドドア構造によれば、サービスホールが形成されたドアインナパネルとその車両幅方向内側に取り付けられるドアトリムとの間に、車両側面視にてサービスホールの外周縁に車両前後方向に跨るようにインナパッドが設けられている。また、ドアアウタパネルとドアインナパネルとの間には、車両側面視にてインナパッドの車両幅方向外側に重なるようにアウタパッドが設けられている。すなわち、アウタパッドは、サービスホールと対向する第1の部位と、ドアインナパネルに対応する第2の部位とを備えている。そして、側面衝突時にドアアウタパネルが車両幅方向内側に侵入すると、ドアアウタパネルに押されて第1の部位がサービスホールを通ってインナパッドをドアトリム側へ押し、また、ドアアウタパネルに押されて第2の部位が第1の部位と分かれてドアインナパネルを介してインナパッドをドアトリム側へ押す。このため、アウタパッドを車両側面視にてサービスホールの外周縁に車両前後方向に跨るように配置しても、アウタパッドがドアインナパネルに引っ掛かりサービスホールに対向する部位がインナパッドを早期に押圧できないことが改善される。したがって、側面衝突時に車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部を広い面積で早期に押すことが可能となる。
 本発明に係る第2の態様の車両用サイドドア構造によれば、アウタパッドには、サービスホールの外周縁に沿って脆弱部が設けられており、側面衝突時にアウタパネルの侵入に伴ってアウタパッドの脆弱部がドアインナパネルにおけるサービスホールの外周縁付近に当たることで、脆弱部が起点となってアウタパッドが第1の部位と第2の部位とに破断する。これにより、アウタパッドが第1の部位と第2の部位とに分割されて独立してドアトリム側に移動することが可能となる。このため、第1の部位と第2の部位によりインナパッドを早期に広い範囲で押すことができる。
 本発明に係る第5の態様の車両用サイドドア構造によれば、アウタパッドは、サービスホールの外周縁に沿って第1の部位と第2の部位に予め分割されており、側面衝突時にアウタパネルの侵入に伴って第1の部位と第2の部位とが独立してドアトリム側に移動する。このため、第1の部位と第2の部位によりインナパッドを更に早期に広い範囲で押すことができる。
 本発明に係る第3の態様又は第6の態様の車両用サイドドア構造によれば、アウタパッドにおける第1の部位と第2の部位とは、別個のブラケットによりインパクトビームに取り付けられており、側面衝突時に第1の部位と第2の部位がインパクトビームに切り離されずに支持されている。このため、第1の部位と第2の部位がインパクトビームから切り離される場合に比べて、車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部への入力が安定する。
 本発明に係る第4の態様又は第7の態様の車両用サイドドア構造によれば、アウタパッドは、第2の部位が第1の部位よりも硬く又は高剛性に構成されており、側面衝突時に第2の部位がドアインナパネルを介してインナパッドをより強く押すことが可能である。
 本発明に係る第8の態様の乗員保護システムによれば、車両用シートの一部を構成するシートバックの側部、又はドアトリムの内部にサイドエアバック装置が設けられており、側面衝突時にサイドエアバックが車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部とドアトリムとの間に膨張展開する。このため、サイドエアバックの膨張展開によりドアトリムからドアインナパネルに伝わる入力を利用して、アウタパッドを脆弱部を起点として第1の部位と第2の部位とに早期に破断することが可能である。
 本発明に係る車両用サイドドア構造及び乗員保護システムによれば、側面衝突時に乗員の腰部を広い面積で早期に押すことができる。

 以下、図1~図5を用いて、本発明に係る車両用サイドドア構造の第1実施形態について説明する。なお、これらの図において適宜示される矢印FRは車両前方側を示しており、矢印UPは車両上方側を示しており、矢印OUTは車両幅方向外側を示している。
 図1には、本実施形態に係る車両用サイドドア構造が適用された車両の側部が側面図にて示されている。図1に示されるように、車両10のボデー本体11の側部には、車両前後方向にフロントサイドドア開口部12とリアサイドドア開口部14とが形成されている。フロントサイドドア開口部12には、フロントサイドドア16がヒンジ18によって開閉可能に取付けられており、リアサイドドア開口部14には、リアサイドドア20がヒンジ22によって開閉可能に取付けられている。フロントサイドドア16は、車両幅方向外側に配置されるドアアウタパネル40と、車両幅方向内側に配置されるドアインナパネル42(図3参照)とを備えている。
 フロントサイドドア16の内部には、車体前後方向に沿ってインパクトビーム24が配設されており、インパクトビーム24の前端部24Aは、ブラケット26を介してドアインナパネル42の前端部に固定されている。インパクトビーム24の後端部24Bは、ブラケット28を介してドアインナパネル42の後端部に固定されている。フロントサイドドア16には、本実施形態の車両用サイドドア構造50が適用されており、フロントサイドドア16の内部におけるインパクトビーム24の後端部24B側には、アウタパッド52が取り付けられている。車両用サイドドア構造50については後に詳述する。
 また、リアサイドドア20の内部には、車体前後方向に沿ってインパクトビーム30が配設されている。インパクトビーム30の前端部30Aと後端部30Bは、それぞれブラケット32、34を介してドアインナパネル(図示省略)の前後の端部に固定されている。なお、図示を省略するが、インパクトビーム30の後端部30B側にはドアアウタパッドが取り付けられている。
 図2には、車両用サイドドア構造50が適用されたフロントサイドドア16のアウタパッド及びインナパッドの取付状態が車両幅方向外側から見た拡大側面図にて示されている。また、図3には、フロントサイドドア16のアウタパッド及びインナパッドの取付状態が平断面図にて示されており、図4には、フロントサイドドア16のアウタパッド及びインナパッドの取付状態が縦断面図(図2の4-4線に沿った縦断面図)にて示されている。図3に示されるように、フロントサイドドア16は、金属製のドアアウタパネル40の周縁部40Aが金属製のドアインナパネル42の周縁部42Aにヘミング加工により一体化されて閉断面を構成している。ドアインナパネル42の車両前後方向の中間部には、周縁部42Aより車両幅方向内側に突出して車両上下方向及び車両前後方向に配置される縦壁部42Bが形成されている。図2~図4に示されるように、ドアインナパネル42における縦壁部42Bの中央部付近には、略長円形状の開口からなるサービスホール44が形成されている。
 ドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bの車両幅方向内側には、樹脂製のドアトリム46が図示しないクリップ等により取り付けられている(図3等参照)。ドアトリム46は、車両前後方向の端部46Aから車両幅方向内側(車室48側)に張り出すように湾曲しており、その湾曲面の車両幅方向内側に車両上下方向及び車両前後方向に沿って縦壁部46Bが形成されている。
 ドアインナパネル42とドアトリム46との間には、車両側面からの衝撃を吸収するためのインナパッド56が配置されている。インナパッド56は、ドアトリム46における縦壁部46Bの外側壁面(車両幅方向外側の壁面)に接着剤等により固定されている。車両側面視にてインナパッド56は、サービスホール44の車両後方側の外周縁44Aを車両前後方向に跨ぐように配置されている。すなわち、インナパッド56の車両前後方向の前方側部位56Aは、サービスホール44と対向するように配置されており、インナパッド56の車両前後方向の後方側部位56Bは、ドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bと対向するように配置されている(図2及び図3参照)。インナパッド56がドアトリム46の縦壁部46Bに固定された状態では、インナパッド56の後方側部位56Bの外側壁面とドアインナパネル42の内側壁面との間に隙間が設けられている。インナパッド56は、発泡性の樹脂又はゴムなどの弾性体で形成されている。
 ドアアウタパネル40とドアインナパネル42との間には、車両側面からの衝撃を吸収するためのアウタパッド52が配置されており、車両側面視にてアウタパッド52は、インナパッド56の車両幅方向外側に重なるように配置されている。すなわち、車両側面視にてアウタパッド52は、略矩形状に形成されており、サービスホール44の車両後方側の外周縁44Aを車両前後方向に跨ぐように配置されている。アウタパッド52は、発泡性の樹脂又はゴムなどの弾性体で形成されている。
 アウタパッド52の車両幅方向内側の壁面には、サービスホール44の車両後方側の外周縁44Aに沿って車両幅方向外側に窪んだ脆弱部としての溝部(ノッチ)54が形成されている。アウタパッド52は、溝部54より車両前方側でサービスホール44と対向するように配置された前方側部位(第1の部位)52Aと、溝部54より車両後方側でドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bと対向するように配置された後方側部位(第2の部位)52Bと、を備えている(図2及び図3参照)。
 図2及び図4に示されるように、アウタパッド52の車両幅方向外側の壁面は、樹脂プレート60に接着剤等により固定されている。車両側面視にて樹脂プレート60は、略矩形状に形成されており、アウタパッド52の外形よりもひと回り大きく形成されている。
 樹脂プレート60は、インパクトビーム24に車両前後に配置された2つのブラケット62、64により取り付けられている(図2参照)。より具体的には、ブラケット62は、樹脂プレート60におけるアウタパッド52の前方側部位52Aと対応する部位を固定するものであり、ブラケット64は、樹脂プレート60におけるアウタパッド52の後方側部位52Bと対応する部位を固定するものである。
 ブラケット62は、樹脂プレート60と面接触状態で配置される平面状の取付部62Aと、取付部62Aの下方側に形成された凹状部62Bと、を備えている(図4参照)。また、インパクトビーム24は所定の強度及び剛性を備えたパイプ状の部材である。車両背面視にてブラケット62の凹状部62Bは、車両幅方向内側に突出するように略半円状に形成されており、凹状部62Bがインパクトビーム24の周面に接触するように配置されてアーク溶接によって接合されている(図2及び図4参照)。取付部62Aには2個のボルト貫通孔が形成されており、アウタパッド52には、取付部62Aのボルト貫通孔と対向する位置に、ボルト貫通孔よりひと回り大きい円形の貫通孔53が車両幅方向に沿って形成されている(図4参照)。取付部62Aは、樹脂プレート60に面接触状態で配置され、取付部62A及び樹脂プレート60がその両側からボルト66とナット68により締結固定されている。なお、ナット68を樹脂プレート60に予め固着し、取付部62A側からボルト66を挿通させて螺合させてもよい。取付部62A及び樹脂プレート60は車両前後で2組のボルト66とナット68で締結固定されることで、前方側部位52Aと対応する樹脂プレート60がブラケット62を介してインパクトビーム24に固定されている。
 ブラケット64は、ブラケット62よりも車両前後方向の幅が短く形成されている。ブラケット64は、樹脂プレート60と面接触状態で配置される平面状の取付部64Aと、取付部64Aの下方側に形成された凹状部64Bと、を備えている。車両背面視にて凹状部64Bは、車両幅方向内側に突出するように略半円状に形成されており、凹状部64Bがインパクトビーム24の周面に接触するように配置されてアーク溶接によって接合されている(図2参照)。取付部64Aは、樹脂プレート60に面接触状態で配置され、取付部64A及び樹脂プレート60がその両側から1組のボルト66とナット(図示省略)で締結固定されている。これにより、後方側部位52Bと対応する樹脂プレート60がブラケット64を介してインパクトビーム24に固定されている。樹脂プレート60に接着されたアウタパッド52がブラケット62、64を介してインパクトビーム24に固定された状態では、アウタパッド52の車両幅方向外側の面とドアアウタパネル40の車両幅方向内側の面との間に隙間が形成されている(図3参照)。
 アウタパッド52の壁面にサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って溝部54が形成されていることで、図5に示されるように側面衝突時にドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴ってアウタパッド52がドアインナパネル42におけるサービスホール44の外周縁44A付近に当たり、アウタパッド52が溝部54を起点として前方側部位(第1の部位)52Aと後方側部位(第2の部位)52Bとに破断するようになっている。これによって、アウタパッド52が前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとに分かれて車両幅方向内側に移動し、前方側部位52Aがサービスホール44を通ってインナパッド56をドアトリム46側へ押し込み、後方側部位52Bがドアインナパネル42を介してインナパッド56をドアトリム46側へ押し込むようになっている。
 図示を省略するが、樹脂プレート60には、溝部54(サービスホール44の外周縁44A)に沿ってノッチや複数の切れ込み(折れ線)などの脆弱部が形成されている。これにより、側面衝突時にドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴ってアウタパッド52がドアインナパネル42に当たって樹脂プレート60が脆弱部で割れることで、前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとが独立して移動することを許容している。また、車両側面視にて樹脂プレート60におけるブラケット64の上方側であってサービスホール44の外周縁44Aの車両後方側に切り欠き部を設け、側面衝突時に樹脂プレート60がサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って割れやすい構成としてもよい。
 また、本実施形態では、樹脂プレート60は一部品であるが、2部品で構成し、前方側部位52Aに対応する位置と後方側部位52Bに対応する位置とに配置してもよい。
 また、樹脂プレート60における前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bに対応する位置が別個のブラケット62、64を介してインパクトビーム24に固定されているため、アウタパッド52が前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bに破断した後に、前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bがインパクトビーム24から切り離されない構成とされている。
 図3に示されるように、車室48内には、フロントサイドドア16の車両幅方向内側に車両用シートとしての前席シート70が配設されている。前席シート70は、車室48のフロントサイドドア開口部12と対向する位置に設けられている。前席シート70は、着座した乗員80の尻部及び大腿部を支持するシートクッション72と、シートクッション72の車両前後方向の後端部に上下方向に沿って設けられ乗員の背部を支持するシートバック74と、を備えている。アウタパッド52とインナパッド56は、車両幅方向に沿って前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aと対応する位置に設けられている。
 次に、本実施形態の作用並びに効果について説明する。
 図5に示されるように、側面衝突時にドアアウタパネル40が車両幅方向内側(矢印A方向)に侵入すると、ドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴ってアウタパッド52がドアインナパネル42におけるサービスホール44の外周縁44A付近に当たり、溝部54が起点となってアウタパッド52が前方側部位(第1の部位)52Aと後方側部位(第2の部位)52Bとに破断する。これにより、衝突初期にアウタパッド52が前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとに分割されてそれぞれ独立して車両幅方向内側に移動する。このため、ドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴ってアウタパッド52の前方側部位52Aがサービスホール44を通ってインナパッド56を直接ドアトリム46側へ押し込み、アウタパッド52の後方側部位52Bがドアインナパネル42を介してインナパッド56をドアトリム46側へ押し込む。
 すなわち、アウタパッドが破断しない構成では、アウタパッドがドアインナパネル42に引っ掛かり、サービスホール44に対向する前方側部位がインナパッド56を早期に押圧できない可能性があるが、本実施形態の車両用サイドドア構造50では、前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとが破断することで、前方側部位52Aがインナパッド56を早期に押すことができる。この結果、側面衝突時に前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aを広い面積で早期に押すことができる。より具体的には、アウタパッド52の前方側部位52Aがインナパッド56を車両幅方向内側に押し込むことで、前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aを早期に押し、初期拘束力をアップすることができる。また、アウタパッド52の後方側部位52Bがドアインナパネル42を介してインナパッド56を車両幅方向内側に押し込むことで、前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aの拘束エリアを広げることができる。
 また、図2に示されるように、アウタパッド52における前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとは、別個のブラケット62、64によりインパクトビーム24に取り付けられている。これにより、側面衝突時にアウタパッド52が前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとに破断しても、前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bがインパクトビーム24に切り離されずに支持されているため、前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aへの入力が安定する。
 次に、図6を用いて、本発明に係る車両用サイドドア構造の第2実施形態について説明する。なお、第2実施形態において、第1実施形態と同一の構成要素、部材等については同一符号を付して、詳細な説明を省略する。
 図6に示されるように、本実施形態の車両用サイドドア構造90では、ドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bに対向するアウタパッド92の後方側部位52Bの内部に金属製(例えば鉄製)の板材94が埋め込まれている。板材94の車両前後方向の前端94Aは、車両側面視にてサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って配置されている。これにより、アウタパッド92の後方側部位52Bにおける板材94の前端94Aと、板材94が埋め込まれていない前方側部位52Aとの境界部分が、側面衝突時に破断の起点となる脆弱部とされている。
 側面衝突時にドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴ってアウタパッド92の後方側部位52Bがドアインナパネル42におけるサービスホール44の外周縁44A付近に当たることで、板材94の前端94Aと前方側部位52Aとの境界部分が起点となってアウタパッド92が前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとに破断する。これにより、アウタパッド92の前方側部位52Aがサービスホール44を通ってインナパッド56を車両幅方向内側に押し込み、アウタパッド92の後方側部位52Bがドアインナパネル42を介してインナパッド56を車両幅方向内側に押し込む。このため、前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aを広い面積で早期に押すことができる。
 また、アウタパッド92の後方側部位52Bに金属製の板材94を埋設し、後方側部位52Bを前方側部位52Aよりも高剛性とすることで、側面衝突時にドアインナパネル42を介してより強くインナパッド56をドアトリム46側に押圧することができる。
 なお、本実施形態では、アウタパッド92の後方側部位52Bの内部に金属製の板材94が埋め込まれているが、これに代えて、アウタパッド92の前方側部位52Aの内部に金属製の板材を埋め込み、車両側面視にて板材の後端をサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って配置してもよい。
 次に、図7を用いて、本発明に係る車両用サイドドア構造の第3実施形態について説明する。なお、第3実施形態において、第1実施形態及び第2実施形態と同一の構成要素、部材等については同一符号を付して、詳細な説明を省略する。
 図7に示されるように、本実施形態の車両用サイドドア構造100では、ドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bに対向するアウタパッド102の後方側部位52Bの車両幅方向内側に、脆弱部としての切り欠き部104が形成されている。車両側面視にて切り欠き部104の前端104Aは、サービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って配置されている。
 側面衝突時にドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴ってアウタパッド102の後方側部位52Bの切り欠き部104の前端104A付近がドアインナパネル42におけるサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに当たると、切り欠き部104の前端104A付近が起点となってアウタパッド102が前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとに破断する。これにより、アウタパッド102の前方側部位52Aがサービスホール44を通ってインナパッド56を車両幅方向内側に押し込み、アウタパッド102の後方側部位52Bがドアインナパネル42を介してインナパッド56を車両幅方向内側に押し込む。このため、前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aを広い面積で早期に押すことができる。
 なお、側面衝突時にアウタパッドの前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bの破断の起点となる脆弱部は、第1実施形態~第3実施形態の車両用サイドドア構造50、90、100に限定するものではなく、他の構成でもよい。例えば、アウタパッドにサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って複数の切れ込みを形成した構成や、アウタパッドの内部にサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って中空の穴を設けた構成などでもよい。すなわち、アウタパッドにサービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿って強度差を設けた構成であればよい。
 なお、第1実施形態~第3実施形態では、アウタパッド52、92、102の前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bは、例えば発泡性の樹脂等により同じ硬さの弾性体で形成されているが、これに限定されず、サービスホール44に対向する前方側部位52Aよりもドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bに対向する後方側部位52Bを硬く構成してもよい。例えば、サービスホール44に対向する前方側部位52Aの発泡率よりもドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bに対向する後方側部位52Bの発泡率を低くすることで、後方側部位52Bを硬くすることができる。また、アウタパッドの断面形状を変える(例えば、中空断面、又はU字状断面など)ことで、前方側部位52Aよりも後方側部位52Bを硬くすることができる。この構成により、側面衝突時に後方側部位52Bがドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bを介してインナパッド56をより強く押すことができる。
 次に、図8を用いて、本発明に係る車両用サイドドア構造の第4実施形態について説明する。なお、第4実施形態において、第1実施形態~第3実施形態と同一の構成要素、部材等については同一符号を付して、詳細な説明を省略する。
 図8には、車両用サイドドア構造120が適用されたフロントサイドドアに用いられるアウタパッド122の取付状態が車両幅方向内側から見た側面図にて示されている。この図に示されるように、アウタパッド122は、サービスホール44の車両後方側の外周縁44Aに沿って、予めサービスホール44と対向する前方側部位(第1の部位)122Aと、ドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bと対向する後方側部位(第2の部位)122Bとに分割されている。前方側部位122Aと後方側部位122Bとは、前方側部位122Aの後端面と後方側部位122Bの前端面との間に隙間が形成された状態で樹脂プレート60に接着剤等により固定されている。
 図示を省略するが、樹脂プレート60には、サービスホール44の外周縁44Aに沿ってノッチ又は複数の切れ込み(折れ線)等の脆弱部が形成されており、側面衝突時に樹脂プレート60が脆弱部を起点として割れることで、前方側部位122Aと後方側部位122Bとが独立して移動することを許容する。
 また、アウタパッド122の前方側部位122Aと後方側部位122Bは、発泡性の樹脂又はゴムからなる弾性体で形成されており、前方側部位122Aよりも後方側部位122Bが硬い構成とされている。本実施形態では、前方側部位122Aの発泡率よりも後方側部位122Bの発泡率を低くすることで、後方側部位122Bを硬くしている。
 このような車両用サイドドア構造120では、アウタパッド122は前方側部位122Aと後方側部位122Bとに予め分割されており、側面衝突時にドアアウタパネル40(図3参照)の侵入に伴って樹脂プレート60が脆弱部を起点として割れると共に、前方側部位122Aと後方側部位122Bとが独立して車両幅方向内側に移動する。すなわち、ドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴って前方側部位122Aがサービスホール44を通ってインナパッド56(図3参照)を車両幅方向内側に押し込み、後方側部位122Bがドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bを介してインナパッド56を車両幅方向内側に押し込む。これにより、前席シートに着座した乗員の腰部を広い面積で早期に押すことができる。
 また、アウタパッド122は、前方側部位122Aよりも後方側部位122Bが硬い構成とされており、側面衝突時に後方側部位122Bがドアインナパネル42の縦壁部42Bを介してインナパッド56をより強く押圧することができる。
 なお、本実施形態では、前方側部位122Aの発泡率よりも後方側部位122Bの発泡率を低くすることで、後方側部位122Bを硬くしたが、これに限定されず、前方側部位122Aと後方側部位122Bの断面形状を変えたり(例えば、中空断面、車両幅方向の厚さの変更など)、又は後方側部位122Bの内部に金属板を埋設する等により、前方側部位122Aよりも後方側部位122Bを硬く又は高剛性とする構成でもよい。
 次に、図9を用いて、本発明に係る乗員保護システムの第5実施形態について説明する。なお、第5実施形態において、第1実施形態~第4実施形態と同一の構成要素、部材等については同一符号を付して、詳細な説明を省略する。
 図9には、乗員保護システム150が適用されたフロントサイドドア16付近の構成が平断面図にて示されている。この図に示されるように、乗員保護システム150には、前席シート(車両用シート)70の一部を構成するシートバック74の車両幅方向外側の側部にサイドエアバック装置152が搭載されている。サイドエアバック装置152は、ケース152A内に折り畳んで収納された袋体としてのサイドエアバック154と、側面衝突状態が側面衝突センサ(図示省略)によって検出されコントローラ(図示省略)によって通電されると、大量のガスを発生してサイドエアバック154内にガスを噴出させるインフレータ(図示省略)等を備えている。
 このサイドエアバック装置152では、側面衝突により車両に所定値以上の大きな加速度が加わると、この状態が側面衝突センサによって検出され、コントローラからインフレータの点火装置に所定の電流が通電される。これにより、インフレータが作動し、大量のガスを発生し、シートバック74の側面が開いてサイドエアバック154を膨張展開させる。すなわち、サイドエアバック154をドアトリム46と前席シート70に着座した乗員80との間に膨張展開させることで、運動エネルギーを吸収し、乗員を保護するようになっている。
 この乗員保護システム150によれば、側面衝突時にドアトリム46と前席シート70に着座した乗員80との間にサイドエアバック154が膨張展開されると、サイドエアバック154の車両幅方向の両側の面が乗員80の腰部80Aとドアトリム46に当たる。これにより、サイドエアバック154がドアトリム46を車両幅方向外側に押し、矢印Bに示されるようにドアトリム46の端部46Aからドアインナパネル42に入力される。さらに、ドアインナパネル42におけるサービスホール44の外周縁44A付近がアウタパッド52を車両外側に押すことで、アウタパッド52が溝部54を起点として前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとに破断する。これにより、ドアアウタパネル40の侵入に伴って前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとが独立して車両幅方向内側に移動することが可能となる。
 このような乗員保護システム150では、ドアアウタパネル40の侵入によってアウタパッド52を分割する前に、サイドエアバック154の膨張展開によってアウタパッド52を分割することができ、乗員80の腰部80Aを広い面積で早期に押すことができる。
 なお、本実施形態の乗員保護システム150では、シートバック74の車両幅方向外側の側部にサイドエアバック装置152が設けられているが、これに代えて、図9中の二点鎖線で示されるように、ドアトリム46内の後部におけるドアインナパネル42側にサイドエアバック装置170を設け、側面衝突時にドアトリム46が開いてサイドエアバックが膨張展開される構成としてもよい。この構成でも、膨張展開されたサイドエアバックが前席シート70に着座した乗員80の腰部80Aとドアトリム46に当たることで、ドアインナパネル42への入力を利用してアウタパッド52を溝部54を起点として前方側部位52Aと後方側部位52Bとに破断させることができる。
 なお、上述した第1実施形態~第5実施形態では、アウタパッドは、サービスホール44の後方側の外周縁44Aに車両前後方向に跨るように配置することで、サービスホール44と対向する前方側部位(第1の部位)と、ドアインナパネル42と対向する後方側部位(第2の部位)と、を備えているが、この構成に限定されるものではない。例えば、アウタパッドは、サービスホール44の前方側の外周縁44Aに車両前後方向に跨るように配置されることで、サービスホール44と対向する後方側部位(第1の部位)と、ドアインナパネルと対向する前方側部位(第2の部位)と、を備える構成でもよい。すなわち、側面衝突時に後方側部位(第1の部位)がサービスホール44を通ってインナパッドをドアトリム側に押し、前方側部位(第2の部位)が後方側部位と分かれてドアインナパネルを介してインナパッドをドアトリム側に押すようにしてもよい。
 また、上述した第1実施形態~第5実施形態では、フロントサイドドア16に本発明の車両用サイドドア構造50を適用したが、これに限定されず、リアサイドドア20に第1実施形態~第5実施形態の車両用サイドドア構造50を適用してもよい。

Claims (8)

  1.  車両幅方向外側に配置されるドアアウタパネルと、
     車両幅方向内側に配置され、前記ドアアウタパネルとで袋状に形成されると共に、車両前後方向の中間部にサービスホールが形成されたドアインナパネルと、
     前記ドアインナパネルの車両幅方向内側に取り付けられるドアトリムと、
     前記ドアインナパネルと前記ドアトリムとの間に配置されると共に、車両側面視にて前記サービスホールの外周縁に車両前後方向に跨るように設けられ、車両側面からの衝撃を吸収するインナパッドと、
     前記ドアアウタパネルと前記ドアインナパネルとの間に配置されると共に、車両側面視にて前記インナパッドの車両幅方向外側に重なるように設けられ、かつ、側面衝突時に前記ドアアウタパネルに押されて前記サービスホールを通って前記インナパッドを前記ドアトリム側へ押す第1の部位と、側面衝突時に前記第1の部位と分かれて前記ドアインナパネルを介して前記インナパッドを前記ドアトリム側へ押す第2の部位と、を備えたアウタパッドと、
     を有する車両用サイドドア構造。
  2.  前記アウタパッドには、前記サービスホールの外周縁に沿って側面衝突時に前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位との破断の起点となるように脆弱部が設けられている請求項1に記載の車両用サイドドア構造。
  3.  前記ドアアウタパネルと前記ドアインナパネルとの間に車両前後方向に沿ってインパクトビームが延在されており、
     前記アウタパッドにおける前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位とは、別個のブラケットにより前記インパクトビームに取り付けられている請求項1又は請求項2に記載の車両用サイドドア構造。
  4.  前記アウタパッドは、前記第2の部位が前記第1の部位よりも硬く又は高剛性に構成されている請求項1から請求項3までのいずれか1項に記載の車両用サイドドア構造。
  5.  前記アウタパッドは、前記サービスホールの外周縁に沿って前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位に予め分割されている請求項1に記載の車両用サイドドア構造。
  6.  前記ドアアウタパネルと前記ドアインナパネルとの間に車両前後方向に沿ってインパクトビームが延在されており、
     前記アウタパッドにおける前記第1の部位と前記第2の部位とは、別個のブラケットにより前記インパクトビームに取り付けられている請求項5に記載の車両用サイドドア構造。
  7.  前記アウタパッドは、前記第2の部位が前記第1の部位よりも硬く又は高剛性に構成されている請求項5又は請求項6に記載の車両用サイドドア構造。
  8.  請求項2から請求項4までのいずれか1項に記載の車両用サイドドア構造を備え、
     側面衝突時に車両用シートに着座した乗員の腰部と前記ドアトリムとの間にサイドエアバックが膨張展開するサイドエアバック装置が前記車両用シートの一部を構成するシートバックの側部、又は前記ドアトリムの内部に設けられている乗員保護システム。
