Definitions
- the present invention relates to a pneumatic tire in which circumferential grooves and lug grooves are formed on a tread surface, and particularly to a pneumatic tire mounted on a vehicle traveling on a snowy road and a wet road.
- the tread pattern is finely carved into the land portion of the tire tread, and further, by forming a plurality of sipes, acceleration performance, braking performance on snowy roads, and steering stability performance are achieved.
- Attempts have been made to improve (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
- attempts have been made to improve steering stability on snowy roads by using rubber (soft rubber) having a low elastic modulus for the tread rubber.
- the block rigidity is lowered, so not only the wet braking performance on the paved road is lowered, but also the deformation of the block is increased, so the wear resistance performance is increased. There was a problem that it decreased. Also, when the rubber elastic modulus is reduced, the block rigidity is lowered, so that there is a problem that wet braking performance and wear resistance performance on the paved road are lowered.
- the present invention has been made in view of conventional problems, and improves acceleration performance, braking performance, and steering stability performance on snowy roads while ensuring wet braking performance and wear resistance performance on a paved road.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a pneumatic tire that can handle the above.

- the groove area means a groove area on a plane when the tread pattern of the tire is developed on a plane.
- the ratio of the groove area to the total area of the tread pattern is defined as a negative rate (groove area / total pattern area)
- the above-described relationship between the groove areas is lag groove negative rate ⁇ circumferential groove negative rate.
- the position of the opening on the tire width direction center part side of the rightward rising lug groove and the position of the opening part on the tire width direction center side side of the leftward rising lug groove are in the tire circumferential direction.

- the on-snow ⁇ which is a coefficient of friction between the tire 10 and the road surface when running on a snowy road surface, is mainly a compression resistance F A as a running resistance acting on the front surface of the tire 10.
- the surface frictional force F B acting on the surface of the block 16 the snow column shearing force F C acting on the groove (here, the lug groove 15), and the scratching force F D (edge effect) due to the sipe edge and the block edge.
- the wet braking performance and the wear resistance performance are ensured, and the acceleration on the snow road and the braking performance and the steering stability performance are enhanced by increasing ⁇ on the snow. To improve.
- the central circumferential groove 12 is provided at the center of the center portion, and the inner longitudinal groove 13 is provided at the center portion and on the outer side in the tire width direction of the central circumferential groove 12 to thereby block the center block 16a and the intermediate block 16b.
- the edge effect by the edge is enhanced to increase the lateral grip force on the snow
- the central circumferential groove 12 is a groove that communicates with the tire circumferential direction to enhance drainage performance in the tire circumferential direction and ensure wet braking performance. Is possible.
- the groove width of the lug groove 15 is formed so as to gradually increase from the center portion to the shoulder portion.
- the block length of the center block 16a can be lengthened and the block rigidity of the center part can be ensured, the collapse of the block in the center part can be suppressed. Therefore, the wet braking performance on the paved road can be increased, and the wear resistance performance can be ensured.
- the shoulder portion by increasing the groove width of the lug groove 15, it is possible to increase the snow column shear force by the lug groove 15 which is insufficient in the center portion and to secure the front and rear grip rigidity on the snow. Acceleration performance can be improved.
- the groove width of the lug groove 15 gradually increases from the center portion toward the shoulder portion, the drainage effect on the shoulder side can be enhanced, and wet braking performance can be ensured.
- the lug groove width ratio which is the ratio of the groove width at the shoulder portion of the lug groove 15 to the groove width at the center portion, is preferably set to 105% to 500%.
- the lug groove width ratio is less than 105%, the groove width difference is small, so that the effect of changing the groove width cannot be obtained. Further, if the lug groove width ratio exceeds 500%, the lug groove width of the shoulder portion becomes too large, and the block rigidity of the shoulder portion is significantly reduced. As a result, the wet braking performance on the paved road is lowered.
- the inner vertical groove 13 and the outer vertical groove 14 are preferably narrow grooves whose groove width is narrower than that of the central circumferential groove 12.
- the narrow groove refers to a groove width in which the groove walls do not contact each other within the ground plane.
- the groove width of the narrow groove is preferably 20% to 60% of the groove depth. If the width is smaller than 20%, the groove walls come into contact with each other at the time of lateral input, and the horizontal block edge deformation on the snow is suppressed, and the edge effect due to the vertical groove cannot be secured. As a result, a sufficient frictional force cannot be secured on the snow and on the wet road surface.
- the groove width of the narrow groove is preferably 1.5 mm to 5.5 mm, and more preferably 3.0 mm to 4.5 mm. Further, it is important to make the sum of the area of the central circumferential groove 12 that is a vertical groove and the area of the inner vertical groove 13 smaller than the total area of the lug grooves 15 that are horizontal grooves. Thereby, the ratio of the lug groove 15 can be increased as compared with a tire having a conventional tread pattern at the same negative rate (groove area ratio). That is, since the area of the lug groove can be increased without increasing the negative rate (groove area ratio), the longitudinal force on the snow can be effectively ensured. Further, if the inner longitudinal groove 13 is arranged at the center portion, the longitudinal groove can be concentrated on the center of the grounding surface, so that the effect of the longitudinal groove can be obtained even at a low load with a small grounding shape.
- the rear load is smaller than the front load. It is also known that improving the lateral lateral force leads to an increase in stability factor and improving the F / R balance of the vehicle.
- the vertical groove can be concentrated in the center of the ground plane. Stability factor on snow can be increased. Therefore, not only the lateral grip on snow but also the F / R balance on snow can be improved, so that the on-snow steering stability performance can be improved comprehensively.
- the outer longitudinal groove 14, which is a longitudinal groove disposed in the shoulder portion, is preferably located within the ground contact width under both front and rear conditions when the vehicle is mounted, and is defined by JATMA for the tire size of the tire.
- Tire measurement conditions (with the tire attached to the applicable rim, in the case of passenger car tires, the internal pressure is 180 kPa, left at room temperature (15-30 ° C.) for 24 hours, then adjusted to the original internal pressure and measured again. In the case of shape measurement, it is within 30% to 80% of the maximum contact width under the static load radius measurement condition, that is, measured with a mass corresponding to 88% of the maximum load capacity of the tire. It is more preferable if it is located.
- the outer vertical groove 14 is disposed at a position exceeding 80% of the maximum ground contact width, the above-mentioned effect on improving the lateral snow grip cannot be obtained. Moreover, if it is arranged inside 30% of the maximum ground contact width, the block width of the intermediate block 16b becomes too small and the block rigidity is lowered. As a result, wet braking performance and wear resistance performance on the paved road deteriorate. End up. Accordingly, as in this example, if the center circumferential groove 12 and the inner longitudinal groove 13 are provided in the center portion and the outer longitudinal groove 14 is provided in the shoulder portion, both the front tire and the rear tire having different ground contact widths can be used. The above-described improvement in snow handling performance can be effectively realized.
- the groove depth of the inner vertical groove 13 is deeper than the groove depth of the outer vertical groove 14, and it is more preferable if lug groove 15> inner vertical groove 13> outer vertical groove 14.
- the lug groove 15 having the deepest groove depth can secure the acceleration performance on snow, and the lateral force in the rear load can be secured to the maximum by the central circumferential groove 12 and the inner longitudinal groove 13, so that the grounding shape is With a small rear load, the lateral edge effect in the center portion can be further increased. Therefore, since the stability factor on snow can be increased, not only the lateral grip on snow but also the F / R balance on snow can be improved.
- the groove depth of the inner vertical groove 13 is made deeper than the groove depth of the outer vertical groove 14, the lateral edge effect in the center portion can be further increased, so that the on-snow steering stability performance is further improved. Can be improved.
- the groove depth is preferably 60 to 100% for the inner longitudinal groove 13 and 30 to 90% for the outer longitudinal groove 14 when the lug groove 15 is 100%. If the vertical grooves 13 and 14 are shallower than 30%, the block edge is not deformed in the lateral direction on the snow, the edge effect by the vertical grooves 13 and 14 cannot be secured, and the snow handling stability performance deteriorates.
- the groove widths of the inner vertical groove 13 and the outer vertical groove 14 which are narrow grooves are preferably 30% to 80% of the groove depth of the lug groove 15.
- the cross-sectional area of the lug groove 15 (maximum depth ⁇ lug groove (center block)) is formed on the groove bottom on the center side (center circumferential groove 12 side) of the center block 16a among the groove bottoms of the lug grooves 15.
- the groove bottom raising part 18 which is 10% to 90% of the width) is provided.
- the cross-sectional area of the groove bottom raised portion 18 is smaller than 10% of the cross-sectional area of the lug groove 15, the effect of increasing the rigidity cannot be sufficiently obtained.
- the lug groove in the tire center portion does not function as a groove and a sufficient snow column shearing force cannot be obtained, and as a result, the longitudinal force on the snow is greatly reduced.
- the groove depth d 12 of the central circumferential groove 12 as well as deeper than the minimum depth d m of the groove bottom raising portion 18, a maximum of the lug groove 15 It is preferable that the depth is d M or less.
- the central circumferential groove 12 becomes a single communicating groove, so that drainage performance can be improved.
- the groove depth of the central circumferential groove 12 is set deeper than the minimum depth of the groove bottom raising part 18. And since it was shallower than the maximum groove depth of the lug groove 15, the rigidity of the center block 16a can be improved and a wet grip can be improved. Further, since the central circumferential groove 12 can be a single communicating groove, drainage performance can be enhanced.
- the groove wall angle on the kick side of the center block 16a of the lug groove 15 is set to the groove wall angle on the kick side of the intermediate block 16b and the shoulder block 16c.
- the groove wall angle on the kick side is made smaller than the average.
- the groove wall angle is also given to the stepping side, the volume of the lug groove 15 cannot be secured sufficiently, and the force on the snow is greatly reduced.
- the average value of the groove wall angle of the intermediate block 16b and the groove wall angle of the shoulder block 16c is preferably 5 ° to 25 °.
- the groove wall angle is smaller than 5 °, the effect of reinforcing the block rigidity is hardly obtained.
- the groove wall angle is larger than 25 °, the volume of the lug groove 15 cannot be sufficiently secured, and the longitudinal force on the snow is large. descend.
- the size of the groove wall angle of the lug groove 15 that defines the center block 16a is defined as the groove wall angle of the lug groove 15 that defines the intermediate block 16b and the groove wall angle of the lug groove 15 that defines the shoulder block 16c. Since the block rigidity in the tire circumferential direction can be further increased, the wet grip and the wear resistance can be further improved.
- the chamfered portion 19 (circled in FIG. 1) is formed by rounding the corner portion on the kick side on the outer side in the tire width direction of the center block 16a and the intermediate block 16b. Are provided).
- the range of R is preferably 0.5 mm ⁇ R ⁇ 5 mm.
- the chamfered portion 19 may also be provided at the corner portion of the kick side on the inner side in the tire width direction.
- the corners of the block serve as merging portions of water flowing through the lug grooves 15 and the inner longitudinal grooves 13 and between the lug grooves 15 and the outer longitudinal grooves 14.
- the peripheral edge length of the central peripheral groove 12 is greater than the peripheral edge length of the outer vertical groove 14.
- the circumferential edge length of the central circumferential groove 12 is preferably longer than the circumferential edge length of the inner longitudinal groove 13, and the circumferential edge length of the inner longitudinal groove 13 is greater than the circumferential edge length of the outer longitudinal groove 14. Longer is more preferable. In this way, by setting the peripheral edge length of the vertical groove on the grounding center side longer than the peripheral edge length of the vertical groove on the grounding end side, the lateral edge effect of the vertical groove is reduced at a rear load with a small grounding shape. It can be further increased.
- the average ground contact length c of the shoulder block 16c inside the ground contact surface surrounded by the thick line in the same figure is smaller than the average ground contact length b of the intermediate block 16b. More preferably, the average ground contact length c of the shoulder block 16c is made smaller than the average ground contact length b of the intermediate block 16b, and the average ground contact length of the intermediate block 16b is made smaller than the average ground contact length a of the center block 16a.
- the average ground contact lengths of the center block 16a and the average ground contact length b of the middle block 16b are 85% to 95% of the average ground contact length a and the average ground contact length c of the shoulder block 16c, respectively.
- the ground contact shape in which the average contact lengths a, b, c of the blocks 16a to 16c are the same water easily enters and the drainage performance deteriorates.
- the ground contact shape with a>b> c provides a high drainage effect because water is easily discharged outward in the tire width direction. Therefore, by combining the pattern setting of the present invention and the ground contact shape contour, it is possible to obtain higher wet braking performance.
- the sipe angle of the center sipe 17a formed in the center block 16a (the angle formed by the sipe extension direction and the tire circumferential direction) is the center sipe angle
- the sipe angle of the intermediate sipe 17b formed in the intermediate block 16b is intermediate.
- the sipe angle is the shoulder sipe angle of the shoulder sipe 17c formed on the shoulder block 16c
- the center sipe angle is smaller than the shoulder sipe angle as shown in FIG.
- Each sipe angle is set so that becomes smaller than the center sipe angle.
- the shoulder sipes 17c face the direction closest to the tire width direction, so that the load on the front tire increases during braking of the tire and the contact area of the shoulder block 16c increases. As a result, the sipe edge effect is increased and the braking performance on snow is improved.
- the center block 16a located closest to the ground contact center when the tire starts the center sipe 17a faces the width direction next to the shoulder block 16c. As a result, the sipe edge effect is increased and the acceleration performance on snow is improved.
- the intermediate sipe 17b faces the direction closest to the tire circumferential direction, so that the sipe edge effect at the time of turning of the tire is increased, and the on-snow maneuvering stability performance is improved.
- the center sipe angle and the intermediate sipe angle are reduced to increase the lateral edge component, and the shoulder sipe angle is increased to ensure the longitudinal edge component, the acceleration performance on snow is improved.
- the steering stability performance on snow it is possible to improve the steering stability performance on snow.
- the intermediate sipe angle is preferably 45 ° to 80 °, and the shoulder sipe angle is preferably 90 ° (parallel to the tire width direction). Thereby, on-snow acceleration performance and on-snow handling stability can be further improved.
- the height of both reinforcements (the height at the bottom) is set to be different.
- the one with the higher bottom elevation is set to 50% or more of the maximum sipe depth
- the one with the lower bottom elevation is set to 50% or less.
- the setting of the bottom raising height in the place where the bottom raising reinforcement between the adjacent sipes (the bottom raising portion 17k) is performed does not overlap at least three sheets in the circumferential direction, and the above setting is performed. 50% or more of the total number of sipes in one block.
- the bottom is higher, it is preferably 50 to 100% of the maximum sipe depth, more preferably 60 to 90%.
- the lower bottom rise is preferably 0 to 50% of the maximum sipe depth, and more preferably 0 to 30%.
- the bottom height setting of adjacent sipes is set not to overlap at least 3 sheets in the circumferential direction. If the same setting overlaps, a part with extremely high / low rigidity is created locally at the block end. As a result, the balance between the block reinforcing effect and the effect of increasing the edge is biased, and the effect of raising the bottom cannot be obtained. It is more preferable that two or more sheets do not overlap.
- the sipe end setting is set to 50% or more of the number of sipes in one block, for example, in a narrow block width portion such as a block corner or in the center of the block, usually in order to ensure block rigidity. This is because a shallow 2D sipe may be set. A sufficient effect can be obtained if the bottom-up reinforcement is made 50% or more of the number of sipes in one block, but more preferably 70% or more.
- the sipes 17a to 17c may be 2D sipes, or 3D sipes as shown in FIGS. 5 (a) and 5 (b). Also, the shape may be a straight sipe, or a wavy or broken line sipe.
- the block in which the 3D sipe is arranged has an effect of increasing the block rigidity in both the tire circumferential direction and the width direction as compared with the block having the 2D sipe on the sipe wall surface. That is, by arranging 3D sipes with irregularities in the depth direction on the block, high block rigidity can be obtained, and by suppressing unnecessary block deformation, particularly wet grip and wear resistance performance can be improved. it can.
- the 3D sipe is particularly effective to arrange the 3D sipe on the shoulder block 16c where the amount of block deformation increases. Moreover, it is preferable to arrange
- the effect of arranging the 3D sipes in the intermediate block 16b / center block 16a is not as good as the effect of arranging in the shoulder block 16c, but the effect of increasing the block rigidity as a whole is obtained. Note that if there are one or more sets of 3D sipes in a block, the block is defined as a block in which 3D sipes are arranged. [Example]

- the angles of the sipes 57 provided in the land portion 56 are all 15 °.
- the conventional lug groove width is 10 mm and the negative rate is 32%.
- all of the pattern shapes of Examples 1 to 55 have one central circumferential groove communicating with the center portion in the circumferential direction, and the shoulder portion lug groove width is larger than the center portion lug groove width.
- the relationship between the lug groove negative rate and the circumferential groove negative rate is such that lug groove negative ⁇ circumferential groove negative.
- the pattern shapes of Examples 1 to 55 will be described later.
- the number of sipes arranged in the center block and the intermediate block is eight.
- the first and eighth blocks in the circumferential direction of the block cannot secure the block rigidity, so that the sipe depth is 1 mm. It is reinforced with. Therefore, the sipe settings are changed in the middle six sheets. Since there are no reinforced shallow sipes in the shoulder block, all six are changed.
- the above tire was assembled on a 6J-15 rim at an internal pressure of 200 kPa, and mounted on a passenger car to perform acceleration performance test / steering stability performance test on snow, wet braking performance test on road surface, and wear resistance performance test. It was.
- the on-snow acceleration performance test is evaluated based on the time (acceleration time) from a stationary state until the accelerator is fully opened and traveling 50 meters.
- evaluation is conducted by measuring the lap time when driving on the course for snow maneuvering stability evaluation by an evaluation driver.
- wet braking performance test water with a depth of 2 mm is sprayed on the paved road surface, and the evaluation is performed on the braking distance from 60 km / h to complete rest.
- the track is run for 5000 km on the paved road, the tread rubber wear amount at each part from the center part of the tire to the shoulder part is measured, and the average value of the wear amount at each part is evaluated. (The smaller the amount of wear, the better).

Abstract
