도 1을 참조하면, 배터리 팩(1)은 배터리 셀(100)들, 배터리 셀(100)들의 상부 및 하부에 각각 배치된 제1 및 제2 절연 구조(210, 220), 배터리 셀(100)들의 상부에 배치된 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들의 사이에 개재된 절연층(500), 및 보호회로모듈(620), 및 냉각 부재(700)를 포함할 수 있다.
도 1, 도 2a 및 도 2b를 참조화면, 배터리 셀(100)들은 전극 조립체를 수용하는 캔(110), 캔의 상부를 커버하는 캡 플레이트(120)를 포함할 수 있다. 도시되지는 않았으나, 전극 조립체는 음극판과 양극판, 및 이들 사이에 개재되는 세퍼레이터를 포함하며, 전극 조립체는 예컨대 원통형으로 돌돌 말려 캔(110)의 내부에 수용될 수 있다. 비제한적인 실시예로, 양극판은 코발트산리튬(LiCoO2)의 양극 활물질이 코팅된 알루미늄 포일일 수 있으며, 음극판은 흑연 등의 음극 활물질이 코팅된 구리 포일일 수 있다. 세퍼레이터는 음극판과 양극판 사이에서 이들의 쇼트를 방지하고 리튬 이온의 이동만 가능하게 할 수 있다.
캔(110)은 일측(예컨대, 상측)이 개방된 원통형의 형상일 수 있다. 캔(110)은 도전성 소재, 예컨대 스틸, 스테인레스 스틸, 알루미늄 또는 이의 등가물로 형성 가능하나 본 발명은 이에 제한되지 않는다.
캔(110)의 상부(111)는 캡 플레이트(120)와 결합되어, 캡 플레이트(120)에 의해 밀봉될 수 있으며, 캔(110)의 상부(111)와 캡 플레이트(120) 사이에는 절연성 소재의 가스켓(140)이 개재된다. 캡 플레이트(120)는 도전성 소재, 예컨대 스틸, 스테인레스 스틸, 알루미늄 또는 이의 등가물로 형성 가능하나 본 발명은 이에 제한되지 않는다.
전극 조립체의 음극판 및 양극판 중 어느 하나는 캔(110)과 전기적으로 연결되고, 나머지 하나는 캡 플레이트(120)와 전기적으로 연결된다. 따라서, 캔(110)의 일부, 예컨대 상부(111) 및 캡 플레이트(120)의 일부, 예컨대 상부면(121) 중 하나는 배터리 셀(100)의 음극이고 나머지 하나는 배터리 셀(100)의 양극일 수 있다. 이하에서는, 설명의 편의를 위하여 캔(110) 및 캡 플레이트(120)가 각각 전극 조립체의 음극판과 양극판에 연결된 경우로 설명하며, 따라서 캔(110)의 상부(111)는 음극으로, 캡 플레이트(120)의 상부면(121)은 양극으로 이해될 수 있으나, 본 발명은 이에 한정하지 않는다. 다른 실시예로, 캔(110)의 상부(111)는 양극으로, 캡 플레이트(120)의 상부면(121)은 음극일 수 있음은 물론이다.
캔(110)의 적어도 측면은 절연시트(150)로 커버될 수 있다. 절연시트(150)는 절연성 소재를 갖는 필름으로, 캔(110)의 측면을 커버하거나, 캔(110)의 측면 및 바닥면(캡 플레이트(120)의 반대편)의 전부 또는 일부를 커버할 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 배터리 셀(100)은 전술한 바와 같이 음극(111)과 양극(121)이 동일한 측에 노출된, 즉 배터리 셀(100)의 상측에 노출된 구조를 갖는다. 예컨대, 배터리 셀(100)의 상측면의 중심부에는 양극(121)이 배치되고, 배터리 셀(100)의 상측면의 주변부에는 음극(111)이 배치될 수 있다.
다시 도 1을 참조하면, 배터리 셀(100)들은 제1 및 제2 절연 구조(210, 220) 사이에 측면끼리 나란하도록 배치될 수 있다. 배터리 셀(100)들은, 각각의 배터리 셀(100)의 음극(111)과 양극(121)이 모두 상방을 향하도록 배치된다.
제1 및 제2절연 구조(210, 220)는 각각 배터리 셀(100)들의 상측와 하측에 배치되며, 서로 결합될 수 있다. 제1절연 구조(210)는 배터리 셀(100)들의 상측에 배치되되, 각 배터리 셀(100)의 상측에 배치된 음극(111)과 양극(121)을 노출하는 홀(210h)을 구비한 상부 절연 플레이트(upper insulation plate, 211)를 포함할 수 있다.
제1절연 구조(210)의 측부 절연 플레이트(side insulation plate, 213)는 상부 절연 플레이트(211)에 대하여 절곡되며, 제2절연 구조(220)를 향해 연장된 돌기(213p)를 포함할 수 있다. 돌기(213p)는 제2절연 구조(220)의 측부 절연 플레이트(223)의 홈(223g)에 삽입될 수 있다. 제1절연 구조(210)는 제1도전성 플레이트(300)들 중 양 측에 배치된 제1도전성 플레이트(300)의 개구(300_o)에 삽입되는 돌기(211p)를 포함할 수 있다.
제1도전성 플레이트(300)들 및 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들은 배터리 셀(100)들의 상측, 예컨대 제1절연 구조(210)의 상부 절연 플레이트(211) 상에 배치된다. 제1도전성 플레이트(300)들은 절연층(500) 아래에서, 예컨대 배터리 셀(100)과 절연층(500) 사이에 좌우 방향을 따라 배열될 수 있으며, 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들은 절연층(500) 위에서, 예컨대 절연층(500)과 보호회로모듈(620) 사이에서 좌우 방향을 따라 배열될 수 있다.
제1도전성 플레이트(300)들과 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들은 도 1에서의 좌우 방향을 따라 일부 중첩되도록 오프셋되어 배치될 수 있다. 예컨대, 각 제2도전성 플레이트(400)는, 이웃한 제1도전성 플레이트(300)들과 동시에 중첩하도록 좌우 방향을 따라 오프셋될 수 있다.
제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들은 배터리 셀(100)들을 전기적으로 연결한다. 바꾸어 말하면, 배터리 셀(100)들은 배터리 셀(100)들에 의해 서로 연결될 수 있다. 이를 위해, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들은 도전성 소재, 예컨대 알루미늄, 구리, 니켈, 티타늄 등이나 이들의 합금 등을 포함할 수 있으나, 본 발명은 이에 한정되지 않는다.
제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300)들 각각은, 배터리 셀(100)들 각각의 상측면에 배치된 음극(111)과 양극(121)을 노출하는 홀(300h, 400h)을 포함할 수 있으며, 홀(300h, 400h)에 위치하는 탭들을 포함한다. 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들의 탭들은 배터리 셀(100)들의 음극(111) 또는 양극(121)과 접속하며, 탭들과 배터리 셀(100)들의 접속을 통해 배터리 셀(100)들은 직렬, 및/또는 병렬로 연결될 수 있다. 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들과 배터리 셀(100)들의 전기적 연결은 도 3을 참조하여 후술한다.
절연층(500)은 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들 사이에 개재된다. 절연층(500)은 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들의 탭들 각각이 배터리 셀(100)의 음극(111) 또는 양극(121)에 접속하도록 배터리 셀(100)들 각각의 상측면에 배치된 음극(111)과 양극(121)을 노출하는 홀(500h)을 포함한다.
절연층(500)은 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)가 서로 직접 접촉하는 것을 방지하기 위해, 적어도 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들과 전체적으로 중첩한다. 예컨대, 절연층(500)의 외측 단부는 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들의 외측 단부보다 더 연장되며, 절연층(500)의 홀(500h)에 인접한 절연층(500)의 내측 단부는 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들의 내측 단부 ―제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 홀(400h)에 인접한 내측 단부― 보다 더 연장될 수 있다. 따라서, 절연층(500)의 홀(500h)의 크기는 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 홀(400h)의 크기 보다 작다.
보호회로모듈(620)은 절연시트(610)를 사이에 두고 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들 상에 배치된다. 보호회로모듈(620)은 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들과 중첩되도록 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들의 일부 영역 상에 배치될 수 있다. 보호회로모듈(620)은 배터리 셀(100)들과 전기적으로 연결되어 배터리 셀(100)들의 충방전을 제어하며, 과충전, 과방전 또는 과전류로 인해 발생되는 과열 및 폭발을 방지할 수 있다.
보호회로모듈(620)은 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들과 직접 연결될 수 있다. 보호회로모듈(620)은 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들과 직접 연결되는 접속부(621)를 포함할 수 있다. 일 실시예로, 접속부(621)는 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)의 개수만큼 구비되며, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들 각각과 직접 연결될 수 있다.
보호회로모듈(620) 상부에는 보호 절연체(800)가 더 배치될 수 있으며, 보호 절연체(800)는 보호회로모듈(620)과 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들을 모두 커버하며, 배터리 팩(1)을 외부의 외부의 도전체, 이물질 등으로부터 보호할 수 있다.
냉각 부재(700)는 배터리 셀(100)들의 하부에 배치될 수 있다. 일 실시예로, 냉각 부재(700)는 열전도성 플레이트(710)를 포함할 수 있다. 비제한적인 실시예로, 열전도성 플레이트는 애노다이징된 알루미늄 판일 수 있다.
도 3은 배터리 셀들 및 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트의 전기적 연결을 간략히 나타낸다. 도 3에서의 점선은 전기적 연결을 나타낸다. 도 3에서는 설명의 편의를 위하여 제1도전성 플레이트들은 4개 구비되고, 제2도전성 플레이트들은 3개 구비된 실시예로 설명한다. 예컨대, 도 3에 도시된 바와 같이 제1도전성 플레이트(300)들은 좌우 방향을 따라 순서대로 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A), 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B), 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C), 및 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)를 포함할 수 있다. 그리고, 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들은 좌우 방향을 따라 제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A), 제2-2도전성 플레이트(400B), 및 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400C)를 포함할 수 있다. 이하에서, 별도의 서술이 없는 한, 제1도전성 플레이트(300)는 제1-1 내지 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300A, 300B, 300C, 300D)들 중 어느 하나를, 제2도전성 플레이트(400)는 제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A, 400B, 400C)들을 나타낼 수 있다.
도 3을 참조하면, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들은 배터리 셀(100)들 상부에 배치되며, 일부만 중첩되도록 좌우방향(제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트의 면 방향)을 따라 소정의 거리만큼 오프셋되어 있다. 예컨대, 제2도전성 플레이트(400)들 각각은 이웃한 두 개의 제1도전성 플레이트(300)들과 중첩하도록 오프셋될 수 있다.
일부 실시예에서, 제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A)의 일부는 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)와 중첩하고 나머지 부분은 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)와 중첩한다. 제2-2도전성 플레이트(400B)의 일부는 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)와 중첩하고 나머지 부분은 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)와 중첩한다. 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400C)의 일부는 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)와 중첩하고 나머지 부분은 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)와 중첩한다.
배터리 셀(100)들 중 제1서브-그룹(SG1)의 배터리 셀들(100a), 예컨대 제1-1 및 제2-1도전성 플레이트(300A, 400A)와 중첩하도록 배치된 배터리 셀(100a)들은 제1-1 및 제2-1도전성 플레이트(300A, 400A)와 접속한다. 예컨대, 배터리 셀(100a)들의 음극(111)은 제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A)와 접속하고, 양극(121)은 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)와 접속할 수 있다.

제1-1 내지 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300A 내지 300D) 각각은, 홀(300h)들을 포함한다. 홀(300h)들은 상호 이격되도록 배치되며, 각 홀(300h)은 도 5에 도시된 바와 같이 배터리 셀(100)의 상측면, 예컨떄 음극(111)과 양극(121) 각각을 적어도 일부 노출할 수 있다. 각 홀(300h)에는 탭이 배치된다. 탭은 음극탭(301) 및 양극탭(302)을 포함할 수 있다.
제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)는 홀(300h)들을 포함한다. 도 4에서 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)의 확대된 부분을 참조하면, 각 홀(300h)에는 양극탭(302)이 배치될 수 있다. 양극탭(302)은 홀(300h)에 인접한 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)의 내측 단부(300ei)로부터 홀(300h)을 향해 연장될 수 있다. 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)는 양극탭(302)들만 구비할 수 있으며, 도 5에 도시된 바와 같이 각 양극탭(302)은 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)와 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 양극(112)과 직접 접속될 수 있다. 도 5에서의 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)의 양극탭(302)들과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제1서브-그룹(SG1)의 배터리 셀(100a)들에 대응한다.
제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)는 홀(300h)들을 포함하며, 홀(300h)들 중 일부에는 음극탭(301)이 배치되고, 나머지에는 양극탭(302)이 배치될 수 있다. 도 4에서 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)의 확대된 부분들을 참조하면, 음극탭(301) 및 양극탭(302) 각각은 홀(300h)에 인접한 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)의 내측 단부로부터 홀(300h)을 향해 연장될 수 있다. 도 5에 도시된 바와 같이 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)의 음극탭(301)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 음극(111)과 접속하고, 양극탭(302)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 양극(121)과 접속한다. 도 5에서, 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)의 음극탭(301)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제2서브-그룹(SG2)의 배터리 셀(100b)들에 대응하고, 양극탭(302)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제3서브-그룹(SG3)의 배터리 셀(100c)들에 대응한다.
제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)는 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)와 동일한 구조를 가질 수 있다. 도 4에서 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)의 확대된 부분들을 참조하면, 홀(300h)들을 포함하며, 홀(300h)들 중 일부에는 음극탭(301)이 배치되고, 나머지에는 양극탭(302)이 배치될 수 있다. 도 5에 도시된 바와 같이 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)의 음극탭(301)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 음극(111)과 접속하고, 양극탭(302)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 양극(121)과 접속한다. 도 5에서, 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)의 음극탭(301)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제4서브-그룹(SG4)의 배터리 셀(100d)들에 대응하고, 양극탭(302)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제5서브-그룹(SG5)의 배터리 셀(100d)들에 대응한다.
제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)는 홀(300h)들을 포함한다. 도 4에서 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)의 확대된 부분을 참조하면, 각 홀(300h)에는 음극탭(301)이 배치될 수 있다. 음극탭(301)은 홀(300h)에 인접한 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)의 내측 단부로부터 홀(300h)을 향해 연장될 수 있다. 제1-4전성 플레이트(300D)는 음극탭(301)들만 구비할 수 있으며, 도 5에 도시된 바와 같이 각 음극탭(301)은 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)와 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 음극(111)과 직접 접속될 수 있다. 도 5에서의 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)의 음극탭(301)들과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제6서브-그룹(SG6)의 배터리 셀(100e)들에 대응한다.
제1-1 내지 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300A 내지 300D) 각각은, 보조홀(305h)을 포함할 수 있다. 보조홀(305h)은 제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A 내지 400C)들을 제1절연 구조(210, 도 1참조) 상에서 이동하는 것을 방지하기 위해 사용되는 구조로, 이하 도 12를 참조하여 해당 부분에서 후술한다.
도 6은 제2도전성 플레이트들을 나타낸 평면도이고, 도 7은 도 6의 제2도전성 플레이트 및 배터리 셀들의 접속 상태를 나타낸 평면도이다.
도 6을 참조하면, 제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A 내지 400C)는 좌우 방향을 따라 서로 인접하게 배치된다. 제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A 내지 400C)의 적어도 일측은 서로에 대하여 맞물리는 형상, 예컨대 지그재그 형상을 가질 수 있다.
제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A 내지 400C) 각각은, 홀(400h)들을 포함한다. 홀(400h)들은 상호 이격되도록 배치되며, 앞서 도 4를 참조하여 설명한 제1-1 내지 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300A 내지 300D)의 홀(300h)들과 중첩한다.
제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A 내지 400C)의 각 홀(400h)은 도 7에 도시된 바와 같이 배터리 셀(100)의 상측면, 예컨대 음극(111)과 양극(121) 각각을 적어도 일부 노출할 수 있다. 각 홀(400h)에는 탭이 배치된다. 탭은 양극탭(402) 및 음극탭(401)을 포함할 수 있다.
제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A)의 홀(400h)들 중 일부는 앞서 도 4를 참조하여 설명한 제1-1도전성 플레이트(300A)의 홀(300h)들과 중첩하고, 나머지는 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)의 홀들(300h)들과 중첩한다.
제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A)의 홀(300h)들 중 일부에는 음극탭(401)이 배치되고, 나머지에는 양극탭(402)이 배치될 수 있다. 도 6에서 제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A)의 확대된 부분들을 참조하면, 음극탭(401) 및 양극탭(402) 각각은 홀(400h)에 인접한 제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A)의 내측 단부로부터 홀(400h)을 향해 연장될 수 있다.

제2-2 및 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400B, 400C)는 제2-1도전성 플레이트(400A)와 동일한 구조를 가질 수 있다.
제2-2도전성 플레이트(400B)는 홀(400h)들 중 일부는 앞서 도 4를 참조하여 설명한 제1-2도전성 플레이트(300B)의 홀(300h)들과 중첩하고, 나머지는 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)의 홀들(300h)들과 중첩한다. 그리고, 일부의 홀(300h)들에는 음극탭(401)이 나머지 홀(300h)들에는 양극탭(402)이 배치된다.
도 7에 도시된 바와 같이 제2-2도전성 플레이트(400B)의 음극탭(401)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 음극(111)과 접속하고, 양극탭(402)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 양극(121)과 접속한다. 도 7에서, 제2-2도전성 플레이트(400B)의 음극탭(401)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제3서브-그룹(SG3)의 배터리 셀(100c)들에 대응하고, 양극탭(402)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제4서브-그룹(SG4)의 배터리 셀(100d)들에 대응한다.
제2-3도전성 플레이트(400C)는 홀(400h)들 중 일부는 앞서 도 4를 참조하여 설명한 제1-3도전성 플레이트(300C)의 홀(300h)들과 중첩하고, 나머지는 제1-4도전성 플레이트(300D)의 홀들(300h)들과 중첩한다. 그리고, 일부의 홀(300h)들에는 음극탭(401)이 나머지 홀(300h)들에는 양극탭(402)이 배치된다.
도 7에 도시된 바와 같이 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400C)의 음극탭(401)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 음극(111)과 접속하고, 양극탭(402)들은 바로 아래에 중첩 배치된 배터리 셀(100)들의 양극(121)과 접속한다. 도 7에서, 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400C)의 음극탭(401)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제5서브-그룹(SG5)의 배터리 셀(100e)들에 대응하고, 양극탭(402)과 접속된 배터리 셀(100)들은 앞서 도 3을 참조하여 설명한 제6서브-그룹(SG6)의 배터리 셀(100f)들에 대응한다.
제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A 내지 400C) 각각은, 보조홀(405h)을 포함할 수 있다. 보조홀(405h)은 제2-1 내지 제2-3도전성 플레이트(400A 내지 400C)들을 제1절연 구조(210, 도 1참조)에서 이동하는 것을 방지하기 위한 구조로, 이하 도 12을 참조하여 해당 부분에서 후술한다.

도 8 내지 도 10을 참조하면, 배터리 셀(100)들은 제1절연 구조(210)의 아래에 배치되고, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트들(300, 400)들은 절연층(500)을 사이에 개재한 채 제1절연 구조(210)의 위에 배치된다.
제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들의 홀(300h, 400h)들, 절연층(500)의 (500h)들, 및 제1절연 구조(210)의 홀(210h)들은 서로 중첩하므로, 배터리 셀(100)의 음극(111)과 양극(121)이 노출될 수 있다. 예컨대, 배터리 셀(100)의 음극(111)은 도 9에 도시된 바와 같이 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 음극탭(401)과 접속하고, 양극(121)은 제1도전성 플레이트(300)의 양극탭(302)과 접속할 수 있다.
절연층(500)의 홀(500h)에 인접한 내측 단부(500ei)는 도 9 및 도 10에 도시된 바와 같이, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들 중 적어도 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 내측 단부(400ei)를 지나도록 홀(500h)의 중심을 향해 연장될 수 있다. 선택적 실시예로, 절연층(500)의 내측 단부(500ei)는, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 내측 단부(300ei, 400ei)들을 지나도록 연장될 수 있으며, 따라서 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 내측 단부(300ei, 400ei)들은 서로 비접촉할 수 있다. 절연층(500)의 외측 단부(500oi)는 도 9에 도시된 바와 같이, 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 외측 단부(400oi)를 지나도록 연장될 수 있으며, 따라서 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 외측 단부(300oi, 400oi)들은 서로 비접촉할 수 있다.

먼저, 제1돌기(215)를 중심으로 설명한다.
도 11a, 및 도 11b를 참조하면, 제1절연 구조(210)는, 상부 절연 플레이트(211)의 가장자리와 대응되며 상부를 향해 돌출된 가장자리부(212), 및 가장자리부(212)의 일측으로부터 제1도전성 플레이트(300)의 면방향을 따라 돌출된 제1돌기(215)를 포함한다. 제1도전성 플레이트(300)의 외측 단부(300eo)는 가장자리부(212) 및 제1돌기(215)와 인접하게 배치될 수 있다.

다음으로, 제2돌기(216)를 중심으로 설명한다.
도 12를 참조하면, 제2돌기(216)는 상부 절연 플레이트(211)로부터 상방을 향해 돌출되며, 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들의 보조홀(305h, 405h)들, 및 절연층(500)의 보조홀(505h)을 관통한다. 제2돌기(216)은 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)들의 홀(300h, 400h)들 사이에 대응하도록 배치된다.
제2돌기(216)의 직경은 상부 절연 플레이트(211)의 보조홀(405h)의 내경과 실질적으로 동일하거나, 약 15% 이내의 오차를 갖도록 형성될 수 있다. 반면, 제1도전성 플레이트(300)들의 보조홀(305h)은 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 보조홀(405h) 보다 크게 형성될 수 있다.
제2돌기(216)는 제2도전성 플레이트(400)가 제1절연 구조(210) 상에 이동하거나 분리되는 것을 방지하기 위한 구조로서, 만약 제1도전성 플레이트(300)가 제2돌기(216)에 의해 규제되는 경우, 서로 중첩된 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)가 예기치 않게 접촉하는 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 그러나, 본 발명의 실시예들에 따르면, 제1도전성 플레이트(300)의 보조홀(305h)의 크기를 제2도전성 플레이트(400)의 보조홀(405h)보다 크게 함으로써 제2돌기(216)에 의해 규제를 받지 않거나, 규제를 덜 받을 수 있다. 따라서, 배터리 팩(1)의 조립시, 제2돌기(216)에 의한 제1도전성 플레이트(300)의 위치 틀어짐 문제, 및 그에 따라 제1 및 제2도전성 플레이트(300, 400)가 접촉하는 문제를 해소할 수 있다.
도 13은 본 발명의 일 실시예로서, 배터리 팩의 하부를 발췌하여 나타낸 단면도이다.
도 10을 참조하면, 냉각 부재(700)는 배터리 셀(100)들의 하측에 배치된다. 냉각 부재(700)는 열전도성 플레이트(710) 및 냉각용 유체가 지나가는 유로(720)를 포함할 수 있다. 배터리 셀(100)들의 하측면은 제2절연 구조(220)의 바닥 절연 플레이트(221)에 형성된 홀(221h)을 통해 노출될 수 있다.
열전도성 플레이트(710)는 앞서 설명한 바와 같이 애노다이징된 알루미늄 판과 같은 열전도성 소재를 포함할 수 있으며, 열전도 실리콘(715)과 같은 열전도재를 매개로 배터리 셀(100)의 하측면과 열적으로 연결될 수 있다.
유로(720)는 열전도성 플레이트(710)의 하측에 배치될 수 있다. 유로(720)를 통해 냉각용 유체가 이동할 수 있다. 냉각용 유체는, 예컨대 물과 같은 액체, 또는 공기와 같은 기체가 사용될 수 있다.
본 실시예에서는, 냉각 부재(700)가 열전도성 플레이트(710) 및 냉각용 유체가 지나가는 유로(720)를 모두 포함하는 경우를 설명하였으나, 본 발명은 이에 제한되지 않는다. 선택적 실시예로서, 냉각 부재(700)는 열전도성 플레이트(710) 및 냉각용 유체가 지나가는 유로(720) 중 어느 하나를 포함할 수 있다.

    상기 제1도전성 플레이트와 일부 중첩하도록 상기 제1도전성 플레이트 상에 배치되며, 상기 배터리 셀들을 전기적으로 연결하는 제2도전성 플레이트; 및
    상기 제1도전성 플레이트와 상기 제2도전성 플레이트 사이에 개재되는 절연층;

    상기 제1도전성 플레이트와 일부 중첩하도록 상기 제1도전성 플레이트 상에 배치되며, 상기 제1 및 제2배터리 셀 각각에 대응하는 홀들 및 상기 홀들을 향해 연장된 탭들을 포함하는 제2도전성 플레이트; 및
    상기 제1도전성 플레이트와 상기 제2도전성 플레이트 사이에 개재되며, 상기 제1 및 제2배터리 셀 각각에 대응하는 홀들을 포함하는 절연층;
    을 포함하는, 배터리 팩.
  17. 제16항에 있어서,
    상기 제1도전성 플레이트는 상기 제1배터리 셀과 대응하는 제1홀 및 상기 제1홀을 향해 연장된 제1탭을 포함하고,
    상기 제2도전성 플레이트는, 상기 제1배터리 셀과 대응하는 제2홀 및 상기 제2홀을 향해 연장된 제2탭을 포함하며,
    상기 제1탭 및 상기 제2 탭 중 어느 하나는 상기 제1홀 및 상기 제2홀을 통해 노출된 상기 제1배터리 셀의 일부와 접속하고, 다른 하나는 상기 제1배터리 셀의 타부와 접속하는, 배터리 팩.
  18. 제16항에 있어서,
    상기 제1도전성 플레이트의 홀들, 상기 제2도전성 플레이트의 홀들, 및 상기 제3도전성 플레이트의 홀들은 서로 중첩하며, 서로 다른 크기를 갖는, 배터리 팩.
  19. 제16항에 있어서,
    서로 다른 위치에 배치된 제1돌기 및 제2돌기를 포함하는 절연 구조를 더 포함하며,
    상기 제1돌기 및 상기 제2돌기 중 하나는 상기 제1 및 제2 도전성 플레이트의 외측 단부에 인접하도록 배치되고, 다른 하나는 상기 제1 및 제2 도전성 플레이트의 홀들 사이에 대응하도록 배치되는, 배터리 팩.
