Definitions
- the present invention relates to a powder spray dispenser of a two-way air flow (powder injection) and a powder injector comprising the same.
- Bleeding management during surgery is very important. Blood loss can cause countless problems in the patient, while the presence of blood in undesirable locations can be detrimental to normal tissue or compromise the physician's ability to see the surgical site. Such bleeding can also be a problem during minimally invasive surgery (eg, laparoscopic surgery).
- Gastrointestinal bleeding is a clinical disease commonly encountered in the clinic. More than 80% of gastrointestinal bleeding occurs in the upper gastrointestinal tract. It is a disease. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is confirmed by more than 90% bleeding lesions by endoscopy, 40-50% is known to be due to bleeding gastric or duodenal ulcer.
- hemostasis using endoscopy is gradually used to treat such bleeding during surgery, bleeding from gastrointestinal tract, and bleeding during collection of body tissue for biopsy.
- hemostasis is performed by approaching an endoscope inserted catheter (catheter) into a mucosal injury site that requires hemostasis, and then administering and spraying a powdered hemostatic agent through the catheter.
- Medical powder injectors have been developed for this purpose.
- One of the medical powder injectors is operated in such a manner as to apply the hemostatic agent to a tube provided in the injector, and then supply compressed air to the tube to inject and apply the hemostatic agent to the affected part in the same principle as the spray for coating.
- such a powder injector may not obtain an effective therapeutic effect if the amount of the drug loaded in the tube is too small, whereas if the amount of the drug is too large, the tube is clogged and does not spray.
- An acid branch that improves such a powder injector is disclosed in Korean Patent Registration No. 10-0329333.
- the acidic branch is operated by mounting the medication container upside down on the top of the device and then supplying air into the medication container such that the air drawn into the medication container disturbs the medication in the medication container and is discharged with the medication to the outlet.
- the acid branch is less clogged in the conduit and improves the spraying power, but the air moved to the chemical container discharges the powdered medicine out of the chemical container and the conduit. It is difficult to obtain satisfactory injection force improvement in that it is a one-way air flow that causes the injection through.
- the powder injector when used, moisture may flow back into the medical conduit inserted into the body because of the presence of moisture, such as body fluid, which may cause the hygroscopic powder to become entangled with each other and cause clogging of the conduit. And, once the water entering the conduit has a problem that is difficult to remove due to the surface tension, the conventional powder injector including the acid branch does not have the technical means for this.
- the present inventors have developed a two-way air flow which improves the clogging of the conduit caused by the powder entanglement and the water backflow into the conduit, which occurs when the powdered drug is injected into the body through the medical conduit.
- a powder spray dispenser and a powder sprayer including the same have been developed.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide a powder injector including the powder spray dispenser.
