A customized water pump with at least one separator placed between cooling circuit and rotor which blocks all the coolant to enter into rotor area; and at least one rotary shaft seal used between rotating and stationary components or between two components in relative motion.

Description

A WATER PUMP WITH SEPARATOR AND SEAL TO PROTECT ROTOR
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention provides customized water pump with separator and seal to protect the rotor against foreign particles from cooling circuit. More specifically, the invention provides customized water pump with at least one separator placed between cooling circuit and rotor which blocks all the foreign particles specially iron particles to enter into rotor area; and at least one rotary shaft seal used between rotating and stationary components or between two components in relative motion. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The water pump in a motor vehicle, pumps coolant through a coolant circuit of an internal combustion engine, having a pump housing, a rotatably mounted in the pump housing the impeller, flow channels in the pump housing for the coolant, and at least one is mounted in the pump housing, axially displaceable pot for adjusting the output of the pump.
The coolant that gathers between the impeller blades travels outward using centrifugal force, and suction draws the coolant into the water pump from the radiator.
The water pump installed in a motor vehicle pushes coolant through the engine block to convectively draw the engine heat away from the system. After the coolant enters the water pump, it goes through the whole engine, where it absorbs the heat that the combustion process produces, and then it goes to the radiator, so the heat can exit to the outside air. US5785013 discloses an electrically driven coolant pump for an internal combustion engine comprising of a centrifugal pump for pumping a coolant, an electrical drive means for driving the pump, said electrical drive means including an electrically commutated brushless D.C. motor, and electronic circuit means connected to the D.C. motor to operate the motor in accordance with signals delivered to said electronic circuit means from an external power source, and a cooling body operatively positioned to cool said electronic circuit means by transferring heat from said electronic circuit means to said coolant, centrifugal pump including a pump housing and said electrical drive means including a motor having a stator with a stator housing, bolt means connecting said pump housing and said stator housing together through said cooling body, said cooling body being connected by said bolt means to said pump housing to be cooled by the coolant pumped by the pump, said electronic circuit means being connected by said bolt means to said cooling body in heat exchange relation therewith. The main drawback of these pumps is that the foreign particles from the cooling circuit flows into the rotor part and causes damage.
One of the most common reasons for the motor vehicle's water pump not working properly is the contamination in the cooling fluid. Fluid contamination often brings abrasive items in contact with the rotor & due to magnet effect it attracted to rotor and increases its outer diameter which leads to damage rotor casing when rotating at high rpm to fail prematurely.
Therefore, there is technological gap wherein measures to protect and prevent abrasive items to come in contact with the rotor, is either inadequate or not at all implemented.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, the main object of the invention is to provide a customized water pump with separator and seal to protect the rotor against foreign particles from the cooling circuit. Yet another object of the invention is to provide customized water pump with a separator placed between cooling circuit and rotor which blocks all the particles to enter into rotor area, preferably made up of non-corrosive durable material such as thermoplastics or any austenitic stainless steel or materials alike.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide customized water pump with at least one rotary shaft seal used between rotating and stationary components or between two components in relative motion. Yet another object of the invention is to provide customized water pump with at least one cylindrical outer covering of sheet steel case that has the requisite interference fit to seal statically against the housing bore.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide customized water pump with at least one sealing lip made of an elastomeric or thermoplastic material that seals dynamically and statically against the rotating shaft.

The present invention provides customized water pump with separator and seal to protect the rotor against foreign particles from cooling circuit. The invention improves the durability and robustness of the product to a great extent by providing a complete sealing of the rotor, shielding it completely from the external particles in working fluid, by the help of the separator & rotary shaft seal. In an embodiment of the present invention the improvement in the water pump includes customized sealing with two major components: l. Separator: A separator is lined between cooling circuit and rotor which blocks all the coolant to enter into rotor area, preferably made up of non-corrosive durable material such as thermoplastics or any austenitic stainless steel or materials alike.
2. Rotary Shaft Seal: Radial shaft seals are used between rotating and stationary components or between two components in relative motion, comprising of two main parts: a) A cylindrical outer covering of sheet steel case that has the requisite interference fit to seal statically against the housing bore; and
b) A sealing lip made of an elastomeric or thermoplastic material that seals dynamically and statically against the rotating shaft.
