浄化装置
  本発明は、貯留槽内の液体を浄化する液体浄化装置に関するものである。
  従来より、液中の不純物を除去して液体を浄化する液浄化技術が広く知られている。このような液体浄化技術の一例として、特許文献1には、放電を行って液体を浄化する放電ユニットを備えた液処理装置が開示されている。
  特許文献1に記載された液処理装置では、液中に設けられた電極対の間で放電が行われるように、直流電源から電極対に高電圧が印加される。これにより、液中では放電に伴ってOHラジカル(水酸ラジカル)等の活性種が生成し、液中の窒素系化合物、有機系化合物等を分解するとともに、液体の殺菌、消毒を行うことができる。

  従来の液処理装置においては、放電によって水酸ラジカルを生成しているが、水酸ラジカルは寿命が短いため、所望の浄化効果を得ることが難しかった。
  本発明は、かかる点に鑑みてなされたものであり、液体の浄化を効果的に行うことができる浄化装置を提供することを目的とする。
  第1の発明は、浄化装置であって、液体を貯留する貯留槽(41)と、電源(70,70a,70b,70c)と、該電源(70,70a,70b,70c)に接続され、前記貯留槽(41)の液体中で放電を生起し、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体中に水酸ラジカルを生成させる電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)と、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に超音波を照射することで、生成した水酸ラジカルが変化して生成する前記液体中の過酸化水素を水酸ラジカルに変換させる超音波発生部(94)とを備えていることを特徴としている。
  第1の発明では、放電による液体の浄化と、放電により生じた過酸化水素を超音波で分解し、水酸ラジカルを発生させることによる液体の浄化とを組み合わせて液体を効果的に浄化する。
  第2の発明は、第1の発明において、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を制御する第1制御部(1)と、前記超音波発生部(94)の動作を制御する第2制御部(5)とをさらに備え、前記第1制御部(1)及び前記第2制御部(5)は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の上限値を超えないように、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加と前記超音波発生部(94)の動作とをそれぞれ制御することを特徴としている。
  第2の発明では、浄化装置から外部へ供給される液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が上限値以下に抑えられるので、過酸化水素を除去するための処理が容易になる。
  第3の発明は、第2の発明において、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度を検知するセンサ(7)をさらに備え、前記第1制御部(1)は、前記センサ(7)の検知信号に基づいて前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を制御し、前記第2制御部(5)は、前記センサ(7)の検知信号に基づいて前記超音波発生部(94)の動作を制御することを特徴としている。
  第4の発明は、第3の発明において、少なくとも前記液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が前記上限値を越えた場合には、前記第1制御部(1)が、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を停止して前記放電を停止させるとともに、前記第2制御部(5)が、前記超音波発生部(94)を駆動させることを特徴としている。
  第5の発明は、第2乃至第4の発明の何れか1つにおいて、前記第2制御部(5)は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の下限値を超える期間中、前記超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にすることを特徴としている。
  第5の発明では、超音波発生部(94)は液体の過酸化水素濃度が下限値以上である場合に駆動状態にされるので、液中の過酸化水素から効率的且つ継続的に水酸ラジカルが生成される。
  第6の発明は、第1の発明において、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加と、前記超音波発生部(94)の動作との制御を行う制御部をさらに備え、前記制御部は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の上限値を超えないように、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加と前記超音波発生部(94)の動作とを制御することを特徴としている。
  第7の発明は、第6の発明において、前記制御部は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の上限値を超えた場合には、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を停止して前記放電を停止させ、前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の下限値を超える期間中、前記超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にすることを特徴としている。
  第8の発明は、第1乃至第7の発明の何れか1つにおいて、前記貯留槽(41)内の液体中に泡を吐出する吐出部(119)と、前記吐出手段(119)に気体を送る送出部(99)とをさらに備え、前記電極対(64,65)は、板状であって、互いに対向するよう配置され、前記電源(70b)は、前記電極対(64,65)にパルス電圧を印加し、前記吐出部(119)は、前記電極対(64,65)の間であって、前記貯留槽(41)の底部に配置されていることを特徴としている。
  第9の発明は、第1乃至第8の発明の何れか1つにおいて、前記液体は、水道水であることを特徴としている。

  本発明によれば、放電による液体の浄化と、過酸化水素の存在下での超音波照射による液体の浄化を適切に組み合わせることにより、放電のみを用いて液体を浄化する場合に比べて高い浄化能力を発揮させつつ、液体の過酸化水素濃度の増加を抑えることが可能となる。
  第2の発明によれば、浄化装置から外部へと供給される液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が上限値以下に抑えられるので、過酸化水素を除去するための処理が容易になる。
  第3の発明によれば、第1制御部(1)及び第2制御部(5)が、貯留槽(41)内の液体の過酸化水素濃度に応じて放電の制御及び超音波照射の制御をそれぞれ行うので、液体の過酸化水素濃度が所望の範囲内になるよう制御しつつ、浄化処理を行うことができる。
  第4の発明によれば、液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が上限値を超えた場合に放電を停止させて過酸化水素の生成を停止させるので、液体の過酸化水素濃度を上限値以下にすることができ、処理後の液体からの過酸化水素の除去を容易にすることができる。
  第5の発明によれば、液体の過酸化水素濃度を下限値以上に制御することができるので、超音波を照射した場合に水酸ラジカルを効率良く発生させることが可能となる。
  第6の発明によれば、液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が上限値を超えないように制御部によって制御されるので、過酸化水素を除去するための処理を容易にすることができる。
  第7の発明によれば、液体の過酸化水素濃度を下限値以上に制御することができるので、超音波を照射した場合に水酸ラジカルを効率良く発生させることが可能となる。
  第8の発明によれば、電極対(64,65)にパルス電圧を印加する場合であっても放電を生起させることができるので、液中で水酸ラジカルを効率的に発生させ、超音波照射と組み合わせることでより高い浄化効果を得ることができる。

  本願発明者らは、上述の課題を解決するための種々の検討の中で、水中での放電によって液中の過酸化水素の濃度が増加すること、及びその際の過酸化水素の濃度は水を電気分解する場合と比べて条件によっては100倍程度にもなることを実験的に確認した。これは、放電によって生じた水酸ラジカルや酸素ラジカルが最終的に過酸化水素になったためと考えられる。
  一方、液体に超音波を照射した場合には、水から直接水酸ラジカルは生じないが、過酸化水素は分解し、水酸ラジカルが生成する。本願発明者らはこれらのことを考え合わせ、放電と超音波照射とを組み合わせることで、水酸ラジカルによって効果的且つ継続的に液体を浄化することができるとともに、液体の過酸化水素濃度を一定範囲に制御することができることに想到した。
  以下、本発明の実施形態を図面に基づいて詳細に説明する。なお、以下の実施形態は、本質的に好ましい例示であって、本発明、その適用物、あるいはその用途の範囲を制限することを意図するものではない。
  《発明の実施形態1》
  図1は、本発明の実施形態1における浄化装置を示す構成図である。
  同図に示すように、本実施形態における浄化装置は、液中での放電と液体への超音波照射とを組み合わせて液体を浄化するものであり、水等の液体を貯留する貯留槽(41)と、放電ユニット(62)と、貯留槽(41)内の液体に超音波を照射する超音波発生部(94)とを備えている。特に、本実施形態において、前記液体は、水道水が用いられている。この水道水は、塩素が溶存していることが好ましい。
  また、本実施形態の浄化装置は、高電圧発生部(70)に接続された放電波形発生部(3)と、電極対(64,65)に与える電圧の印加を制御する第1制御部(1)と、増幅器(9)を介して超音波発生部(94)に所定の周波数の交流電圧を供給する超音波波形発生部(8)と、超音波波形発生部(8)を介して超音波発生部(94)の動作を制御する第2制御部(5)と、貯留槽(41)内の液体の過酸化水素濃度を検知するセンサ(7)とを備えている。なお、図示しないが、センサ(7)の検知信号に基づいて第1制御部(1)及び第2制御部(5)を制御する中央演算装置(CPU)が設けられていてもよい。前記第1制御部(1)及び第2制御部(5)による放電ユニット(62)及び超音波発生部(94)の制御方法については、後に説明する。なお、後述のいわゆるフィードフォワード制御を行う場合、センサ(7)は必ずしも設けられなくてもよい。
  貯留槽(41)は、流入路(201)から流入した液体が貯留され、浄化された液体が流出路(202)を通して装置外部へと供給される。この貯留槽(41)は、例えば密閉型の容器状に形成される。
  放電ユニット(62)は、電極対(64,65)と、この電極対(64,65)に接続され、電圧を印加する高電圧発生部(70)と、電極A(64)を内部に収容する絶縁ケーシング(71)とを備えている。
  電極対(64,65)は、水中で放電を生起するためのものである。電極A(64)は、絶縁ケーシング(71)の内部に配置されている。電極A(64)は、扁平な板状に形成されている。電極A(64)は、高電圧発生部(70)に接続されている。
  電極B(65)は、絶縁ケーシング(71)の外部に配置されている。この電極B(65)は、もう一方の電極A(64)の上方に設けられている。電極B(65)は、扁平な板状であって、且つ複数の貫通孔(66)を有するメッシュ形状ないしパンチングメタル形状に構成されている。電極B(65)は、電極A(64)と略平行に配設されている。電極B(65)は、高電圧発生部(70)に接続されている。これらの電極(64,65)は、耐腐食性の高い導電性の材料で構成されている。
  高電圧発生部(70)は、例えば電極対(64,65)に所定の電圧を印加する電源で構成されていてもよい。即ち、高電圧発生部(70)は、電極対(64,65)に対して瞬時的に高電圧を繰り返し印加するようなパルス電源ではなく、電極対(64,65)に対して常に数キロボルトの電圧を印加する電源であってもよく、また、電極対(64,65)に対して数キロボルトの電圧を正極側と負極側とに交互に印加する交番電源であってもよい。また、高電圧発生部(70)には、電極対(64,65)の放電電流を一定に制御する定電流制御部が設けられていてもよく(図示省略)、電圧を一定に制御する定電圧制御部が設けられていてもよい。
  絶縁ケーシング(71)は、貯留槽(41)の底部に設置されている。絶縁ケーシング(71)は、例えばセラミックス等の絶縁材料で構成されている。絶縁ケーシング(71)は、一面(上面)が開放された容器状のケース本体(72)と、該ケース本体(72)の上方の開放部を閉塞する板状の蓋部(73)とを有している。
  ケース本体(72)は、角型筒状の側壁部(72a)と、該側壁部(72a)の底面を閉塞する底部(72b)とを有している。電極A(64)は、底部(72b)の上側に配置されている。絶縁ケーシング(71)では、蓋部(73)と底部(72b)との間の上下方向の距離が、電極A(64)の厚さよりも長くなっている。つまり、電極A(64)と蓋部(73)との間には、所定の間隔が確保されている。これにより、絶縁ケーシング(71)の内部では、電極A(64)とケース本体(72)と蓋部(73)との間に空間が形成される。
  また、絶縁ケーシング(71)の蓋部(73)には、該蓋部(73)を厚さ方向に貫通する1つ以上の開口(74)が形成されている。この開口(74)により、電極A(64)と電極B(65)との間の電界の形成が許容されている。蓋部(73)の開口(74)の内径は、0.02mm以上0.5mm以下であることが好ましい。以上のような開口(74)は、電極対(64,65)の間の電流経路の電流密度を上昇させる電流密度集中部を構成する。
  以上のように、絶縁ケーシング(71)は、電極対(64,65)のうちの一方の電極(電極A(64))のみを内部に収容し、且つ電流密度集中部としての開口(74)を有する絶縁部材を構成している。
  加えて、絶縁ケーシング(71)の開口(74)内では、電流経路の電流密度が上昇することで、液体がジュール熱によって気化して気泡が形成される。つまり、絶縁ケーシング(71)の開口(74)は、該開口(74)に気相部としての気泡を形成する気相形成部として機能する。
  次に、図1に示す例において、超音波発生部(94)は、板状の圧電セラミックス(95)と、間に圧電セラミックス(95)を挟むように設けられた一対の金属板(96a,96b)とで構成される。超音波発生部(94)を封入するケース(97)は密閉され、貯留槽(41)の底部に配置されている。超音波発生部(94)は、電極対(64,65)よりも、貯留槽(41)の給水口に近い位置(言い換えれば、注水口から遠い位置)に配置される。
  金属板(96a,96b)には、増幅器(9)によって増幅された超音波波形発生部(8)の出力信号(交流電圧)が供給される。これにより、超音波発生部(94)は任意の周波数の超音波を貯留槽(41)内の液体に照射する。ただし、過酸化水素を分解して水酸ラジカルを効率良く発生させるためには、超音波の周波数が、100kHz以上程度であれば特に好ましい。さらに好ましくは、超音波の周波数が、100kHz以上で且つ500kHz未満とする。
  なお、超音波発生部(94)は、貯留槽(41)内の液体に超音波を照射できる範囲で任意の位置に設置されていてもよい。例えば、図2(A)に示すように、超音波発生部(94)が貯留槽(41)の底部外側に設置されていてもよく、貯留槽(41)の内部において、電極対(64,65)よりも注水口に近い位置に設置されていてもよい。超音波発生部(94)が貯留槽(41)の底部外側に設置されている場合、超音波は貯留槽(41)の壁面を介して液体に伝達される。
  また、超音波発生部(94)の構成は、図1に示す例に限られない。例えば、図2(B)に示すように、金属ケース(97a)の上部と金属板(96)とで板状の圧電セラミックス(95)を挟み、両者の間に交流電圧を供給する構成であってもよい。
    -運転動作-
  図3は、本実施形態の浄化装置による液体処理の基本サイクルを示す図である。同図に示すように、貯留槽(41)内に溜められた水道水等の液体は、まず、電極対(64,65)間に生起される放電によって浄化される。この際には、放電によって液体中に水酸ラジカル等の活性種が生成し、有機物等の分解や殺菌などが行われる(図3中のステップSt1、St2)。水酸ラジカルは短時間で過酸化水素に変化する(ステップSt3)。
  次に、超音波発生部(94)から液体へと超音波を伝搬させ、液体中の過酸化水素を分解し、水酸ラジカルに変化させる(ステップSt4)。超音波照射により発生した水酸ラジカルは、再度過酸化水素に変化する。ただし、除菌等、液体の浄化反応に使われた水酸ラジカルは水に変化するので、放電を停止して超音波照射のみを行った場合には、過酸化水素の濃度は低下してゆくことになる。
  なお、上記の液体浄化は、1回ごとに貯留槽(41)内の液体を全て入れ替える、いわゆるバッチ処理によって行ってもよい。あるいは、流入路(201)から貯留槽(41)への注水と貯留槽(41)から流出路(202)への液体の流出を連続的に行う連続処理によって浄化を行ってもよい。
  次に、放電と超音波処理を組み合わせた浄化装置の運転制御の具体例について説明する。図4(A)は、液体中の過酸化水素の濃度を用いてフィードバック制御を行う場合の運転制御の一例を示すタイムチャートである。以下の方法では、液体中の過酸化水素はセンサ(7)によって検知される。なお、この制御において、液体の過酸化水素濃度に関し、所定の下限値と該上限値より高い所定の上限値とがあらかじめ設定されている。
  この方法において、まず貯留槽(41)内に液体が溜まった状態で運転を開始する。制御部(1)は、電極対(64,65)間に所定の電圧を印加させ、放電を生起させる。この際、超音波発生部(94)は停止状態にしておく。これにより、液体が浄化されるとともに、液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が上昇する。
  次いで、液体の過酸化水素濃度があらかじめ設定された下限値を超えた場合、第1制御部(1)は電極対(64,65)への電圧の印加を継続させ、第2制御部(5)は、超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にして液体に超音波を照射させる。これにより、放電により生成された水酸ラジカルと、過酸化水素から生成された水酸ラジカルとによって液体が浄化される。放電によって生成される過酸化水素の量は超音波によって分解される過酸化水素の量よりも多いので、この期間中も液中の過酸化水素の濃度は上昇する。
  次に、液体の過酸化水素濃度があらかじめ設定された上限値を超えた場合、第1制御部(1)は電極対(64,65)への電圧印加を停止し、放電を停止させる。第2制御部(5)は、引き続き超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にして液体に超音波を照射させる。これにより、過酸化水素から生成された水酸ラジカルによって液体が浄化される。この期間中、超音波によって過酸化水素が分解されるので、液中の過酸化水素の濃度は減少する。
  次いで、液体の過酸化水素濃度が上述の下限値を下回った時点で、第1制御部(1)は電極対(64,65)への電圧の印加を再開する。これにより、液中の過酸化水素の濃度は再び上昇する。これ以後、同様に超音波照射のみを行う期間と超音波照射と放電とを組み合わせる期間とを繰り返すことで、液体の過酸化水素濃度を下限値以上、且つ上限値以下の範囲に制御しつつ、液体を浄化する。
    -実施形態1の効果-
  以上の方法において、第1制御部(1)は、動作開始後に液体の過酸化水素濃度が上限値に達するまでは放電を生起させて水酸ラジカルを発生させ、液体を浄化することができる。また、第2制御部(5)は、液体の過酸化水素濃度が所定の下限値を超える期間中に超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にする、言い換えれば、過酸化水素濃度が所定の下限値を下回る期間中には超音波発生部(94)を停止状態にする。つまり、液中に十分な過酸化水素が存在する場合に超音波によって水酸ラジカルを発生させているので、液体を効果的に浄化することができる。さらに、十分な濃度の過酸化水素の存在下で超音波を継続的に照射することで、継続的に水酸ラジカルを生成することができるので、強い浄化能力を所定の期間中維持することができる。
  さらに、上述の方法によれば、貯留槽(41)から流出路(202)へと供給される液体中の過酸化水素の濃度を上限値以下に抑えることができるので、過酸化水素を除去するための工程を容易にすることができる。
  本実施形態の浄化装置によれば、上述のように、液中での放電と、液体への超音波照射とを組み合わせることで、液体の過酸化水素濃度を上昇させずに浄化能力の向上を図ることが可能になる。
  なお、液体を連続処理する場合には、図1に示すように、超音波発生部(94)を電極対(64,65)よりも給水口側に配置することにより、放電によって生じた過酸化水素から超音波照射により効果的に水酸ラジカルを発生させることができる。
  また、本実施形態によれば、水道水中で水酸ラジカルを効率的に発生させることができる。
  また、本実施形態によれば、水道水中の塩素によって放電による水酸ラジカルの生成を効率よく行わせることができる。
  また、図1では、電極対(64,65)に与える電圧の印加を制御する第1制御部(1)と、超音波発生部(94)の動作を制御する第2制御部(5)とを別個に設けたが、1つの制御部で電極対(64,65)に与える電圧の印加と超音波発生部(94)の動作とを制御するようにしてもよい。
  なお、本実施形態の浄化装置では、放電及び超音波照射によって生じる水酸ラジカルによって、液体の浄化処理と同時に貯留槽(41)内に繁殖する細菌等を効果的に殺菌することもできる。
    <実施形態1の変形例>
  以下、本実施形態における浄化装置の運転動作の変形例について説明する。
  図4(B)は、過酸化水素の濃度変化の測定値を用いてフィードフォワード制御を行う場合の運転制御の一例を示すタイムチャートである。
  ここで用いられる浄化装置には、必ずしもセンサ(7)が設けられていなくてもよい。ただし、放電のみを行った場合に貯留槽(41)内の液体の過酸化水素濃度が0から下限値に達するまでに要する時間T1、放電と超音波照射とを同時に行った場合に液体の過酸化水素濃度が下限値から上限値になるまでに要する時間T2、超音波照射のみを行った場合に上限値から下限値に達するのに要する時間T3を、それぞれあらかじめ測定しておき、それらの測定データを第1制御部(1)及び第2制御部(5)の内部又は外部に設けられたメモリ(図示せず)に記憶させておく。第1制御部(1)及び第2制御部(5)は測定データに基づいて以下の制御を行う。第1制御部(1)及び第2制御部(5)の内部又は外部には、時間をカウントするタイマを設けておく。
  本変形例に係る方法において、まず第1制御部(1)は、電極対(64,65)間に所定の電圧を印加させ、放電を生起させる。この際、超音波発生部(94)は停止状態にしておく。これにより、液体が浄化されるとともに、液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が上昇する。
  次いで、運転開始から時間T1が経過した時点で、第1制御部(1)は電極対(64,65)への電圧の印加を継続させ、第2制御部(5)は、超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にして液体に超音波を照射させる。これにより、放電により生成された水酸ラジカルと、過酸化水素から生成された水酸ラジカルとによって液体が浄化される。この期間中も液中の過酸化水素の濃度は上昇する。
  次に、時間T2が経過した時点で、第1制御部(1)は電極対(64,65)への電圧の印加を停止し、放電を停止させる。第2制御部(5)は、引き続き超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にして液体に超音波を照射させる。これにより、過酸化水素から生成された水酸ラジカルによって液体が浄化される。この期間中、液中の過酸化水素の濃度は減少する。
  次いで、さらに時間T3が経過した時点で、第1制御部(1)は電極対(64,65)への電圧の印加を再開し、この状態を時間T2の間継続する。これにより、液中の過酸化水素の濃度は再び上昇する。これ以後、同様に超音波照射のみを行う期間(時間T3)と超音波照射と放電とを組み合わせる期間(時間T2)とを繰り返すことで、液体の過酸化水素濃度を下限値以上且つ上限値以下の範囲に制御しつつ、液体を浄化する。
  以上の方法によっても液体中の過酸化水素の濃度を下限値以上、且つ上限値以下の範囲に制御しつつ、液体を浄化することができる。なお、これは運転動作の一変形例であって、他の方法によっても液体の浄化を行うことができる。
  《発明の実施形態2》
  図5は、本発明の実施形態2における浄化装置を示す構成図である。同図では、実施形態1に係る浄化装置と同様の構成については図1と同じ符号を付している。また、放電波形発生部(3)、第1制御部(1)、第2制御部(5)、増幅器(9)及びセンサ(7)は図5では図示を省略しているが、実際には本実施形態の浄化装置に設けられている。以下では、主に実施形態1に係る浄化装置と異なる点について説明する。
  本実施形態の浄化装置は、貯留槽(41)と、貯留槽(41)内に配置された電極対(64a,65a)と、電極対(64a,65a)に接続された高電圧発生部(電源部)(70a)と、貯留槽(41)の底部に設置された超音波発生部(94)とを備えている。
  電極(64a)は絶縁ケーシング(71a)の内部に収納され、電極(65a)は絶縁ケーシング(71b)の内部に収納されている。電極(64a)及び電極(65a)は、それぞれ扁平な板状に形成されている。また、電極(64a)及び電極(65a)は耐腐食性の高い導電性の金属材料で構成されている。高電圧発生部(70a)は、数キロボルト程度の電圧を電極対(64a,65a)に供給する。
  絶縁ケーシング(71a,71b)は、例えばセラミックス等の絶縁材料で構成されており、図1に示す絶縁ケーシング(71)と同様の構成を有している。
  すなわち、絶縁ケーシング(71a)は、一面(図5では右側の面)が開放された容器状のケース本体(180a)と、該ケース本体(180a)の上記開放部を閉塞する板状の蓋部(73a)とを有している。また、絶縁ケーシング(71b)は、一面(図5では左側の面)が開放された容器状のケース本体(180b)と、該ケース本体(180b)の上記開放部を閉塞する板状の蓋部(73b)とを有している。
  絶縁ケーシング(71a)の蓋部(73a)には、該蓋部(73a)を厚さ方向に貫通する1つの開口(74a)が形成されている。絶縁ケーシング(71b)の蓋部(73b)にも、該蓋部(73b)を厚さ方向に貫通する1つの開口(74b)が形成されている。これらの開口(74a,74b)により、電極(64a)と電極(65a)との間の電界の形成が許容されている。開口(74a,74b)の内径は、0.02mm以上0.5mm以下であることが好ましい。以上のような開口(74a,74b)は、電極対(64a,65a)の間の電流経路の電流密度を上昇させる電流密度集中部を構成する。
  絶縁ケーシング(71a,71b)は、貯留槽(41)内の互いに対向する側面に、蓋部(73a,73b)同士が対向するように設置されている。言い換えれば、電極(64a)と電極(65a)とは互いに対向するよう配置されている。
  絶縁ケーシング(71a,71b)の開口(74a,74b)内では、電流経路の電流密度が上昇することで、液体がジュール熱によって気化して気泡が形成される。つまり、絶縁ケーシング(71a,71b)の開口(74a,74b)は、該開口(74a,74b)に気相部としての気泡を形成する気相形成部として機能する。この構成により、電圧が電極対(64a,65a)に供給された場合に電極対(64a,65a)間の気泡内に放電を生起させることができる。
  なお、超音波発生部(94)の具体的な構成は、実施形態1に係る浄化装置と同様である。
  本実施形態の浄化装置を、図4(A)、(B)に示す方法で運転することにより、液中の過酸化水素の濃度を所定の範囲内に保持しつつ、貯留槽(41)内の液体を効果的に浄化することができる。
    《発明の実施形態3》
  図6は、本発明の実施形態3における浄化装置を示す構成図である。同図では、実施形態1に係る浄化装置と同様の構成については図1と同じ符号を付している。また、放電波形発生部(3)、第1制御部(1)、第2制御部(5)、増幅器(9)及びセンサ(7)は図6では図示を省略しているが、実際には本実施形態の浄化装置に設けられている。以下では、主に実施形態1に係る浄化装置と異なる点について説明する。
  本実施形態の浄化装置は、貯留槽(41)と、貯留槽(41)内に配置された電極対(64,65)と、電極対(64,65)に接続された高電圧発生部(電源部)(70b)と、貯留槽(41)の底部に設置された超音波発生部(94)とを備えている。なお、高電圧発生部(70b)は、電源部を構成している。
  本実施形態の浄化装置においては、電極A(64)及び電極B(65)がそれぞれ高電圧発生部(70b)の正極側及び負極側にそれぞれ接続され、高電圧発生部(70b)から電極対(64,65)に高電圧のパルス電圧が供給される。
  また、電極A(64)を囲む絶縁ケーシング(71)は設けられない。電極A(64)及び電極B(65)は共に板状であり、貯留槽(41)内の側面に、互いに対向するように設置される。
  さらに、浄化装置には、例えば貯留槽(41)の底部など、少なくとも電極対(64,65)の間であって、電極対(64,65)よりも低い位置で且つ電極B(65)の近傍に設けられたノズル(119)と、ノズル(119)に空気等の気体を送るエアポンプ(99)とが設けられている。エアポンプ(99)によって貯留槽(41)内の気体は、ノズル(119)を介して循環される。ただし、エアポンプ(99)によって貯留槽(41)内に外部から気体を供給してもよい。なお、ノズル(119)は、吐出部を構成し、エアポンプ(99)は、送出部を構成している。また、ノズル(119)は、電極A(64)の近傍に設けられていてもよい。
  超音波発生部(94)の構成は実施形態1に係る浄化装置と同様であり、貯留槽(41)の底部に設置されていてもよいが、貯留槽(41)内の液体に超音波を照射できる限りにおいて任意の位置に設置可能である。
  少なくとも放電処理を行う期間中、ノズル(119)から液体中へと泡が吐出される。液中に泡が存在する状態で電極対(64,65)にパルス電圧を供給することにより、泡の内部で放電が生起され、水酸ラジカルが生成する。
  本実施形態の浄化装置では、実施形態1に係る浄化装置と基本的に同じ方法、すなわち図4(A)及び(B)に示す方法で、放電と超音波照射とを組み合わせた液体浄化が行われる。ただし、図4(A)及び(B)に示す放電処理の期間中は、高電圧発生部(70b)から電極対(64,65)へとパルス電圧が間欠的に供給され、電極対(64,65)間に間欠的に放電が生起される。
  以上の構成及び方法によれば、電極対(64,65)間にパルス放電を発生させる場合でも効率良く水酸ラジカルを発生させることができるので、超音波照射と組み合わせることで、過酸化水素濃度を上昇させずに、高い浄化能力を発揮することができる。
    《発明の実施形態4》
  図7は、本発明の実施形態4における浄化装置を示す構成図である。同図では、実施形態1、実施形態2に係る浄化装置と同様の構成については図1及び図5と同じ符号を付している。また、放電波形発生部(3)、第1制御部(1)、第2制御部(5)、増幅器(9)及びセンサ(7)は図7では図示を省略しているが、実際には、本実施形態の浄化装置に設けられている。以下では、主に実施形態2に係る浄化装置と異なる点について説明する。
  本実施形態の浄化装置は、貯留槽(41)と、貯留槽(41)内に配置された電極対(64b,65b)と、電極対(64b,65b)に接続された高電圧発生部(電源部)(70c)と、貯留槽(41)の底部に設置された超音波発生部(94)とを備えている。
  電極(64b)と電極(65b)とは、それぞれ貯留槽(41)内の側面に、互いに対向するように設置されている。
  電極(64b)は、少なくとも1つの導電部(164)と、導電部(164)を囲む絶縁部(165)とを有している。
  電極(65b)は、少なくとも1つの導電部(166)と、導電部(166)を囲む絶縁部(167)とを有している。
  以上のように、電極(64b)における導電部(164)の露出面、及び電極(65b)における導電部(166)の露出面の面積は小さいので、電圧を電極対(64b,65b)に供給した場合には導電部(164,166)の表面で電流密度の集中部が形成される。そのため、導電部(164,166)の表面では液体がジュール熱によって気化して気泡が形成される。この泡によって導電部(164,166)の露出面が覆われた状態で高電圧発生部(70c)からの電圧供給を継続することにより、泡の内部で放電が生起される。
  なお、超音波発生部(94)の具体的な構成は実施形態1及び実施形態2に係る浄化装置と同様である。
  本実施形態の浄化装置を、図4(A)及び(B)に示す方法で運転することにより、液中の過酸化水素の濃度を所定の範囲内に保持しつつ、貯留槽(41)内の液体を効果的に浄化することができる。
  以上の構成によっても、電極対(64b,65b)間での放電と、超音波照射と組み合わせることで、過酸化水素濃度を上昇させずに、高い浄化能力を発揮することができる。
    《発明の実施形態5》
  本実施形態は、図8に示すように、前記実施形態1が1つの貯留槽(41)に放電ユニット(62)と超音波発生部(94)とを設けたのに代わり、第1の貯留槽(41)と第2の貯留槽(42)と設けたものである。
  つまり、前記第1の貯留槽(41)には、放電ユニット(62)が設けられ、第2の貯留槽(42)には、超音波発生部(94)が設けられている。そして、前記放電ユニット(62)および超音波発生部(94)は、実施形態1と同様に構成されている。
  また、前記第1の貯留槽(41)と第2の貯留槽(42)とは、連絡通路(203)によって連結されている。そして、第1の貯留槽(41)に流入路(201)が接続され、第2の貯留槽(42)に流出路(202)が接続されている。前記流入路(201)と流出路(202)とは、連結され、第2の貯留槽(42)から流出した液体が第1の貯留槽(41)に戻り、第1の貯留槽(41)と第2の貯留槽(42)との間で液体が循環する。
  したがって、第1の貯留槽(41)内に溜められた水道水等の液体は、放電ユニット(62)の放電によって浄化される。第2の貯留槽(42)内においては、超音波発生部(94)の超音波によって液体中の過酸化水素を分解し、水酸ラジカルに変化する。その他の構成、作用および効果は、実施形態1と同様である。
  以上で説明した各実施形態において、各部材の形状、配置、材質等、あるいは浄化装置の運転方法は本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲において適宜変更可能である。
  以上説明したように、本発明は、放電と超音波照射とを組み合わせて種々の液体を浄化する装置として有用である。

Claims (10)

  1.   液体を貯留する貯留槽(41)と、
      電源(70,70a,70b,70c)と、
      該電源(70,70a,70b,70c)に接続され、前記貯留槽(41)の液体中で放電を生起し、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体中に水酸ラジカルを生成させる電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)と、
      前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に超音波を照射することで、生成した水酸ラジカルが変化して生成する前記液体中の過酸化水素を水酸ラジカルに変換させる超音波発生部(94)とを備えている
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  2.   請求項1において、
      前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を制御する第1制御部(1)と、
      前記超音波発生部(94)の動作を制御する第2制御部(5)とをさらに備え、
      前記第1制御部(1)及び前記第2制御部(5)は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の上限値を超えないように、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加と前記超音波発生部(94)の動作とをそれぞれ制御する
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  3.   請求項2において、
      前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度を検知するセンサ(7)をさらに備え、
      前記第1制御部(1)は、前記センサ(7)の検知信号に基づいて前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を制御し、
      前記第2制御部(5)は、前記センサ(7)の検知信号に基づいて前記超音波発生部(94)の動作を制御する
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  4.   請求項3において、
      少なくとも前記液体中の過酸化水素の濃度が前記上限値を越えた場合には、前記第1制御部(1)が、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を停止して前記放電を停止させるとともに、前記第2制御部(5)が、前記超音波発生部(94)を駆動させる
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  5.   請求項2乃至4の何れか1つにおいて、
      前記第2制御部(5)は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の下限値を超える期間中、前記超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にする
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  6.   請求項1において、
      前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加と、前記超音波発生部(94)の動作との制御を行う制御部をさらに備え、
      前記制御部は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の上限値を超えないように、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加と前記超音波発生部(94)の動作とを制御する
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  7.   請求項6において、
      前記制御部は、前記貯留槽(41)内の前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の上限値を超えた場合には、前記電極対(64,64a,64b,65,65a,65b)に与える電圧の印加を停止して前記放電を停止させ、前記液体に含まれる過酸化水素の濃度が所定の下限値を超える期間中、前記超音波発生部(94)を駆動状態にする
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  8.   請求項1乃至7の何れか1つにおいて、
      前記貯留槽(41)内の液体中に泡を吐出する吐出部(119)と、
      前記吐出手段(119)に気体を送る送出部(99)とをさらに備え、
      前記電極対(64,65)は、板状であって、互いに対向するよう配置され、
      前記電源(70b)は、前記電極対(64,65)にパルス電圧を印加し、
      前記吐出部(119)は、前記電極対(64,65)の間であって、前記貯留槽(41)の底部に配置されている
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  9.   請求項1乃至8の何れか1つにおいて、
      前記液体は、水道水である
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
  10.   請求項9において、
      前記水道水は、塩素が溶存している
    ことを特徴とする浄化装置。
