 磁気記録媒体処理装置の磁気データの読み取りに及ぼす影響を低減することが可能で、かつ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することが可能な磁気記録媒体処理装置および磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法を提供する。駆動電圧VCCを供給する駆動電源部521と、基準電位部522と、第1のノードND52と第2のノードND53との間にインダクタL51およびキャパシタC51が接続された共振回路を含み、第1のノードに駆動電圧を受け、第2のノードが基準電位部522に接続された状態で共振して磁界を発生する共振部511と、振部の第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との間に接続され、制御信号CTLに応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、共振部の第2のノードと基準電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える駆動スイッチング素子DSW51を含む共振駆動部523とを有する。

Description

磁気記録媒体処理装置および磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法
 本発明は、磁気記録媒体に記録された磁気データの読み取りや磁気記録媒体への磁気データの書き込みを行う磁気記録媒体処理装置および磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法に関する。
 従来、磁気記録媒体としてカード状をした磁気記録媒体(以下、「カード」という。)に記録された磁気データの読み取りやカードへの磁気データの書き込みを行う磁気記録媒体処理装置としてのカードリーダが広く利用されている。この種のカードリーダは、たとえば、銀行等の金融機関に設置されるATM(Automate Teller Machine)等の上位装置に搭載されて使用されている。また、カードリーダが使用される金融機関等の業界では、従来、犯罪者がカードリーダのカード挿入口の前方に磁気ヘッドを取り付けて、この磁気ヘッドでカードの磁気データを不正に取得するいわゆるスキミングが大きな問題となっている。
 そこで、従来、カード挿入口の前方に取り付けられるスキミング用の磁気ヘッド(以下、「スキミング用磁気ヘッド」とする。)によるカードの磁気データの読み取りを妨害するための妨害磁界を発生させる磁界発生装置を備えたカードリーダが提案されている(たとえば、特許文献1参照)。特許文献1に記載のカードリーダでは、カードリーダのカード挿入口に磁界(磁気)発生装置を備え、磁界(磁気)発生装置から放出される妨害磁界(磁気)により、スキミング用磁気ヘッドがカード利用者の磁気データを読み取ることを妨害する技術が開示されている。
 この技術において、妨害磁界を発生する回路は、コイル(インダクタ)の電源を、スイッチ機能を有するトランジスタにて駆動させる構成が採用される。
 特許文献1に示すカードリーダにおいて、上記した磁界(磁気)発生装置は、次のように適用される。不正行為者が、カードの磁気データを読み取るために、カードリーダのカード挿入口に、磁気ヘッドであるスキミング用磁気ヘッドと磁気読み取り回路を取り付ける。このスキミング用磁気ヘッドに対し、磁気データが読み取れないようにするため、スキミング用磁気ヘッドに向けて妨害磁界を発生させている。

 しかしながら、特許文献1で使用されている磁界発生装置では、コイル(インダクタ)の電源を、スイッチ機能を有するトランジスタにて駆動させる回路であるので、単発的な磁界発生となり、妨害している時間が短いとか、または、その磁界が弱かったりして、スキミング用磁気ヘッドに対して確実に防止することが難しかった。また、磁界発生装置の磁界を強くした場合には、磁界発生の駆動を停止しても、その磁界が残留してカードリーダ本来の磁気データの読み取りに影響を及ぼすおそれがある。
 そこで、本発明の課題は、磁気記録媒体処理装置の磁気データの読み取りに及ぼす影響を低減することが可能で、かつ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することが可能な磁気記録媒体処理装置および磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法を提供することにある。
 本発明の第1の観点の磁気記録媒体処理装置は、挿入口から挿入または排出するカード状磁気記録媒体を検知する検出機構部と、カード状の前記磁気記録媒体上に形成された磁気ストライプに摺動して磁気データを読み取るプリヘッドと、前記検出機構部の検出結果に応じて開閉されるシャッターと、カード状磁気記録媒体上に記録されている磁気情報を処理するカード処理部と、共振部により磁界を発生する磁界発生部および当該磁界発生部を駆動制御する駆動制御回路を含む磁気発生装置と、を有し、前記磁気発生装置の前記駆動制御回路は、駆動電圧を供給する駆動電源部と、基準電位部と、前記共振部を駆動する共振駆動部と、を含み、前記共振部は、第1のノードと第2のノードとの間にインダクタおよびキャパシタが接続された共振回路を含み、前記第1のノードに前記駆動電圧を受け、前記第2のノードが基準電位部に接続された状態で共振して磁界を発生し、前記共振駆動部は、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との間に接続され、制御信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える駆動スイッチング素子を含む。これにより、磁気記録媒体処理装置の磁気データの読み取りに及ぼす影響を低減することが可能で、かつ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することが可能となる。
 好適には、前記駆動制御回路は、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との間に接続され、磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第1のスイッチング素子を含む放電駆動部を有し、磁界発生停止時には、前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替える。これにより、妨害磁界の出力を増大させることが可能となることはもとより、磁気記録媒体処理装置のプリヘッドによる磁界の誤検知を防止でき、また、シャッターの開閉制御を応答性良く行うことができ、ひいては素早くカードを挿入した場合であっても、カードがシャッターにぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生を抑止することができる。
 前記駆動制御回路は、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との間に接続され、第1の磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第1のスイッチング素子を含む放電駆動部を有し、前記駆動電源部は、前記駆動電圧の供給源と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの間に接続され、第2の磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記駆動電圧の供給部と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第2のスイッチング素子を含むように構成しても良い。
 そして、好適には、前記駆動制御回路は、磁界発生停止時には、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替えた後、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替える。また、好適には、前記駆動制御回路は、磁界発生開始時には、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替えた後、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替える。この場合も、妨害磁界の出力を増大させることが可能となることはもとより、磁気記録媒体処理装置のプリヘッドによる磁界の誤検知を防止でき、また、シャッターの開閉制御を応答性良く行うことができ、ひいては素早くカードを挿入した場合であっても、カードがシャッターにぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生を抑止することができる。
 好適には、前記共振駆動部は、前記制御信号に応じて、前記共振部の第2のノードと前記基準電位部との接続状態および非接続状態が周期的および/または非周期的に切り替えられることにより、共振が周期的および/または非周期的に誘起されて、磁界を周期的および/または非周期的に発生するように前記共振部を駆動する。これにより、大きな磁界を所定期間にわたり継続的に発生するので、妨害磁界の出力を結果的に増大させ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することができる。
 好適には、前記検出機構部の検出結果および前記プリヘッドの検出情報に応じて前記磁界発生装置を駆動制御する制御部を有し、前記制御部は、前記検出機構部で記録媒体が検出されると、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を停止させ、前記プリヘッドで磁気情報が検出された後、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を開始させる。また、好適には、前記制御部は、前記プリヘッドで磁気情報が検出され、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を開始させた後、前記シャッターを開いて前記磁気記録媒体を取り込ませる。この場合も、妨害磁界の出力を増大させることが可能となることはもとより、磁気記録媒体処理装置のプリヘッドによる磁界の誤検知を防止でき、また、シャッターの開閉制御を応答性良く行うことができ、ひいては素早くカードを挿入した場合であっても、カードがシャッターにぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生を抑止することができる。
 本発明の第2の観点の磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法は、挿入口から挿入または排出するカード状磁気記録媒体を検知する検出機構部と、カード状の前記磁気記録媒体上に形成された磁気ストライプに摺動して磁気データを読み取るプリヘッドと、前記検出機構部の検出結果に応じて開閉されるシャッターと、カード状磁気記録媒体上に記録されている磁気情報を処理するカード処理部と、第1のノードと第2のノードとの間にインダクタおよびキャパシタが接続された共振回路を含む共振部により磁界を発生する磁界発生部および当該磁界発生部を駆動制御する駆動制御回路を含む磁気発生装置と、を有し、前記磁気発生装置の前記駆動制御回路は、駆動電圧を供給する駆動電源部と、基準電位部と、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との間に接続され、制御信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える駆動スイッチング素子を含む共振駆動部と、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との間に接続され、磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第1のスイッチング素子を含む放電駆動部と、を含む、磁気記録媒体処理装置において磁界発生停止を制御する際に、磁界発生停止時には、前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替える。好適には、前記駆動電源部が、前記駆動電圧の供給源と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの間に接続され、第2の磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記駆動電圧の供給部と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第2のスイッチング素子を含む磁気記録媒体処理装置において磁界発生停止を制御する際に、磁界発生時には、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替え、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替え、磁界発生停止時には、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替え、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替える。これにより、磁気記録媒体処理装置の磁気データの読み取りに及ぼす影響を低減することが可能で、かつ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することが可能となる。

 以下、本発明の実施形態を図面に関連付けて説明する。
 本実施形態においては、磁気記録媒体処理装置として、カード状をした記録媒体等に記録された磁気データを読み取りあるいは磁気データを記録するカードリーダを例に説明する。
 以下では、まず、本実施形態に係るカードリーダの概略構成を説明した後、妨害磁界を発生する磁界発生装置の具体的な回路構成および動作等を説明する。そして、このカードリーダのカードの取り込みおよび排出動作を磁界発生装置の駆動タイミングと関連付けて説明する。
[カードリーダの概略構成]
 図1は、本発明の実施形態に係る磁気記録媒体処理装置としてのカードリーダの主要部の概略構成を示す図である。
 図2は、本実施形態に係る磁気記録媒体処理装置としてのカードリーダのカード挿入部の概略構成を示す図である。
 本形態のカードリーダ10は、カードMCに記録された磁気データの読み取りおよび/またはカードMCへの磁気データの書き込みを行うための磁気記録媒体処理装置であり、たとえば、金融機関等に設置される自動取引装置(ATM(Automated Teller Machine))等の所定の上位装置に搭載されて使用される。カードリーダ10は、上位装置の筺体の前面を構成するフロントパネル20の奥側に配置されている。フロントパネル20には、磁気データが記録された磁気記録媒体としてのカードMCが挿入または排出される開口21が形成されている。
 カードリーダ10は、図1に示すように、カードMCに記録された磁気データの読み取りおよび/またはカードMCへの磁気データの書き込みを行うカード処理部30と、カードMCが挿入、排出されるカード挿入口311が形成されるカード挿入部31と、カードリーダ10を制御する制御部40と、スキミング用の磁気ヘッドでカードMCの磁気データの読取を阻止するための妨害磁界を発生させる磁界発生装置50とを備えている。カードリーダ10の内部には、カード挿入口311から挿入されたカードMCが搬送されるカード搬送路32が形成されている。また、カードリーダ10の各種の制御を行う制御部40は、回路基板(図示省略)に実装されている。
 本実施形態では、図1および図2のX方向(左右方向)にカードMCが搬送される。すなわち、X方向は、カードMCの搬送方向である。また、図1のZ方向(上下方向)は、カードMCの厚さ方向であり、X方向とZ方向とに直交する図1および図2のY方向(図1の紙面垂直方向)は、カードMCの幅方向(短手幅方向)である。
 カードMCは、たとえば、厚さが0.7~0.8mm程度の矩形状の塩化ビニール製のカードである。このカードMCには、磁気ストライプmpが形成されている。なお、カードMCには、ICチップが固定されても良いし、通信用のアンテナが内蔵されても良い。また、カードMCは、厚さが0.18~0.36mm程度のPET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)カードであっても良いし、所定の厚さの紙カード等であっても良い。
 カード処理部30は、カード搬送路32でカードMCを搬送するためのカード搬送機構33と、磁気データの読取および書き込みを行う磁気ヘッド34と、カード搬送路32内のカードMCの有無を検出するためのフォトセンサ35とを備えている。
 カード搬送機構33は、3個の搬送ローラ331~333と、搬送ローラ331~333を回転駆動する駆動用モータ36と、駆動用モータ36の動力を搬送ローラ331~333に伝達する動力伝達機構(図示せず)とを備えている。また、カード搬送機構33は、搬送ローラ331~333にそれぞれ対向配置されるとともに搬送ローラ331~333に向かって付勢されるパッドローラ334~336とを備えている。3個の搬送ローラ331~333は、カードMCの搬送方向で所定の間隔をあけた状態で配置されている。
 各搬送ローラ331,332,333は、制御部40の制御の下、駆動モータ36によって回転駆動される。
 磁気ヘッド34は、図1に示すように、カードMCの搬送方向において、カード処理部30の中央部に配置される搬送ロー332の回転中心と磁気ヘッド34の中心とがX方向で略一致するように配置されている。また、磁気ヘッド34には、カード搬送路32を通過するカードMCに対して磁気ヘッド34に向かう付勢力を与えるための対向ローラ335が対向配置されている。
 フォトセンサ35は、発光素子と受光素子とを有する光学式のセンサである。
 本実施形態では、磁気ヘッド34は、フォトセンサ351によってカードMCの先端が検出された直後から磁気ストライプmpに記録された磁気データを読み取り、フォトセンサ351によってカードMCが検出されなくなる直前に磁気データの読取を終える。すなわち、本実施形態では、フォトセンサ351によって磁気ヘッド34で磁気データの読取が行われているか否かを検出することが可能である。
 カード挿入部31は、カード挿入口311からカードMCが挿入されたか否かを検出するための検出機構部としてのカード挿入検出機構37と、カード搬送路32を開閉するシャッター38と、磁気ストライプmpに記録された磁気データを読み取るプリヘッド(磁気ヘッド)39とを備えている。
 カード挿入検出機構37は、たとえば図2に示すように、カードMCの幅方向の一方の端部に接触可能なセンサレバー371がカードMCに接触しているか否かを検出するカード幅センサ(カード検出センサ)372を備えている。なお、センサレバー371は、所定の回動軸を中心に回動可能となっており、カード搬送路32に出没可能となっている。
 カード幅センサ372は、レバー部材とレバー部材に押圧される接点とを備える接点スイッチにより構成される。本実施形態では、カード挿入口311から挿入されたカードMCの幅方向の端部がセンサレバー371に接触すると、センサレバー371が回動して、カード幅センサ372のレバー部材に接触し、レバー部材によって接点が押圧される。すなわち、本実施形態のカード幅センサ372は、カード挿入口311から挿入されたカードMCがセンサレバー371に接触することを検出することで、カード挿入口311からカードMCが挿入されたことを検出する。
 なお、カード幅センサ372は、発光素子と受光素子とを有する光学式のセンサであっても良い。また、カード挿入検出機構37は、カードMCの幅方向の端部に直接、接触する接点を有する機械式の検出機構であっても良い。
 プリヘッド39は、カードMCの搬送方向において、カード挿入口311の近傍に配置されている。具体的には、プリヘッド39は、カード挿入検出機構37の近傍、たとえばセンサレバー371のカードMCとの当接部分の近傍に配置されている。本実施形態では、プリヘッド39は、カード挿入検出機構37によってカードMCの先端が検出された直後から磁気ストライプmpに記録された磁気データを読み取り、カード挿入検出機構37によってカードMCが検出されなくなる直前に磁気データの読取を終える。すなわち、本実施形態では、カード挿入検出機構37によってプリヘッド39で磁気データの読み取りが行われているか否かを検出することが可能である。本形態のカード挿入検出機構37は、プリヘッド39で磁気データの読み取りが行われていることを検出するための読取状態検出手段として機能する。
 なお、磁界発生装置50は、磁界発生部としての共振部(共振回路)を含み、その駆動制御回路の構成等に特徴を有しており、その具体的な構成については、複数の実施形態を例に後で詳細に説明する。
[カードリーダの制御部の概略構成]
 図3は、図1に示すカードリーダ10の制御部40およびその関連部分の概略構成を示す第1のブロック図である。図4は、図1に示すカードリーダ10の制御部40およびその関連部分の概略構成を示す第2のブロック図である。図3および図4は、本実施形態に係るカードリーダに設けられている、妨害磁界を発生する磁界発生装置のインダクタの構成例およびキャパシタとの接続例をあわせて示している。
 制御部40は、回路基板(図示省略)に実装されている。制御部40は、カードリーダ10の各種、各部の制御を行い、たとえば、CPU41を含んで構成されている。制御部40は、その内蔵ROM内に格納されている制御プログラムに従って、カードMCの搬送動作、磁気ヘッド34による読み取り動作等を制御する。さらに、制御部40には、フォトセンサ35、カード検出センサ372、プリヘッド39が接続されており、これらの各構成からの出力信号が入力される。また、制御部40には、ドライバ42を介して駆動用モータ36が接続される。さらに、制御部40には、エンコーダ361が接続されており、モータ36の回転状態等を検出するエンコーダ361からの出力信号が入力される。
 また、本実施形態では、制御部40は、不正に取り付けられたスキミング用磁気ヘッドに妨害磁界を発生する磁界発生装置50が接続される。磁界発生装置50は、カード検出センサ372のカード検出結果、プリヘッド39の磁気検出結果等に応じて、磁界発生や磁界発生の停止等の駆動制御を行われる。
[磁界発生装置の概略構成]
 本実施形態の磁界発生装置50は、磁界発生部51と、磁界発生部51による磁界発生や磁界発生部の停止等を駆動制御する駆動制御回路(駆動制御部)52を有している。
 磁界発生装置50の磁界発生部51は、磁界を発生するためのインダクタL1を含んで構成されている。インダクタL1は、たとえば図3に示すように、コイルCLにより形成される。あるいは、インダクタL2は、図4に示すように、鉄心FCにコイルCLを巻いて形成される。本実施形態では、磁界発生部51は、カード挿入部31に配置されている。本実施形態の妨害磁界発生装置50の磁界発生部51は、後で詳述するように、インダクタL1またはL2はキャパシタC1またはC2と接続されて共振部(並列共振回路)を形成し、インダクタのみの構成に比較して、妨害磁界を継続して発生する。また、妨害磁界の出力を増大させるように構成される。
 磁界発生装置50は、制御部40により統合的に制御される駆動制御回路52の制御の下に、コイルCLには交流あるいは直流電流が流される。電流が流されると、開口21あるいはカード挿入部31の外側部分に妨害磁界が発生するように構成され、配置される。妨害磁界の発生領域は、カード挿入部31を介して挿入あるいは排出される磁気カードMCに形成されている磁気ストライプmpの通過領域を含む領域となるように構成されている。
 以上の構成を有する磁界発生装置50は、回路配置としては、図1に示すように、フロントパネル20の内部側(裏面側)近傍に磁界発生部51および駆動制御回路52を、全体回路を含んで配置することができる。ただし、たとえばコイル(インダクタ)L51およびキャパシタC51により構成される磁界発生部としての共振部のみフロントパネル20の内部側近傍に配置し、残りの回路系を他の位置、たとえば制御部40側に配置する等、種々の態様が可能である。
 図5は、装置外部側にスキミング用磁気ヘッド(を含むスキマー)装置が取り付けられた状態を模式的に示す図である。
 カードリーダ10では、カードMCの挿入時には、その先端をカード挿入口311に挿入されると同時に、カードMCが搬送ローラ331によって一定の速度で搬送される。同様に、磁気カードMCの排出時にも、磁気カードMCがカード挿入口311から実質的に外部に排出されるまで搬送ローラ331によって一定の速度で搬送される。
 したがって、カード挿入口311の外部側にスキミング用磁気ヘッドおよび磁気読み取り回路を含むスキマー(不正に磁気カードのデータを読み取る装置)を取り付けた場合には、スキミング用磁気ヘッドに沿って、一定の速度でカードが移動することになる。このため、このようなカードスロットの外部側に取り付けた磁気ヘッドにより、カードの記録データを読み取ることが可能である。
 本形態に係るカードリーダ10においては、たとえば図5に示すように、カードスロット用開口21が形成されているフロントパネル20の表面に不正に磁気ヘッド61を含むスキマー60が取り付けられたとしても、このようなスキミング用磁気ヘッド61によるカードMCの読み取り動作を、磁界発生装置50による妨害磁界によって阻止することができる。
 すなわち、本実施形態においては、妨害磁界の発生を継続させることが可能で、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することを可能とする、以下に説明するような特徴的な構成を有する磁界発生装置50が採用されている。
[磁界発生装置50の磁界発生部(共振部)51および駆動制御52の構成例]
 次に、磁界発生装置50の磁界発生部51および駆動制御回路52の具体的な回路構成および動作を複数(第1~第3)の実施形態として詳細に説明する。以下の説明において、第1の本実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50の磁界発生部51としての共振部511は、基本的に、インダクタであるコイルLおよびキャパシタCを接続して形成されるLC並列共振回路を有し、このLC並列共振回路により磁界を継続的に発生する機能を有する。さらに、本実施形態において、この磁界発生部51は、LC共振回路により、従来のものより強い磁界を発生させる機能を有している。これにより、磁界発生装置50は、磁界を所定期間にわたり継続的に発生するので、妨害磁界の出力を結果的に増大させ、スキミング用磁気ヘッドを用いて磁気データを不正に取得することを確実に防止することができる。
 なお、上述したように、磁界発生装置50では、妨害磁界の出力を増大させたので、駆動制御を停止した場合でも、強い磁界が残留し、すなわち、残留する共振エネルギーに伴う残留磁界により、プリヘッド39での磁気データの読み取りができないおそれがある。これにより、カードリーダ10では、異物の混入を防止するために、プリヘッド39からの磁気データの出力信号に基づき、シャッター38を開放しているが、プリヘッド39で磁気データを読み取れない場合や、残留している磁界により、プリヘッド39が誤検知する場合がある。そのため、シャッター38の開閉制御の応答性が悪くなり、ひいてはユーザが素早くカードを挿入した場合、カードMCがシャッター38にぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生するおそれがある。これらを解決するために、たとえば、カードリーダ10において、カード搬送方向におけるプリヘッド39とシャッター38との配置を共振エネルギーが磁気ヘッドへの影響を受けない程度になるまで減衰するまでの間隔(距離)となるように配置されている。また、共振エネルギーを減衰できる程度の出力に設定するようにしてもよい。さらに、カード搬送路32を、カードを搬送する際に負荷がかかるようにして、シャッター38までに届く時間をかせぐようにしてもよい。
 第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Bは、第1の実施形態の妨害磁界を発生するLC共振回路における共振エネルギーを、妨害磁界の発生を停止するときに、素早く(短時間に)開放する機能を有するように構成される。この磁界発生装置50Bは、妨害磁界の出力を増大させることが可能となることはもとより、プリヘッド39による磁界の誤検知を防止でき、また、シャッター38の開閉制御を応答性良く行うことができ、ひいては素早くカードを挿入した場合であっても、カードがシャッター38にぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生を抑止することができる。
[磁界発生装置の第1の実施形態]
 まず、第1の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置について説明する。
 図6は、本発明の第1の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置の磁界発生部および駆動制御回路を示す回路図である。
 図6の磁界発生装置50Aは、基本的に、磁界発生部51Aとしての共振部511、並びに、駆動制御回路52Aとしての駆動電源電圧VCCを供給する駆動電源部521、基準電位部522、および共振駆動部523を有する。
 本実施形態においては、駆動電源部521が供給する駆動電源電圧(以下、駆動電圧ともいう)VCCは、24Vあるいは20Vに設定される。駆動電源部521は、駆動電圧VCCの供給源SVCCに接続された接続ノードND51を通して駆動電圧VCCを共振部511に供給する。駆動電源部521は、接続ノードND51と共振部511の電力入力ノード(第1のノードND52)との間に逆流防止用のダイオードD51が接続されている。ダイオードD51は、接続ノードND51から共振部511の第1のノードND52に向かって順方向となるように接続されている。すなわち、ダイオードD51は、アノードが接続ノードND51に接続され、カソードが共振部511の第1のノードND52に接続されている。
 基準電位部522は、基準電位VSSに設定される。本実施形態において、基準電位は接地電位GNDである。
 共振部511は、第1のノードND52と第2のノードND53との間にインダクタL51およびキャパシタC51が接続された共振回路を含み、第1のノードND52に駆動電圧VCCを受け、第2のノードND53が基準電位部522に電気的に接続された状態で共振し、インダクタL51に流れる電流に応じた磁界を発生する。すなわち、共振部511は、スキミング用磁気ヘッドに対し妨害磁界を発生させて、不正に磁気データを取得することを防止するように構成されている。
 本実施形態において、共振回路は、第1のノードND52と第2のノードND53との間にインダクタL51およびキャパシタC51並列に接続されたLC並列共振回路により構成されている。インダクタL51であるコイルの一端が第1のノードND52に接続され、コイルの他端が第2のノードND53に接続されている。キャパシタC51の一方の電極(端子)が第1のノードND52に接続され、他方の電極(端子)が第2のノードND53に接続されている。第1のノードND52は、駆動電源部521の電源電圧VCCの供給ラインに接続されている。第2のノードND53は、共振駆動部523の大電力用の駆動スイッチング素子DSW51を介して基準電位部522に選択的に接続される。
 LC並列共振回路においては、LCの互いの電流が打消しあい、共振周波数において外部からはインピーダンスが無限大に見える。このときキャパシタC51の内部に電界として蓄えられたエネルギーと、インダクタL51であるコイルの内部に磁界として蓄えられたエネルギーが系の内部で互いに移動する。本実施形態では、共振部511は、共振駆動部523を通してパルス状の制御信号CTLにより周期的に共振するように制御される。なお、パルス状の制御信号CLTは非周期的に共振するように制御されても良いし、周期的と非周期的とを混合するように制御されてもよい。
 共振部511は、共振駆動部523を通して第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との接続状態および非接続状態が切り替えられることにより、共振が誘起されて、妨害磁界を発生するように制御される。また、共振部511は、共振駆動部523を通して、カード挿入口311にカードMCが挿入され、カード検出センサ372がカードMCを検出してから、発生した磁界が妨害磁界としての機能を保持できない程度となる、あるいは発生した磁界がなくなるまで、上述した周期より長い時間、妨害磁界を発生しないように制御(磁界発生停止制御)される。この妨害磁界の発生が停止された所定期間にプリヘッド39で磁気が検出されたか否かの判断が制御部40で行われる。ここでいう周期とは、共振作用が誘起されて磁界を発生した後、共振エネルギーの減衰に伴い磁界が減衰するが、この減衰する磁界が妨害磁界としての機能を保持している間に、共振を誘起することができる期間をいう。
 共振駆動部523は、制御部40による制御信号CTLに応じて、共振部511の第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との接続状態および非接続状態が切り替えられることにより、共振が誘起されて、妨害磁界を発生するように制御する。共振駆動部523は、制御信号CTLに応じて、共振部511の第2のノードND53と基準電位部522とが非接続状態に周期的または/および非周期的に切り替えられることにより、発生した磁界が妨害磁界としての機能を保持できない程度となる上述した周期より長い時間、妨害磁界を発生しないように制御する。
 本実施形態の共振駆動部523は、たとえばバイポーラ等のトランジスタにより形成される大電力用の駆動スイッチング素子DSW51を含んで構成される。この駆動スイッチング素子DSW51は、共振部511の第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との間に接続され、制御信号CTLに応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、共振部511の第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える。
 共振駆動部523は、制御信号CTLをたとえばアクティブのハイレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51を導通状態に駆動する。共振駆動部523は、制御信号CTLを非アクティブのローレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51を非導通状態に駆動する。
 次に、第1の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Aの動作を、図7に関連付けて説明する。
 図7は、第1の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置の動作を説明するための波形図である。図7は、図1の磁気カードリーダ10に図6の磁界発生装置50Aを搭載した場合のシミュレーション結果の波形を示している。図7(a)は制御信号CTLを示す図、図7(b)は妨害磁界DMGを示す図である。
 まず、妨害磁界を発生させていない状態で、図7(a)および(b)に示すように、妨害磁界を発生するように、制御信号CTLが制御部40から磁界発生装置50Aにおける駆動制御回路52Aの共振駆動部523に供給される。この場合、制御信号CTLがアクティブのハイレベル(H)で供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLをアクティブのハイレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が導通状態に駆動される。
 これにより、共振部511において、第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に接続状態となる。共振部511においては、第1のノードND52には、駆動電源部521から駆動電圧VCCが供給されている。すなわち、共振部511は、共振駆動部523を通して第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との接続状態に切り替えられることにより、共振機能が誘起されて、コイル(インダクタ)L51に流れる電流が増大し、妨害磁界を発生するように制御される。
 ここで、制御信号CTLは非アクティブのローレベル(L)で切り替えられ、共振駆動部523に供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLを非アクティブのローレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が非導通状態に駆動される。
 このとき、共振部511の第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に切り離されることになるが、共振部511は誘起された共振エネルギーによりコイル(インダクタ)L51の電流ILが減衰しながら流れ、これに伴い、妨害磁界も減衰しながらもその発生が継続された状態となっている。
 ここで、制御部40は、たとえばパルス状の制御信号CTLを共振駆動部523に供給することにより、共振部511で共振作用が誘起されて磁界が発生した後、共振エネルギーの減衰に伴い磁界が減衰するが、この減衰する磁界が妨害磁界としての機能を保持している間に、共振を誘起することができるように、前回の出力(供給)から一定の周期または/および非周期(ランダム)で制御信号CTLをアクティブのハイレベル(H)で共振駆動部523に供給する。
 すなわち、上述したと同様に、図7(a)および(b)に示すように、再度妨害磁界を発生するように、制御信号CTLが制御部40から駆動制御回路52Aの共振駆動部523にアクティブのハイレベル(H)で供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLをアクティブのハイレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が導通状態に駆動される。
 これにより、共振部511において、第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に接続状態となる。共振部511においては、第1のノードND52には、駆動電源部521から駆動電圧VCCが供給されている。すなわち、共振部511は、共振駆動部523を通して第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との接続状態に切り替えられることにより、共振機能が再度誘起されて、コイル(インダクタ)L51に流れる電流が増大し、妨害磁界を発生するように制御される。
 ここで、パルス状の制御信号CTLは非アクティブのローレベル(L)で切り替えられ、共振駆動部523に供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLを非アクティブのローレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が非導通状態に駆動される。
 このとき、共振部511の第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に切り離されることになるが、共振部511は誘起された共振エネルギーによりコイル(インダクタ)L51の電流が減衰しながら流れ、これに伴い、妨害磁界も減衰しながらもその発生が継続された状態となっている。
 以上の動作が妨害磁界を発生する期間に繰り返し行われる。
 このように、第1の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、カード挿入口311に不正に取り付けられたスキミング用磁気ヘッド装置に対し、妨害磁界を発生させることにより、磁気データが読み取られることを防止することができる。
 ところで、第1の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、妨害磁界を共振部(共振回路)511によって発生させている場合において、カード検出センサ(本例ではカード幅センサ)372でカードが検出されると、プリヘッド39により磁気検知を行う必要があることから、妨害磁界の発生を停止する必要がある。したがって、磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、カード検出センサ372でカードを検出したことをトリガとして、妨害磁界の発生を停止すべく、制御部40は、周期的または/および非周期的な制御信号CTLの駆動制御回路52Aの共振駆動部523に対する出力を停止するように構成されている。このように、磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、カード検出センサ(カード幅センサ)372がカードを検出したことをトリガに妨害磁界発生のための制御信号CTLの出力を停止するが、このとき、数msの間、共振によって、磁界が残る傾向にある。上述したように、プリヘッド39により磁気検知を行っているが、磁界が残っているとカードの磁気データなのか妨害磁界の残りなのか区別がつかなくなるおそれがある。そこで、磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、発生させた磁界が妨害磁界としての機能を保持できない程度となる、あるいは発生した磁界がなくなるまでの時間を想定して、この想定時間が経過するまで、シャッター38を開けないように制御している。
 たとえば、カードリーダ10において、カード搬送方向におけるプリヘッド39とシャッター38との配置を共振エネルギーが磁気ヘッドへの影響を受けない程度になるまで減衰するまでの間隔(距離)となるように配置されている。また、共振エネルギーを減衰できる程度の出力に設定するようにしてもよい。さらに、カード搬送路32を、カードMCを搬送する際に負荷がかかるようにして、シャッター38までに届く時間をかせぐようにしてもよい。
 以上のようにして、第1の本実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Aにおいては、基本的に、インダクタであるコイルL51およびキャパシタC51を接続して形成されるLC並列共振回路を有し、このLC並列共振回路により大きな磁界を共振エネルギーの保持特性により所定期間継続的に発生するので、妨害磁界の出力を結果的に増大させ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することができる。すなわち、不正行為者が、カードMCの磁気データを読み取るために、上位装置のフロントパネル20の外部側に、カードリーダ10のカード挿入口311に、スキミング用磁気ヘッド(と磁気読み取り回路を含む)装置60を取り付けていたとしても、強い磁界を発生することが可能で、妨害磁界の出力を増大させ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することができる。
[磁界発生装置の第2の実施形態]
 次に、第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置について説明する。
 図8は、本発明の第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置の磁界発生部および駆動制御回路を示す回路図である。図9は、本発明の第2の実施形態に係る駆動制御回路の要部をより具体的に示す回路図であり、第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置の磁界発生停止時の動作を中心に説明するための図である。
 本第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Bが上述した第1の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Aと異なる点は、次の通りである。第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Bは、第1の実施形態の妨害磁界を発生するLC並列共振回路における共振エネルギーを、妨害磁界の発生を停止するときに、素早く(短時間に)開放する機能を有するように構成される。この構成を採用した理由を述べる。
 前述したように、第1の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、カード検出センサ(本例ではカード幅センサ)372でカードMCを検出したことをトリガとして、妨害磁界の発生を停止すべく、制御部40は、周期的または/および非周期的な制御信号CTLの駆動制御回路52Aの共振駆動部523に対する出力を停止するように構成されている。このように、第1の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、カード検出センサ(カード幅センサ)がカードMCを検出したことをトリガに妨害磁界発生のための制御信号CTLの出力を停止するが、数msの間、共振によって、磁界が残る傾向にある。上述したように、プリヘッド39により磁気検知を行っているが、磁界が残っているとカードMCの磁気データなのか妨害磁界の残りなのか区別がつかなくなるおそれがある。そこで、第1の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Aを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、発生させた磁界が妨害磁界としての機能を保持できない程度となる、あるいは発生した磁界がなくなるまでの時間を想定して、この想定時間が経過するまで、シャッター38を開けないように制御している。
 ところが、この制御方法を採用すると、シャッター38が開くまでの時間が長くなる傾向にあるため、素早くカードを挿入すると、カードがシャッター38にぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象が発生するおそれがある。そこで、本第2の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Bにおいては、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52に放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52を接続して共振エネルギーの放出経路(放電経路、逃げ道)を確保している。ここで、第1のスイッチング素子DSW52は、本実施形態では、たとえばバイポーラ等のトランジスタにより形成される大電力のスイッチングが可能なトランジスタにより形成したが、これ以外のトランジスタ、たとえばFETにより形成してもよい。
 また、本第2の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Bにおいては、駆動電源部521Bの電源電圧VCCの共振部511Bへの供給ラインに妨害磁界発生停止時に電源電圧VCCの共振部511Bの第1のノードND52への供給を停止させる第2のスイッチング素子SW51を接続している。
 後述するように、本第2の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Bは、共振部511Bの共振を停止して共振エネルギーを開放させる場合、駆動電源部521Bの第2のスイッチング素子SW51(たとえば、トランジスタTR2)を非導通状態(OFF状態)にして駆動電圧VCCの供給を停止してから、放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52(たとえば、としてのトランジスタTR1)を導通状態(ON状態)にして共振エネルギーを開放するように構成される。
 また、本第2の実施形態の駆動制御回路52Bは、磁界発生開始(再開)時には、放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52を非導通状態に切り替えた後、第2のスイッチング素子SW51を導通状態に切り替えるように構成される。
 以下、本第2の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Bの具体的な構成を、図6の構成に追加された部分を中心に詳細に説明する。磁界発生装置50Bにおいては、駆動制御回路52Bに放電駆動部524が追加され、さらに駆動電源部521Bの構成が第1の実施形態の駆動制御回路52Aと異なる。
 放電駆動部524は、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52と放電用電位部、たとえば基準電位部522との間に接続され、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52と放電用電位部である基準電位部522との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える大電力対応の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1を含んで構成されている。放電駆動部524は、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52に放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1を接続して共振エネルギーの放出経路(放電経路)を形成している。
 本実施形態の放電駆動部524は、図9に示すように、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52と放電用電位部、たとえば基準電位部522との間に放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1が接続されている。トランジスタTR1は、たとえば大電力対応の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのnpn型のバイポーラトンジスにより形成されている。
 第1のスイッチング素子DSW52を構成するトランジスタTR1は、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52と基準電位部522との間に接続され、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52と基準電位部522との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える。トランジスタTR1は、コレクタ(C)が共振部511Bの第1のノードND52に接続され、エミッタ(E)が基準電位部522に接続され、ベース(B)が第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1の供給ラインに接続されている。
 放電駆動部524は、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1をたとえばアクティブのハイレベルで受けると、第1のスイッチング素子DSW52であるトランジスタTR1を導通状態に駆動する。放電駆動部524は、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1を非アクティブのローレベルで受けると、第1のスイッチング素子DSW52であるトランジスタTR1を非導通状態に駆動する。
 駆動電源部521Bは、駆動電圧VCCの供給源SVCCと共振部511Bの第1のノードND52との間に接続され、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、駆動電圧の供給源SVCCと共振部511Bの第1のノードND52との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2を含んで構成されている。本第2の実施形態の駆動電源部521Bにおいては、第2のスイッチング素子SW51により、妨害磁界発生停止時に電源電圧VCCの共振部511Bの第1のノードND52への供給を停止させる。
 本実施形態の駆動電源部521Bは、図9に示すように、駆動電圧VCCの供給源SVCCと共振部511Bの第1のノードND52との間に第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2が接続されている。トランジスタTR2は、たとえばnpn型バイポーラトンジスにより形成されている。
 第2のスイッチング素子SW51を構成するトランジスタTR2は、接続ノードND51とダイオードD51のアノード(さらには共振部511Bの第1のノードND52)との間に接続され、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、接続ノードND51と共振部511Bの第1のノードND52との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える。トランジスタTR2は、エミッタ(E)が接続ノードND51(さらに駆動電圧VCCの供給源SVCC)に接続され、コレクタ(C)がダイオードD51のアノードに接続され、ベース(B)が第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2の供給ラインに接続されている。
 駆動電源部521Bは、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2をたとえばアクティブのローレベルで受けると、第2のスイッチング素子SW51であるトランジスタTR2を非導通状態に駆動し、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2を非アクティブのハイレベルで受けると、第2のスイッチング素子SW51であるトランジスタTR2を導通状態に駆動する。
 本第2の実施形態の駆動制御回路52Bに供給される第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1および第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2は、基本的に、相補的なレベルをとるように制御部40において生成される。すなわち、基本的に、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1がハイレベルに設定される場合、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2はローレベルに設定され、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1がローレベルに設定される場合、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2はハイレベルに設定される。
 本実施形態においては、磁界発生時、すなわち、スキミング用磁気ヘッドに対して妨害磁界を発生させる時には、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1がローレベルに設定され、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2はハイレベルに設定される。その結果、放電駆動部524の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1は非導通状態に切り替えられ、駆動電源部521Bの第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2は導通状態に切り替えられる。
 磁界発生停止時には、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1がハイレベルに設定され、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2はローレベルに設定される。その結果、放電駆動部524の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1は導通状態に切り替えられ、駆動電源部521Bの第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2は非導通状態に切り替えられる。この場合、効率的な共振エネルギーの放出(放電)を行うために、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2がローレベルに設定されて第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2が非導通状態に切り替えられた後、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1がハイレベルに切り替えられて、第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてはトランジスタTR1が導通状態に切り替えられる。
 磁界発生開始(再開)時には、効率的な電力供給を行うために、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1がローレベルに設定されて第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1が非導通状態に切り替えられた後、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2がハイレベルに切り替えられて、第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてはトランジスタTR2が導通状態に切り替えられる。
 以上の構成を有する磁界発生装置50Bは、回路配置としては、上述した第1実施形態の磁界発生装置50Aと同様に、図1に示すように、フロントパネル20の内部側(裏面側)近傍に磁界発生装置50Bを、全体回路を含んで配置することができるが、たとえばコイル(インダクタ)L51およびキャパシタC51のみフロントパネル20の内部側近傍に配置し、残りの回路系を他の位置、たとえば制御部40側に配置する等、種々の態様が可能である。
 この磁界発生装置50Bは、妨害磁界の出力を増大、継続させることが可能となることはもとより、プリヘッド39による磁界の誤検知を防止でき、また、シャッター38の開閉制御を応答性良く行うことができ、ひいては素早くカードを挿入した場合であっても、カードがシャッター38にぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生を抑止することができる。
 次に、第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Bの動作を、図9および図10に関連付けて説明する。図9は、第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置の磁界発生停止時の動作を中心に説明するための図である。図10は、第2の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置の動作を説明するための波形図である。図10は、図1のカードリーダに図8および図9の磁界発生装置50Bを搭載した場合のシミュレーション結果の波形を示している。図10(a)制御信号CTLを示す図、図10(b)は第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2を示す図、図10(c)は第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1を示す図、図10(d)は妨害磁界DMGを示す図である。
 以下では、第1の実施形態における動作説明と重複する部分もあるが、まず通常の妨害磁界発生開始の動作を説明した後、カード検出後の共振エネルギーの放出(放電)処理を伴う妨害磁界発生停止動作について説明する。
[妨害磁界発生動作]
 磁界発生装置50Bが磁界を発生する場合、すなわち、スキミング用磁気ヘッドに対して妨害磁界を発生させる場合、共振エネルギーの放出(放電)は行わず、かつ、駆動電圧VCCが共振部511Bの第1のノードND52に供給され、さらに、共振部511Bの第2のノードND53が基準電位部522に接続されている必要がある。
 これを踏まえて、まず、共振エネルギーの放出(放電)が行われないように、図9(A)に信号波形で示すように、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1が非アクティブのローレベル(L)で制御部40から駆動制御回路52Bの放電駆動部524に供給される。放電駆動部524では、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1を非アクティブのローレベルで受けると、第1のスイッチング素子DSW52であるトランジスタTR1が非導通状態に駆動される。これにより、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52からの共振エネルギーの放出(放電)は行われない状態となる。
 これと並行して、駆動電圧VCCが共振部511Bの第1のノードND52に供給されるように、図9(A)の信号波形で示すように、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2が非アクティブのハイレベル(H)で制御部40から駆動制御回路52Bの駆動電源部521Bに供給される。駆動電源部521Bでは、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2を非アクティブのハイレベル(H)で受けると、第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR1が導通状態(ON状態)となる。トランジスタTR1が導通状態に遷移したことに伴い、駆動電源部521Bからの駆動電圧VCCが共振部511Bの第1のノードND52に供給された状態となる。
 そして、たとえば(妨害)磁界を発生させていない状態で、図10(a)に示すように、妨害磁界を発生するように、制御信号CTLが制御部40から駆動制御回路52Aの共振駆動部523に供給される。この場合、制御信号CTLがアクティブのハイレベル(H)でパルス状に供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLをアクティブのハイレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が導通状態に駆動される。
 これにより、共振部511Bにおいて、第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に接続状態となる。上述したように、共振部511Bにおいては、第1のノードND52には、駆動電源部521から駆動電圧VCCが供給されている。すなわち、共振部511Bは、共振駆動部523を通して第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との接続状態に切り替えられることにより、共振機能が誘起されて、コイル(インダクタ)L51に流れる電流が増大し、スキミング用磁気ヘッドに対して妨害磁界を発生するように制御される。
 ここで、制御信号CTLは非アクティブのローレベル(L)に切り替えられ、共振駆動部523に供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLを非アクティブのローレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が非導通状態に駆動される。
 このとき、共振部511Bの第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に切り離されることになるが、共振部511Bは誘起された共振エネルギーによりコイル(インダクタ)L51の電流が減衰しながら流れ、これに伴い、妨害磁界も減衰しながらもその発生が継続された状態となっている。
 ここで、制御部40は、パルス状の制御信号CTLを共振駆動部523に供給したことにより、共振部511Bで共振作用が誘起されて磁界が発生した後、共振エネルギーの減衰に伴い磁界が減衰するが、この減衰する磁界が妨害磁界としての機能を保持している間に、共振を誘起することができるように、前回の出力(供給)から一定の周期または/および非周期(ランダム)で制御信号CTLをアクティブのハイレベル(H)で共振駆動部523に供給する。
 すなわち、上述したと同様に、図10(a)に示すように、再度妨害磁界を発生するように、制御信号CTLが制御部40から駆動制御回路52Bの共振駆動部523にアクティブのハイレベル(H)で供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLをアクティブのハイレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が導通状態に駆動される。
 これにより、共振部511Bにおいて、第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に接続状態となる。共振部511においては、第1のノードND52には、駆動電源部521から駆動電圧VCCが供給されている。すなわち、共振部511Bは、共振駆動部523を通して第2のノードND53と基準電位部522との接続状態に切り替えられることにより、共振機能が再度誘起されて、コイル(インダクタ)L51に流れる電流が増大し、妨害磁界を発生するように制御される。
 ここで、制御信号CTLは非アクティブのローレベル(L)で切り替えられ、共振駆動
部523に供給される。共振駆動部523では、制御信号CTLを非アクティブのローレベルで受けると、駆動スイッチング素子DSW51が非導通状態に駆動される。
 このとき、共振部511Bの第2のノードND53が基準電位部522と電気的に切り離されることになるが、共振部511Bは誘起された共振エネルギーによりコイル(インダクタ)L51の電流が減衰しながら流れ、これに伴い、妨害磁界も減衰しながらもその発生が継続された状態となっている。
 以上の動作が妨害磁界を発生する期間に繰り返し行われる。
 このように、第2の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Bを搭載したカードリーダ10においては、カード挿入口311に不正に取り付けられたスキミング用磁気ヘッド(読み取り回路を含め)装置に対し、妨害磁界を発生させることにより、磁気データが読み取られることを防止することができる。
[妨害磁界発生停止動作]
 次に、カード検出センサ(本例ではカード幅センサ)372によるカード検出後の共振エネルギーの放出(放電)処理を伴う妨害磁界発生停止動作について説明する。制御部40は、カード検出センサ372がカードを検出したことを示す信号を受けると、制御部40において、共振エネルギーの放出(放電)を行い、発生し残留している可能性の高い妨害磁界を素早く消失させるような駆動制御が行われる。この場合、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52が放電用電位である基準電位部522に電気的に接続され、また、望ましくは共振部511Bの第1のノードND52への駆動電圧VCCの供給が停止される必要がある。
 これを踏まえて、共振エネルギーの放出が効率良く行われるように、駆動電圧VCCが共振部511Bの第1のノードND52への供給が停止されるよう、図9(B)に信号波形で示すように、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2がアクティブのローレベル(L)で制御部40から駆動制御回路52Bの駆動電源部521Bに供給される。駆動電源部521Bでは、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2をアクティブのローレベル(L)で受けると、第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2が非導通状態(OFF状態)となる。トランジスタTR2が非導通状態に遷移したことに伴い、駆動電源部521からの駆動電圧VCCの共振部511Bの第1のノードND52への供給が停止された状態となる。
 これと並行して、共振部511Bの共振エネルギーの放出(放電)が行うように、図9(B)に信号波形で示すように、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1が非アクティブのローレベル(L)からアクティブのハイレベル(H)に切り替えられて制御部40から駆動制御回路52Bの放電駆動部524に供給される。放電駆動部524では、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1をアクティブのハイレベルで受けると、第1のスイッチング素子DSW52であるトランジスタTR1が導通状態に駆動される。これにより、共振部511Bにおいて、第1のノードND52が基準電位部522と電気的に接続状態となり、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52からの共振エネルギーの放出(放電)が行われる状態となり、共振部511Bにおける共振エネルギーが速やかに(素早く)、放出(放電)される。
 このような共振エネルギーの放出が終了し、シャッター38を開ける等の処理を行ってから、再度妨害磁界を発生する場合には、基本的に、上述した磁界発生動作で説明した動作と同様の動作が行われる。ただし、効率的な切り替えおよび動作電圧の電力供給を行うために、磁界発生再開時には、図9(B)および(C)に示すように、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1がローレベルに設定されて第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1が非導通状態に切り替えられた後、第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2がハイレベルに切り替えられて、第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてはトランジスタTR1が導通状態に切り替えられる。
 以上のように、第2の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Bは、妨害磁界の出力を増大、継続させることが可能となることはもとより、プリヘッド39による磁界の誤検知を防止でき、また、シャッター38の開閉制御を応答性良く行うことができ、ひいては素早くカードを挿入した場合であっても、カードがシャッター38にぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生を抑止することができる。
[磁界発生装置の第3の実施形態]
 次に、第3の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置について説明する。
 図11は、本発明の第3の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置の磁界発生部および駆動制御回路を示す回路図である。
 本第3の実施形態に係る磁界発生装置50Cが上述した第2の実施形態に係る図9の磁界発生装置50Bと異なる点は、次の通りである。磁界発生装置50Cの駆動制御回路52Cにおいては、図9において、放電駆動部の大電力のバイポーラトランジスタで形成したnpn型トランジスタを、nチャネルの電界効果トランジスタ(FETであるNMOSトランジスタTR1Nにより形成している。同様に、駆動制御回路52Cにおいては、図9において、駆動電源部のnpn型トランジスタで形成したトランジスタをnチャネルのFETであるNMOSトランジスタTR2nにより形成している。
 その他の構成は、第2の実施形態と同様であり、本第3の実施形態によれば、上述した第2の実施形態と同様の効果を得ることができる。
[カードリーダのカード取り込みおよび排出動作]
 最後に、一例として、カードリーダ10のカードMCの取り込みおよび排出動作を磁界発生装置50Bの駆動タイミングと関連付けて説明する。
 まず、取り込み動作を図12および図13に関連付けて説明する。
 図12は、カード取込み時の動作を説明するためのフローチャートである。
 図13は、カード取込み時の動作を説明するための図である。
 ここでは、制御部40による制御の下、磁界発生装置50Bの駆動制御回路52Bが駆動されてスキミング用磁気ヘッドに対して妨害磁界が発生されている状態で(ステップST1)、利用者がカードMCをカード挿入口311に挿入すると(ステップST2)、カード検出センサ372によって挿入されたカードが検出される(ステップST3)。この検出情報は制御部40に供給される。制御部40は、カードMCの挿入が検出されると、次にプリヘッド39がカードMCに形成された磁気ストライプmpを摺動し、磁気ストライプmp上に書き込まれている磁気データを読み取る。このとき、制御部40は、プリヘッド39がカードMCの磁気データを読み取る、磁気検出が行われる際に、残留妨害磁界が磁気検出に影響を与えないように、上述した動作と同様に、磁界発生を停止させ、駆動制御回路52Bの共振部511Bの共振エネルギーを放出(放電)させるべく、第1の磁界発生停止信号STP1および第2の磁界発生停止信号STP2をアクティブで出力する(ステップST4、ST5)。この状態で、挿入されたカードMCに形成されている磁気ストライプがカード挿入検出用のプリヘッド39によって検出される(ステップST6)。そして、このプリヘッド39による検出信号により、制御部40は、磁界発生装置50Bの駆動制御回路52Bを所定時間駆動して、妨害磁界を発生させる(ステップST7)。そして、妨害磁界を発生した状態で、制御部40は、シャッター38を開き(ステップST8)、駆動モータ38を起動して(ステップST9)、取込みローラ対331を含む搬送系を駆動する。
 この結果、カードMCを内部に取込み可能になる。カードMCがシャッター38の位置を超えて奥まで挿入されると、その先端が取込み排出ローラ331にくわえ込まれて、カードMCの取込み動作が開始される(ステップST10)。
 ここで、本例では、カードMCの取り込みが開始された後は、たとえばカードMCの後端がカード挿入口311から突出している状態の間は、磁界発生装置50Bにより妨害磁界を発生させ、その後、妨害磁界の発生を停止するようにしている(ステップST11)。妨害磁界の発生時間は、カード挿入検出用のプリヘッド39による検出時点からの経過時間やカード検出センサ37等によって管理できる。
 次に、カードMCを読み取り用の磁気ヘッド31の位置まで取り込んだ後は、磁気ヘッド34により、カードMCの読み取り動作あるいは書き込み動作を行う(ステップST12)。
 このように、本例のカードMCの取込み動作においては、カードMCの後端がカード挿入口311から突出している時点で、妨害磁界を発生させるようにしている。この結果、たとえば、図13において想像線で示すように、カード挿入口311の外部側位置、たとえば、上位装置のフロントパネル20の表面にスキミング用磁気ヘッド装置61が取り付けられていたとしても、妨害磁界の発生により、挿入されるカードMCの磁気データをスキミング用磁気ヘッド61によっては完全に読み取ることはできない。よって、このようなスキミング用磁気ヘッド61による磁気データの不正な読み取りを阻止できる。
 次に、排出動作を図14および図15に関連付けて説明する。
 図14は、カード排出時の動作を説明するためのフローチャートである。
 図15は、カード排出時の動作を説明するための図である。
 この場合、ローラ331,332,333によってカードMCの排出動作を開始し(ステップST21)、排出されるカードMCの排出方向の先端がカード検出センサ37によって検出されると(ステップST22)、磁界発生装置50Bが駆動され、妨害磁界が発生される(ステップST23)。
 この後は、フォトセンサ352によって排出されるカードMCの後端が検出されると(ステップST24)、駆動モータ36を停止して(ステップST25)、カード排出動作を終了する。この後、制御部40は、磁界発生装置50の駆動制御回路52Bの駆動を止め、妨害磁界の発生を停止させる(ステップST26)。
 カード排出動作が終了した時点では、カードMCの後端が搬送ローラ331にくわえ込
まれた状態にある。利用者が軽くカードMCを引っ張ることにより、カード挿入口311からカードMCを取り出すことができる。なお、利用者がカードMCを取り出すことを忘れた場合には、所定の時間経過後に、搬送ローラ対36を駆動して、カードMCを内部に回収できるようになっている。
 このように、本例のカードリーダ10では、カードの排出時においても、その排出側の先端部分がカード挿入口311から外部の突き出た状態で、一時的に妨害磁界を発生させるようにしている。したがって、フロントパネル表面にスキミング用磁気ヘッド61装置が取り付けられていたとしても、このスキミング用磁気ヘッド61装置によって排出されるカードMCの磁気データが読み取られてしまうことを阻止できる。
 なお、本例では、一例であって、磁界発生装置50Bの駆動を、カード挿入時および排出時に所定の期間にわたり1回だけ駆動しているが、2回以上に亘り間欠的に駆動してもよく、種々の態様が可能である。
[実施形態の効果]
 上述したように、本実施形態においては、以下の効果を得ることができる。
 本実施形態においては、基本的に、インダクタであるコイルLおよびキャパシタCを接続して形成されるLC並列共振回路を有し、このLC並列共振回路により強い磁界を共振エネルギーの保持特性により所定期間継続的に発生するので、妨害磁界の出力を結果的に増大させ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することができる。すなわち、不正行為者が、カードの磁気データを読み取るために、フロントパネルの外部側に、カードリーダのカード挿入口に、スキミング用磁気ヘッドと磁気読み取り回路を含むいわゆるスキミング用磁気ヘッド装置(スキマー)60を取り付けていたとしても、強い磁界を発生することが可能で、妨害磁界の出力を増大させ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することができる。
 また、本実施形態によれば、磁界発生装置50Bにおいて、共振部511Bの第1のノードND52に放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1を接続して共振エネルギーの放出経路(放電経路、逃げ道)を確保している。また、磁界発生装置50Bにおいては、駆動電源部521Bの電源電圧VCCの共振部511Bへの供給ラインに妨害磁界発生停止時に電源電圧VCCの共振部511Bの第1のノードND52への供給を停止させる第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2を接続している。その結果、本実施形態によれば、妨害磁界の出力を増大、継続させることが可能となることはもとより、プリヘッド33-2による磁界の誤検知を防止でき、また、シャッターの開閉制御を応答性良く行うことができ、ひいては素早くカードを挿入した場合であっても、カードがシャッターにぶつかる(衝突する)といった事象の発生を抑止することができる。
 磁界発生装置50Bは、共振部511Bの共振を停止して共振エネルギーを開放させる場合、駆動電源部521Bの第2のスイッチング素子SW51としてのトランジスタTR2を非導通状態(OFF状態)にして駆動電圧VCCの供給を停止してから、放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1を導通状態(ON状態)にして共振エネルギーを開放するように構成される。その結果、効率良く共振エネルギーの放出(放電)を行うことができる。
 また、本第2の実施形態の磁界発生装置50Bは、磁界発生開始(再開)時には、放電用の第1のスイッチング素子DSW52としてのトランジスタTR1を非導通状態に切り替えた後、第2のスイッチング素子SW55としてのトランジスタTR2を導通状態に切り替えるように構成される。その結果、効率良く磁界発生を開始または再開させることができる。
 また、本実施形態に係る磁界発生装置によれば、不正行為者が、カードの磁気データを読み取るために、フロントパネルの外部側に、カードリーダのカード挿入口に、スキミング用磁気ヘッドと磁気読み取り回路を含むいわゆるスキマーを取り付けていたとしても、磁界を発生することが可能で、妨害磁界の出力を増大、継続させ、磁気データの不正取得を確実に防止することができる。また、本実施形態では、妨害磁界の発生磁気を、カードの挿入時および排出時としているので、磁気遮蔽板等を設けなくとも、内部の記録・再生用の磁気ヘッドによる動作が阻害されることがない。

Claims (15)

  1.  挿入口から挿入または排出するカード状磁気記録媒体を検知する検出機構部と、
     カード状の前記磁気記録媒体上に形成された磁気ストライプに摺動して磁気データを読み取るプリヘッドと、
     前記検出機構部の検出結果に応じて開閉されるシャッターと、
     カード状磁気記録媒体上に記録されている磁気情報を処理するカード処理部と、
     共振部により磁界を発生する磁界発生部および当該磁界発生部を駆動制御する駆動制御回路を含む磁気発生装置と、を有し、
     前記磁気発生装置の前記駆動制御回路は、駆動電圧を供給する駆動電源部と、基準電位部と、前記共振部を駆動する共振駆動部と、を含み、
     前記共振部は、第1のノードと第2のノードとの間にインダクタおよびキャパシタが接続された共振回路を含み、前記第1のノードに前記駆動電圧を受け、前記第2のノードが基準電位部に接続された状態で共振して磁界を発生し、
     前記共振駆動部は、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との間に接続され、制御信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える駆動スイッチング素子を含むことを特徴とする磁気記録媒体処理装置。
  2.  前記駆動制御回路は、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との間に接続され、磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第1のスイッチング素子を含む放電駆動部を有し、
     磁界発生停止時には、前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項1記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置。
  3.  前記駆動制御回路は、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との間に接続され、第1の磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第1のスイッチング素子を含む放電駆動部を有し、
     前記駆動電源部は、前記駆動電圧の供給源と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの間に接続され、第2の磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記駆動電圧の供給部と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第2のスイッチング素子を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置。
  4.  前記駆動制御回路は、磁界発生停止時には、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替えた後、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項3記載の磁界発生装置。
  5.  前記駆動制御回路は、磁界発生開始時には、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替えた後、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項3または4記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置。
  6.  前記共振駆動部は、前記制御信号に応じて、前記共振部の第2のノードと前記基準電位部との接続状態および非接続状態が周期的および/または非周期的に切り替えられることにより、共振が周期的および/または非周期的に誘起されて、磁界を周期的および/または非周期的に発生するように前記共振部を駆動することを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか一に記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置。
  7.  前記検出機構部の検出結果および前記プリヘッドの検出情報に応じて前記磁界発生装置を駆動制御する制御部を有し、
     前記制御部は、前記検出機構部で記録媒体が検出されると、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を停止させ、前記プリヘッドで磁気情報が検出された後、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を開始させることを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか一に記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置。
  8.  前記制御部は、前記プリヘッドで磁気情報が検出され、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を開始させた後、前記シャッターを開いて前記磁気記録媒体を取り込ませることを特徴とする請求項7記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置。
  9.  挿入口から挿入または排出するカード状磁気記録媒体を検知する検出機構部と、
     カード状の前記磁気記録媒体上に形成された磁気ストライプに摺動して磁気データを読み取るプリヘッドと、
     前記検出機構部の検出結果に応じて開閉されるシャッターと、
     カード状磁気記録媒体上に記録されている磁気情報を処理するカード処理部と、
     第1のノードと第2のノードとの間にインダクタおよびキャパシタが接続された共振回路を含む共振部により磁界を発生する磁界発生部および当該磁界発生部を駆動制御する駆動制御回路を含む磁気発生装置と、を有し、
     前記磁気発生装置の前記駆動制御回路は、駆動電圧を供給する駆動電源部と、基準電位部と、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との間に接続され、制御信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第2のノードと前記基準電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える駆動スイッチング素子を含む共振駆動部と、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との間に接続され、磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記共振部の前記第1のノードと放電用電位部との接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第1のスイッチング素子を含む放電駆動部と、を含み、
     磁気記録媒体処理装置において磁界発生停止を制御する際に、磁界発生停止時には、前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替えることを特徴とする磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法。
  10.  前記駆動電源部が、前記駆動電圧の供給源と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの間に接続され、第2の磁界発生停止信号に応じて導通状態と非導通状態が切り替えられ、前記駆動電圧の供給部と前記共振部の前記第1のノードとの接続状態、非接続状態を切り替える第2のスイッチング素子を含み、
     磁気記録媒体処理装置において磁界発生停止を制御する際に、磁界発生時には、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替え、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替え、磁界発生停止時には、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替え、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項9記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法。
  11.  磁界発生停止時には、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替えた後、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項10記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法。
  12.  磁界発生開始時には、前記放電駆動部の前記第1のスイッチング素子を非導通状態に切り替えた後、前記駆動電源部の前記第2のスイッチング素子を導通状態に切り替えることを特徴とする請求項10または11記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法。
  13.  前記制御信号に応じて、前記共振部の第2のノードと前記基準電位部との接続状態および非接続状態が周期的および/または非周期的に切り替えられることにより、共振が周期的および/または非周期的に誘起されて、磁界を周期的および/または非周期的に発生するように前記共振部を駆動することを特徴とする請求項9から12のいずれか一に記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法。
  14.  前記検出機構部の検出結果および前記プリヘッドの検出情報に応じて前記磁界発生装置を駆動制御し、
     前記磁界発生装置の駆動制御に際し、前記検出機構部で記録媒体が検出されると、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を停止させ、前記プリヘッドで磁気情報が検出された後、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を開始させることを特徴とする請求項9から13のいずれか一に記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法。
  15.  前記プリヘッドで磁気情報が検出され、前記磁界発生装置の磁界発生を開始させた後、前記シャッターを開いて前記磁気記録媒体を取り込ませることを特徴とする請求項14記載の磁気記録媒体処理装置の制御方法。
