- 1 is a graph showing the breakdown electric field of various lithium ion conductive compounds.
- FIG. 2 is a graph showing a minimum coating thickness when forming a coating layer using various lithium ion conductive compounds.
- a method of forming a coating layer on the surface of a cathode active material has been attempted in order to suppress a reaction between a cathode active material for a secondary battery and an electrolyte interface.
- the coating material used in the conventional coating layer formation does not have lithium ion conductivity and does not cover the entire surface of the cathode active material during coating, there is a problem in that the oxidation / reduction reaction between the cathode active material and the electrolyte is not sufficiently suppressed.
- the coating layer acts as a resistance as the thickness is thick, it is necessary to optimize the thickness.
- an encapsulated coating layer in the form of a film covering the entire surface of the active material rather than the grain boundary, contact between the active material and the electrolyte interface can be blocked.
- the coating layer using a compound having lithium ion conductivity, it is possible to enable the movement of lithium ions from the electrolyte solution in the coating layer.
- the greater the band gap and the maximum phonon frequency the larger the electric field (F b ) when the breakdown occurs, so that the thickness of the coating layer for blocking electron transfer can be reduced.
- the maximum phonon cutoff frequency was analyzed to predict the breakdown field, and from this, the minimum coating thickness without the breakdown was determined. Accordingly, the oxidation / reduction reaction at the interface between the positive electrode active material and the electrolyte solution can be suppressed by preventing the electrons from being destroyed by the tunnel effect.

- Equation 2 E g is a band gap and ⁇ max is a maximum phonon frequency.
- the coating layer includes at least one compound having a band gap of 5.5 eV to 10 eV and having lithium ion conductivity.
- the band gap is determined by the crystal structure of the compound. The larger the band gap, the greater the transfer resistance of the electrons, so that the thickness of the coating layer can be reduced. However, if the band gap is too large, the thickness of the coating layer is too thin, which makes it difficult to uniformly coat the active material and the electrolyte, and if the band gap is too small, the coating layer itself is too thick because the thickness of the coating layer is too thick. It can act as a resistance when moving. Accordingly, the lithium ion conductive compound may specifically have a band gap of 5.5 eV to 10 eV, and preferably 5.8 eV to 10 eV in order to block movement of electrons to a minimum thickness without deteriorating lithium ion mobility. More preferably, it may have a band gap of 6eV to 10eV.
- the band gap is optimized by the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) method (DFT-GGA (PBEsol)) based on density-functional theory (DFT). It can then be calculated using a band gap measurement program, specifically GW or HSE06 (Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof).

X=V/Fb

aSb(이때, a 및 b는 각각 독립적으로 1 이상의 정수이고, X1는 Ge, Zn 및 Ga 로 이루어진 군에서 선택되는 어느 하나임), Li2S-GeS2, Li2S-SiS2-Li3PO4, 또는 Li2S-SiS2-LicX2Od(이때, c 및 d는 각각 독립적으로 1 이상의 정수이고, X2는 P, Si, Ge, B, Al, Ga 및 In로 이루어진 군에서 선택되는 어느 하나임) 등을 들 수 있으며, 이들 중 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물이 사용될 수 있다.

X=V/Fb
