본 발명은 화학식 1로 표시되는 변성제, 이를 결합시킨 변성 공역디엔계 중합체, 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다.

Description

변성 공역디엔계 중합체, 이를 포함하는 변성 고무 조성물 및 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법
본 출원은 2014년 12월 11일자 한국 특허 출원 제10-2014-0178302호 및 2015년 10월 14일자 한국 특허 출원 제10-2015-0143460호에 기초한 우선권의 이익을 주장하며, 해당 한국 특허 출원의 문헌에 개시된 모든 내용은 본 명세서의 일부로서 포함된다.
본 발명은 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 우수한 구름 저항 특성을 갖는 것과 동시에, 인장강도, 내마모성, 젖은 노면 저항성을 갖는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법, 이를 이용하여 제조한 변성 공역디엔계 중합체, 및 이를 포함하는 고무 조성물에 관한 것이다.
최근의 자동차 산업계의 동향을 살펴보면, 내구성과 안정성 및 연료 절감에 대한 필요성이 끊임없이 요구되고 있으며 그러한 수요를 충족시키고자 하는 노력이 계속 진행되고 있다.
특히, 자동차용 타이어, 특히 지면과 접하는 타이어 트래드의 재료인 고무의 물성을 보강하기 위한 여러 시도가 있어 왔다. 자동차 타이어용 고무 조성물로는 폴리부타디엔이나 부타디엔-스티렌공중합체 등의 공역디엔계 중합체 등을 함유하는 고무 조성물이 이용되고 있다.
현재 자동차 타이어의 성능을 개선하기 위해 공역디엔계 고무 조성물에 여러 보강재 등을 배합하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 구체적으로, 높아지고 있는 자동차에 대한 안정성, 내구성 및 저연비화의 요구에 따라, 자동차용 타이어, 특히 지면과 접하는 타이어 트레드의 재료로서, 젖은 노면 저항성 및 기계적 강도가 뛰어나면서도, 구름 저항 (rolling resistance)이 낮은 고무의 개발에 대한 연구가 진행되고 있다.
이를 위하여, 예를 들어, 일본 공개특허 2013-139491호에서, 저연비성 및 웨트 그립 기능이 개선된 고무 조성물에 대한 연구가 진행되었으나, 그 효과가 충분하지 않은 실정이다.
상기와 같은 종래기술의 문제점을 해결하기 위해, 본 발명은 우수한 구름 저항 특성을 가질 뿐만 아니라, 인장강도, 내마모성, 젖은 노면 저항성을 갖는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
상기 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 발명은 a) 유기 알칼리 금속 화합물의 존재 하에 탄화수소 용매 중에서 공역디엔계 단량체 또는 공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 중합시켜 알칼리 금속 말단을 갖는 활성 중합체를 형성하는 단계; 및 b) 상기 알칼리 금속 말단을 갖는 활성 중합체를 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 화합물과 커플링 또는 결합시켜 하기 화학식 2로 표시되는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체를 제조하는 단계를 포함하는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법을 제공한다:

본 발명에 따르면, 우수한 구름 저항 특성을 갖는 것과 동시에, 인장강도, 내마모성, 젖은 노면 저항성을 갖는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체를 제조하여 타이어용 고무 조성물에 이용할 수 있다.
이하 본 발명을 상세하게 설명한다.
본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법은 a) 유기 알칼리 금속 화합물의 존재 하에 탄화수소 용매 중에서 공역디엔계 단량체 또는 공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 중합시켜 알칼리 금속 말단을 갖는 활성 중합체를 형성하는 단계; 및 b) 상기 알칼리 금속 말단을 갖는 활성 중합체를 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 화합물과 커플링 또는 결합시켜 하기 화학식 2로 표시되는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체를 제조하는 단계를 포함한다.

상기 유기 알칼리 금속 화합물은 음이온 중합 개시제로서 유기리튬 화합물인 것이 바람직하다.
상기 유기 리튬은 메틸리튬, 에틸리튬, 이소프로필리튬, n-부틸리튬, sec-부틸리튬, tert-부틸리튬, n-데실리튬, tert-옥틸리튬, 페닐리튬, 1-나프틸리튬, n-에이코실리튬, 4-부틸페닐리튬, 4-톨릴리튬, 사이클로헥실리튬, 3,5-디-n-헵텔사이클로헥실리튬 및 4-사이클로펜틸리튬으로 이루어진 군으로부터 1종 선택된 1종이상일 수 있다.
상기 유기 알칼리 금속 화합물은 일례로 단량체 총 100g에 대하여 0.01 내지 10mmol, 0.05 내지 5mmol, 0.3 내지 5mmol, 0.1 내지 2mmol, 또는 0.15 내지 0.8mmol일 수 있다.
상기 유기 알칼리 금속 화합물과 상기 화학식 1로 표시되는 화합물, 또는 상기 화학식 2로 표시되는 화합물 또는 중합체의 몰비는 일례로 1:0.1 내지 1:10, 또는 1:0.5 내지 1:2이다.
본 발명에서 공역디엔계 단량체는 1,3-부타디엔, 2,3-디메틸-1,3-부타디엔, 피페릴렌, 3-부틸-1,3-옥타디엔, 이소프렌 및 2-페닐-1,3-부타디엔으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1종 이상일 수 있으나, 반드시 이에 제한되지는 않는다.
상기 공역디엔계 단량체는 공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 합한 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 60 내지 100 중량%를 포함할 수 있으며, 바람직하게는 60 내지 85 중량%를 포함할 수 있으며, 가장 바람직하게는 60 내지 80 중량%를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 공역디엔계 단량체가 공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 합한 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 100 중량%를 포함하는 경우에는 방향족 비닐계 단량체 없이 공역디엔계 단량체만으로 중합 반응을 수행하여 활성 중합체를 형성하는 것을 나타낸다.
본 발명에서 방향족 비닐계 단량체는 일례로 스티렌, α-메틸스티렌, 3-메틸스티렌, 4-메틸스티렌, 4-프로필스티렌, 1-비닐나프탈렌, 4-사이클로헥실스티렌, 4-(p-메틸페닐)스티렌 및 1-비닐-5-헥실나프탈렌으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1종 이상일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 스티렌 또는 α-메틸스티렌일 수 있다.
상기 방향족 비닐계 단량체는 공액 디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 합한 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 0 내지 40 중량%를 포함할 수 있으며, 바람직하게는 15 내지 40 중량%를 포함할 수 있으며, 가장 바람직하게는 20 내지 40 중량%를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 비닐 방향족 단량체가 공액 디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 합한 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 0 중량%를 포함하는 경우에는 방향족 비닐계 단량체 없이 공역디엔계 단량체만으로 중합 반응을 수행하여 활성 중합체를 형성하는 것을 나타낸다.
상기 고분자에는 소량의 아크릴계, 아민계, 에테르계, 티오에테르계 또는 실란계의 단량체가 포함될 수 있으며, 소량의 단량체는 전체 단량체를 합한 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 0 내지 10 중량%를 포함할 수 있으며, 바람직하게는 0 내지 1중량%를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 탄화수소 용매는 탄화수소, 혹은 n-펜탄, n-헥산, n-헵탄, 이소옥탄, 사이클로헥산, 톨루엔, 벤젠 및 크실렌으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 1종 이상일 수 있으나, 반드시 이에 제한되지는 않는다.
상기 단계 a)의 중합은 일례로 음이온 중합일 수 있다.
또 다른 일례로, 상기 단계 a)의 중합은 음이온에 의한 성장반응에 의해 활성 말단을 얻는 리빙 음이온 중합일 수 있다.
상기 단계 a)의 중합은 일례로 승온 중합 혹은 정온 중합일 수 있다.
상기 승온 중합은 유기금속 화합물을 투입한 이후 임의로 열을 가해 반응 온도를 높이는 단계를 포함하는 중합방법을 의미하고, 상기 정온 중합은 유기금속 화합물을 투입한 이후 임의로 열을 가하지 않는 중합방법을 의미한다.
상기 단계 a)의 중합 온도는 일례로 -20 내지 200℃, 바람직하게는 0℃ 내지 150℃, 보다 바람직하게는 10 내지 120℃이다.
상기 알칼리 금속 말단을 갖는 활성 중합체는 중합체 음이온과 알칼리 금속 양이온이 결합된 중합체를 의미한다.
본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법은 일례로 상기 a)의 중합 시 극성첨가제를 더 첨가하여 중합시키는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 극성첨가제는 일례로 염기이고, 또 다른 일례로 에테르, 아민 또는 이들의 혼합이거나, 테트라히드로퓨란, 디테트라히드로프릴프로판, 디에틸에테르, 시클로아말에테르, 디프로필에테르, 에틸렌디메틸에테르, 에틸렌디메틸에테르, 디에틸렌글리콜, 디메틸에테르, 3차 부톡시에톡시에탄 비스(2-디메틸아미노에틸)에테르, (디메틸아미노에틸) 에틸에테르, 트리메틸아민, 트리에틸아민, 트리프로필아민, 및 테트라메틸에틸렌디아민으로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택된 것이며, 바람직하게는 디테트라히드로프로필프로판, 트리에틸아민 또는 테트라메틸에틸렌디아민이다.
상기 극성첨가제는 일례로, 투입되는 단량체 총 100 g을 기준으로 0.001 내지 50 g, 바람직하게는 0.001 내지 10 g, 보다 바람직하게는 0.005 내지 1 g으로 사용될 수 있다.
또 다른 일례로, 상기 극성첨가제는 투입되는 유기 알칼리 금속 화합물 총 1 mmol을 기준으로 0.001 내지 10 g, 바람직하게는 0.005 내지 1 g, 보다 바람직하게는 0.005 내지 0.1 g으로 사용될 수 있다.
공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 공중합시키는 경우 이들의 반응 속도 차이로 인해 대체로 블록 공중합체가 제조되기 쉬우나, 상기 극성첨가제를 첨가하는 경우 반응 속도가 느린 비닐 방향족 화합물의 반응 속도를 증가시켜 이에 상응하는 공중합체의 미세구조, 예를 들어 랜덤 공중합체를 유도하는 효과가 있다.
상기 단계 a)의 알칼리 금속 말단을 갖는 활성 중합체는 단계 b)에서 하기 화학식 1로 표시되는 화합물과 커플링 또는 결합한다.

상기 공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체로 이루어진 사슬은, 공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 합한 총 100 중량%를 기준으로 방향족 비닐계 단량체 0.0001 내지 40 중량%, 바람직하게는 10 내지 35 중량% 보다 바람직하게는 20 내지 30 중량%를 포함하여 이루어진 폴리머 사슬일 수 있다.
상기 공역디엔계 단량체와 방향족 비닐계 단량체로 이루어진 폴리머 사슬은 일례로 랜덤 폴리머 사슬일 수 있다.
상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체는 무니점도가 20 이상, 바람직하게는 20 내지 150, 보다 바람직하게는 40 내지 100일 수 있다.
상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체는 일례로 수평균분자량이 1,000 내지 10,000,000 g/mol, 바람직하게는 10,000 내지 1,000,000 g/mol, 보다 바람직하게는 100,000 내지 500,000 g/mol 일 수 있다.
상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체는 일례로 비닐 함량이 10% 이상, 바람직하게는 25 % 이상, 보다 바람직하게는 30 내지 70 %일 수 있고, 이 범위 내에서 중합체의 유리전이온도가 상승되어 타이어에 적용시 주행저항 및 제동력과 같은 타이어에 요구되는 물성을 만족시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 연료소모를 줄이는 효과가 있다.
이때 비닐 함량은 비닐기를 갖는 단위체의 함량, 혹은 공역디엔계 단량체 100 중량%에 대하여 1,4-첨가가 아닌 1,2-첨가된 공역디엔계 단량체의 함량을 의미한다.
상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체는 일례로 PDI가 1 내지 10, 바람직하게는 1 내지 5, 보다 바람직하게는 1 내지 3일 수 있다.
상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체는 점탄성의 특징에 있어서, 실리카 배합 후 DMA를 통하여 10 Hz로 측정하는 경우, 0℃에서의 Tanδ값 (Tanδ at 0℃)은 0.6 내지 1, 또는 0.9 내지 1이고, 이 범위 내에서 종래 발명에 비해 노면 저항 또는 습윤 저항이 크게 향상되는 효과가 있다.
또한, 60℃에서의 Tanδ값 (Tanδ at 60℃)은 일례로 0.06 내지 0.09, 또는 0.07 내지 0.08일 수 있고, 이 범위 내에서 종래 발명에 비하여 구름저항 또는 회전저항(RR)이 크게 향상되는 효과를 보인다.

상기 무기 충진제는 일례로 10 내지 150 중량부, 혹은 50 내지 100 중량부일 수 있다.
상기 무기 충진제는 일례로 카본블랙, 실리카계 충진제 또는 이들의 혼합일 수 있다.
또 다른 일례로, 상기 무기 충진제는 실리카일 수 있는데, 이 경우 분산성이 크게 개선되고, 또한 실리카 입자가 본 기재의 변성 공액 디엔계 중합체의 말단과 결합(밀봉)함으로써 히스테리시스 손실이 크게 감소되는 효과가 있다.
상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물은 일례로 다른 공역디엔계 중합체를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 다른 공역디엔계 중합체는 일례로 SBR(styrene-butadiene rubber), BR(butadiene rubber), 천연고무 또는 이들의 혼합일 수 있다.
상기 SBR은 일례로 SSBR(solution styrene-butadiene rubber)일 수 있다.
본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물은 일례로 상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 20 내지 100 중량부 및 이와 다른 공역디엔계 중합체 0 내지 80 중량부를 포함하여 이루어진 것일 수 있다.
또 다른 일례로, 본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물은 상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 20 내지 99 중량부 및 이와 다른 공역디엔계 중합체 1 내지 80 중량부를 포함하는 것일 수 있다.
또 다른 일례로, 본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물은 상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 10 내지 100 중량부, 이와 다른 공역디엔계 중합체 0 내지 90 중량부, 카본블랙 0 내지 100중량부, 실리카 5 내지 200 중량부 및 실란 커플링제 2 내지 20 중량부를 포함하는 것일 수 있다.
또 다른 일례로, 본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물은 상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 10 내지 100 중량부, 이와 다른 공역디엔계 중합체 0 내지 90 중량부, 카본블랙 0 내지 100중량부, 실리카 5 내지 200 중량부 및 실란 커플링제 2 내지 20 중량부를 포함하되, 상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 및 이와 다른 공역디엔계 중합체의 중량의 합은 100 중량부인 것일 수 있다.
또 다른 일례로, 본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물은 상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 10 내지 99 중량%와 이와 다른 공역디엔계 중합체 1 내지 90 중량%로 이루어진 중합체 혼합물 100 중량부에, 카본블랙 1 내지 100중량부, 실리카 5 내지 200 중량부 및 실란 커플링제 2 내지 20 중량부를 포함하는 것일 수 있다.
상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물은 일례로 오일 1 내지 100 중량부를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 오일은 일례로 광물유나 연화제 등일 수 있다.
상기 오일은 일례로 공역디엔계 중합체 100 중량부에 대하여 10 내지 100 중량부 혹은 20 내지 80 중량부로 사용될 수 있고, 이 범위 내에서 물성 발현이 잘되며, 또한 고무 조성물을 적당히 연화시켜 가공성이 우수한 효과가 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물을 포함하는 타이어 또는 타이어 트레드를 제공한다.
상기 타이어 또는 타이어 트레드는 무기 충진제와의 상용성이 우수하고, 가공성이 개선된 변성 공액 디엔계 중합체를 포함하는 고무 조성물을 이용하여 제조됨으로써, 인장강도, 내마모성, 및 젖은 노면 저항성 등이 뛰어나면서도 구름 저항이 낮은 장점이 있다.
이하 본 발명의 이해를 돕기 위하여 바람직한 실시예를 제시하나, 하기 실시예는 본 발명을 예시하는 것일 뿐 본 발명의 범주 및 기술사상 범위 내에서 다양한 변경 및 수정이 가능함은 당업자에게 있어서 명백한 것이며, 이러한 변경 및 수정이 첨부된 특허청구범위에 속하는 것도 당연한 것이다.
실시예
실시예 1
각각 8L, 8L, 16L, 16L의 오토클레이브 반응기 4개가 직렬로 연결된 연속 반응기의 첫 번째 반응기에, 각각, 60 wt%의 스티렌 용액 344 g/h, 60wt%의 1,3-부타디엔 용액 860 g/h, 노말헥산 3550 g/h, 극성첨가제로 3wt%의 에틸 테트라하이드로퍼퓨릴) 에테르 용액을 33.7 g/h, 개시제로 1wt%의 노말부틸리튬 용액을 36.0 g/h 의 속도로 주입하였다. 이 때 첫 번째 반응기의 온도는 55℃가 되도록 유지하였으며, 체류 시간은 10분이 되도록 하였다. 첫 번째 반응기에서 두 번째 반응기로의 중합물 이송은 기어펌프를 이용하였고, 두 번째 반응기에서의 온도는 58℃, 체류 시간은 10분이 되도록 하였다. 두 번째 반응기에서 세 번째 반응기로의 중합물 이송은 기어 펌프를 이용하였고, 이 때 60 wt%의 1,3-부타디엔 용액을 45.3g/h의 속도로 추가 주입하였다. 세 번째 반응기의 온도는 70℃가 되도록 유지하였으며, 체류 시간은 40분이 되도록 하였다. 세 번째 반응기에서 네번째 반응기로의 중합물 이송은 기어 펌프를 이용하였고, 이 때 변성제로서 N,N'-비스(3-트리옥사아자실라비싸이클로운데실프로필)피페라진을 노말헥산에 3 wt%로 희석한 용액을 25.0 g/h의 속도로 주입하였다. 네 번째 반응기의 온도는 65℃가 되도록 유지하였으며, 체류 시간은 30분이 되도록 하였다. 네 번째 반응기에서 나오는 중합 용액에 중합 중지제인 윙스테이의 20 wt% 노말헥산 용액을 18.8 g/h의 속도로 주입하여 중합 반응을 정지시켰다. 상기 중합물을 스팀으로 가열된 온수에 넣고 교반하여 용매를 제거한 다음 롤 건조하여 잔량의 용매와 물을 제거하여, 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 (A)를 제조하였다.
실시예 2
변성제로서, N,N'-비스(3-트리옥사아자실라비싸이클로운데실프로필) 피페라진 3 wt% 노말헥산 용액을 38.8 g/h의 속도로 주입한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1과 같은 방법으로, 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 (B)를 제조하였다.
실시예 3
변성제로서, N(3-트리옥사아자실라비싸이클로운데실프로필) N`-프로필피페라진 3 wt% 노말헥산 용액을 15.0 g/h의 속도로 주입한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1과 같은 방법으로, 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 (C)를 제조하였다.
실시예 4
변성제로서, N(3-트리옥사아자실라비싸이클로운데실프로필) N`-프로필피페라진 3 wt% 노말헥산 용액을 30.0 g/h의 속도로 주입한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1과 같은 방법으로, 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 (D)를 제조하였다.
비교예 1
변성제 대신에, 테트라클로로실란을 노말헥산에 0.5 wt%로 희석하여 25.5g/h의 속도로 주입한 것을 제외하고는 실시예 1과 같은 방법으로, 미변성 공역디엔계 중합체 (E)를 제조하였다.
비교예 2
각각 8L, 8L, 16L, 세 개의 오토클레이브 반응기가 직렬로 연결된 연속 반응기를 사용하여 첫 번째 반응기에, 각각, 60 wt%의 스티렌 용액 344 g/h, 60 wt%의 1,3-부타디엔 용액 860 g/h, 노말헥산 3550 g/h, 극성첨가제로 3wt%의 에틸 테트라하이드로퍼퓨릴) 에테르 용액을 31.5 g/h, 개시제로 1wt%의 노말부틸리튬 용액을 29.3 g/h 의 속도로 주입하였다. 이 때 첫 번째 반응기의 온도는 55℃가 되도록 유지하였으며, 체류 시간은 10분이 되도록 하였다. 첫 번째 반응기에서 두 번째 반응기로의 중합물 이송은 기어펌프를 이용하였고, 두 번째 반응기에서의 온도는 58℃, 체류 시간은 10분이 되도록 하였다. 두 번째 반응기에서 세 번째 반응기로의 중합물 이송은 기어 펌프를 이용하였고, 이 때 60 wt%의 1,3-부타디엔 용액을 45.3g/h의 속도로 추가 주입하였다. 두 번째 반응기의 온도는 70℃가 되도록 유지하였으며, 체류 시간은 40분이 되도록 하였다. 세 번째 반응기에서 나오는 중합 용액에 중합 중지제인 윙스테이 용액을 주입하여 중합 반응을 정지시켰다. 상기 중합물을 스팀으로 가열된 온수에 넣고 교반하여 용매를 제거한 다음 롤 건조하여 잔량의 용매와 물을 제거하여, 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 (F)를 제조하였다.
상기 실시예 1 내지 4 및 비교예 1 내지 2에서 제조된 공역디엔계 중합체의 분석은 하기의 방법으로 측정하여, 표 1에 나타내었다.
ㄱ) 무니점도: ALPHA Technologies사의 MV-2000을 이용하여 시편 무게 15g 이상 2개를 이용하여 1분 동안 예열한 후 100℃에서 4분 동안 측정하였다.
ㄴ) 스티렌 모노머 (SM) 및 비닐(Vinyl) 함량: NMR을 이용하여 측정하였다.
ㄷ) 중량평균분자량(Mw), 수평균분자량(Mn) 및 분자량분포도(PDI):
40℃ 조건하에서 GPC 분석으로 측정하였다. 이때 컬럼(Column)은 Polymer Laboratories사의 PLgel Olexis 컬럼 두 자루와 PLgel mixed-C 컬럼 한 자루를 조합하였고, 새로 교체한 컬럼은 모두 mixed bed 타입의 컬럼을 사용하였다.
또한, 분자량 계산시 GPC 기준물질(Standard material)로서 PS(Polystyrene)를 사용하였다.

제조예 1 - 6: 고무 조성물의 제조
상기 표 1에 나타낸 시료 A 내지 F를 원료 고무로 하여, 각각 하기 표 2에 나타낸 배합 조건으로 배합하여 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물을 제조하였다.

상기 공역디엔계 중합체의 고무 조성물의 혼련방법으로는 온도제어장치를 부속한 반바리 믹서를 사용하여 제 1단의 혼련에서는 80rpm의 조건으로 원료고무(공역디엔계 중합체), 충진제, 유기실란 커플링제, 오일, 아연화, 스테아르산 산화방지제, 노화방지제, 왁스 및 촉진제를 혼련하였다. 이때 혼련기의 온도를 제어하고, 140 내지 150℃의 배출온도에서 1차 배합물을 얻었다. 제 2단의 혼련으로서 1차 배합물을 실온까지 냉각한 후 혼련기에 고무, 황 및 가황촉진제를 가하고, 45 내지 60℃의 배출온도에서 2차 배합물을 얻었다. 제 3단의 혼련으로서 2차 배합물을 성형하고, 180℃에서 T90+10분간 가황프레스로 가황하여 가황 고무를 제조하였다.
각 제조된 가황 고무의 물성은 이하의 방법으로 측정하였다.
1) 무니점도: ALPHA Technologies사의 MV-2000을 이용하여 시편 무게 15g 이상 2개를 이용하여 1분 동안 예열한 후 100℃에서 4분 동안 측정하였다.
2) Payne 효과: ALPHA Technologies사의 RPA 2000을 이용하여 시편 무게 7g 이상을 이용하여, 60℃에서 1 Hz의 속도로 0.04~40.0% strain swip으로 측정하였다.
3) 인장실험
ASTM 412의 인장시험법에 의해 시험편의 절단시의 인장강도 및 300% 신장시의 인장응력(300% 모듈러스)을 측정하였다.
4) 구름저항성(RR) 및 제동성(wet grip)
고무의 구름저항성(RR)과 제동성(wet grip)은 DMTS(Dynamic mechanical thermal spectrometry; GABO, EPLEXOR 500N)를 사용하여 측정하였다. 측정 시 시험 조건은 Frequency: 10Hz, Strain(Static strain: 3%, Dynamic strain: 0.25%), Temperature: -60 ~70℃로 하였다. 이 때 구름저항성은 60℃에서 측정된 Tan δ값이 낮을수록 좋으며, 제동성은 0℃에서 측정된 Tan δ값이 높을수록 좋다. 이 값을 제조예 5의 값을 100으로 기준하여 index 로 비교하였으며, index 값이 커질수록 우수함을 나타낸다.

상기 표 3의 결과에서, 본 발명에 따른 제조예 1-4의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 고무 조성물들은 제조예 5,6의 미변성 공역디엔계 고무 조성물들에 비해서 300% 모듈러스(인장응력), 인장강도에서 동등 이상의 수치를 보였다.
특히 0℃에서의 Tan δ는 6~12% 향상되었으며, 60℃에서의 Tan δ는 16~20% 향상된 것으로 나타나 타이어에 본 발명의 변성 공역디엔계 중합체가 포함되는 경우 젖은 노면에서의 저항성이 높으면서도 구름 저항은 적은 타이어를 제조할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편 N,N'-비스(3-트리옥사아자실라비싸이클로운데실프로필) 피페라진을 이용한 변성공역디엔계 중합체 A, B를 이용한 제조예 1,2의 경우 N(3-트리옥사아자실라비싸이클로운데실프로필) N`-프로필 피페라진을 이용한 변성 공역디엔계 중합체 C, D를 이용한 것에 근소하게 우세하였으며, 변성제의 비율을 높인 방향으로 구름저항성 및 제동성이 높아지는 것으로 나타났으나, 미변성 공역디엔계 중합체를 사용한 것에 비하면 모든 경우에서 변성 공역디엔계 중합체를 사용한 제품의 성능이 우세하였다.

  1. 하기 화학식 2로 표시되는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체:

  8. 청구항 3에 있어서, 상기 단계 a)의 중합은, 극성첨가제가 더 투입되는 것을 특징으로 하는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법.
  9. 청구항 8에 있어서, 상기 극성첨가제는, 상기 화학식 1로 표시되는 화합물 총 1 mmol을 기준으로 0.001 내지 50 g으로 투입되는 것을 특징으로 하는 변성 공역디엔계 중합체의 제조방법.
