Abstract

Speicherkraftwerke, insbesondere für elektrische Energie, benötigen heutzutage entweder einen sehr großes Volumen bei geringem Wirkungsgrad, wie z. B. bei gasbasierten Druck- und hydraulischen Speichern, oder teure Technologien wie z. B. bei Batteriespeichern. Bei Stromspeichertechnologien sind unter anderem die Wirkungsgrade und Speicherkapazitäten sehr unterschiedlich. So gelten Pumpspeicherkraftwerke mit Wirkungsgraden über 80 % als sehr effizient und haben Speicherkapazitäten bis zu ca. 10 GWh,sind aber gegenüber Speichern mit brennbaren Gasen, die geringe Wirkungsgrade um 40 % aufweisen, in der Speicherkapazität eher beschränkt. Sie eignen sich daher nur für den stundenweisen Ausgleich von Angebots- und Nachfrageschwankungen. Für einen hohen Anteil regenerativer Energieträger in der Stromversorgung sind jedoch auch Speicher mit Kapazitäten, die im Bereich von Tagen bis Wochen Erzeugungsengpässe ausgleichen können notwendig. Die Erfindung kombiniert in vorteilhafter Weise einen effizienten Speicher nach dem Pumpspeicherprinzip für den stundenweisen Ausgleich von Energieengpässen mit einem Langzeitspeicher. Dies ohne ein für den Langzeitspeicher bei getrennter Aufstellung notwendiges zusätzliche Speichervolumen. Durch die Kombination an einem Aufstellungsort wird in idealer Weise ein effizientes aber auch für längere Erzeugungsengpässe gewappnetes Kraftwerk realisiert.
